Skype on Panasonic HD TV

I logged in on my Panasonic HD TV once using Viera and talked to a friend once.  After that it will not work.  I try and log in but it tries to connect and then quits. Any help or advice anyone?

No...I did not get any satisfactory answer and also have had an on-line with skype help talk after that, with nothing positive....However.... it seems an extraordinary coincidence that the next day turned on TV and it immediately went into an auto program update (internet Program) and when that was finished it immediately auto restarted and Skype opened and all working???? after signing out of skype then could not sign back in again.
Next day signed in ....all good and has been Ok since, I can only assume that Skype were working on the problem as there had been many similar complaints lodged and interesting to point out that a call to Panasonic a couple of days earlier I was advised that it was a Skype problem and not a product system problem!!!

  • Skype on Panasonic P50VT20B no longer able to log ...

I've had skype working fine on my TV since I first got it over 3 years ago with the official Panasonic camera, then the other day I checked and it wasn't logged in so re-enetered my account details and then it came up with the "Cannot sync contact list" error message.
I've tried adding my birthday to my profile (along with the other crap it demands you fill in to save it) and it's made no difference at all. I can log in everywhere else (windows phone, ipad, surface, PC etc...) but the TV is having none of it.
Is there any solution to this, because having forked out over £100 on the camera this is just not acceptable to suddenly have it be a useless pile of junk?

First, I would try to remove any login startup items under System Preferences -> Accounts -> ACCOUNTNAME -> Login / Startup Items under that account.
I've had varying problems with blue screens on OS X.4 and with one machine I was unable to solve the problem, even after deleting the user account and moving all the files to different location, and recreating the account. As a last resort, you can try to move the user's home folder to someplace else on the HD, then login with the account and have OS X recreate all the files associated with the account. If that works, you can move back the files that the user needs. You might want to see what others suggest before trying that.

  • Skype on Panasonic TV Update Problem

We have a Panasonic TC-P58VT25 (2010 model).  Skype had been working well on TV, although video quality was marginal.  Today we were prompted to update Paansonic firmware to 3.72 which included a new version of Skype.  Now Skype will not work.  I get the loading circle, see our home screen for a brief second and then the program just stops working and kicks us out to Vierra Connect (used to be Vierra Cast) main menu.  When someone tries to call us, we are prompted to answer call, do so and then the program stops working.  Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreicated.

  • Cannot log in to skype on panasonic t.v.

I have used the skype app many time on my t.v. but since I reset my t.v. I cannot access skype account.  It says to use my microsoft account which I am doing.  But it still wont let me in.  I have changed my password also.  I can gain access on my p.c. but not on t.v.  Help please?

On Panasonic TVs you can only sign in to Skype using a Skype Name and Password. You can't sign in on the TV using a Microsoft Account (which is in the form of an email address).
If you normally use a Microsoft Account to sign in to Skype (e.g. [email protected]) then here's what you need to do.
On a computer, go to www.skype.com and sign in using your Microsoft Account.
Go to the Account Settings area (the link is near the bottom of the page)
At the top of the screen you will 'Skype Name' and your Skype Name will be shown. It might be something like 'live:yourname'
You need to use this Skypename (and the associated password) to sign in to Skype on your Panasonic TV.
If there is no Skype Name shown on the Account Settings page, then there should be an option there to set up Skype on your TV. Click on this link and follow the instructions. It will set you up with a Skype Name and Password you can use on your TV.
    Hope this helps...

  • Panasonic Blueray --- SKYPE not working properly

I have tried to use Skype in Blue-ray player (DMP-BDT210) but it keeps saying I have too many contacts to use Skype.
I purchased this unit basically for Skype. How many contacts can I have to be able to use it?
I mean, what is the point to have a Skype-activated gadget if I can not use it with my contacts??!! This was a nasty surprise to be honest, not what I was expecting!!!
By the way, I deleted most of my contacts from Skype and STILL I can't use it...! That means I need to have no contacts in Skype -- to call who then???!!!? Why I would need this unit if I have no contacts to call, What for?!!!!!
    Thanks

    PANASONIC AND SKYPE - WARNING
I bought a BDT 330 - I chose that model over other makes mainly because it claimed it had Skype.
Skype did not work, so I contacted Panasonic customer support.
They insisted - over several emails that they DID have Skype on this model, and that I must be doing something wrong.
So I took the 330 back to Curry's who contacted Panasonic dealer support. Curry were told that Panasonic had REMOVED  Skype, owing to technical problems. So I contacted Panasonic Customer support (who had been telling untruths to me) who then said that Skype would be put back in the next firmware update. OK, so I waited for the next firmare update as they suggested. So, I updated the firmware and - guess what - STILL NO SKYPE.  Panasonic had fed me a further "statement that did not correspond with reality".
I have now lodged a formal complaint with Panasonic.
btw - I have all the emails to support the above statements.

  • Skype shuts down when loading on Panasonic TV

Skype on Panasonic TV problems Installed Logitech TV Cam V-U0022 to my Panasonic TC-P50VT25 according to manufactures recommendations and instructions. Worked great for five days as I would Skype with my son 2000 miles away. Unfortunately, now when Skype attempts to load and gets to the main Skpye screen it shuts down and returns to the VieraCast homescreen. All other Apps work fine. Called Logitech and with my laptop computer they cleared the camera as not part of the problem but suggested it was a Panasonic firmware issue. Called Panasonic tech, they never heard of the problem and resolved to turn it over to their "firmware tech people". I don't know if I will ever hear back from them! I see on Skypes' Support Network that this problem has happened to others. Any suggestions to help with this problem?

I am having same problem with same TV.

  • Panasonic HDC-SDX1 with skype

    Hello everybody
I see on the vendor website that Panasonic camcorder model HDC-SDX1 can be used as a webcam with skype.
Panasonic does not provide details on performances and other useful details.
Does anyone know whether 1080p calls can be done with this setup (with a high performance CPU PC of course...)
I wonder whether anyone has ever tested it and can post here the outcome of their experience.
    Thanks!
    Andrea

I don't have experience with that camcorder.  I can tell you that it does not have a firewire port.    The camcorder was developed around the time of Skype 4.2.  So it stands to reason it was marketed for HD video so I don't doubt it supports higher resolution modes when in USB Skype webcam mode.  It is my guess it will be streaming a compressed MP4 mode.
    The PC friendly modes are:
    MP4-1280x720 30p (10Mbps/VBR)640x480 30p (2.5Mbps/VBR)
    iFrame 960x540 30p (28Mbps/VBR)
So I would think that it should support Skype HD modes in 640x480 and 1280x720.

  • Echo during some of live programs

    echoing during some live programs

Judging from zero responses and the facts that Skype and Panasonic are pointing fingers at each other regarding this problem, I've come to the conclusion that this technology doesn't work.  I'm sending the camera back for a refund.
It would be nice if these issues were worked out before a product is put on the market.

  • Panasonic TV and Skype Camera only send video for ...

I just bought a TCP50ST50 TV and the TY-CC20W camera for Skype. Incoming video is fine. Audio in and out is fine. Sending video lasts for 5 seconds, then the camera turns off. I hit the ok button on the remote and the video starts sending again for about 5-10 seconds, then turns off, hit the ok button, working again. Terrible way to have a video chat between grandparents and grandkids. Please help...

Lots of luck getting your problem fixed. Skype will tell you it is Panasonic'c problem and Panasonic will tell you it is Skype. You have a great deal of company and if anyone knows of a class action suit I would like to know. The error "the far end party cannot receive video" just bounces off the clueless script reading tech support who just answer questions with moronic questions of their own. This has seriously turned me off buying any other Panasonic product for the rest of my life. Can't I get some redress for all the prominent Skype hype on all three products, TC-P50GT30, DMP-BDT310 and TY-CC20W, no small bit of cash when purchased. Crimony

  • Skype hoax on Panasonic Viera TVs

Here is the deal!  I purchased a 55" Panasonic Vierra TV which boasted supporting Skype.  Upon setup, the Skype App would not work until I had the video camera.  Purchased the Panasonic Video Camera to get everything working only to find out that the Panasonic Skype App did not support group video calling.  Bummer!  Why couldn't they just tell us that before I wasted all that money on the TV and the camera.  Don't get me wrong, the TV is fine, but there are other good TVs and the Skype support was one big reason for my decision to buy this TV.  I consider not giving us enough information to make an informed decision as getting really close to a fraudulent sale.  Needless to say, I am very dissapointed with Panasonic and Skype.

I am sorry to hear you are disappointed with your Panasonic TV.
Unfortunately, TV's do not support Group Video Calling at this time.

  • Skype on 2013 Panasonic Viera E6 - Skype while wat...

    Hello.
I see "Skype while watching TV" on the Panasonic website for this series TV, but I can't find an option to login to Skype automatically when turning on the TV, on the TV itself. I have the Panasonic TY-CC20W Skype camera - which works nicely.
Skype is working for me, however, I did have to google for a solution as it wouldn't initially login. It turns out that my existing profile needed to be completed before it would log me in on the TV app. It would be nice if the error message reflected this requirement rather than the misleading:  "Sorry we can't sign you into Skype at the moment due to a temporary problem".
Anyways, the Panasonic website says "Skype while watching TV". Does anyone know how to do this please?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I don't know why this is listed as having an "accepted solution", the "solution" did not work at all for me! I have a new Panasonic Viera ZT65 with with the TY-CC20 camera. i was able to log on to Skype ONE time. Every time thereafter, I get that "Sorry, There's a temporary problem try again later" message
Every time i try to log on, i get the same message. that thing about complting your Skype profile is useless and didn't help at all! The TV is hardwired to the ethernet and has no network problems. When I disconnect the camera, it tells me that I can only use Skype in demo mode as there's no camera. When i p,ug the camera back in, same old Sorry temporary problem message. logging in and out does nothing. i can log into Skype fine with my Ipad or iMac, but not with the Viera and the "Skype certified" camera for this TV!
why is there no fix for this? Why does nobody care about this? There are no more firmware upgrades that I can find and apparantly this is a well known problem, and this seems to be a problem that's been around for well over a year at this time (11/2013)
Is Skype deliberatly ignoring this? Is Panasonic totally ignoring this issue? Somebody could fix this if thet cared.
This issue IS NOT FIXED! The "fix" does NOTHING! Re-open this topic, it is not solved, it is NOT fixed! Whoever posted an "accepted fix" never tried this in the real world. they just posted something without checking it for facts.
Cannot answer or make calls as I can't log on at all. Even with "Remember password
" on, it never remembers the password.
If I use a USB keyboard to log on or use the screen alphabet to log on, i get the same problems.
Is there a "real" fix for this??
