  • Open source SFTP Client

    Hi,
    Im looking for an open source SFTP Client.
    Ive downloaded commons-net-ftp-2.0.0.jar from http://people.apache.org/~rwinston/commons-net-2.0/.
    It is very useful and has support for FTP and FTPS protocols but I need to have support for SFTP protocol too.
    So any update in this regard is highly helpful to me and the same is highly appreciated.
    Im looking NOT for any graphical or command line,kind of implementation.
    Im expecting a jar like commons-net-ftp-2.0.0.jar which I can as use as part of (server side) java applications.

    Thunderbird is based on XULRunner, which is a lot of C++. And Thunderbird itself is a mix of C++, JavaScript and XUL.

  • I Need Information about  Open Source Java Client/Server Instant Messaging

    I need your valuable help and collaboration with the following issue:
    I need to know where can find a robust Open Source Java Instant Messaging Client/Server Application.
    I thank in advance for their valuable time. And for the attention and the collaboration lent to me.

    I was going to mention that right off, but since the OP is clearly unaware of the search engines on the Web, I thought I'd give him a hand. Jabber works pretty good - I tried it a while back and some of the clients were ... quirky.

  • EBS forms not opening in Linux client machine

    Hi all,
    In our network some client machines are linux (redhat 4) and when we access the EBS (11.5.10) thru browser (Mozilla firefox) , it works until clicking icon for forms.
    There is no java applet opening. What should we do invoke oracle apps forms.
    regards
    ravi

    There is no jinit for Linux. You need to configure the Linux instance to open the 1.5.0 sun java plugin that you have installed on your Linux client machine.
    The resolution is in the link provided by hsawwan:
    Go to $APPL_TOP/admin, and in sid_host.xml ($CONTEXT_FILE),
    replace
    <sun_plugin_ver oa_var="s_sun_plugin_ver">1.4.2_04</sun_plugin_ver>
    with
    <sun_plugin_ver oa_var="s_sun_plugin_ver">1.5.0_13</sun_plugin_ver>
    Then run autoconfig.
    Or cd to $OA_HTML/bin and edit appsweb_sid_host.cfg:
    Search for the lines:
    ; 4a) Sun JDK Plugin Parameters
    ; These parameters define the Sun's java plug-in to be used
    sun_plugin_mimetype=application/x-java-applet;jpi-version=1.4.2_04
    sun_plugin_classid=clsid:CAFEEFAC-0014-0002-0004-ABCDEFFEDCBA
    sun_plugin_url=http://host.domain:port/OA_HTML/oajinit.exe
    sun_plugin_version=1.4.2_04
    sun_plugin_legacy_lifecycle=false
    change the 1.4.2_04 entries to 1.5.0_13
    sun_plugin_mimetype=application/x-java-applet;jpi-version=1.5.0_13
    sun_plugin_classid=clsid:CAFEEFAC-0015-0000-0013-ABCDEFFEDCBA
    sun_plugin_url=http://host.domain:port/OA_HTML/oajinit.exe
    sun_plugin_version=1.5.0_13
    And bounce apache and forms server.
    This way, WIndows users still open with Jinitiator. This change has no effect for Windows users.

  • Titan Eclipse plug-ins released in open source

    Dear all,
    we are happy to announce that the source code of Eclipse plug-ins, after being migrated to ANTLR 4, has been released in github, see https://github.com/eclipse/titan.EclipsePlug-ins,
    together with a number of new test ports and protocol modules.
    The Eclipse plug-in installable package can be downloaded from https://www.eclipse.org/downloads/download.php?file=/titan/TITAN_Designer_and_Executor_plugin-5.3.pl1-opensource.zip
    , and it contains all external dependencies of the plug-ins not available in Eclipse directly (not part of an Orbit package).
    It is a zipped update site, which , when downloaded , can be unpacked and used as a local update site to install the plug-ins.
    With this, the open sourcing project of Titan can be considered completed.
    Eclipse Titan consists of the compilation and execution environment, including native codecs for BER , generic binary, generic text, XML, JSON,
    plus a number of utilities for log handling, XML schema conversion etc. (see https://github.com/eclipse/titan.core);
    the afore-mentioned set of Eclipse plug-ins (Designer to assist in developing TTCN-3 code; Executor to control execution from Eclipse;
    LogViewer to represent logs in a graphical format; Titanium to assist in code refactoring, code smell detection etc.)
    plus a tool-box which at the moment consists of 17 test ports and 33 protocol modules with different encodings and a library of external functions.
    Depending on requests, more protocol modules and test ports could be released later.
    Titan development will continue internally within Ericsson, but we hope for contributors, either for TTCN-3 code,
    or for Titan core/plug-ins and test ports/protocol modules respectively, especially for domains not yet covered by Titan.
    On behalf of the Ericsson Titan developer team

  • Need Open Source Sip client(user agent)

    Hi,
    Can any one tell me where to find and open sourse sip client which has the facility to call PC to PC ,PC along with IM(messanging).
    I have tried the SIP-Communicator that is not good.
    If You have the code please forword me or let me know .
    My mail id is [email protected]
    pramod.

    hello,
    for the last 4 weeks I struggling to know how to make my mjUA working for voice communication. Thanks God, I found your message that sent last year.
    Now I use a free VoIP registrar server (just like free world dialup), but my mjUA can't make any call through that server although my mjUA can register to that server successfully.
    my question is:
    - is mjUA can be run using free registrar server? or I must use the MJSIP server?
    - for the audio tools, I use the JMF (not RAT) without any change on mjUA. Is that right choice?
    - can you send me the really working configuration file (such as a.cfg on config folder)?
    I'm so desperate because this UA's is the key for my final project. And I hope you can help me.

  • Can I connect open source evolution mail client to an OCS Mail Server?

    Hi.
    I'm trying to configure an evolution mail client to connect to OCS Mail Server. The idea would be to evaluate this solution over costly MS Outlook. I'm aware that Oracle provides a connector for outlook client and that this facility might offer certain functionality not available with other mail clients. So far, i can connect, send and receive mails. However i can't access the distribution list in Oracle Mail Server, or put in other words, i can't access the OID. Evolution offers the option to connect to an ldap server, but i've not been able to connect. The guys as Metalink tell me that if this client can connect to an ldap server one could accessed the distribution list in OID.
    So :
    - Has anyone out there tried to connect this mail client or any other open source mail client to OCS Mail Server?.
    - Can evolution client really connect to an ldap server? one like OID?.
    Thanks in advance ...!

    Hello Luis!
    I have in the past used different mail clients to connect to the OCS. So as a fact as long as they speak POP3 or IMAP you should be capable of reading your mails.
    However I did not try to use the distribution lists.
    What exactly is not working with the connection to the OID (LDAP) from the Evolution client?
    Did you try to set the logging in the OID to a higher value? This helped me lots of times when dealing with OID problems.

  • What do you think open source software is missing?

    What do you think open source software is missing? Can be any general gripe, missing tools, missing support, etc.
    I'm waiting for a skype replacement with a windows and linux client. I only use the video and voice functionality.

    @ ngoonee
    [I don't consider it OT, so I write it here - hope that OP doesn't mind]
    Wrt Paul Davis, he seems to get $4-5k/month now so things are looking up a bit for him. Who's to blame if the community isn't able to come up with enough support for it's prime members? Also, there are parts of the world where you can live rather comfortably on $4k/month. You just have to beware of the dragons ;-)
    Open Source is a lot like socialism: work as hard as you can, get as much as you need. In theory, it could work: some would eat 2x the avg but work 5x the avg while others would be the other way round. In practise ... People are lazy, people are evil.
    Why should they pay for sth if they don't have to? Why should they be interested in GNU / Linux? Because it's free? Hey, I've got tons of "free" apps, piracy ahoy! (Or should I say "arrrrr")
    Maybe that's the reason many 'big names' went to work for Microsoft: their dignity didn't allow them to beg for support.

  • Linux client planned?

    hello, is a linux client planned? i'm using ubuntu and currently use https://bitmask.net/ which gives me an easy to use, non-leaking, always-on and open source vpn client.unfortunately they don't support ipv6 just yet. this leaves me w/o vpn at places with DS-lite/ipv4 over NAT. just the raw openvpn configuration files would be nice too.and please consider open sourcing your clients, that would be a good move.

    I add my vote for Linux. Anyone who is half serious about privacy is certain to be using (or contemplate using) Linux over Windows. I'd argue that your market share percentage of Linux users is far more than the share you're getting from Windows users.  As OP said, there's an open source client aready, bitmask.  You don't have to reinvent the wheel. Focus development on that client instead of creating your own. After all, you're generating revenue from the servers bandwith, not the client. And no one is going to take that client for themselves anytime soon. Please re-evaluate the option. The post-Snowden mindset has penetrated many homes by now. It's a win-win situation. You already have everything to sell, just need the means to sell. Even users trust is established already.

  • Logging with whereabouts using open source and freeware

    You can find the html version of this at:
    http://www.acelet.com/whitepaper/loggingWithWhereabouts.html
    Logging with whereabouts using open source and freeware
    The purpose of logging is to find out what had happened when needed. When the
    time comes to read log messages, you want to know both the log message and its
    whereabouts (class name, method name, file name and line number). So you need
    to hard code whereabouts.
    But hard coded whereabouts are very difficult to maintain: when you modify your
    source code, line number changes; when you copy and paste a line, its class name
    and method name change. If whereabouts are wrong, you introduce bugs in your logging
    logic and the log messages are useless at the best.
    This article shows you an example of using freeware Redress tool to rectify whereabouts
    programmatically in your Makefile or Ant build file. So your whereabouts are always
    correct for both Java and JSP source file.
    Redress tool is part of SuperLogging at http://www.ACElet.com. SuperLogging also
    provides an open source wrapper Alog.java, which redirects log method calls to
    your favorite logging package. Redress tool can rectify whereabouts information
    on all Alog's method calls in your application. So, if you call Alog's log methods,
    these calls will be rectified by Redress.
    JDK 1.4 introduces a new utility package java.util.logging. The example in this
    article is based on JDK logging. Log4J is a cousin of JDK logging. Log4J users
    should have no difficulties to modify this example for Log4J. Both JDK logging
    and Log4J are excellent logging software for single JVM.
    Note: Redress tool rectifies method calls on Alog, not JDK logging. You need to
    call Alog instead of JDK logging in your application.
    Source code of Alog.java
    The following is the source code of Alog's JDK logging version. It serves as an
    library file and should be on your CLASSPATH:

    "wrongFileName", -1);
    How to run the test program
    1. Compile Alog.java (JDK 1.4 or later, not before):
    javac Alog.java
    2. Download freeware Redress tool from http://ACElet.com/freeware.
    3. Run Redress tool:
    java -cp redress.jar Test.java
    4. Check Test.java. The Alog.log method call should be rectified.
    5. Run test program:
    java Test
    You should see log message with correct class name and method name.

  • Is JavaFX open-source ?

    A simple question : Now that the 1.0 version is here, is JavaFX open-source, and if so, under which licence ?
    Edited by: Traroth on Dec 4, 2008 7:24 AM

    Traroth,
    Let me add some details to my previous post.
    I think people don't appreciate the effort and difficulties involved in open sourcing a complex piece of software. Questions you have to ask yourself are:
    - Who is going the use the open source code and for what purpose? And how does that affect the goals and methodology?
    - Which parts of the stack do I own and can I release as open source? And what are the legal implications?
    - If there are 3rd party components I can't release - are there open source alternatives to fill the holes?
    - Without any alternatives to fill in for the 3rd party components, is the remaining open source code functional enough to be worthwhile?
    - What license am I going to use and does that license match the expectations of the open source project?
    - What related open source projects do I anticipate to interoperate and integrate with and what are the licensing aspects of that?
    - What model of participation and code accessibility works best for the goals?
    - How do I ensure the code that is in the open source remains up-to-date and useful?
    - Are forks acceptable and if yes, how does that impact the project?
    - Do I have resources maintain the open source code base?
    - Do I want to build a developer community around the code and if yes, what is the participation model for the community?
    - Have you double-checked the code and covered all the legal aspects necessary for a release into the open source?
    - etc.
    I think you get the idea. If you want to create a successful open source project all these questions need to be answered. And one major issue, as rexguo correctly points out, is that a major component of JavaFX (video and audio support) comes from a 3rd party vendor. Are there open source alternatives that could be used instead? If yes, how can that be implemented? If not, is JavaFX useful without high-performance cross-platform video/audio support?
    These are all points that need to be considered. Doing open source right is hard and takes time. That's not to hand-wave or preempt the discussion - it's just a reality.
    Hope that helps,

  • Open sourcing the skype for linux UI AGAIN

    i remember from some time ago i read something about the skype for linxu UI being open sourced to make supporting linux distro easier. but then microsoft bought skype. and now there is a closed source UI. please open source the UI so the comunity can fix the broken UI in skype for linux to a proper qt interface. the current qt web interface is annoying

    It should look the same as all the other apps.  Which is what most Linux users expect.  Qt does offer on-the-fly theming, so if someone feels adventurous they can change it; and indeed the lack of 64 bit often results in some missing themes and Skype running in not exactly the same theme as the rest of the desktop.  But otherwise, we shouldn't make Skype4Linux stick out like a sore thumb.

  • Open source video chat from linux to iphone?

    I would like to find an open source video chat client that I can run on my Arch laptop that will allow me to video chat with friends running iOS.  Is there such a thing? Skype is not open source. Googlechat is not open source.

    Hi,
    I'm in the same situation. Do you ever found a solution? I only need direct communication, point to point, chatrooms or something are not needed but nice to have.
    Skype is not a solution neither is Google Hangouts.
    I came across Mumble. I thought at first you can create channels for yourself on public servers but unfortunately not. Most servers won't allow you to create a channel for yourself. So your best bet here is to run your own server (which means additional expenses for me).
    Ekiga seems nice but there is no iOS client.
    The closest thing so far is Linphone, which has clients for Linux and iOS, but you need a SIP account somewhere.
    Any experiences with this?
    Thanks for any input.
