Skype phone number for my business as an expatriate

Hello everyone, I am looking to use skype for my business, more exactly, I am an expatriate and I need to buy/use a skype phone number that has the same format as local numbers have in my homeland. Before I invest in one of those numbers, what I would like to know - for sure - is: 1 - Are skype numbers like any other landline numbers, meaning is there any way a client finds out the number he/she is calling is not a genuine/regular landline number? 2 - If the client is let's say in Canada, my skype number looks like a local French landline (eg: 0141315184) number, and my computer is in Zimbabwe, will the client pay more than if the computer was in France?. 3 - If the client again calls from Canada, dialing my skype number will be as for regular landlines right? eg: +33[removed for privacy] Thank you in advance for support. They already have your number and/or email address and maybe have sold it several times already to others as well. They also use number generators - software that will automatically create them - some work and some don't, they don't care, they send out millions and a few will fall for it and send them money. The only way to "hide" would be to change both and your password, but then it would happen again at some point.

Sign on to your Skype account dashboard where you manage your payment methods and subscriptions. You should see a tile that says Skype Number; if you click on that icon/box/tile, your number will be shown.

I just set up a new skype account and not clear what my phone number is for this account. The account number listed is [removed for privacy]. I want to be able to provide this number to my friends.

My credit card was lost and subsequently replaced. I forgot to provide Skype with the details of the replacement card. Subsequently my Skype phone number was cancelled. Is it possible to get that same number back and how do I do it. Would appreciate some help thank you J

Bought a skype phone number so I can receive calls thru skype. Just "blinks" that it's an incoming call but no ringtone. where can I go to fix this?

Just out of curiosity, is it only your Skype Number that does not have the classic Skype incoming call ring tone, or all calls? The first place I would check (I am a Windows 7 user) is where I have my audio settings for "ringing" set. I would also check in the Sounds settings under "which events play a sound."

Have you tried this.
First check that your privacy settings are set to ''Allow calls from anyone''.
Then change them to "Allow SkypeIn calls from Only people from my Contacts List".
Save and wait for 5 minutes.
Log out from your Skype account and log back in.
Change settings back to "Allow calls from Anyone".
Save and wait for 5 minutes.
Log out from your Skype account and log back in.

Receiving sms to skype phone number

Hi, I'm wondering if it's possible to receive SMS texts to your skype phone number? I have a phone number associated with my skype account and would like to send as well as receive to this number.

This does not work for me.
I am on Skype 5.7.0.1130 for the Mac.
In the Skypereferences . . . :Messaging windoid.
I click on the "Set Number..." dropdown menu and type in my mobile phone number. I keep getting the message that "Error on sending code to mobile phone" etc.
Now -- perhaps this is my issue, I have a brand new Skype mobile phone number for Germany. So new that I just got it two days ago. I was expecting to be able to send and receive text messages on this -- primarily from my bank and places like that which send you secret codes to your SMS when you are trying to log in. Does this work? Can it work? Why is it so hard to actually talk to a Skype Customer Support person??

Skype phone number - auto renew?

Some months ago, I bought a Skype phone number.
I've never used it and don't want it to renew.
I paid for the phone nuimber for a year via paypal. I don't want it to auto-renew. Is their any way to check to see if it's set to auto-renew, or how do I make sure they don't renew it?

you need to CANCEL the Skype Number in your account, otherwise it will automatically renew using the same payment method as before
sign in to your account at www.skype.com, and click on the Skype Number tile
then, on the next screen, click on Settings under your Skype Number
finally click on Cancel Skype Number

I need to change my phone number on my business card. I am using a Intel IMAC OSX 10.8. My card is in a pdf format.

A JPG won't allow you to actually change the text, but you could blank it out & paste over it I suppose.
Photoshop would only allow you to paste over it, not edit the text I think, but that may be your only option since whoever made it may have restricted editing rights.

Unlink a phone number
To remove a phone number from an Apple ID, sign out of FaceTime and Messages on your iPhone:
Settings > Messages > Send & Receive. Tap your Apple ID, then tap Sign Out.
Settings > FaceTime. Tap your Apple ID, then tap Sign Out.
This should remove your phone number from other devices using the same Apple ID with FaceTime and Messages. If the phone number is still available on other devices after you sign out of FaceTime and iMessage on the iPhone, you may need to sign out of iMessage and FaceTime on all your devices, then sign in to FaceTime and Messages again on devices you want to use.
Note: If you no longer have access to the iPhone that is using the number you want to remove, reset your Apple ID password.
Then, you can use the top of the article to activate iMessage and FaceTime on the iPhone that uses your correct number.

TRy to check on your imessage setting on your iphone. It should be setting>messages> imessage. If you can see your phone number then your mac will be able to see your message. If not toggle the message on and off. Once activated your mac will ask you if you would like to use your number for imessage, click agree(0r yes) then you will also receive a message on your iphone that your mac started using your phone number for imessage
