FXO calls disconnect when answered

I've been struggling with this issue for over a month and both I and TAC seem to be stumped.
I have a customer with a small office that we are trying to migrate to a centralized CCM cluster. They have a 1760V with 4 analog lines that we want to connect to an FXO card. When we connect the lines to the router for testing I get the following behavior.
PSTN caller calls into the system.
The IP phone user hears the phone ring and answers the call.
The IP phone user sees the call disconnect After a second or two, the call begins to ring again on the IP phone If the IP phone user answers the call again, the call disconnects and the process repeats The PSTN caller hears ringback the whole time.
The problem seems to be that the router is interpreting a disconnect coming from the telco.

I've talked to the CO guy but he's been little help. I did have them run a ground start trunk for testing but it exibits the same behavior.
I've tried every combination of battery-reversal supervisory disconnect etc... that I can think of but I cannot seem to solve this problem.
TAC does not think its hardware related but I'm going to send a replacement router out just in case.
I'm hoping someone might have some suggestions for me.

I have seen this problem before where the polarity on the wires were reversed and/or the physical wiring is physically 4 pairs instead of 2. The physical wires going into the fxo ports should be 2 wire.
Please have the telco verify that the polarity is not reversed [ make sure that verify/re-verify ] as sometimes they claim to check, but are not diligent enough when checking.
If the gateway is somehow detecting battery-reversal, then it will essentially disconnect the PSTN call leg, which will cause the ip phone to see a disconnect. Next, because the PSTN continues to ring the call, a second call will come in [ from the view of the ip phone ]. To test if battery reversal is causing the problem, you can temporarily disable battery-reversal detection on the voice port by using the following command:
router#test voice port 1/1/0 detector battery-reversal
If after disabling battery-reversal, and this problem dissapears, then there is your problem. Please note that the test voice port command only lasts until the router is rebooted.

Skype not connecting to landline

I have a desk top computer windows 7 operating system. My skype version is 7.1.59.105. When I dial a person from my skype contacts the number dials properly but when it connects to the other phone there is a loud noise and the phone call disconnects. this person has a landline they answer on. I've called this person before and everything worked fine, also I can call other people from my contacts without any problem. This started about a week ogo. Any suggestions? Thanks

I have Skype Premium with unlimited landline calls to Australia. I want to add the 400 minutes to mobiles/landlines to Australia for 19,99e per month.
My question:
Will the 400 minutes only be allocated to Australian mobile calls as I have unlimited landline calls to Australia?

Since your old Unlimited Australia subscription expired because of the payment method having been invalidated your only subscription offering in Australia is the new Skype Premium. Have a look at the minute packages for the new Skype Premium which might serve the purpose for you.

I just learned that you should be able to reactivate your "old" Unlimited Australia subscription like this:
Sign in to your account at www.skype.com/go/myaccount
In the Account details section, select “Subscriptions”
Please check if you see your Unlimited Australia subscription there. By clicking on „Reactivate“ you will be transferred to the payment flow for the subscription. Please see if you see the original rate again using the subscription reactivation option.
On the right side of the page you can see payment information. Click on „Change“ and enter new credit card details and follow the on screen instructions.

Forwarding landline calls to Skype?

Is it possible to forward calls to a number of specific landline numbers to a Skype ID? Our company has several virtual numbers and would want everything to be centralized in our headquartered.
Please help advise on this.

First, you will have to talk with your telephone or I.T. guys/gals about the possibility of forwarding calls from that landline phone. Then you would need to purchase an Online Number for your Skype account, and allow calls from anywhere to that number (in the Privacy settings). Then you could forward those calls. But the main issue will relate to the policy at your office regarding forwarding calls. If the telephone/I.T. people there say it is not possible (ether due to technical limitations of the phone/phone system at the office, or company policy), there is nothing Skype can do to help you out there.

Calls to skype users and land lines not ringing

When making calls from Android tablet or Windownd s 7 PC the call rings at my end but the receiver hears nothing though there is a log of a missed call at the receivers end. This happens when calling Skype users or to a landline.
This has only jsut started to happen and previously all was ok!

I normally live in the United States. I'm studying abroad for a semester in Australia. And instead of carrying two phones I thought it would be a good idea to keep one phone and just get an australian phone number, buy minutes and texts and just do that from my current phone (using phone data through ATT). I ran into a bit of a problem when I tried to open a checking account at a commonwealth bank. They need an australian cell/mobile number to send me texts to do online banking.. and that my australian skype number is a landline number and it won't work in there system even though I'm supposed to be able to receive texts. Can I change my number for a mobile phone style number? Do I have any other options?

How right you are - Skype Numbers are only fixed-line numbers, and neither can a Skype Number receive SMS (text) messages. I do not know any other options for you; if I were overseas for only a semester, and needed to have a local banking account, I would ask the banking institution if they require a full-featured mobile number, or if a pre-paid number and plan would be acceptable. While I cannot think of any particular reason a "burn phone" would not be acceptable, I also know nothing about the Australian banking system security requirements. I appreciate my thoughts here would mean you would be carrying two phones ... I hope you have also checked into your AT&T plan for roaming charges ...

Skype screen goes white during calls and video calls

Hi,
I'm using Windows 8.1 and recently after the latest skype upgrade I'm getting a white screen during regular calls and during video call while I can talk and hear the other side and on the video call the other side can see me. Important to mention that I see the contact list on the left side.
What should I do in order to fix it? (tried reinstalling skype)

Please, run the DirectX diagnostics tool. Go to Windows Start and in the Run box type dxdiag.exe and press the OK button. This will start the DirectX diagnostics program. Before I update, is firefox 27.0.1 compatable with Skype click and call?

Every time I update Firefox I lose Skype click and call and have to wait weeks for access to it again. I now will not update Firefox until I know it is comparable with Skype click and call.

If you need skype and this happens on every update an unoficial solution would be to install Firefox portable ESR as an additional browser and then use that for skype whilst using the fully updated Firefox Release for all other browsing. (Firefox Portable is based on Mozilla Firefox, the ESR version probably will remain compatible with skype and not have problems on updates )

The official solution would be to use Firefox Releases and update Skype. Complaining to Skype as necessary when it is not compatible with the Firefox Releases. Skype will be aware of the Release dates and will be able to test and modify their software as necessary whilst using public pre release versions of Firefox. <br />Presumably Skype is controlled by MS and they would prefer you to always use IE and not use Firefox at all.

Strange numbers calling my Skype number and leavin...

I am getting frequent calls from numbers of format s121732062526477 and leaving video messages sometimes for over 30 min. I can't tell if they are draining my account.
I supposed I could turn off voicemail but I got it for a reason.

Please check this first: in the Windows version of the Skype client software,
Tools -> Options -> Calls -> be sure that Allow calls to my Skype number(s) from... anyone is ticked or checked in -> Save.
Please try your tests again, ensuring that your mobile phone is not already signed on to Skype at the same time.

My questions: is it possible to forward the calls made to the skype number to one (cell) number and the ones to the skype account to different cell? *Or because the skype number and the skype account are associated to one another- I can only foward calls to one (Cell) phone. Skype glitching and not calling

Hi, My skype has been acting very weird for the past couple hours. Whenever I try to call a someone, its brings me to the screen where I'm "pinging" them, but the sound doesn't ring and it doesn't allow me to end it, mute myself or click the plus to add people/files/contacts. I've tried reinstalling skype and checking my wifi settings and all my audio settings. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Try to make a call to someone about whom you are 100% sure that this person is actually Online on Skype. Nowadays, the fact that the status icon is shown as Online, means nothing. Peoples not being Online on their Skype devices are still shown as being Online.
