Skype wants a country code with Telephone number?  What is it

What is the country code for US.  Why does Skype need that?

http://countrycode.org/
Dunno why skype would want it unless it's making the contact like a phone call.

  • Add country code to phone number automatically

Does iCloud Contacts have the ability to add the country code automatically in front of phone numbers:
e.g. if a phone number is stored as (212)555-3270; does iCloud have a batch update option where it can convert the number to +1(212)555-3270; The user may allow this automatically OR ask to be prompted.

Is there a way for me to automatically add the country
code before the phone number for all the contacts
    that do not have it?
First, you must have stored somewhere what country each phone number is for. Without this, no automatic method will work.
The obvious place is in the "country" field of each Address Book entry, but keep in mind that you can have multiple addresses & multiple phone numbers for each contact, & it is possible one contact could have addresses and/or phone numbers in more than one country. This makes the problem much more difficult, particularly if there are different labels for different ones of each. (IOW, you could have an "office," a "direct," a "mobile," & a "home" phone, & a "work," a "home" & maybe even a "cabin" or "2nd home" address, not necessarily all in the same country or with an obvious address/phone relationship.)
You also would need to test each phone number to make sure it did not already have a country code entered (to avoid double codes), & some way to mark or otherwise handle entries without a country entry in any address field, with uncertain address/phone relationships, etc.
It is possible to do all this with Applescript, but frankly, even if you already knew a fair amount about scripting, it would probably take you longer to write, debug, & verify the results of applying the script than it would to go through 300 entries by hand, particularly if you use the search box or smart groups to go through the contacts one country at a time.
However, no matter what you try, you can guard against data loss by backing up the Address Book before you start (File -> Backup Address Book) & restoring from the backup if something goes wrong.

  • ESS Address Service - Area Code in Telephone Number Defaults to 000

    Hi Gurus -
Our business noticed that when creating a new address using the US ESS Address service, the area code defaults to 000 in the telephone number (field AREAC) if there is not a value already in that field. Has anyone else's business complained about this? Does anyone know how to get rid of that default?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you,
    Mark.

    Hi Shikhil,
Thank you for your response. We have not modified the address infotype in the backend R/3 system and do not want to modify it. Are you saying that a modification to the table 0006 would be needed and make it CHAR instead of NUM for AREAC?
    Thank you,
    Mark.

  • Problem in identifying Customer with Telephone number in CTI

I am facing a challenge in the following scenario:
We are in the process of CTI integration, when we get inbound call alert from a mobile, the screen displays the number in a format like +9050XXXXXXX and for a landline number it shows +904XXXXXX. In the BP, we have maintained the numbers without 9, so when the call comes to ICWC, its not identifying the customer. My CTI vendor said the number 9 is defined in the PBX and if removed it will create other problems.
I have created a test data - BP with my extn no. (only extn. no not the complete landline number) if i call my agent id no from my extn no., ICWC is able to identify the customer. The alert shows +72085 which is my ext no. but there is no prefix of no. 9.
    My question is:
How can i adjust the search routine in SAP to search for the telephone number beginning with +9.
Is there any other alternative solution available for this. Any thoughts..

    Hello Kalees,
We had a similiar problem in one of ours CRM IC implementations, but since this particulary implementation we were using BCM we removed the numbers there.
But been searching and i think that the function used to indentify the call partner for the call it's BUPA_SEARCH_2(iv_telephone) think you can manipulate your telephone number there just for the identification, but the number showed in IC will still have the 9.
Don't know if this help , but try some debug perhaps this helps you get a solution(check class CL_CRM_MCM_SESSION).

  • Wildcards with telephone number in BP search

    Hi all,
I added telephone number field to the extended search of business partner, It works only with the exact number and doesn't works using wildcards...
    Any suggestion?
    Thanks a lot

MAC CL_BSP_BP_ACCMOD's query method uses FM COM_BSP_SEARCH_BP.
Look into this function module before you make enhancements around BP search using telephone number.

  • IPhone email header with telephone number

I think I figured it out. If there is an auto signature in Mail, whatever is in it will show up at the header in iOS.

  • Color problem with telephone number in footer.

In the footer of my web page I entered a phone number and set the color. On the desktop the color is perfect but when you view it in a mobile device it changes the color to white. I am using Dreamweaver CS6 any help would be appreciated. Thx Rick

You can disable this feature for Apple devices by using
    <meta name="format-detection" content="telephone=no">
You could also apply a span with a class around the phone number and then target that in the CSS - Apple devices make it a link so it would be something like the below:
    <span class="iOS">01 234 567 8910</span>
    .iOS a { /* styles here */ }
Or you could make it a link yourself by using the tel attribute:
    <a href="tel:+112345678910">01 234 567 8910</a>
    a[href^="tel:"] { /* styles here */ }

  • Want to NOT ring with undislosed number

when a caller calls with a unknown number ( no caller ID) I dont want to hear a ring. Is there any way to do it that way?
If they don't want me to know who calls..I don't need to hear them !!

There is no way to do what you want. The closest you'll get is assigning a silent ringtone as your default ringtone & then assigning specific ringtones/ringtone to everyone listed in your contact list. But, any call, if the caller is not listed in your contact list, will have this silent ringtone.

The shared library patch includes libraries that you link to your application, including /usr/lib/libCrun.so.1, /usr/lib/libCstd.so.1, and /usr/lib/libiostream.so.1 among others. These libraries are not affected by and have no effect on compile-time optimization levels like -xO4. You should update the libraries if you want to get bug fixes.
Note, however, that WS6u2 does not by default link to the shared libraries in /usr/lib. By default it links to static libraries (except for libCrun.so.1) in the compiler installation area. We changed this default in the next release because you should always link to the shared library. The C++ Users Guide has instructions on how to modify the compiler installation so that the shared libraries will be linked by default.
WS6u2 is End Of Life, and little support is available for it. Early compilers like this one tended to be buggy at high optimization levels. If you get all current compiler patches, available at
    [http://developers.sun.com/sunstudio/downloads/patches/index.jsp]
you will reduce the chances of buggy code generation.
But the advice from Maxim is best: Upgrade to a recent compiler, Sun Studio 11 in your case. It has the benefit of years of development in the code generators, for one thing. For another, the set of tools is much improved, and the compilers support modern chips and OS versions. You should also get the current patches for Studio 11. Studio 11 is free for all uses, and you can get it here:
    http://developers.sun.com/sunstudio/products/previous/11/index.jsp
We would normally recommend Sun Studio 12, but it does not support Solaris 8 (which is End Of Life as well.)

  • LP 7.1 wants an Activation Code - again?! What?!

Having been away on vacation, today I fired up LP 7.1 for the first time in weeks. During the startup sequence, before the iLok blurbs (about earlier demo-ed plugs), I was faced with a message asking for my Activation Code. Which code?! Is this the xskey serial number, or the LP update number, or my Support ID, or some other code that I can't seem to recall whether or not Apple sent after I installed the upgrade?!?! Months ago! And it worked fine until now. I forgot to jot down the contents of that message, and simply quit, went and checked all connections, xskey seating etc, then started LP again - same thing! Quit again (seriously disturbing lack of attention to detail on my part...). Hunted all over the Finder for "xskey", found the app that came with the 6.x versions, started it up, learned nothing there (and I did nothing there, either). Just for the **** of it I started LP 7.1 again - peerless startup, everything back to normal, TDM - all of it working as usual. Anyone have a clue what happened here? Even better: anyone know what code that message was looking for, and why the demand for it showed up now? Is it going to come back again?
    Thanks for listening!

sometimes if launch logic with the APPLE held down the app will ask for the code, just quit and make sure there is nothing holding down the APPLE on your keyboard, sometimes they do stick and when they stick the app is always gonna ask for the code
try it hold down the APPLE key whilst logic is about to boot
the code will be your last update so either logic 7 or 7.1. Logic 7.0.1 is still logic 7 so the code is the same as 7
the codes are usually on a white small paper in the package

  • Once I block a telephone number, what happens when someone from that number calls?

Do they get a message saying I am not accepting calls from that number?  Does my phone still ring?  I have used the option to block calls from restricted/private/unknown numbers as well as rejecting individual numbers.

Wonderful question! I want to ensure that you're provided with the correct verbiage. Are you using the call and message block available through My Verizon? If so, the verbiage states as follow "Welcome to Verizon Wireless. The number you were trying to reach has calling restrictions which has prevented the completion of your call."

  • Avoid Country code in CRM

    HI All,
I am facing issue with Automatic addition of country code to the Phone number which we recieve from Interface. Our client wants Users themselves will add country code and we should disable automatic addition of country code based on Country. I went to Setting under IMG--Sap webapplication server-Set Country codes there I tried to remove country code but then it was disabled for all interface. My problem is for particular interface they want to disable it but for other interface then want CRm to add country code. Can anyone help me with this.
    Many thanks,
    Ashutosh

    Hi Praveen,
There was nothing much we did in CRM. We had XI so we decided to handle it at XI level. Even if CRM adds country code to the number while sending it back XI will chopp off country code and send it to interface.

  • 1 + area code and phone number

All phone numbers are coming up 1 + area code and phone number. Is there a way to turn off the "1+" and just have area code and phone number?

In areas that have more than one area code for the same geographic area, 10 digit dialing with area code is mandatory. 1+ dialing is required from land lines, but the 1+ is optional from mobile phones.
"What is an Area Code Overlay?
An overlay is the addition of another area code to the same geographic region as an existing area code. An overlay does not require customers to change their existing area code.
What Will be the New Dialing Procedure?
To complete calls from a landline phone, the new dialing procedure requires callers to dial 1 + area code + telephone number. This means that all calls in the 310 area code that are currently dialed with seven digits will need to be dialed using 1+ area code + telephone number.
To complete calls from a cellular or mobile phone, callers may dial the area code + telephone number or 1 + area code and telephone number whenever placing a call from a phone number with an overlay area code."
Since it doesn't matter using a mobile phone, I guess the databases have included the 1+ for completeness and all users (mobile and land line) can be accommodated.
