Hello guys... I have a problem with skype on my WP device i just updated my phone to wp 8.1 and i download skype... and after that i installed skype,and skype just crash a lot of times and i can't call anyone.I just wait and nothing is happening just wait to call and wait and wait? Some help? Thanks

The bug if you kill the Skype Apps,
Skype Apps for wp 8.1
Wont run correctly as Background Task.
Skype Developer is now not paying attention on this apps.
They must fix this Major Problem.
While Skype Apps for windows Phone 8 if you kill it, would works very well.
So hey Microsoft Skype. Please Fix this !

Skype in HTC One M8 keeps crashing

The app keeps crashing when I try to open it on my phone. When I open it, it shows for few seconds and exits the app by itself. Uninstalling certain updates did not fix the issue. Uninstalling the app and installing it back also did not work either. Help me out here. I have HTC One M8 phone. When contacting HTC help, they said the issue is with Skype. Not the phone. What can I do?

okay so I had the same problem and I got it working for me. . . what u need to do is go to your app management -> Skype -> force close skype -> clear data, clear cache, and clear defaults -> start up skype again and you should be able to type your login information. I believe the problem may be that skype or our phones may have a limit of how much stuff we can store like chat movies or pictures, causing it to close out on us whenever its too full.

I have problems with the skype.
My network is a NAT network and the outsite valid ip address is one Because this, my network was nat to share the local network to internet. I don´t have proxy or other tools in my network. My router is a mikoritk running the last firmware.
The problems is:
1. some users send a file to other user im my network or outsite the network, and the message of transfer os file is received, but the transfers don´t start.
2. others users send a file and the trasnsfers is ok!
3. the call (and video call) to some users don´t go. The message don´t is show, but if I disconect and connect again, the message is show to me (calling lost).
3. this case of call is to some users, but to others users is ok. the calling (and calling video) is ok.
I see the user call to one and the calling is ok, but when try to call other user this don´t run.
I don´t now what is the problema. Has someone with options to solve this?

Skype Problem - Latest version not working, Please...

So, I cannot install the latest version of Skype. It's really frustrating as every time I try to install it, an error comes up saying ''Failed to get proc address for GetLogicalProcessorInformation (KERNEL32.dll)''
- I tried opening Skype after installation by clicking on the icon, but the same thing happens.
- I have also tried uninstalling and installing Skype several times, but nothing works.
- I downloaded the Service Pack 3, as I have read about this problem and some websites recommended doing this, but again nothing worked, same error appeared.
- I also cannot download older versions of Skype, because whenever I install them, it takes me to the login page and so I put my login details but it doesn't let me through, and it says that they have signed me out because I have an outdated version of Skype.
Please help, as I don't know what to do, I tried everything and there is no solution.
Help will be much appreciated!

Iphone 3GS skype problem

Hello, I am experiencing some difficulties on skype using with my iphone. My problem is that whenever I use skype to make phone calls on my iphone, it always quits the skype and goes to the iphone home page when I type more than 6 digits. I can't even type the complete the phone number on skype. Why is that and how do I fix this problem?

It seems that there is a bug in the newest version skype so I guess I will try to get the old version on my iphone. Don't upgrade the skype on your iphone

Skype problem with Norton

Dear All, Kindly be informed that I bought new Lap Top with "Norton" antivirus and I can't access my Skype account since that day although I can access it with the same username and password on my old PC. I gave it permission through "Norton" but it doesn't work, so please advice.

I had the same problem. I told Norton to add another firewall rule and navigated to the Skype Updater file. As soon as I told Norton to allow that file my Skype logged on fine.

Skype problems with Airport Extreme after update

I use Skype to call regular phones and landlines. For over a year now it has worked well with my Airport Extreme, however, I noticed that around the same time I updated my Airport utility to 5.5.2 and Mac OS X update on 1/7/11 I am having problems with audio getting scrambled, the person on the other end dropping out, and my voice dropping out of their calls and the sound of me "being in a long tunnel," as they describe it. If I plug the ethernet directly into my computer there is no problem so I know it is the Airport base station.
I have tried plugging and unplugging the base station and I had comcast reset my cable modem but nothing seems to be working. I have 12 mbps internet so I know it is not a bandwidth problem.

Indeed I have the same problem. I ended up buying a new router because I thought mine was malfunctioning. After buying the latest generation Airport Extreme, turns out it's having the same problem. I agree that it was not a problem until 5.5.2. Also, I use YouSendIt constantly and it also chokes the Airport Extreme. It appears to happen in scenarios of high bandwidth usage.
5.5.3 maybe coming soon?

N9 Skype Problem

Hi All,
Taken the plunge and ditched my iPhone for a N9 and loving th experince after a few days getting used to it. I have a niggling problem with Skype though that I wonder if the community can help with.
I click on accounts/add accounts and choose Skype. Type in my login credentials (and yes I have checked they are right by logging in and out of my desktop/Mac Skype client) and all seems OK.
When I click on availability, I seem my Skype avatar, so I know an initial connection has been made, but it refuses to go online. The little icon to the top right of the avatar flashes for a short while between the offlien symbol (grey box witha bar through it) and whatever status I choose, such as online or away, then I get a mesage underneath the Offline status simply saying "Network error".
If I go into the Skype account details, all the boxes are greyed out and when I go to the Skype application, there are no contacts showing.
I've tried deleting the account and starting again and even going to a hard reset and then starting with the Skype account before anything else, just to see if any of the Ovi apps I have may have impacted, but no joy.
Being from the UK, I got my phone from Expansys and I believe it is a Swiss model. I am running on O2 and the firmware is PR1.1.1 (22.2011.44-2_PR_006)
Any help gratefully appreciated.

Just in case anyone else has been having this problem. It turns out that my solution was to change the password on my desktop Skype for teh account and then log in with a new password on the N9. Logical? NO, but I now have Skype working

Hello skypers!
Im having a problem with my skype after getting forced into updating my windows from 8 to 8.1. It appears that my skype have some latency connecting to calls - not only incomming calls but also my own.
Scenerio: I am calling a friend who is picking up the call within 10 seconds, i wouldnt notice this before about a minut later when I connect to the call.
While trying to connect to my OWN call i get a message telling me that there is a connection error.
I've tried several sulotions regarding firewall, internet explore, updating, reinstalling etc.
Note that im on a 2013 laptop and while i skype i use a ethanet cable. At my home my other devices dont have this problem, even my other computer.
Im not sure if this is relevant but im using the desktop version which im only able to find in 32-bit eventhough i use 64-bit.

So here is how I got it fixed for my Mac OS X 10.9.5 and skype 6.19. I think Windows folks can follow a similar approach.
option 1 - Contact a live support agent via this link -
https://support.skype.com/en/faq/FA10656/what-is-live-chat-support and have him/her remote login to your machine and fix it.
option 2 - Do-it-yourself
1) Try installing skype ver 6.15 (you need to find the executable over the internet or from skype-support) .. the usual steps to uninstall your current version and re-install the new version.
After installing ver 6.15, make sure in Skype -> Preferences, you don't check the "Always keep skype up to date" option.. or else it will go and install the latest version 6.19.
2) If it still doesn't work,
(i) Go to Finder window -> select 'Go' tab on top -> select 'Go to Folder' -> type '~/Library/Application Support/Skype/'
there you will find a file called "shared.xml". DELETE IT.
(ii) Go to Finder window -> select 'Go' tab on top -> select 'Go to Folder' -> type '/private/var/db'. There may be a file called "config.xml" or something similar. DELETE IT.
3) Even then it doesnt work, go back to Option 1 (contacting skype-support)

Skype Problem: Contacts gone

Hello, my name is Mindaugas and I am from lithuania.
Recently I have downloaded an older version of skype and for some reason lost all of my skype contacts. I have no backup files, and I can't really add all of the contacts again - I don't have such a memory to remember more than 200 contacts.
If you had the same problem and managed to fix it, please reply asap.

I've been spreading the word since my friend found out a solution!
A friend of mine in IT googled and it so far it seems to have eliminated the constant lag I've been getting every 20-30 seconds.
Here it goes:
Close skype completely.
Type in your spotlight: Terminal (black box looking icon)
Press enter then type in exactly:
cd ~/Library/caches/
Press enter again and then type in exactly:
sudo rm -d -v -r com.skype.skype
WARNING: It will give you a notice of caution that it could delete files, stay calm, all is good (I panicked too), then it'll ask you to type in your password (this refers to your actual mac password: the one you use to make changes to programs, give permission for installations, etc.)
Following the entering of your password there will be a giant wall of text, tons of code that you will not understand. Wait till this finishes (stops) and close terminal. Then proceed to re-open skype. Problem should be fixed! Ta-da!
Be sure to check activity monitor to compare your now normal % CPU levels to the abnormal ones that you were having before !
