Skype To Go ... Area Codes

I would like to have different Area Codes for my Skype To Go Numbers ... is this possible ??
It seems the Nearest Location (Area Code) is applied to all my Skype To Go Numbers ... I would prefer to set the Area Codes individually.

Skype Number: No area code for Cape Town, South Af...

On the drop down for skype number area code selection for south africa, Cape Town does not appear, only Joburg, Pretorai and Durban.
Cape Town is the 'mother' city - the legislative capital of SouthAfrica. There should be no pronvicial restrictions like with US states, so why no area code?

Unfortunately, if the particular exchange you wish to have for a Skype Number does not appear on the list, then it is truly not available for any number of legitimate reasons. Check back periodically to see if the exchange becomes available; Skype does not announce when a fresh batch of Skype Numbers are newly added.

Skype number for area code not listed

Hi, I'd like to use the Skype number service for the UK, but there's only one number is Wales and that's Cardiff (02921), which is 100 miles away. Is there a way to get a more local Skype number (01558 or 01267)?

Skype does not announce when new exchanges are added to the list or pool of available numbers from which we can choose. Instead, we need to check back periodically to see if the exchange we desire has become available.

Skype to Go doesn't have area code 415

Hi I want to use Skype to Go from my landline which has area code (415), but this area code is not available in the list of Skype to Go area codes. I have been using Skype to Go for years under a different area code but have recently relocated. If Skype cannot provide me with a (415) number it will render Skype useless to me, and I would need to discontinue my subscription and start using Google Voice. Hence please help me stay with Skype by providing me with a Skype to Go number with (415) area code. Thank you.

The 415 area code is very popular and our numbers providers in the US don't have these in inventory anymore. Instead, we have numbers starting with 650. If 650 numbers are covered by your landline operator then you can of course also use those (FYI if you have free national calling then it doesn't matter where in the US you get your Skype To Go number).

Unfortunately, Skype Numbers are not available for all exchanges, area codes, or even all states in the USA and all countries. We need to choose a Skype Number based upon what is listed at the time we are searching, or check back regularly to see if a particular exchange has been added to the list.

Skype to Go - Home Area Code not listed in set up

I live in the 807 area code in Canada and it is not listed when I try to set up my skype to go number(s). Is this a glitch, or is the service not available in all areas?

My skype to go numbers are located in Halifax, all of Nova Scotia is one area code. That is not a local call for me, more like $0.75/min. Can I change to a truely local number in this area code?

when you call a Skype To Go from a phone that has not been authorized/registered, you are challenged for a PIN number to prove you are the owner of the STG number
the PIN number (a 4-digit code) is set in your account where you see Skype To Go -- best to sign in at http://www.skype.com

Skype Number with a different Area Code

Good afternoon Ladies and Gents.
I'm from Brazil, and today I tried to create a Skype Number, because I work offshore, and on the Rig, it is not possible to call numbers with different area codes.
My question is:
I'm from Rio de Janeiro(Area Code 21), but I would need a number from Macaé (Macaé is a city of Rio de Janeiro state), and its code is 22, but I have no option to choose another area code, because 21 is only for Rio de Janeiro city, and I have to select Rio de Janeiro(state), but cannot select the area code. Is it possible to create a number with the Macaé area code (something like +55 22 4002-6663)?

Yes the Skype number is attached to your account no matter what calling subscription you have.
You can stop your UK subscrition and buy the European subscription, maybe even buy the Euro subscription before the UK one runs out if you can't wait.
Skype can recognise multiple subscriptions and charge the call accordingly.

Skype UK area code number

There are only 30-odd code numbers in the drop-down list that appears when selecting a code prefix number for the UK. There used to be an (033) catch-all, trans-UK number but that is no longer on the list. I'm 10 miles from Bath and Warminster -- but there is no code offered for my town, although businesses here do have Skype numbers that reflect the BT coding system. How do I get the code I want? (I'd prefer 033 as I tend to move house every once in a while.)

Hi. Wanted to set up a Skype number with the area code, 316, from my hometown of Wichita, Kansas. And, but, that area code doesn't appear on the pulldown menu. Any help? Have a feeling I'm being dumb and missing something obvious, but that's the trouble with being dumb -- the obvious isn't.

Unfortunately, if Skype cannot obtain blocks of numbers from the telephone service providers, then that is how there can be holes in the lists of available numbers. There can be several legitimate reasons why this occurs. As Joanna noted, above, we need to check back on occasion.

Not Showing area code for USA SkyPe Number

they asks fro "Step 1: State"
2 .After Selecting State they asks for number. "Step 2: Number"
3. There is no area code in "Select area code" Drop Down box.

Can not get area code for skype number

I am trying to purchase skype number in the Uk the city is Belfast. In the drop down menu there is no area code for Belfast. I have even tried Ireland still nothing.

Skype Number setup for USA loading blank Area Code...

Is there a glitch with Skype Number set up for the USA? I am trying to get a Skype Number and when I get to the "Select State" and enter "California", no Area code options come up (it is blank) so I cannot continue.

Skype does its best to obtain a wide range of numbers, however in some cases numbers are not available everywhere. Whatever numbers appear on the list of choices are all that we have available to us. In other words, you could contact Skype Customer Service to request a specific area code to be added, however it could take weeks or months to appear on the list -- if available at all.

How to change skype area code?

How can I change my area code from 954 to 305?

Simply order another Skype Number at the area code that you require. You can have up to 10 Skype Numbers associated with your account. Then just cancel the old number and it will be deactivated when your last payment for it expires. If you wish to deactivate the old number immideately and get a refund for the unused time you paid for, contact Skype CS.
