  • Skype settings are saved where?

I am trying to figure out where my Skype settings are located so if I have to do a complete OS reinstall, I don't have to manually go into Skype and spend 15 minutes reconfiguring it.  I'm actually trying to do that with most of my apps and back that data up.  I looked in the registry but there's not much there under the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Skype hive- mostly installer items.  Couldn't find anything of value in C:\Program Files or Program Data folders either.  I'm thinking that Skype probably uses some kind of xml file but it's whereabouts elude me.

  • Skype settings yosemite 10.10.1

I am currently running skype on my macboons air with yosemite 10.10.1 and I have it set to launch when the computer starts. I would like to go into setting and change that as well as not being  notified when a user comes on line and get rid of that annoying slider in the upper right corner of my screen. Does anyone know how to change the settings for it?
    Thanks in advance

    Hey Kappy!
    Thanks for your reply!
I just tried that and this is what I got. I do not understand!! Is it saying that I don't have the program? I opened Finder to show that I do have the program installed in my computer. Should I update to an older version before updating to this new one? I do not remember when was the last time I updated it....

  • Serious breach of Privacy Settings in MSN for Skyp...

I am not the first to post about this serious flaw, and as long as it isn't fixed, I will definitely not be the last.
My Skype settings are set to only allow conversations from my contacts. However, I am on a daily basis spammed by unknown users through the MSN integration.
I can 'remove them' from my contact list, even though they should not be there in the first place.
    I cannot block them.
    I cannot report them.
I use Skype as a profession chat tool where I work, and have always been very happy for it. However, this obvious error is driving me nuts. My work day is constantly interrupted, and according to my settings, I should not be.
Personally I see this as a serious breach of my privacy settings, and something I expect Skype to fix immediatly.

I also am getting a serious amount of emails at the moment, just woke up to 127 in my email account on top of that I have had money scammed from my account and have been overcharged in the not even two months since i have started using skpe. i would like to be CONTACTED  by SKYPE to fix this asap. Especially since I cannot contact Skype  by phone or direct email......and I am not going to sort through 127 emails to find your answer. Please ring me to sort this or i shall have to contact fraud sqad to fix this PROBLEM>

  • Skype hangs when I login with my ID

    Hi
I have two skype accounts. One for office and one personal. Till yesterday I was able to use both. Today am able to login to skype using my office ID but when I login using my personal skype ID ([Removed for privacy]) skype stops responding. I am able to login using this ID on my phone. I uninstalled and installed skype again, changed my password, but nothing seems to work. Please look into this issue.
I can also login to skype.com using this ID and post this topic.
    Thanks

Try to reset all Skype settings.
Quit Skype or use Windows Task Manager to kill any Skype.exe process. Go to Windows Start and in the Search/Run box type %appdata% and then press Enter or click the OK button. The Windows File Explorer will pop up. There locate a folder named “Skype”. Rename this folder to something different, e.g. Skype_old.
If you are on the latest Skype 6.5/6.6/6.7/6.9/6.10/6.11/6.13/6.14 version, then do also this:
Go to Windows Start and in the Search/Run box type %temp%\skype and then press Enter or click the OK button. Delete the DbTemp folder.
    Restart Skype.
N.B. If needed, you will still be able to re-establish your call and chat history. All data is still saved in the Skype_old folder.

  • One of my Skype accounts won't work...

Hey, I have two accounts. One is for family and friends and one is for gaming in a skype call with friends over the internet. My personal one (friends/family) works fine no problem at all. My gaming one will not work, about 2 months ago I stopped recieving messages/calls and could no longer send messages/calls either. I have been accessing both accounts from the same computer. One works the other won't. I know my gaming account is safe because I can log onto it fine from the app on my phone. I have password and everything secure. I can recieve messages/calls and send messages and calls from the app. This is really annoying as I need to use my computer for these things...
I have Avast and Malwhare checker installed.
    Please help

    Okay!
I'm newbie here, but it doesn't matter. I dont want to do here anything else, just write off my opinion about the Microsoft's "new" Skype, and I hope they will read...
This is a cropped image - of course hungarian, because I'm hungarian, but I think many of us could see this as well. How this is possible? "The Skype can not start because the system is not available" *** What kind of system? The Skype was on a P2P system, where is impossible that the system is not available! This is why the skype was much better than the Microsoft's messenger. Then they bought it, and make it wrong...
I found a solution for this problem, this can happen if my client is not updated. But IT IS!
How does it works? Can we use the **bleep** Skype how we would like to use? Or this time we need to find an other application (like Viber), and using that while they not buying that as well, just because that is better?

  • Skype 7.0 is not picking up my voice after a black...

So basically what happened was I was skyping with my friend fine and suddenly PC got shut off due to a blackout. After a restart, my Skype (7.0) won't pick up my voice anymore. Only Skype won't pick up my voice. Steam, GTalk, Windows Setting all can pick up my voice. Tried to switch to front audiojack panel and it seems to work fine but quality is kinda bad (Skype 7.0 is not picking up my voice if my mic is plugged into the rear audiojack panel).
    Things I've tried:
    Reinstalling audio driver
    Reset Skype settings
Clean reinstallation of Skype (Using Revo Uninstaller to uninstall)
    Reinstalled Windows (Full Format)
I'm currently using Skype 6.14 which apparently is able to pick up my voice. Adviced needed :/

USB or not doesn't matter. People usually have trouble getting the mic working because they use USB cards which are not the default of their systems, so you can try the said fixes, it should work.
For skype, did you check the Skype settings for where it inputs/outputs? Skype might be trying to use PulseAudio even if you don't have it...
You can try setting the default device in your asoundrc:
    pcm.!default {
    type hw
    card 0
    ctl.!default {
    type hw
    card 0
Replace "card 0" with the correct card, like "card 2,1" or "card 1".
