Skype to go - India to US

I am in India and have an unlimited subscription for US calls since around a year.. I usually call my girl friend in US to her cell phone from my skype account (from my pc). Is there a way I can call to from my cell phone itself without signing in to skype, but using my subscription. Thing is that, I do not have skype or internet on my phone, so whenever I want to call her, I have to sign in to skype from a pc and call her. Just looking if there is a way to call her even when I am away from pc and internet, obviously using skype subscription.

I'm afraid that SkypeToGo isn't available in India.
However, if you both had a Skype compatable cellphone all your Skype-to-Skype calls would be free.

Skype numbers are based on availability which can be due to contracts and whether a particular country authorizes Skype numbers to exist in their country. If Skype is unable to obtain numbers in a particular country, I highly doubt there is much than can be done.

Skype call to India

Hi, Since I am from India I am not able to make any call to Indian mobile and landline numbers. I found the below message in the help section. As of 10 November 2014, if you are in India, calling from Skype to mobiles and landlines within India will unfortunately no longer be available.This change only affects Skype calls to landlines and mobiles; you can still make free Skype-to-Skype calls within India, and you can still call mobiles and landlines in India from outside the country (as well as make calls from India to other countries) You can also use any Skype Credit you currently have to use Skype WiFi or to send SMS messages to your contacts. Next week I will be travelling to US and I might need to make some calls to Indian landline and mobile numbers from the US airport. As per the above message by skype I will be able to make calls to Indian numbers from outside India. My question is, if I am at a place outside India how will Skype know that I am calling from outside India ? Do I need tochange any region settings or any other settings in my mobile or profile. Guys, I want to buy Skype phone in India with Indian number. I tried to purchase the product online whereas the product can only be delivered to Canada & US. Is it true that Skype phone is not available in India?

These are the downloads and the settings you need in order to view/hear pretty much everything that the net can throw at you: The setup described below has proved repeatedly successful on both PPC and Intel macs, but nothing in life carries a guarantee!

In Quicktime Preferences, under advanced, UNcheck Enable Flash, and under Mime settings/Miscellananeous only check Quicktime HTML (QHTM).
In Macintosh HD/Library/Quicktime/ delete any files relating to DivX (Perian already has them).
Now go to Safari Preferences/Security, and tick the boxes under Web Content (all 4 of them).
Lastly open Audio Midi Setup (which you will find in the Utilities Folder of your Applications Folder) and click on Audio Devices. Make sure that both Audio Input and Audio Output, under Format, are set to 44100 Hz.
Important: Now repair permissions and restart.

Well, I got the informtion that after Nov 10, Skype users will not able to call India-Based Phones.
Please temme the reason.

If your country, which in this case is India, does not appear on the list of available countries, then it is truly as simple as that. Skype Numbers are unfortunately not available everywhere due to regulatory, legal, or other issues.

Skype Call to India Subscription Rates

Hello, I am currently in Germany and would like to take Monthly Subscription plan, but when I search @ https://www.skype.com/en/rates/?nu=subs-calling with India (or even any other country) No subsription plan is visible. I tried all other internal links on the page as well but could not find any rates or subscription details. Please inform how can I purchase and low tariff plan for India. Regards,

My Skype subscription for India calling is not wor...

Hi, I recently purchased Skype India calling for 2500min/month subscription. My problems are listed below;
1. The subscription is unfortunately not working at all. I tried on couple of mobile numbers, its sometimes connecting but no voice. Only one time I was able to connect to land line number and the voice was OK, but still not so good clarity.
2. I am not able to use this subscription feature in my Android mobile (Galaxy S4), to call mobile numbers or land line number are not possible at all my Skype mobile.
Please help me find a solution for it. My normal Skype video and voice calls are working fine in my Laptop and also in my Android mobile but the subscription is not working. If there is no solution or official communication I have to cancel subscription, why should I unnecessarily pay to Skype.
Any suggestion or help is appreciated greatly.

First of all thanks for your reply and also you mentioned something PSTN/Cellular network etc etc how the Skype is working. But look here my problem is why this is happening, the subscription name itself India calling then Skype should be able to tieup or catch up with the local Indian carrier, isn't it? How do I know that the local carrier is supporting or not? I need a solution not the reason, yeah it is good to know the reason but what I will do with the reason here; it is beyond my doing. If this is the genuince reason for the failure then Skype is making false statement and fooling around the customers saying you can call Indian Mobile and land lines by this subscription, which is clearly not happening.
Please let me know if there is anything can be done on this issue, yours time and effort is appreciately greatly.

Redirect Skype Number Calls to Phone.

I want to redirect calls of my skype number to my Phone in India. Also, dont want the Skype calls should redirect. Only Skype Number Calls should be redirected. Please tell me how to do it?

US Number from India- Help?

Can I have a US skype number from India which I can activate and use from different parts of India?
Can my skype number be accessed from different parts of India at the same time? If so, how will an incoming call be attended?

From your post I gather you are in India and you need some sort of phone for your parents that they can use to call US.
First regarding subscription, it doesn't matter where you are located. If you have a subscription that includes calls to US then you can use it to call US landlines and mobiles. Subscriptions are available here: http://www.skype.com/go/subscriptions
Majority of Skype Certified phones can be used with subscriptions and phones are available here: http://shop.skype.com/
If in your location you don't have a phones available then you can check with your local retailer if they have like for example Dualphone RTX 3088: http://dualphone.net/DUALphone_3088_for_Skype-789.aspx
This phone can be connected to router and used with subscriptions.
As I'm not from India myself it's hard for me to tell what exactly is available regarding hardware, but when you do purchase a phone please make sure it is Skype certified and you can ask from the retailer if it works with subscriptions.

The option to add $5/€5/£5 when purchasing a calling subscription is ticked by default. This will allow you get additional €5 Skype Credit that will enable you to send SMS or call phone numbers which is not covered by the calling subscription you purchased.
This can be unchecked before proceeding with the purchase itself.
