Skype Translator For Skype

I can not access Skype account on your desktop through outlook Account

There is only one "Skype Translator" app: It's a full screen app following the Windows modern design pattern. So it looks very similar to "Skype for modern Windows" (also referred to as "Metro").
There is no "Skype Translator for Windows desktop" app which would be providing the Translator functionality via the classic Windows desktop app.

  • Skype translator for Mac/iphone/ipad??

Just got email about Skype translator with info about Windows, Microsoft account etc. How about your customers on Mac? Would be nice to add info for them wouldn't it?

I am DEAF, avid user of Skype and have all Apple devices.  I have been waiting for Translator as I need captioning.   Please POST when you get how to download this with my Skype  on Mac. Big thanks in advance as I know that Microsoft & Skype support their Deaf and HOH customers. I can't imagine you would stick it to us just to give up Mac/IOS.  As a business person, I get that you want great consumer adoption of Windows and Microsoft products.  I get it but to hold hostage Deaf and HOH consumers who love and need Skype while having Apple, is just not good business and not in line with Microsoft values.  So I know you will always start with your Microsoft product but know that I am a Microsoft customer too as I have loyalty having bought Office software and continue to do so for decades.  TIA.

It would be amazing if skype can include a translator for the deaf community and provide a translator for them. This would extend the deaf community comunication's via skype with any speaking person not just deaf people.

Great idea, not sure how it would be implementated - would a dialogue box pop up showing ASL hands ?

  • Hardware for Skype Desktop / Home

Have a skype phone number and have been using it very successfully with at old GE Thompson GE 28310EE1 router and 4 GE Phones.  The phones are now acting up and not holding charges or connecting.  I never really like the phones anyway.
I just got a Panasonic KX-PRL262 / KX-PRD262 Link to Cell / Blue-tooth to link to my two cell phones, Love it so far.  I eventually will want 4 or 5 Panasonic Cordless DECT sets, which it will accomadate.  Note:  It has a jack for existing POTS or analog phones, which I do not have.
What I would like to do is configure a way to add or link my skype number to the Panasonic KX-PRL262 / KX-PRD262.  I have not been able to find any information on that.  I have tried running a line from the GE Thompson 28310EE1 router to the KX-PRL262, but it doesn't seem to be recognized.
Anyone know if this is possible to link the KX-PRL262 with my GE router?  Or is there another piece of hardware that could?
My house is wired for a analog phone.  Anyway to use that system, perhaps with some  hardware to link into the Panasonic KP-PRL262?
    Thanks

  • Translations in Skype for Windows

Skype for Windows desktop currently supports more than 38 translations for the user interface. You can easily switch between these built-in language via the menu item "Tools - Change Language". Should you have accidentially switched to a language you do not understand: It's the second menu from the right in the Skype window and the first item within that menu. In case your language is set to a language with right-to-left direction like Arabic or Hebrew it's the second menu from the left:
    Using a custom language file
But there's more than just the built-in translations: Thanks to the outstanding contributions of Skype users all across the world there are additional translations available. Skype Community user  is coordinating these efforts in an online project at Transifex and you can finr more information on that in the topic "Language files for non-official Skype languages available". Have a look there and check if your language is already available or you might be able to contribute by translating a few lines of text.

Well we are already currently looking up the account language based on the registration country. And that's obviously leading to some wrong matches. Previously the language lookup was based purely on the language of the Skype client you first signed up for Skype with. Different, but not much better. We are reworking this for a more consistent "one language per account" approach, but we need to ensure that all touchpoints - from clients to account pages to emails - are using and setting this language profile information consistently. And this is unfortunately taking some time.
I hope with that additional information you can understand the difficulty of such a "simple change".

I had previously installed ST via the company portal. I uninstalled it and went to the Store to get the new ST Preview. The Store says "You own this product and you can install it on this device" (which is a Surface Pro 3 with W10 Preview Build 10061). When I click Install, it thinks for a few seconds, then says "Try that again. See details." When I click See details, I get a popup window that says "Try that again. Something went wrong. The error code is 0x80248008, in case you need it." Anyway, how can I get the latest and greatest ST? And is there a way to get updates automatically?

  • Numbers on the internet translated in Skype Number...

Everywhere on the internet, in my e-mail inbox, in my backaccount, I see normal numbers translated in Skype Numbers with blue letters and a Skype logo. Even if I Google something and it says "there are xxx results" -> if the number is big enough, it will turn in blue letters like if I could call it via Skype.
    It's getting pretty annoying.
Does anyone know, how to turn this off?

Hi, mootje_d_b, and welcome to the Community,
Please check the Skype software advanced settings in whatever version of the Skype software you are using so that the Use Skype to call to links on the web and Use Skype to call tel: links on the web are not checked.  Remember to Save any changes you make to these settings.
Please check also that Skype Click-to-Call is not enabled in your browser.  You may either remove the app from your laptop or computer's software list, or disable the Click-to-Call browser plug-in in your browser's plug-in settings.
    Regards,
    Elaine

  • Skype Translator Preview hangs on first use after install.

Hi, I am trying to install Skype Translator Preview. I downloaded it from the store and have installed it.   It hangs on the first use with the constant circle icon.  I am using Windows 10 tech Preview 10074 build.  I have successufly uninstalled and rebooted and attempted to reinstall with the same issues. What seems to be the problem preventing it from running?

Hi Olivier, I am also experiencing the issue reported by Scottthetravel.  Like Scott I am on the 10074 build and when I launch Skype Translator it just gets stuck on the launch screen with the spinning circle. If it's like other builds of Skype I suspect that it asks for permission to use the microphone/webcam as part of the startup process.  Unfortunately I'm not getting that far - I'm just stuck on the launch splash screen. Like Scott I have also tried uninstalling/shutting down all flavors of Skype (modern, desktop, SFB, etc.), rebooting my machine, etc. and I haven't found a combination that works. I've checked my Sound settings and my Netcom GN 2000 USB headset is listed as the default device for both recording and playback. Any other thoughts on other things we should be trying? Sam

  • Skype translator exist from Windows Mobil Phone ??...

Skype translator exist from Windows Mobile Phone an Microsoft 8.1 Mobile ???

I've been having exactly the same problem. I think I finally figured it out.
I use my Microsoft account for Skype. It has an email address that is different from the one I used to register for the Translator Preview.  So I just re-registered for the Skype Translator Preview using my Skype (microsoft) email address. Now I wait, but I'm willing to bet that they are using email addresses to enroll us. And if they don't match, you get this "not activated" message.
It seems so obvious to me now. But I think a little explaination about the email would be in order on the registration page.
    I hope this helps,
    Scott A

  • Status Sniffer for Skype

    Hello.
I'm looking for something that will obtain/generate/interpret a log of Skype statuses.
In an old post (from 4 years ago) I found reference to something that is close to what I want:
    http://community.skype.com/t5/The-Skype-Lounge/Track-History-of-Skype-Status-Changes-Changelog/m-p/7...
There was no reply to this post, and it refers to a Russian site bigbrotherlog.com, but that site seems to have disappeared. The name of the software translates to "Status Sniffer for Skype".
Can anybody point me in the direction of something like this? Or in the direction of where/how this information is stored on a user's PC? Please note that it's a record of status information I'm after, NOT conversation histories.
In addition to normal" Skype, a solution for "Skype for Business" would be of interest, too.
    Cheers.

Don't know what to tell you, it's working great for us on both 2k and xp. You might want to get in touch with wildpackets support. We had no trouble with either of the above at anytime. We've had it about 6 months. We've been successful on a Dell Latitude, and 600e, T23 and T30 IBM's. Normal LEAP and wireless connectivity work after the wildpackets drivers are installed too so we're way happy replacing the way overpriced NA sniffer and support.

  • You want ideas for skype? Alright, here are some.

According to "Claudius", in http://community.skype.com/t5/Windows-desktop-client/Wanted-Your-Skype-for-Windows-Desktop-ideas/td-....  We should be giving our ideas.  Well, I have a few, after updating to 6.22, even more so.
Idea 1.  Stop taking advice from Microsoft to make skype an even more ugly pile of .... Well, you know.  No one wants their desktop skype to look like it was ported from a phone.  Seriously, I don't know if I can continue using skype anymore.  I'm gonna have to convince my 200+ contacts to start using something else, which won't be hard once they all update to 6.22.  You've made it even easier for me to get people away from skype.  Thank you.
Idea 2.  Bring back skypekit.exe, or at least bring back something that external messengers like Trillian and Pidgin can use to connect to the skype service again.  I used Trillian to connect to skype for years, because unlike Skype, Trillian has always provided a number of customizable views and options for chatting with friends.  I was able to change my window color, background and all, I was able to keep my windows seperated, or tabbed, I was able to organize people into specific groups to easily keep track of who I met where.  Now, all I have is this big long ugly list of contacts that can't be sorted or anything, and my window is one big solid color of white with the uglyness of Windows 8.  I can't even change my text fields back so they don't appear in bubbles anymore.
Idea 3.  Add a "feedback" button to the client of all skype clients, so we can provide feedback about each new update or report problems without ever having to go to this community.
Idea 4.  Actually participate in the community, stop saying you want ideas when you aren't around to read them or care what any of us have to say.  I doubt you've ever actually considered anything anyone has ever suggested here.  All you do is get your orders from Microsoft now, which is basically "How can we ruin skype further?  Oh I know.  Make the skype devs do this.  Cause we own them now.  HA HA HA HAAAA"
Idea 5.  Add an un update button!  This is especially useful when you make a flop as bad as 6.22, so now I have to go find an external source to get 6.21 back.  Also log the amount of people that use the un-update button.  Then maybe you'll figure out what you did wrong and you know.  NOT DO IT AGAIN.
Seriously, I feel like Skype has abandon PC users.  They don't care about computers anymore, seems like they only want to develop for phones now and thus they canceled skypekit.exe for no reason whatsoever, and changed skype into a phone only thing with a desktop port.  It's worse than those console ports where a game is ported to PC directly from console.  Will any skype devs see this?  Probably not.  Too busy finding the next thing in skype to destroy.  Oh, destroy share screens next!  Or perhaps you should destroy video calls.  Then you should destroy the ability to connect so we can finally get everyone away from skype to someone who'll actually listen to the people and not to the big marketing team that claims to know what people want but doesn't actually have any ----ing clue (Microsoft)!
Enjoy your rant, filled with ideas.  Horray.  I am very disappointed in you skype devs, for letting Microsoft buy you so they could ditch their old crappy messenger that no one wanted anymore, just so they could do the same thing to skype.  After they finish sucking the life out of skype, they'll go buy some other poor defenseless messenger to destroy.

The old *#7370# code is a soft reset.
The usual key combination for a hard reset, '3', '*' and 'call' pressed while powering up, is not possible since there is no '3' or '*' key on the 5800XM (touchscreen phone).
    as pointed out by grschinon
If  i have helped at all a click on the white star below would be nice thanks.

  • I bought another skype number for a family member ...

I have 2 skype numbers now because I can't figure out how to assign the other one I just bought, to a family member. Do I need to cancel that and start over?

Hi, Patzycakes, and welcome to the Community,
As a matter of fact, yes: Skype Numbers are associated with the account under which the subscription was started.  Skype does not permit Skype Numbers or any other subscription, or credit, to be transferred from one account to another.
So, the best thing to do would be to cancel the number you do not need, contact customer service to explain the situation and to request a refund , and start a new Skype Number using the Skype account for the family member you wish to have a Skype number.   You or they should use their own payment method -- the Skype anti-fraud filters will catch your credit card being used for more than one account, and bar the payment; as a security measure, you may find your own account becomes suspended!
All that said, if the family member does not use Skype and have their own account, that presents another wrinkle.
    Best regards,
    Elaine

  • A Suggestion for Skype to consider regarding the T...

Hello, I have a suggestion for Skype. When I look at my "Purchase History" in my Skype account it no longer shows the time my order was placed. Not having this information makes it difficult managing my subscription.
I would like to see Skype include the time a transaction was made in the "Purchase History" .
    Thanks.

Elitist is not the right word... But your expected to do you part too.
I honestly think the "The Arch Way" wiki lays it out pretty damn well.
    https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/The_Arch_Way
Read that, if it sounds good you will likely enjoy arch. If it sounds bad, yeah arch may be bad for you.
Truth is the wiki is fantastic, and dedicated people have spent an amazing amount of time putting it together... So for ALMOST EVERYTHING there is detailed step by step information that basically will fix your problem. You just need to read it, understand it and possibly even research on your own the parts you don't understand.
When people just come to the forum and ask to be told directly instead, yeah we may seem elitist expecting they know enough to figure it out on their own... But that is only because the community already wrote out a really really detailed explanation for them, but they just wanted someone else to do the work/troubleshooting for them. Its a bit weird to ask stranger to care more about your problems then you do
But, detailed and specific questions are met with wonderful and fantastic help. This is the most stable and functional distro/operating system I have ever run (in part because after "building" it its pretty easy to fix.)
This ISN'T a newbie distro in that its not for people who just want a working computer for minimal effort... That doesn't mean its hard mean or bad, but it does mean its targeted towards serious users who want to be able to build and fix their own system. A certain standard is expected (and I really like that), its not hard to meet it.... But if you don't want anything expected of you you may not want arch. Reading a paying attention can make it more or less an easy and fruitful experience for even novice users however.
