Skype to skype free calling?

I have a subscription to call DR. However, isn't skype to skype calling and video calling free? My friend went online and logged into skype and we chatted for about 1.5 hours. I checked my DR Subscription and it deducted my minutes. Again, isn't skype to skype free? How can I get my mintues credited back to my subscription? Please help. I am not computer savy and I kind of feel like I was just taken advantaged of robbed of my money.

Cyprus isn't available as a free country calling destination but you can purchase a Subscription or Skype Credit by typing in "Cyprus" here: http://www.skype.com/en/rates/

I have office 365 and activated to skype free calls it shws i have a subscribtion and 60min free but when i try to call first my credis were gone and after that it shows that i have to buy more credits.
When i try to buy once more credits it shows that i allready have this subscibtion.

Your account shows that you were attempting to call a Lithuania cellphone. Your free minutes are for calls to landlines only. To call cellphones you need to purchase Skype Credit.

Calls between Skype users are always free of any charge; if your calls require credit (or ask for a subscription), this means you are placing calls to fixed or land lines or mobile numbers, which require credit or a subscription to pay for the call charges.
You do not need to "change" your account; simply add those to whom you wish to call to your Skype contacts list. They will need to create their own Skype accounts in order to do this. Skype premium making free calls to the USA

Hello everybody
I have skype premium for a month offered by Skype, and I'm wondering why am I being able to call to USA's mobiles for free. I checked on my skype account, and not a cent in being charged, although I can not call to anywhere else in the world. If I don't have any skype credits, is there any way they are charging me for those calls to the USA??
Does skype premium have that thing that I can call for free to a country I choose?? I may have chosen USA and I don't remember maybe??
I keep looking on my Account witch country I've chosen for free calls, but I can't find it..

Could somebody please explain how I can make a free call to another skype member? I called a skype contact on his mobile phone through skype using my smartphone and I was charged for this call? When is a call free?

Free call apps such as Skype, Viber...

In Korea, recently, KT(Korea Telecom)try to prevent some free call apps such as Skype, Viber. This company announced a new fare policy a few days ago.
It says that if u wanna use VoIP like Skype, you have to pay more for the basic charge. U know, It so bad... Until now, we've been using that freely.
How about your country ?
Does your mobile communication company prevent that ?

I have version 2.1.2 of the Skype app I downloaded from the US iTunes store, and it will allow me to make voice calls over the 3G network. I have used this a few times, but don't generally do that as I already have over 3000 "roll-over" minutes, average less than 30 minutes used each month, and have the lowest minute package I can get. I don't really have a need to reduce my minutes used. Also keep in mind that in the US if you don't have a "grandfathered" unlimited data plan you may cost yourself more in data usage than you would pay for minutes used.
Also, I have not followed-up too closely, but Skype was talking about needed some form of subscription for using the mobile app. I also like how they have a clause that if you are on Verizon, then your Skype calls use your voice minutes and not data usage anyway...

Skype provides two methods of paying for outgoing calls to fixed or mobile numbers: a Skype subscription or Buy Skype credit. Skype-to-Skype calls are always free of charge.
In the case of Skype Credit, the cost of the call is debited from your balance as the call progresses. When you reach the equivalent of "2" in whatever currency your account is set to, the credit will attempt to "top up," or the call will drop. In the case of a subscription, the subscription covers the cost of the outbound calls.

Can I Use Skype Free Minutes From a Mobile Phone

Can you use Skype free minutes (provided with Office365) to call FROM a mobile phone? When I check the free minutes online, I see that they are active on my Skype account, but my Android mobile app does not show any Skype credit?

If your iPad Mini is a cellular model, you can use Skype (and buy a block of minutes). If only wireless, you can also use Skype on a wireless connection. It saved the day when I forgot my iPhone and needed to make a call. Skype sells phone numbers, but I've never gone that route.

Go to the Apple app store and look for skype for iPad and download it. It is a free app atleast in the US. The only time you are required to have credit is if you want to make calls to a phone from skype but then again rules can differ from country to country since they are governed by local laws.

Please define a Skype to Skype video call

I keep getting asked for money to make a video call from my PC to my Android smart phone....can't figure it out.

What steps is left out exactly?
I bellieve the: Doubbleclick contact in contact list (Android guy), choose video call button, wait a short while, .....talk in video call, is covred in the faq.
The faq also states that Skype to Skype video calls are free of charge, which they are (cellular data may cost money though).

New iPad 4G internet access lost during Skype video calls, also to all apps...

i have the New (3rd generation) iPad 4G 32 Gb and i noticed that i totally lost internet connection during Skype video calls. The wifi signal is full but loosing the internet connection. Trying other apps like safari after the failure i don't have also internet access. After turninmg off & on afain wifi from iPad's settings everything returns to normal state.
No other wifi problems when not using Skype for iPad, no problems with Facetime or any other application, no problem with any other device, i also have an iPhone 4 and an iPhone 3GS without any connection or internet problems.
Any idea? Is it a Skype problem, or iPad's know wifi problem?

I also noticed the same problem not only using Skype, but with other application also.
Wifi signal is full, but loosing internet connection.

When I try to answer a skype video call from someone, the call is ended before I can get it! As soon as I click on the phone icon or the camera icon, it ends the call. This only happens from one contact.

When I try to answer a skype video call on my Ipad (2nd generation), as soon as I click on the phone or video icon the call is ended. This only happens with one of my contacts. I can video call them without any problem! But not in reverse. Any suggestions???

Poor quality Skype Video Calls with good connectio...

suffering with Poor quality Skype Video Calls and also voice.
My connection is 8 mb Download and .6mp upload, my wife in another country has Fiber so is alot faster again.
I am using Windows 8.1 and also a Ipad Air, same issues on both.
The Windows Pc has a nice microsoft Hd webcam (not one of the cheapones) using a i7 pc with 16g of Ram and a Gaming Graphics Card.
There is very little software on the pc, a couple of games, no itunes, Downloading software and very little running in the background. I use Window Defender and Anti virus and have recently done a re instal of windows and everything is updated driver and software wise, including skype.
The Ipad is the Apple air.
When connecting to my Wife in the Uk the reception isnt great picture wise and after a little while gets bad and also disconects alot and then comes back with a worse picture and call quality. I have even had the bad connection pop up. I have ran speed tests at these points and all are showing fine.
I also have a issue when calling my Dads land line in the uk where he has trouble hearing what im saying, muffled and echos
I am a premium paying customer and started to get a bit frustrated.

@Furgan, in which country are you located? Some countries and ISP-s are shaping Skype traffic. One known country is Saudi Arabia for example.
If would help us if you could please reproduce the issue and provide logs as described in this link https://support.skype.com/en/faq/FA12321/how-do-i-create-log-files under Skype for Windows Desktop and attach it to your post?
