SKYPE via FRING works 100% on E61i

Pending you have a SIM free (unlocked) E61i (or at least your service provider hasn't blocked VoIP connections as Orange do with the new Blackberry 8320), then this maybe of interest:
Fring, giving you Skype/messenger and others works 100% on the new E61i.
This will allow you to use your E61i for free VoIP calls/texts using Skype via WiFi.
Just go to here: http://www.fring.com/download/ enter the make, model your number & country, wait until you get a text, open, then connect to either 3G or WiFi, install the files (say yes to everything), enter your Skype user name and then password and enjoy Skype on your Nokia. I said no to auto start up and assigned the Own Key for Fring/Skype.
Works a treat!

<span style="font-family: Arial; line-height: 5px; font-size: 2px;">I haven't personally tried this yet but a quick google on "android 2. skype not working" brought up some pages on the same issue. Not only with Ziio. <a rel="nofollow" href="http://forum.skype.com/index.php?showtopic=753603]Here's[/url] one from the skype forum. • N95 Skype Hype: Fring Vs iSkoot..

N95 Skype Hype: Fring Vs iSkoot..
I've been searching google for a SKYPE APP for NOKIA N95.
so far I have found FRING with one good review, and another
called Iskoot. The Fring website offers Fring for free!,
you have to provide your number and they instantly send you a
text with a hyper-text link to download. Connect via wireless
to save money Plus Fring is Skype approved
It works with SKYPE and IM and others in developement.
I havnt been spammed on my number either.
As for ISkoot I havn't checked it out yet,
any reviews of iSkoot or Fring would be apreciated.

Fring all the way. Although i've had a few crashes due to the application. the ease of use, auto refresh & ability to run my MSN & Skype contacts simultaneously is great.
I've done a couple of voip calls via Skype contacts and its very quiet. And the only other niggle I have is the annoying "trill" sound when i get a reply!
Think if I got a good explorer app I could use a different sound file and rename it.

  • My skype number not working

Hi my skype number [***] isnt working ....
pls chk and do the needfull asap
First things, first: for your safety and protection, please never, ever include any personally identifiable information such as your real name, Skype account name, e-mail address, or a telephone number in a post on a public Community or forum such as this. Thanks!

    Hi,
Additional information added: can the Skype number (formerly known as Online Number) be reached from a land or fixed line?   If yes, can the number be reached from a mobile phone?  If not, then the issue is different - the wireless carrier may not be recognizing the number.
If all else fails, please contact Skype Customer Service for assistance - they need to diagnose and resolve whatever the problem may be.  Here is a link to the instruction on how to contact Skype Customer Service via their secure portal: Contact Customer Service
As you know you wish to contact Customer Service, skip past Step 2 of the instruction and proceed to Step 3, Continue Support Request.

  • 7.4: "Skype has stopped working"

when I open skype and sign in it works for a few seconds and then fades out and windows gives me a message saying "skype has stopped working" and then tells me that they will notify me if a solution to the problem is found (yeah right).
I tried renaming my skype appdata and deleted my DbTemp folder but nothing works.
I also ran my DirectX diagnostics tool.

  • "Skype has stopped working" Error Message Windows 8.1 Skype 7.6

Hi, I just now installed the desktop version, I was previously using the other Windows 8 version, not sure what it's called but that doesn't matter. I was trying to call my friend and it said there was a problem with my mic. Well I bought a new mic and came home and it said there was a problem with my mic. I uninstalled it and installed the desktop version, thinking it would work better, but the desktop version tells me that it cannot detect my soundcard and to reboot my laptop. Upon starting up at the welcome screen, I continued to log in, and wait for my programs to load up. I opened skype, it closes without showing up, three more times I do this before running as admin. It tries to load and then gives me the crash report "Skype has stopped working" and says windows will let me know when they find a fix.

Please,  run the DirectX diagnostics tool. Go to Windows Start  and in the Run box type dxdiag.exe and press the OK button. This will start the DirectX diagnostics program. Run this diagnostics and save the results to a file. Please, attach this file to your post. Be aware that you will have to zip this file before attaching it here.

  • I want to copy email from my mac to my pc. Forwarding one at a time via email works well, but when I try to forward several of them at a time I receive one large email. I want to receive the emails individually on my pc. Any suggestions?

Don't know any 'automatic' way - but, i have "Fetch Headers only" set on each of my 'secondary accounts'.
With varying internet service, manual "Get Messages" is probably the "Best Practice" because you will know how good your service is before you even try.
maybe set "Check for new messages every 'n' minutes" to different times
(3 minutes, 6 minutes, etc.) on each 'secondary' account.

  • Skype No longer works in Windows, So I've upgraded...

I've used Skype (with Skype credit to contact family and friends whilst on holiday) My netbook was running Microsh*te XP, but now it seems Skype no longer works, version 6.1.18 prompted to update, and would not allow me to continue using it, the new updated version doesn't work with XP, so I tried backdating to an even older version 6.1.14, but alas it's been deactivated, so I'm not replacing my netbook with a new one, nor do I want to spend as much money as my computer is worth to buy Windows 7 and attemp install on my 10" netbook with a minimal 1GB of RAM.
So alas I upgraded... to... Linux Mint Kde (Rebecca) and now...
    Voila! Skype works perfectly

All the old computers I own branded or unbranded have been fully compatible with XP SP3.  If for some reason you couldn't get your computer functional in XP SP3, you could always utilize the workaround I posted here to modify XP SP2 just enough to make Skype functional.  I have a triple XP OS boot computer (XP 64-bit SP2, XP 32-bit SP2 [with workaround], XP 32-bit SP3) and they all operate just fine with the latest release of Skype (7.1).

In several other similar cases (the same error message) the problem was caused by a virus.
