Skype on 2013 Panasonic Viera E6 - Skype while watching TV?

Hello. I see "Skype while watching TV" on the Panasonic website for this series TV, but I can't find an option to login to Skype automatically when turning on the TV, on the TV itself. I have the Panasonic TY-CC20W Skype camera - which works nicely. Skype is working for me, however, I did have to google for a solution as it wouldn't initially login. It turns out that my existing profile needed to be completed before it would log me in on the TV app. It would be nice if the error message reflected this requirement rather than the misleading:  "Sorry we can't sign you into Skype at the moment due to a temporary problem".  Anyways, the Panasonic website says "Skype while watching TV". Does anyone know how to do this please?

I don't know why this is listed as having an "accepted solution", the "solution" did not work at all for me! I have a new Panasonic Viera ZT65 with with the TY-CC20 camera. i was able to log on to Skype ONE time. Every time thereafter, I get that "Sorry, There's a temporary problem try again later" message
Every time i try to log on, i get the same message. that thing about complting your Skype profile is useless and didn't help at all! The TV is hardwired to the ethernet and has no network problems. When I disconnect the camera, it tells me that I can only use Skype in demo mode as there's no camera. When i p,ug the camera back in, same old Sorry temporary problem message. logging in and out does nothing. i can log into Skype fine with my Ipad or iMac, but not with the Viera and the "Skype certified" camera for this TV!
why is there no fix for this? Why does nobody care about this? There are no more firmware upgrades that I can find and apparantly this is a well known problem, and this seems to be a problem that's been around for well over a year at this time (11/2013)
Is Skype deliberatly ignoring this? Is Panasonic totally ignoring this issue? Somebody could fix this if thet cared.
This issue IS NOT FIXED! The "fix" does NOTHING! Re-open this topic, it is not solved, it is NOT fixed! Whoever posted an "accepted fix" never tried this in the real world. they just posted something without checking it for facts.
Cannot answer or make calls as I can't log on at all. Even with "Remember password
" on, it never remembers the password.
If I use a USB keyboard to log on or use the screen alphabet to log on, i get the same problems.
Is there a "real" fix for this??

  • No video on panasonic viera tc-p50st50

Just installed Panasonic Ty-CC20w camera on my Panasonic Viera tc-p50st50 tv. Person I skype receives both video and audio, but I only receive audio--no video.  Anybody have a fix for this?  My parents are going to Australia and my whole point of getting a camera for my tv was to skype my parents while they are gone so my kids can see them and not miss them as much.  Thanks for any help.

had same problem, but with the Logitech camera, so I changed the port settings (in advanced options) to "enable uPnP" and now it works, although the connection seems weak.

  • Configuring an IP address for Panasonic Viera TX-L...

    Hi,
Hi I can't get my panasonic viera to connect to the internet.  It says it connects to the hub but that the hub isn't connected to the internet, which it is.  I've been advised by BT to configure the IP address manually but don't know how to do this.  Is it something I do on the television or on my PC through Home Hub settings?  BT gave me the IP address but don't know where to enter it. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.
Also is configuring the IP address the same as port forwarding?  It's only I tried that a while back (can't remember what I did now) for something else only to find that port forwarding won't work for 3.0.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Its nothing to do with port forwarding.
You need to change the settings on the TV to use a static IP address, not DHCP.
Using static IP addresses on your home network
I only have some info for the Samsung TV, but I may be able to find the settings page on the Panasonic, if they have an online manual.

  • Panasonic Viera not connecting to Apple TV

    Hi,
I have the Panasonic Viera model# TH-42PX500U.  This may be more of a question about the tv, rather than the apple tv. I just purchased an apple tv and HDMI cable from Apple.  I plug the HDMI cord into the HDMI output on the tv and into the Apple device, and then I also plugged the apple device into a power outlet.
When I go to change the input on the television, it won't let me click on HDMI.  It's grayed out.  It only let's me go back and forth between tv, dvd, component 2 and PC.  The ones that are grayed out and not accessible are HDMI, Video 1, Video 2, and Video 3.  I need to click on HDMI!
Any suggestions would be really appreciated....
    Thanks

MM1971 Oddly enough I just had this problem today myself. So I hit tv/vcr and it skipped past HDMI. What I had to do was go to menu / channel / captions / input labels. My HDMI port said "skip". So I changed that to "cable" (for what I needed). And the pressed ok in the middle so it "stuck." Then it showed up when doing the tv/vcr button.
I have a really old 2004 plasma so not 100% this is the same exact way on newer models, but I bet it's a similar issue. Took me a while to figure out the answer but Alexandra saying "menu" got me looking in depth there till I found it. So thanks Alexandra.

  • Can I connect my MacBook Air wirelessly to my Panasonic Viera HDTV

I would like to connect my MacBook Air to my Panasonic Viera HDTV wirelessly, so that we can view family photos, videos etc on the large flat screen. Is it possible and, if so, how do I go about it?

I believe you would need an Apple TV:
    https://www.apple.com/appletv/
FWIW, you are not running iOS (any version) on a Mac computer, it would be Mac OS 10.x.x (which is helpful for anyone trying to help you).

  • Bad Picture Quality On SD Channels With HDMI And Panasonic VIERA 720p LCD HDTV

I just bought a new Panasonic VIERA 32" 16:9 8ms 720p LCD HDTV TC-L32X1 for my in-laws when they finally had Verizon FIOS brought into their neighborhood last month.
Install was by the Verizon tech using the HDMI cable I also had shipped to them.
The HD channels quality is excellent, but the SD quality is smeared -- almost looks like an impressionist painting.
It is not the TV -- the TV menus are crystal clear, as are the HD channels.
And, it is not just the broadcast HD -- the DVR box menus are also smeared when viewing as SD channel, as is the guide and the pop up channel info.
We've tried all the settings on the TV -- Zoom, 4:3, etc.
The other TV (an older CRT) actually has better SD quality than the Panasonic.
My research indicates we're not the only ones on FIOS with this problem. Someone suggested using the component hookup rather than HDMI?
Other say that IMG 1.7 is supposed to solve the problem, that the SD quality was fine before IMG 1.6.
    Any suggestions, solutions, or updates?
    The picture is virtually unwatchable.
    Thank you!

Joe01880 - Being a new customer as of last October, I have never seen anything other than IMG 1.6.  My understanding from other posts is that before IMG 1.6, the SD PQ on an HD box was just fine.  I'm not sure what the complaints/gripes/begs were for IMG 1.6 but it seems to me that, if Verizon knows what changes were made, it should be straightforward to determine which changes caused a deterioration of the PQ.  I think it's been at least 6 months since the first complaints of poor PQ, so I don't really see how anyone can claim that Verizon is in danger of "rushing" an update to address this problem.  I also don't think that a forum topic, no matter how much it complains or gripes, will cause Verizon to rush.  I am much more worried that during a large portion of my 2 year contract that the issue won't be addressed at all, so I'm happy to add my voice to those complaining."

  • Connecting my macbook pro to my panasonic viera tv - no picture or sound

Hi there, I'm trying to connect my macbook pro to my panasonic viera tv by using an HDMI chord and a Thunderbolt mini displayport, but I can't seem to get it to work. Im just getting a screen saver, not even the same screen saver I currently have set on my macbook either. PLEASE HELP! I'm clueless with all this kind of stuff!
    Thank you!

It sounds like you haven't switched your TV to its HDMI1 input.  HDMI1is not a channel (as in a TV channel) ... it's an input.  If you are clicking the channel buttons you will never get to your HDMI1 input.
On your TV remote there is a button that says "Input" ... click it and then use the up/down arrow keys to select HDMI1.   Note, to go back to regular TV channels you will have to click the Input button again and select 'TV.'

  • New 13" Macbook Pro trying to connect to a Panasonic VIERA TC-L42U30 as second monitor. I've used multiple hdmi-thunderbolt/mini displayport adapters and multiple hdmi cables and still no success. The Macbook does not sense the second monitor (TV). Help?!

I've been a Mac since 2008, so I know my way around the system pretty well. This issue, however, has me stumped. I had an iMac until now and only now am I experiencing some difficulty with my new MacBook Pro. The model I have is the newest 13" Macbook Pro model and I'm trying to connect a Panasonic VIERA TC-L42U30 42" HDTV as a second monitor via the Thunderbolt port.
It worked the first two times and hasn't worked since, after 10-15 attempts with different configurations, turning things on n off, restarting the mac, unplugging the cables, adapters, TV, resetting the P RAM, etc... I've used multiple hdmi-thunderbolt/mini displayport adapters and multiple hdmi cables and still no success. No matter what I do, the Macbook does not sense the TV as a second monitor anymore.
I took the MacBook Pro to the Apple Store, and their "genius" there had it working fine with a DVI connection to a regular monitor. The Panasonic TV I have has HDMI connections and one VGA connection which does not support HD, but no DVI option. I want an HD connection to mirror or extend my MacBook Pro screen. At the Apple Store, they didn't have a Thunderbolt/Mini DisplayPort to HDMI adapter, so he could not try that out for me.
Anyone else have this configuration or another similar one with a Panasonic HDTV?
    Ideas? Suggestions? Anything?! Help!!
P.S. I'm running Mountain Lion, if that wasn't already obvious. Everything is up to date in my App Store as well.
    Thanks!

    Hi There,
I have had the exact same issue but with a projector.
The issue lies with Mountian Lion 10.8.2.
I tried many a combination with no luck to get HDMI working.
Took my mac into the apple store and came to the conclusion it was the software, so I asked them to install 10.8 onto it (this is destructive so a backup is a must)
Bought my macbook home and voila, now displaying through my projector.
There is a small graphics update after 10.8.1 which seems to be the cause.
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks.

  • New iMac mini DisplayPort to Panasonic Viera HDMI overrides Viera Link Soundbar

I've just bought a new iMac 27 inch. I've connected it to my Panasonic Viera TV via a Belkin Mini DisplayPort and Belkin HDMI 5m cable into the tv's HDMI port. The Viera Link Soundbar is connected via the ARC HDMI2 port. When the imac HDMI is connected to the TV it seems to override the ARC Viera Link and cuts out the normal TV out put even when the settings to the TV are switched of on the imac.  It's really difficult to explain.

Yes but is there way to leave it plugged in but disable it somehow? I don't want to have to plug and unplug the HDMI cable. Would Apple TV fix this issue?

I connected it to my brand new Panasonic Viera GT30 plasma TV via an HDMI cable and a Moshi minidisplay port to HDMI adapter. Why is this? Is there anyway to fix this?
Every video i watch of people hooking up their new macs to their tv's shows the desktop or video they r playing filling the whole tv screen. I would like to do the same. Thx!
