Hi Support, When my Skype updated the latest version it seems my group chat don't work anymore (I can't send and receive messages). Then I tried to compare it with my macbook pro Skype version 7.9 the group chat work perfectly. Where can I download the older version in Skype 7.9 instead of 7.10?
I just fix this problem Quit and Remove the app. (drag to recycle-bin)
Then remove the Skype folder at ~/Library/Application Support
and then goto ~/Library/Preferences
Remove the com.skype.*.plist files found there.. (note just those labelled com.skype... etc)
Re-install the skype 6.15 (335) DONE

I am running Mac OS 10.9 w Skype Version 6.5.0.443. I cannot login to the app with my Skype or Microsoft accounts. I can log in to both fine on the respective Webpages. So now basically, the Skype program on my Mac is unusable. BTW, I changed my password for both the accounts mroe than once. Very annoying.
Perhaps you missed that you started a discussion at I have OS 10.9.2 and have downloaded latest version of Reader 11. I can no longer fill in form or scroll using the side bar. and you did not respond to the last post there.

Name goes wrong of sent file in Skype version 7.0....
Hi,
After updating my skype version I am having problem during sending file. My current skype version is 7.0.0.1102 ans when I send a file to some one in my conttac they get file with whole path of where the file is save on my desktop rather then only name of file. eg. I am sending one png file named "home_screen.png" the person who get this file get "d/my/company/projects/home_screen.png"
this thing is happen after updating my skype and same prolem cuese to y collegue too.
Hope I can get proper solution for this bug.This is the feature of the new Cloud based transfer mode.

Since yesterday I can not connect to my account. I've also tried on three different PCs at home and tried to connect to couple of different accounts. Probably issue with my internet supplier, but I've decided to search for help here at first. How should I proceed from now on?

Not known any alternatives yet. Goolge+ has some sort of function for real time videocalls, which runs on browser, without need to install anything on the background. But it's not same as Skype and it doesn't support wireless handsets.
I think there's a lack of fast working instant messenger for now. Some skilled programmers could create new P2P instant messenger to replace Skype.
Here's some ideas for it (anyone can feel free to use them):
- Open source
- Written in C or some other goor programming language that creates native code, and can be ported to any platform. Native code means, that it will run FAST, with minimum amount of memory needed to do things (that's 100% opposite of the principle of current Skype versions).
- De-centralized P2P network architecture which is not owned by anyone and which cannot be sold to Microsoft or other companies (which will just spoil the product, like happened with Skype). Little bit like Bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies, which do not have any "central" organization behind them and the product kind of "lives" in the network, when each node will help to keep it living.
- End-to-end encryption of all communications, with traffic routing thru many nodes (just like tor nework). No goverment / NSA backdoors included.
Let's hope that we will see something like this in some day... -
Skype Version 7.2.0.103 just keep crashing
I have upgraded Skype which is bacially an automatice upgrade to a version Skype Version 7.2.0.103.
Since I have upgraded my Skype Application just simply crashing. I am using WIndows 8.1 Verson.
I can open the application.
Then it stays up for about 2 min then I get the follwoing Error message:
Skype Version 7.2.0.103
First WIndows popped up and says:
Windows is checking for Solutions. >>>
Then Pops up another windwo and says the fgollowing thing >>
" Skype has stopped working
A problem caused the program to stop working vorrectly.
windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.
Debug Close program "
I have only choice to close the program.

Please, run the DirectX diagnostics tool.
Go to Windows Start and in the Run box type dxdiag.exe and press the OK button. This will start the DirectX diagnostics program. Run this diagnostics and save the results to a file. Please, attach this file to your post.
Be aware that you will have to zip this file before attaching it here. -
Skype version 7.6 (7.6.0.409) keeps crashing
My skype keeps crashing. I have uninstalled and reinstalled in three times. After reinstallation, it seems to work ok, but now is crashing about every 60 seconds.

WINDOWS XP HOME SP2 portable skype version ?

first of all, i run windows xp home edition on a very old computer DELL OPTIPLEX 2600 with SERVICE PACK 2.
So i need a old skype portable version because i do not want to upgrade my service pack and i cannot install new skype version because it is too fat for my XP HOME EDITION os.

Just what is the newest Skype version for mac?...
I keep getting messages about a new skype version, or my skype keeps wanting to update but wont... The version I've got currently is version 6.19 (422). Is this the most latest one? Because it never actually tells you what skype version you are downloading/updating to on the website...

Go to Solution.Just ignore the updating, Skype is maintained now according to MS standard.
See my post about "NO to upgrades". The problem is that there are different versions for every platform, and they have no release policy, so the moment a new version is made for MS Windows, they try to do the same on all the other platforms.
Sorry Skype, but learn quickly never to touch anything that works. So upgrading is something you should never do, that may render you Skype useless. If it works, do not touch it. If it fails, go look for an old version that works. The novelty they have introduced is more bugs and slower systems, integration with Microsoft accounts (which I do not have) and they are probably working hard to replace servers out in the net, with their servers which is doomed to be a disaster.

Desktop API functionality in newer Skype version (...
I work for a company that uses Desktop API to enable our devices to use call controls in Skype Desktop. All seems to be working up to Skype version 6.20.0.104. Newer version of Skype still have support, but returns values are now unexpected, and has broken our solution.
Consider the code below snippet for holding a call. I check if the active call has clsInProgress status. With newer version of Skype, the status is always clsRinging.

Hi everyone. I've been experiencing some issues with the newest skype version lately and i could barely use it. I was so confused trying to get used to it and still can't. Thing is, I use my skype for business. I haven't been getting contact requests since 10th of january which was because I had and older version installed. Over 49 contact requests didn't reach me. So if anyone could help out, would love getting a download link for a 6.9 (or any similar) version of skype that can show contact requests. Would really appreciate it.
What prevents you from using the latest 7.1 from www.skype.com/go/download ?
We'd preferrably like to address any issue you face with the latest version via an update than having you use outdated older versions.

Problem with recording device (Skype version is 7.7.0.103)
After installing windows 10 home in my laptop (acer Aspire R 14) I am unable to call anyone. Whenever I try to skype call my friends, it always drops the call and there's a yellow popup at the top that says, "Proem with recoring Divice". I have checked DxDiag and found no problem. But when I checked skype apps audio settings, micrphone was not responding. I uninstalld & installed again the skype apps. I also tried skype from web (beta). In every cases i faced same problem. What I do now? Please let me know how can I solve the proble. My skype version is 7.7.0.103
