Skype won't let me do lots of stuff

Hey guys, Skype won't let me do so much stuff like, I can't msg people, all the group chats I've been in I can't view who's in their and what they have said in the group chats, it doesn't show who's online, and really is online, i can't call people ( the call just ends and says failed). So annoyjng. Please help me someone. Thanks heaps

Is your connection status on Skype Online? The status icon next to your name must be solid green with a white checkmark inside.

Try this:
Go to Windows Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> Right click on Command Prompt, select 'Run as administrator'.
In the Command Prompt type: cd c:\windows\syswow64 and press Enter.
Next type this and then press Enter:
regsvr32 jscript.dll
Next type this and press Enter:
regsvr32 jscript9.dll
After each Enter you should receive a message saying that DllRegisterServer in XXX.dll succeeded.
Reboot your computer.
Make now the test showing if your Internet Explorer can execute JavaScript.
Open in your Internet Explorer this page and watch the response:

Skype won't let me do call / do anything

Skype won't let me call, receive calls, or do anything. Anything and everything I click on doesn't respond. I've tried to have both regular skype and beta and that doesn't work either

Skype has stop working since I downloaded the latest update. I down loaded from your website and installed version 6.16.59.105. I am running it on Windows Professional 7 and Internet explorer 11.Symptoms.It allows me to log on but not to call anyone. When I call an online contact the system shows the “calling” but my contact never answers.My contacts never receive any call I try to make.Skype will not hang up on a failed call. The system continues to show the calling screen when I hit the ”hangup’ Icon or use the hang up command from the menu. The system will go on calling my contact forever (well it has lasted for 95 minutes till I shut down the computer)My contacts cannot see me on line.What I have done to try and fix the problem.I have uninstalled Skype, downloaded again and reinstalled. I have done this 3 times but get the same result.I have tried deleting the DbTemp folder and also found and deleted the Skype folder in the %appdata% folder.I have even tried deleting skpe, deleting the DbTemp folder and deleting the skype folder in the %appdata% folder, then downloading a new copy and installing it. I get the same resultHelp!!!!

Skype won't let me sign out or quit

My computer has been on standby for 3 days now because Skype won't let me quit or sign out. I can do other things on my computer while having Skype frozen but when I try to shut down my computer, it says Skype cancelled the shut down.
It would mean the world to me if a good samaritan could help me fix this really bothering issue.

I am having the exact same problem, my laptop (macbook pro) has been on for a week, this is because whenever i try to shut it down it won't let me as it says 'to try again quit skype then restart from the apple menu', i have tried many times to quit skype but it is not working therefore my laptop is overheating.. what do i do?!
I would really appreciate it if somebody could help me because the last thing i want is for my laptop to break!

Skype won't let me cancel my subscription

I keep trying to cancel my subscription and am getting pissed off at skype.
I have been trying for days now and still no luck!
When I go into settings under my subscriptions on the left side as instructed I get my payment history. I then go to cancel and get:

We're having technical problems. We're sorry for the inconvenience. Please try again after a few minutes.

When I try to follow links for support I get a page error...
It also won't let me delete my credit card until I delete my subscription...so I am stuck going in circles...

Skype won't let me type in my password!!!

Whenever I try to log into skype, I keep getting this odd login box, as to the regular one. It won't let me type in my password or even change my username. I've tried to uninstall and re-download numerous amounts of times, but it didn't help. Any ideas?

What you are seeing now is the new login window introduced with Skype 5.5. The new login procedure requires that a functioning Internet Explorer with enabled JavaScript is installed on the computer. You may try with resetting of Advanced and Security settings in IE. You can also do this by applying the Fix It from this Microsoft site:

If nothing of this helps, then the following procedure will return the old login screen:
Quit Skype. Make sure that you don’t see any Skype.exe processes in Windows Task Manager. If necessary, then stop these processes. Open C:\Program Files\ folder. If you have 64-bit Windows then it should be C:\Program Files (x86)\ folder. Find the Skype folder and then Phone. Right click on the Skype.exe file and select: Send to – Desktop (create shortcut). Right click on the newly created shortcut and select the Shortcut tab. In the Target field you will see now: "C:\Program Files\Skype\Phone\Skype.exe" (or with (x86) if you are on 64-bit Windows). Click with your mouse on the text in the Target field and move your curser one space after the last quotation sign and add the text /legacylogin. The text in the Target field should now read:
"C:\Program Files\Skype\Phone\Skype.exe" /legacylogin
Click OK to save the changes. Start Skype using this new shortcut. Can you now login to Skype?

Skype won't let me log in again

So i had this problem a long time ago where skype wouldn't let me log in. Basically when i clicked the box to write my name/pass in it nothing happened. So i tried the rename "login" to "login1" and create a desktop shortcut solution and it worked for like a month or so, i could log in just normally. But just recently, skype went back to not letting me sign in like before. And the login1 solution doesn't work anymore...

Friend of mine's skype won't let him log-in...

Ok my Boyfriend is having major issues with his skype account.
Everytime he tries to log into skype, it says it's the wrong ID or password. And he's typing in the right password and his ID. He changed his password many times and it's the same story. He tried uninstalling and re-installing it and still no access.
He really wants to access this account because he has a lot of people he knows only though skype and he doesn't want to lose his contacts by making a new account.
Please help?

when I get to the directions part that is to delete DbTemp my windows 8 program shows me a bunch of boxes that have instructions and webpages. How do I remove the file? These boxes are webpage choices. How do I easily find the DbTemp file to remove?

Don't understand - I went to call a client and the SKYPE icon loads, then says to update. There is no update!

Skype won't let me start an account because I have...

I'm trying to join Skype/set up an account, but it's saying my email address is invalid every time I put it in, and I think it's because I have an ampersand in it, as soon as I take out the ampersand ('&' symbol) the error note dissapears. This email address is defnitiely valid, it works just fine with the ampersand.
Perhaps they need to review their list of allowed characters?

While the legacy Skype account creation process may have limitations on special characters and extensions, Microsoft accounts are a bit more flexible. You might try setting up a new Skype account using a Microsoft account instead.

Skype won't let me join a group call

So I'm trying to join a group call and scype joins it to the point where i can see the prictures, but i can't hear anything, and then it just ckicks me out. I have tried deleting and ree-innstaling, running some scetchy cmd prompt **bleep** and allot of other things. Some forums say that i need to be friends with the hoster of the chat, and i am a friend with the original hoster, but i have no ide who has called up the chat this time. i have had this bug FOR MONTHS but just spam-joining has usually gotten me in the call.i have also seen other people complain about this problem and apparently it has been around for a long time. So apparently a problem that makes it so that you CAN'T USE THE PROGRAM HAS EXISTED FOR MONTHS AND NO REAL FIX HAS BEEN RELEASED; FOR **bleep**S SAKE SKYPE. Several of my friends also have had this problem, but as fgar as i know noone of them have reaced the stage where the program is unusable. BTW, i can still talk with other people on skype, but not the big grou chats. I have also tried downgrading, but apparently skype has removed all liks with downlaods to prevous versions so that if there is a bug that makes you UNABLE TO USE THE **bleep** PROGRAM you can't downgrade.
I might seem a bit angry, but it is summer, and i have been working for the past weeks, and i finally have a day off to chat with my friends and play games with them before i go back to work tommorom, but then i have to spen HOURS TRYING TO FIX A **bleep** BUG THAT THE SKYPE TEAM SHOULD HAVE FIXED MONTHS AGO.

Ugh, I'm having the same issue. It's been going on for awhile. The group has about 13 members in it but 3 or 4 people usually join the group calls. When I try to join I see pictures as if I'm joining, but then I'm kicked out. Sometimes it takes someone from inside of the group to call me and add me in, but even then that doesn't work sometimes. It's incredibly irritating that this bug is still a thing. I hope you get your answer soon. As of now I have none. Still trying to find a solution.

Help skype won't let me access account information

so I logged out of my skype through my PC and when I try to relog back in it keeps saying incorrect password so I go to reset password with my Gmail and it keeps sending me over to hotmail and all it does it change my hotmail password not my skype
can someone please help me ASAP I Am still signed in through mobile and use my skype for major gaming purpose
Side note : sorry for wrong section i was freaking and I think I fixed it through looking deep within saved files on my PC and found password would have never guess I put that

Try restarting iChat, Quit and start again.
