Skype turns up the volume of people in the call

I am having a problem with my skype.
Just to get it out of the way, i know that a lot of people have problems with skype turning down the volume of other programs. I know how to fix it. That is not my problem.
Instead of turning the volume down, my skype acts opposite, so when im in a call, and i listen to some music in the background, skype turns up the volume of the call to an unbearable point, so i cant listen to music or have sounds activated in games while talking to other people on skype.
I have not been able to find anything on this problem on the internet, and i hope that someone knows how to fix this problem.
All answers are appreciated

Hi:
Try this:
Highlight all songs in Music.
Right click, Click on get info, Click Yes,
Click Options, Slide the bar to the Volume you require,
Click OK.
When you re sync the ipod the volume is much higher. I adjusted mine to 100% and it works fine. I also use an FM unit and you can still control the volume via the Radio. On my mates new Radio it shows up the songs as well on the radio screen via this method:
ARG.

Have you tried giving it a reset? Hold down the sleep and home keys for about 20 seconds. When you see the silver apple let go and let it reboot and see if htat helps.

The volume control stays on the screen.

If the volume is working properly meaning if you do have sound and you can adjust the volume up and down, try this now.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

Have you tried restarting or rebooting the iPad and then see if the volume control will work again?
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.

  • TS1630 I am not getting any sound.  The phone does not ring, nor can I hear music. The ringer is on and the volume is up to the max.  When I select a ringtone it only vibrates.

My phone is not ringing even with the ringer volume up to the max.  Music will not play through the phone.

My phone is not on mute, the volume is up to the max, there are no blue tooth connections, the phone will not ring only vibrate with the ringer on.  I cannot hear any music through the phone either.

    - During a phone call, if I put the conversation on speakers ==> it works and the volume bar reappears. I can control the volume with + and - buttons. But when the conversation is over, the bar disappears again.
    - With the headphones, everything is ok!
    - I also noticed (only a few times) that when I do a silent to ringer mode, the volume slider reappears and works correctly during 2 or 3 seconds, before disappearing again.
I don't know what is problem, because the speakers work.

  • HT1567 I have the volume control symbol in the center of my iPad all of the time.  My music will not play and the volume remains off.  When I try to increase the volume manually it statics and will not maintain a volume level.  Thanks

I have the volume control symbol in the enter of my iPad all of the time.  My music will not play and when I try to increase the volume manually, it statics and will not maintain a volume level.  Thanks

Try resetting the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons until the Apple Logo appears on the screen. Ignore the red slider if it shows up. You will lose no data.

  • Hi, my ipod has been not allowing me to touch the screen. Also the volume buttons are locking the ipod instead of turning up the music.

Hi! Yesterday I was at the gym, and i wass going to get my iPod touch and it wasnt allowing me to unlock the screen. I let it go for awhile then I went to go look at it again and still wasnt able to unlock my iPod. Then I did;t really bother with it, and I wanted to music to turn up loudeer and I started pressing the button it went quieter and quieter, and the it began to turn off the iPod like the top bottun does. So  I went to go turn it off and I could not slide it too shut off. So I then forced quit it, and then turned it back on. It went to the screen and I still wasnt able to unlock it. I went back home, and plucked it into my computer, and had to restore the whole thing. But after the whole proccess it still wasn/t letting me to touch the screen.

Try restoring the iPod to factory defaults/new iPod.  If you still have problems you likely have a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • When I plug my headphones into my MacBook Pro, and I turn the volume up, I hear the little bubble sound coming from the computer speaker. What is wrong with my computer? I don't think it's the headphones, because i've already tried two pairs.

    How can this be fixed?

    Hi DS,
Thanks for the response. Unfortunatly those documents are of no help to me. I have tried several times to boot into the AHT, which didn't work. And attempting to do an internet recovery won't even allow me to log into my wireless network, even though I know the password is correct.Let us try to go through this step by step, as I've been doing.
    1) After resetting the NVRAM it still does not see any new hard drive, and I don't need to select the old HD to boot from it. If it is in it works.
Therefore this means that it is
         a) not the SATA cable
         b) not the new hard drive because my friend got his replacement HD today and I checked them both out. They both work fine on my other friends new macbook pro.
    2) The old hard drive can boot up regularly, and the new one can be seen via the SATA to usb connector and booted from, but not via the internal SATA connector.
Also, I still can't boot into Parted Magic, or any other rescue OS I have.
This seems like a very specific problem, and it definatly wasn't anything I did. I followed troubleshooting steps like I normally do and it wasn't a clusterfuck as you so elequently stated.
Please take the time to respond to all of my questions this time, I feel like you are overlooking some very important information.
    Thanks,

  • TS3274 After updating to the latest version of itunes I now have no audio .  The volume button is all the way up and it says "headphones".  I never saw that before and can't find where to change it.

I updated to itunes 7.02 yesterday and now I have no audio.  The side switch says mute or headphones.  How do I listen to anything without headphones?

Try this  - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Check your settings. The iPads have a small switch on the right edge. It can be used as a rotation lock to keep the screen from automatically reorienting itself as you move around, but you need to have the tablet’s settings configured properly. That same switch, right above the volume buttons, can also be set to function instead as a mute button to silence certain types of audio.
If the switch is set to work as a mute button, you can change its purpose to “screen-rotation lock” by tapping the Settings icon on the home screen. On the Settings screen, tap General on the left side, and on the right side of the screen flick down to “Use Side Switch to.” Tap to select Lock Rotation or Mute to set the button’s function. Even if you set the side switch for your preferred use, you can still mute the Mini or lock the screen. Just double-click the Home button, and when the panel of apps appears along the bottom edge of the screen, flick the row from left to right with your finger. Tap the icon on the far left side of the row to either lock the iPad’s screen or mute the iPad’s alerts, notifications and sound effects. Music, podcasts and video are not muted unless you turn the volume all the way down.

  • My Iphone 3G doesn't go on vibrate when lower the volume, the volume stops short at the first bar, why?

Can someone please help me figure out how or why my iphone 3G doesn't go on vibrate or silent? It stops lowering the volume at the first litle bar in the volume.
also, I had not changed that I can remember some of the settings, but all of a sudden the "do not disturb" setting is in my computer and my iphone and I am puzzled. The "get incoming calls only form favorites was checked out and don't remember doing that wither" I keep checking my settings because I am somewhat scared of these activiies and I could not get my phone to go on vibrate, and under "do not disturb" I got the SILENCE option checked as: "Only while Iphone is locked"  The note says that incoming calls and notifications will be silenced while iphone is locked. This is just so confusing. Why do I need my phonce calls silenced while my phone is locked? I don't. Anyway, please help me discern all of this if you can. Thanks.

First you don't have an iPhone 3G because Do not disturb is not a function for that phone.
Two, the vibration can be activate from Settings > Sounds > Vibrate on silent & Vibrate on Ring
Three, turn off everything in Settings > Do not Disturb
    Keep me posted

Have you tried restarting or resetting your iPod?
Restart: Press On/Off button until the Slide to Power Off slider appears, select Slide to Power Off and, after the iPod shuts down, press the On/Off button and hold until the Apple logo appears.
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10 seconds).
