Skype video message

Hey, can i ask how can i download a skype video message that i received? i'm using an android phone. Because that video message is not shown in my desktop.

Video messages are not stored locally. You need to have an active internet connection to play them back, I'm afraid.

  • Skype Video Message Problem

I have a quick question about receive video messages.  I received one from one of my contacts today but I can't seem to view it.  The video does not appear in the chat window, it is a link.  When I click on the link it takes me to the skype page about signing up for voice messages.  I'm not really interested in having my cell phone or home phone number attached to my skype account.  Is this a problem on my end, or the person who sent it to me?  Any help would be great, thanks!

What you have received is not a video message but a well known Spam/Scam.

  • Cannot Create Skype Video Message – "Oops, something went wrong-"

I've seen this issue a few times on here but none of the resolutions pertain to my situation. While I can Video Skype, I cannot send a video message. When I do, I get the message, "Oops, something went wrong. Please try again of get in touch if you need help." I have uninstalled Skype, cleaned the registry, restarted, and reinstalled to no avail. I am running 64-bit Windows 7 SP 1 on an HP G72 Notebook. There is NO external camera connected via USB. My camera options in video settings are HP Webcam-101 (in use) or Cyberlink Web Camera Filter. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I have attached the DirectX diagnostics file as well. Thank you.

  • Skype Video Message Virus

For the past week or so, I;ve been getting video call viruses. The person's editable name will say something along the lines of:
"NEW VIDEO MESSAGE RECIEVED! PLAY HERE AT PLAYOVS.COM".
The actual user ID will be something along the lines of:
    "v28497384928291"
I've blocked several of these acounts, yet they just keep popping up. Is anyone else getting these messages, and if there's a way to rid them, what would that be? Thanks in advance!

  • Video Message not Sending

I sent my friend a video message, and for the past 24 hours it has been stuck at 99% and simply wont send.  There has been no error message.  I tried restarting Skype and restarting my computer.  Now, the icon has even turned black and I'm starting to think it isn't even on the Skype server or anything... Also, is there any way for me to view the video while it's sending?

Ok so I found a way to send the video message.
For Windows users, follor this guy's tutorial.
    http://www.petri.com/save-skype-video-messages.htm
For Mac users, the porcces is similar but finding the files can be a bit more difficult if you dont know exactly what to look for.
    Start by downloading http://sourceforge.net/projects/sqlitebrowser/files/sqlitebrowser/3.4/sqlitebrowser-3.4.0.dmg/downlo...
We will use this program to open main.db which is located here: /Library/Application Support/Skype/*your skype username*/main.db
Open sqlitebrowser and drag the main.db file into it.  This file contains all of your chat history.
Next click the "Browse Data" tab at the top.  Select the "Table" dropdown menue and click on "VideoMessages". This will essentially give you a spreadsheet of all of the information for every video messege you have ever sent or recieved.
Scroll to the right and find the "author" collumn. Use this and the "creation_timestamp" column to help locate the video message you were trying to send.
Once found, you can see, in two other columns, the "local_path" and/or the "vod_path".
Since we are trying to resend a video message you created, we are going to use the local path.  Double click on this.  A window should appear with the path highlighted.  However, we need to deselect the actualy .MOV file name. do this, then press Command-C.
Go to "Finder", "Go", and then "Go to Folder" and past the path into the text box.  Press enter and the folder in which your video message is stored will appear.  Reference the sqlightbrowser to find the exact name of you video message, and then copy your .MOV file to a more convenient location.  You can then go back to skype and send the video message as a normal attatch ment.
Voila! You just resent your video message.

  • Video Messages Stored Location in Mac

I would like to ask, where are the skype video messages under Mac OS X stored?
Is there a specific temporary or not folder where skype saves the received and delivered video messages? It would be really helpful if someone knows.
    Thanks in advance.

Hey, First, play your video message in Skype, and pause it midway.  Then go to:~/Library/Application Support/Skype/<username> and find the file "main.db". Copy/paste this file, and create "main copy.db" (otherwise you will be prevented from reading "main.db", because it is in use).  Next you need to download an SQLite database browser (there are a couple online which are free). Open the "main copy.db" file, and select the "VideoMessages" table. Click to show all entries in the table, and you will find your voice message there. One of the columns will say "vod_path", which is a direct link to the file on the Skype servers. You can then simply download it.

  • New Video Message Virus

    Synopsis of my day:
I received the following message from my friend today
(friend's username) has sent you a video message!
You can view your Skype video message at [REDACTED for safety]
(Ignore this message if this was caused by an internal error)
Unfortunately I did not recognize the above site as malicious.
The site prompted me to log in, and i inputted my username and password.
(Note: I just changed my password so I should be safe in that respect now)
    Next it downloads a file.
    (your username).zip
Inside is a large videomessage.exe file.
    Upon opening it, nothing happened.
At this point I (falsely) believed I was safe. Just to be sure, I ran a scan with my antivirus.
Unfortunately, a few minutes later my scan was interrupted and...
My screen flickered and a windows 7-ish screen showed up displaying some message and I heard some alarm warning noises.
As soon as the weird things began, I shut my computer off.
A while later, I decided to turn my computer back on.
Everything seemed to be normal, and it started with no problems.
I then logged in as a Guest to be safe?
I attempted to resume my antivirus scan.
(I use Malwarebytes Anti-Malware. They have a security component "Chameleon" which saved me. It seems the virus blocks most anti-viruses)
After scanning, I logged into my main account and everything was back to normal. I deleted the files (username).zip and videomessage.exe, and I'm posting here for others who have encountered the same problem.

had the same thing happen to me this morning, then went searching through my computers internal files to see if i could find anything possibly hiding from me

  • Video Message broken Skype 5.0.0.49715 Android 4.3...

    Hello,
The video messae feauture stopped working on 5.0.0.49715 (or before)...when I try to record a video message all I see is a black screen and the record button and timer but if you hit record nothing happens..it actually freezes...I had noticed this on a previous version so I reverted back to 4.5.0.39600 which ON THE SAME DEVICE worked JUST FINE.  But now skyped FORCED ME to upgrade to the latest release mentioned above and the video message is broke.  So, does anyone has as soliution to this?  Or a way to allow the old release 4.5.0.39600 to continue to run w/o being forced to upgrade?  I have done research on this myself and have not found an answer.  SKYPE SUPPORT...what is going on here??!!  Seems like this issue has been around for a while and you have done nothing about it???

    So,
I've solved the issue, keyword: DOWNGRADE!
    Skype version 4.9.xxxxx works fine!
Uninstall the current [broken] 5.x version and grab an old copy from:
    http://skype.en.uptodown.com/android/old
The latest versions I was able to find are:
    _ 4.9.0.45564
    _ 4.9.507.46973
You can google it, use the abovementioned website.
    Best of luck!
P.S. To the developers: that's the exact build number jump were it stopped working - the path is now found.

  • I can't get skype to alert me of incoming calls/videos/messages on my apple device

I can't get skype to alert me of incoming calls/videos/messages on my apple device, unless I have the app open in front of me.I have tried to contact different microsoft help desks. I have checked all my settings and have looked at all the help forums available and now am turning to you.Isn't it possible to be notified of incomming calls/videos/messages when my phone is in standby mode? Any help?

I'll assume you have allowed notifications from Skype turned on both in the device settings and in the app settings.
The only other thing I can suggest is checking that the conversations have not been muted by the app (go into the conversation, tap ..., tap notifications and make sure notifications are on) as the iPad version has a nasty habit of doing this without warning.
