Skype phone number being used for harassment and p...

The user with the Skype number 661-748-0240 has been reported by MANY people to be engaging in harassment and phishing (i.e. claiming to be Microsoft technical support).
Here are 12 pages of complaints about this user: http://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-661-748-0240
I think it goes without saying that this user should be permanently banned. I'm pretty sure this isn't the right way to report a user, but I couldn't find a way to contact Skype privately or report a user on the website.

  • I keep getting a message about my phone number being used for iMessage on a new iPhone. How can I see what devices are using my iMessage account and phone number?

The message "Your phone number is now being used for imessage on a new iPhone" Keeps appearing on my macbook pro. It also says "If you just activated iMessage on a new iPhone, you can ignore this alert." But the only option is to ignore the alert, because the only thing I can do with it is click "ok" and dismiss it. Is there a way I can look at a list of the devices using my iMessage account, and if there are devices that I don't recognize on that list, how can I block them from using my account?

Hi If you have another Apple  device check on that screen & accept. Cheers Brian

  • Strange popup: phone number being used for iMessage

Received a popup on my iPad that reads "your phone number is now being used for iMessage on a new phone, if you're recently signed into "my phone's name" you can ignore this notification. Only option was to hit "ok". IPad is wi-Fi only ( iMessage was on and email address toggled on, no phone number listed) iMessage is now off; phone listed both email and phone number (only phone number was checked) in iMessage (which I toggled off after receiving the notification). Any ideas of what happened? Running IOS 8.1 on iPad 2 and iPhone 4S. Thank you.

Exact same thing happened to me last night (Australia) I was using my iPad mini when this pop up message appeared and thought how odd, my iPhone was right next to me locked...
Thinking this this was odd I unlocked my phone and went to the App Store only to discover when it asked for my password it was changed!!
I Was locked out of my Apple ID on both my iPhone 5 and iPad mini!
My Apple id and icloud was HACKED!! BE WARNED EVERYONE, CHECK YOU PASSWORDS AND SEE IF YOU CAN LOG INTO YOUR APPLE IDS AS THE LONGER YOU LEAVE IT THE WORSE THE OUT COME!

Yes was the answer which is helpful. If my computer is on but not on Skype how will I know that a call is coming in ...You would not be able to tell if an incoming call is ringing if you are not logged in on Skype.  If you are not signed on to Skype, there are two options:- The call is routed to voice mail- You set up call forwarding to a mobile or fixed line number, either of which requires a Skype Subscription or that you purchase Skype Credit to pay for call fees.-  Look to set up SpinVox, which will send you a fairly good translation of a voice mail message to a text message.  The SMS messages usually arrive within five to 15 minutes of a voice mail being recorded. CRY1 wrote:

  • Your Apple ID and phone number are now being used for iCloud on a new iPhone. Why did this pop up today?

Why did this pop up today?
Your Apple ID and phone number are now being used for iCloud on a new iPhone.

Turned on my Mac Pro a few minutes ago and I got the following "POP-UP" message.
" Your Apple ID and phone number are now being used for iCloud on a new iPhone. "  ( my iPhone is not new. )
" If you recently signed into "xxxxx  iPhone" you can ignore this notification."
On the bottom of this pop-up window is an "OK" button.  Well it's NOT "OK"  No option is offered if it is not "OK".
I have made no changes to my iPhone whatsoever.  Just normal use today.  In my iCloud settings everything is turned off except sharing Contacts.
I'd suggest you log on to iCloud.com with your Apple ID, and then go to Settings and look in the "My Devices" settings for anything you don't recognize.
I just did this. All of the devices are iPhones, iPads, and Macintoshes that I own and am familiar with.

    Hi SLCfromMadison,
This is the message that you'll receive when your Apple ID is signed into on an iPhone. If you haven't done so, the article linked below details a number of steps that can help verify the security of your Apple ID should you think that an unauthorized person has access to it.

My iPhone will not send an iMessage. It sends everything as SMS. I have ensured that my Apple ID is signed in and that my phone number is enabled for use in both FaceTime and iMessage

I had the same problem. I went in and added my email address to iMessage and deleted the text to my friends that have iPhones and sent another to test it and it worked. Only thing is now my non iPhone friends don't receive my pic text. I had to turn off iMessage for it to work. Apple needs to fix this ASAP!

    Howdy Libbidydooda,
There are a couple of possibilities that may apply to the email you have received regarding your Apple ID. The first is that the email may be a legitimate warning that your Apple ID has been compromised. For this reason I would suggest that you change the password to your Apple ID as soon as possible. Use the instructions on this page -
Apple ID: Changing your password - Apple Support
In order to increase security for your Apple ID you may want to set up and use two-step verification. See this article for information about it -
Frequently asked questions about two-step verification for Apple ID - Apple Support
The second possibilty is that the email is an attempt at "phishing" in order to get you to reveal personal information. Typically this is done with an email that looks like it comes from an official source but has links to web pages that, while they may look like they are real, may actually be gathering your information for use by others. This article has more information about phishing -
Identifying fraudulent "phishing" email - Apple Support
For this reason it is important that you do not follow any links in the email, as they may compromise your security.
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
    Best,
    Brett L

    Have you tried this.
First check that your privacy settings are set to ''Allow calls from anyone''.
Then change them to "Allow SkypeIn calls from Only people from my Contacts List".
Save and wait for 5 minutes.
Log out from your Skype account and log back in.
Change settings back to "Allow calls from Anyone".
Save and wait for 5 minutes.
Log out from your Skype account and log back in.

  • Skype phone number for my business as an expatriate

Hello everyone, I am looking to use skype for my business, more exactly, I am an expatriate and I need to buy/use a skype phone number that has the same format as local numbers have in my homeland.  Before I invest in one of those numbers, what I would like to know - for sure - is: 1 - Are skype numbers like any other landline numbers, meaning is there any way a client finds out the number he/she is calling is not a genuine/regular landline number? 2 - If the client is let's say in Canada, my skype number looks like a local French landline (eg: 0141315184) number, and my computer is in Zimbabwe, will the client pay more than if the computer was in France?. 3 - If the client again calls from Canada, dialing my skype number will be as for regular landlines right? eg: +33[removed for privacy] Thank you in advance for support. RC

They already have your number and/or email address and maybe have sold it several times already to others as well. They also use number generators - software that will automatically create them - some work and some don't, they don't care, they send out millions and a few will fall for it and send them money. The only way to "hide" would be to change both and your password, but then it would happen again at some point.

  • HT5312 My recovery email is no longer in use, as it hasn't been used for sometime, and now seems to have 'expired', and I do not even recall being asked the security questions,so I can no longer download certain games. Please help.

I cannot download certain games because I do not recall the answers to my security questions when it asks if I am 17 years or older. In fact, I do not even recall being asked these security questions.
I tried to guess logical answers but now my iPad is threatening to lock me out. My second email is no longer in use as it has not been used for years and has seemingly expired.
    Can you please help?

If you don't have access to your rescue email account, or you don't have one on your account (an alternate/secondary email address is a different setting/address), then you will need contact iTunes Support or Apple to get the questions reset (you won't be able to change/add a rescue email address until you can answer 2 of your questions)
e.g. you can try contacting iTunes Support : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Account Management , and then 'Forgotten Apple ID security questions'
or try ringing Apple in your country and ask to talk to the Accounts Security Team : http://support.apple.com/kb/HE57
When they've been reset you can then use the steps half-way down the page that you posted from to update/add a rescue email address for potential future use
