Skype Premium Question

Hi,
I signed on to Skype Premium and my sister lives in Israel.  It was my understanding that I get one country to add to the Skype Premium Account as part of this package, which was one of the reasons I signed on.  Today is her birthday and I want to give her a call.  Please advise how I can set this up.

We are having problems with Skype Premium so I'd approach with caution. We have made one 11 minute call and now it is saying we are out of credit and must buy phone credits or subscribe to another plan to be able to call land lines. Customer support is extremely difficult to find - there is supposed to be a live chat but we keep getting bumped back out to the sign in page when we try to use it. I'd use caution with Premium. If you just want to make calls just buy $10 worth of credit (2 cents a minute anywhere in north america) and when you need more just top up.

    Initially, Skype Premium offers group video calling.
    Also, you can include calls to one country from the list to be included to your purchase, unfortunately, only landlines are included for Australia.
    Also, the new Skype promotion (http://www.skype.com/intl/en/offers/skype-with-love/?intcmp=ch1-SkypeLove-main) includes Unlimited World subscription, which, unfortunately, does not cover autralian mobile numbers, only landlines.

  • Skype premium active but unable to call

    Hey Skype - 
    I'd love it if you all had a number or email address to contact for customer support. Digging through multiple levels of links to find a place to post a question is frustrating.
    I purchased skype premium and it reads as active on my account, yet when I try to make calls to a phone number, it says that I have insufficient credit to make the call, which from my understanding shouldn't happen.
    Any suggestions?

  • Can't purchase Skype Premium, something went wrong...

    I'm already a old style 'Skype Premium' user, with the old 'Skype Premium' features and unlimited calls to the US and Canada.
    Other than that, I have a one month new 'Skype Premium' subscription that is still active.
    Now I have credits in the accoun and I want to buy a 12 months new 'Skype Premium' for umlimted calls to over 50 countries, but it always gives me something went wrong error?
    And where is the online chat support for 'Skype Premium' users? I just can't find it on the skype website at all.

    So to answer my questions, 
    you'll need to click support first, 
    then either search or not search a topic for help, the heavily advertised "Live Chat" support is buried 
    in the bottom and with a different confusing name called "Get More Help",
    Then you will be forced to search your problem again first, 
    click "Get More Help" again, 
    login,
    then you will be asked to select a topic
    Select issue
    Problems huh? Take a seat and tell us about it.

    then you have the live chat support.
    Bravo Skype, I can see why Skype can't make any progress and sold to MS and there's Viber coming in.
    A company put the customer service to the last and least will not survive very long.

    I have just spend 20 minutes also trying to cancel my Premium subscription.  It seems that the site is purposely design to keep this from a happening.  Fortunately I canceled my credit card (for another reason) so I guess Skype will not be tyring to track me down as a owing them.  
    Also, has anyone noticed there is not way to submit a question if it does not fit into one of the pre-define categories...funny I could not find a category for "how do I get out of this Roach Hotel"

  • Neither party has skype premium but we can somehow...

    Neither myself nor the person I skype with has skype premium but about a week ago we suddenly could share our screens and open our cameras at the same time. Messages have been popping up stating we can use this service because one of the people in the call has skype premium.
    Has one of our computers been hacked and suddenly we have someone with skype premium hidden in our calls?

    Hi,
    The only test we are running right now is around account enablement of group video calls. We haven't changed anything in regard to automatically starting video.
    Depending on the platform your friend is using though, they might be able to see video only if the call returns to a 1-on-1 call. E.g. Android and iOS don't support group video calls yet so group calls will show as audio only on their end until enough people leave the call for it to become a 1-on-1 again.

  • Skype Premium - Improved group calling?

    Hi there,
    I regularly host Skype calls with 6-8 people across four continents (US, UK, East Africa and SE Asia). The sound quality is okay, but when the number of participants goes over 5+ people our calls tend to get dropped after a few minutes. It is a frustrating process of dialing back in.
    I am thinking of upgrading to Skype Premium. I'm not interested in the video conferencing feature (the bandwith of my colleagues in Africa and Asia won't support that), but I am wondering whether the upgrade will improve our dropped calls situation?
    Otherwise, does Skype have any other products or solutions to improve group calling or improve call quality in general?

    Skype Premium would not affect quality of your audio only group calls. So if you are not into group video calling, the live chat customer service option or advertising removal Skype Premium is not something for you.

    Depending upon the additional features you wish to have the particular user to have access to, and where your account is located, you could do this one of two ways:
    Add enough credit to the "child" account so the user can purchase a Premium subscription; or
    If Video is the only feature you need, here is a screen shot of where to find and to add that feature:
    Please note, if the Skype Manager account is in the United States and has accepted US.. Terms of Service, then the members are not permitted to purchase any products themselves. They can only request available products from the administrator, and Skype Premium is not currently available.

    I am looking to purchase a subscription but had few questions regarding the same. Some basic info I am basically from US but will be traveling extensively for next few months, hence the need for same.
    So Now -
    Option 1 - I see Skype Premium Service with Unlitd US & Canada Calling for $4.49/ month
    Option 2 - I also see the Skype US and Canada subscription with unltd calling for ~$6.99/month
    But obviously option 1 looks better as it has Group Video and all premium features. So my question was does option 2 also has all premium features. Meaning why would anyone buy option 2 when option 1 has more features and costs less.
    Also which pricing plan am I buying if I get the groupon deal - which is free dongle/adapter with 12 month subscription for US calling. I dont care for a adapter as I intend to use the iPhone 4 for most calling.
    I would highly appreciate a clear response to these 2 questions.

  • Skype Premium after Free Group Video Calls

    The short version of it: Either
    Good Decision, now refund your loyal paying customers; or
    Poor Decision, it should remain a pay-only product.
    Which one is it going to be?
    The long version of it:
    Okay, Skype, I think there will be a flood of people coming in here and also people flooding the e-mails and live chats of the support team. So since it looks like nobody is going to put it up for talks, I guess I'm going to do it - what's going to happen to us who paid for a month... a few months... or even, like myself, a year of Skype Premium? Are we getting pro-rated refunds? 
    I know there will be someone from the Skype team that will redirect everyone to the "Refunds are eligible for those who haven't used the service yet" support article, but what about those who already paid and are now publicly notified that the core feature of Skype Premium, Group Video Calling, is now free? I've shelled out on almost $500 of Skype Premium gifts to my friends (over $100 of it to myself), each for a year of Skype Premium. What does that mean for us? What does that mean for you if you did something similar... or just had a year of service for one?
    Be advised, folks, I see nothing that says that when Skype Premium is discontinued, no refunds will be offered. This means the Skype team can do as they will. If they do the wrong thing, however, then maybe their competitor (and I'm talking about the big, blue G) might have more worth in the end. 
    Don't disappoint your customers, Skype.
    Are you affected by this change? How muc hdid you pay for Skype Premium and what's your length of subscription? Is it still going to be active the next month and probably the month after? Let's all let the Skype team know what's going on and how we feel about it.

    Summary: Skype eventually refunded my money into my bank account, after an ordeal though!
    Initially, Skype had given me pro-rated Skype credit on 9-May  from 1-May to the year on. But I don't use Skype credit at all, so there wasn't much I could have done with it. The only reason I had premium was to make group video calls.
    I contacted Skype and the Customer Service Executive (CSE) told me that since it has been more than 14 days from the transaction date, a refund could not be made. I had to explain that that credit was useless to me, I had not received a notification of such a transfer and if I should onsider my £20 donated to Skype. I was told that, "... because you are a loyal customer, we'll refund the money into your bank account and it will reach you within 3 - 5 business days"
    I left a really nice feedback for that CSE, since I was satisfied. But, then I received an email saying that as the amount of $20 (note the currency mixup), had already been added to my Skype credit, there was no monetory refund needed. My head blew up!! This was not only deceiving but also a company backing out on its word.
    Following that, I contacted Skype again. Re-iterated the entire scenario and mentioned how the first CSE had lied to me. After almost 30 mins of debating, I got the same "loyal customer" dialog and a confirmation of refund (again). But this time I was skeptic and the feedback wasn't equally good.
    After 3 days I got the money in my account.

  • Skype premium and 'reward' of Unlimited World subs...

    Reward for existing Skype Premium Subscribers?
    When I saw the May 2014 email about Premium changing and premium subscribers being 'rewarded', I thought it was great because we have family outside of the USA but the way this has been handled was not the best and now we have a mess with my account and support doesn't seem equipped to help. Here is my history...
    Watched my Paypal Charged for the Unlimited World - (a charge that I did not request)
    My account has been in a state since 14 May myself - I saw a charge as it was applied to my Paypal account, it was for the unlimited world subscription that I did not purchase. I immediately contacted skype and Skype Support offered to refund that money and the switch to Unlimited World would happen soon after without any charges.
    Endless Support Conversations
    Now, I have been having chat's and exchanging emails with Skype because I was told:
    1. I would automatically be switched to Unlimited World (as noted above) but this did not happen
    2. Then, I was told I would NOT be switched until Renewal. (support provided a link that explained this)0
    3. Then, I was told I would and already had been switched to unlimited world - which is not true
    4. Puchase History Descrepency - I've provided details that my Skype Purchase History shows fewer transactions than my Paypal account (as in charges and refunds from Skype). Skype history shows a refund only, Paypal shows a charge and a refund on the same day!
    The Support discussions are difficult:
    1. Partly because the english used is volumous but hard to understand (ESL, I have to think)
    2. Partly because each person seems to assure me things either are fixed (unsatisfactorily) or will be fixed (satisfactorily) - and this issue has not been resolved.
    3. Partly because each person doesn't seem to have a complete picture of the problem I have been describing.
    Each time, we seem to discuss some smaller details instead of the real issue.
    I've been using skype for over 10 years now and the change since Microsoft has taken over is very strange on the support side.
    Has anyone else had such problems or noticed such a change with Skype (which used to be somewhat hip and cool)?

    Skype user from nearly the beginning! Loved the early Skype, challenges and all. (Have been a member of nearly all versions of Skype forums over the years but history has been forgotten.)

    I believe the objective and query of my communications both here and with both Skype Support Live Chat and Skype Support by email has been clear from the beginning - I have been asking "when" the Skype Unlimited World Calling would be added to my Skype Premium account as noted in the May 2014 email saying Premium subscriptions would be rewarded - Noting that I had made a call to Spain and saw my credit being deducted when I expected the Unlimited World Subscription might have been applied (which I thought was a great reward).
    Overall, I don't think this is a terribly difficult issue, at least not until I got involved with Skype's various support representatves. Here is a brief summary, chronologically (summarised because there have been more the 5 exchanges with Support so far):
    1. When? - Looking for a time when the Unlimited World Calling would be applied to my account.
    2. Charge/Refund? - Asking that an unrequested charge against my account be explained and then accepting the offer of Skype support to refund that money and being told the Unlimited World Calling would be applied to my account in some time.
    3. Support says 'Resvoled' - Looking for the Unlimited World Calling some time later, being told that it HAS been applied when it was not.
    4. Please Verify - Asking for Support to check my account to verify that the Unlimited World Calling WAS actually applied to my account because I could not see it.
    5. Descrepency - I then pointed out to Skype Support that I now see a descrepency between what I see on my Skype Purchase History vs. my Paypal Charge/Refund history.
    All of the above is in the interest of the conversion from my current Preimium with a single country subscription to the Unlimited World Calling subscription.
    Below is the response to my last query (that covered both 4 and 5 above) but I maintained that my over arching goal was as I stated at the top of this post (yet again):

    We understand that you are confused about the charges that you got last December 17, 2013 for the Skype premium subscription for £41.262 and another charged last may14, 2014 for the Unlimited World 12 months with the same cost.
    Here is the explanation about that.
    The Skype premium that you have purchased last December 17, 2014 is a bundled subscription. Meaning aside from the group video calling feature, it also have the Unlimited World 12 months that you can use to call other countries for the amount of £41.262 instead of £86.76.
    However, Group Video Calling is now free and Group Video Calling is the main feature of Skype Premium. Skype replace your calling subscription that was bundled to your Skype premium with Unlimited World 12 months. That is why it has the same price as your old Skype Premium subscription.
    Also the charged for the Unlimited World 12 months has been refunded already last May 14, 2014.

    In my work, I communicate successfully by email with multinational global companies, both senior and middle management, on a daliy basis so I don't believe I am being unclear in my communications (experience would say I don't have a problem communicating).
    Can anyone else see that the responses are dealing with individual details instead of the real issue?
    Should I respond to the email above AGAIN trying to explain that this does NOT resolve my issue?
    I'm slowly being frustrated into submission and then cancelling... all the experience here is just too painful.  (I dread checking my emails from skype now...really not enjoying this.)
