Skype Secondary - will not recognise camera/audio

Windows XP.  Since upgrading to version 7.7.0.102 when I start up my Secondary account Skype is not recognising my camera/audio and I get the following message under Tools/Options/Video Settings:
"Can't start video.  Try closing programs qhich might be using your webcam" Any suggestions and help much appreciated.

Have just done a system restore to before the new version of Skype was installed.  Now back on version 7.5.85.102 and all is working perfectly.
Could it be that the latest version of Skype is not compatible with Win XP? Hope that this helps others.

  • Mac will not recognise camera

    Hello
Just got a new Macbook Pro, 13inch. We want to use it to edit films but so far we cannot get the Mac to recognise the video camera. The camera is a Canon xm1 mini dv and it is connected with a firewire. When we plugged it in it does not even appear in the finder and Adobe Premiere does not recognise it either.... Any ideas?

    Thanks.

  • Hp G72 series with windows 7 will not recognise burned audio cd

I have a HP G72 c55DX notebook. I tried to play a CD that was burned from Itunes and it came back as the disc was blank. I have played the disc in my car and on a cd player. I tried another disk that was burned on a different computer with Windows Media Player. It did not work either. I contacted Best Buy where I bought the notebook and their answer was some notebooks won,t let you play burned audio disks and I should contact HP.  Anyone witha little help would be appreciated.
    This question was solved.

Resolved the issue by uninstalling the DVD drive and shutting down notebook. When restarting the drivers were installed and then it worked

  • Installed Lightroom 5.7 Update and Camera RAW 8.7 But still will not recognise my Canon 7D MkK ll even though this is now on the list

Installed Lightroom 5.7 Update and Camera RAW 8.7 But still will not recognise my Canon 7D MkK ll even though this is now on the list- what can I do?
    Operating System OSx Yosemite IMac.

What exactly does "not recognise" mean, Kathy?
You're on Mac (thanks for providing that detail): are you getting a "could not be read" message? If you are, it's a write permissions issue with the destination. Change the permission, and all should be well.

  • IChat 5.0.1 will not recognise my ISight camera

Can anyone help? For some reason IChat will not recognise my ISight camera. Photo Booth and IMovie recognise the camera fine and it appears in the System Profiler under USB. Any suggestions

    Hi,
I see I asked a silly question that you had already posted info about.
    Sorry about that.
If a PRAM rest has not done it and it works elsewhere (other apps) does it work in other Mac User Accounts ?
If iChat works in another Mac User Account then deleting a .plist or two for iChat should sort it.
If it does not work and you have not got the Disk handy the next option would be to Run the COMBO Installer of the Last Update to the OS that you did.

Keep this download as you will need it if you have to do the Reinstall.

    Hi Sylvia's iMac,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
It sounds like you need to reset the administrator password on your computer. Please follow the instructions in the attached article for information on how to complete this process. The article has instructions for Snow Leopard (10.6) and earlier, but there is also a link within the article for assistance in Lion (10.7) or later.

  • HT1567 Itunes 10.6.1.7 is not recognising an Audio CD when inserted in the drive. This means I connot import any CD's. What could be wrong?

iTunes 10.6.1.7 is not recognising an audio CD when inserted in the drive. This means that I cannot import CD's. It used to work but since installing other software iTunes does not see the audio CD and will not open the drive when "eject disc" is selected from the controls menu.

Check the drive letter of your CD drive.  iTunes doesn't seem to work properly with CD drives if they are mapped to the letters A or B.  Use Disk Management tool in windows to change to a different letter and this will fix it (if this is the cause!).

  • Bridge and Photoshop CS4 will not recognise the images shot in NEF file

Shot in Nikon D810 with NEF file but the images will not recognise with Bridge and Photo
    shop CS4

That camera was recently supported for the first time by ACR 8.6, which needs at least CS6 to run.  You will never be able to open those raw NEF files in CS4, as there will never be an update for CS4.
Your choices are to upgrade, or to use the free, stand-alone Adobe DNG Converter 8.6 on each and every batch of raw NEF files in order to convert them to raw DNGs that you can open in CS4.

  • Mac Book Pro/iTunes will not recognise content of freshly burned cd

    Hi
So...my drive will recognise bought dvds and burned dvds. It will also recognise the content of shop bought cd. I can also burn cds and dvds. HOWEVER, it will not recognise cds burnt for me from other peoples (apple) machines. It simply says that the cd is blank. This is the same whether the cd is an mp3 cd, an audio cd or a datadisc. I have also tried to open the cd's in Quicktime and VLC but it still will not recognise.
Can anyone help m with this one? Do I just need to get a lens cleaner and if so are lens cleaners that you insert into the machine safe to use ?

    So...
    It would appear that now:
I cant burn dvds using toast or dvd studio pro.I can however play burnt dvds.
I cant play burnt cd's using itunes or quicktime but I can burn cds using iTunes.
Im so puzzled that any help would be brilliant.thank you.

  • PC will not recognise Ipod-have tried everything!

I have brand new 4gp ipod mini. Uploaded software-when it said to connect ipod I did. when it got to the screen on the uploding wizard thingie that asked about formatting the ipod the "next" button was not highlighted, so with no other option, I ticked the "tick here if you want to install software without ipod connected" and carried on.
PC will not recognise ipod as either a piece of hardware or in itunes.
It is connect via a USB 2 port which is on a USB 2 card. The ipod does charge so that bit is working. The PC is about 4 years old and has Windows XP.
When i plug into an old USB 1 port the PC recongises the ipod, but says the port cannot support it (assume as it is too slow)
I have tried the following things
    1. remove all ipod/itunes software and restore-using both the software downloads from apple site as well as the software which came with ipod
    2. resetting it
    3. putting it in disco format when plugged into PC.
Plse can someone tell me what I shoudl try next? I have looked through all the discussion threads and apple site and cannto see anything that seeems to fit this problem. I am assuming it is related to the USB.....but could be very wrong!
    thanks
    Chantal

    Hi,
I have EXACTLY the same problem, my computer is even the same age as yours! I re-installed etc etc, I downloaded XP service pack 2, I have a 4GB ipod mini, I reset it and reset it again, I phoned Apple support, not a lot of help considering they told me to doexactly what I had been doing already, told me to try on another computer and like you I don't have any other to try on, I tried other devices in the USB 2 port (also a PCI card like yours) and they work fine, and the ipod charges. I went back to the Apple store to swap it for another one and the guy there said that it sounds as though my computer is only recognising the ipod as a external hard drive instead of a music player. When I plug it in I get a little bubble saying found new hardware mass storage device, and then anopther bubble says there was a problem installing hardware and the device may not work corretly (which clearly it doesn't!). So he told me to find smeone who is really good with windows (where....?) to sort out my computer so that it recognises it as an ipod and not an external hard drive, aparently there is a way to do this. I do have someone coming to check it oput tonight, if they can solve the problem then I will let you know how they do it!
Sorry can't be any more help but I suppose it's good to know there's someone else in the same situation!!!!

  • I have an existing iPod account and now have a new nano but my existing account will not recognise the nano. How can I get this to recognise my new device?

I have an existing account with an iPod classic device. I now have a new nano and want to add this as a secondary device. However when I connect this my account will not recognise the new device. How do I resolve this?

I have 4 iPods all utilizing iTunes on the same computer.  If you open iTunes and THEN connect the new nano, it should automatically recognize it.  Does it give you an error message?

  • PowerMac G4 OS 10.4.11 will not recognise RAW images on a SDHC card but it will see JPGs why?

    Question:
I have a PowerMac G4 OS10.4.11.  I have recently bought a Lumix LX5 camera and it uses an SDHC card.  My Mac will not recognise RAW image files stored on it either by plugging the camera into a USB slot or by using a USB card reader.  Can anyone tell me how to overcome this problem?

    Thanks for that,
I downloaded RPP and it does indeed open the RAW files and lets me convert them into TIFFs or JPGs which I can then import into Photoshop to play with.  However I'm still confused about why I can't open them in Photoshop directly.  My other camera is a SLR saving to a SanDisk Extreme lll Compact Flash card and I can open RAW files off that on the same computer with no problem using a Photoshop RAW converter plug-in.

  • IPhoto does not recognise camera since synching with new iPhone

Ever since I've setup my new iPhone, Iphoto will not recognise my camera (Panasonic DMC-FX36); even though it recognises the iPhone camera OK. I've previously used the Panasonic camera without a problem and this has only started happening since synching the iPhone for the first time (not sure if this is coincidence or not).
I can't find anything in iPhoto that suggests any settings have changed... I've also tested an older camera (Canon iX series) and found the same problem.
Most frustrating as I have a heap of photo's of my newborn daughter and no way to share them... and a sinking feeling that I may lose them... any suggestions appreciated.
    Cheers

Thanks, I should have mentioned that I've tried Image Capture without luck...i.e. no device connected. The Camera actually asks for the prompt PC or Pictbridge... I've always selected PC, now the camera just freezes after I select the PC option... I have a card reader in my printer, but same problem, device not recognised.... Do you suspect it would be the camera or the iPhoto app?

  • My macbook will not recognise USB devices, Help!

My macbook pro with OS Yosemite will not recognise USB devices such as tom toms, digital voice recorders or cameras.  I find this frustrating as I can not update or download to my macbook.  Any ideas on what I can do?

Have you checked the settings in FINDER PREFERENCES?
Have you checked with the respective vendors to determine compatibility with your MBP?
    Ciao.
