Skype wont update or Uninstall

Im using windows 8.1 and when ever i try to update or uninstall skype i get error: Could not open key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE32/Software/Microsoft/Internet Explorer/Main/FeatureControl/FEATURE_MAXCONNECTIONSPSERVER. Verify that u have sufficient access to that key, or contact your support personnel. Any solutions to this?

Try this  Lessmsi  method:
http://community.skype.com/t5/Windows-archive/Impossible-to-install-v6-13-0-104-Error-1603/m...
Be aware that if you want to install the currently latest 7.3.0.101  version, then you should use SkypeSetup_7.3.0.101.msi file in order to extract Skype.exe and Login.cab files.
SkypeSetup_7.3.0.101msi file can be downloaded using this link:
http://download.skype.com/msi/SkypeSetup_7.3.0.101.msi
Don't run this installer, but only use the downloaded SkypeSetup_7.3.0.101.msi file to extract the Skype.exe and Login.cab files.

Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from the following page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
To install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

Please,  run the DirectX diagnostics tool (32-bit version).
Go to Windows Start and in the Run box type dxdiag.exe and press the OK button. This will start the DirectX diagnostics program. Run this diagnostics and save the results to a file. Please, attach this file to your post.

  • Itunes 7 wont update....help

I recently purchased a new 2nd generation shuffle for my kids and have been having trouble ever since I first plugged it in. It apparently needs itunes 7 to run but itunes 7 wont update on my computer. Everytime I try to install itunes 7 I get the following message. "This installation cannot directly upgrade the version of ipod software found on this computer. Please uninstall the ipod software and try again."
Anybody have any ideas? I have tried everything that I can think of.

Ok this is how I fixed this. Apparently iTunes uses Safari.
Go to Settings -> Safari -> and Clear Cookies and Data and also Clear History - scroll down to see those settings.
Set Block Cookies to either "from third parties and advertisers" or "Never" (you choose which one)
In Advanced (scroll down its the last setting) make sure JavaScript in ON
Here  is the last step I had to make to fix it - which may not apply to you.  Some time ago I changed my primary email for apple. I noticed it was  asking me to enter the password for the secondary email.
I  went into iTunes and App Store, tapped my Apple Id and then Sign Out. I  then resigned in using my primary Apple email and password.
Just to make sure, I turned the phone off and on, but honestly this may be optional.
    I am now working again.
    I hope this helps you.

  • Illustrator CS6 wont update to the latest CC-version, any ideas?

AI wont update to the new CC-members only features. I would like to have access to the package feature and I have tried both deleting and uninstall AI, but no luck so far. I had CS Design and WebPremium installed before. Adobe Application Manager tells me theres nothing to upgrade.
Any ideas on how to get round this issue? How do I know if my apps are the latest CC if the application manager isnt working properly? Isnt this the point with the Creative Cloud, to be able to get the new features? Finally is there a secret place on Adobe.com where i can download the patch?

If you never got it updated I think the next thing I would try is uninstalling and reinstalling Illustrator.
    You could uninstall it using
Mac HD > Applications > Utilities > Adobe Installers

  • Prevent Skype from updating?

I have a serious issue with Skype updating on its own.
Every few days, Skype will update to version 6.11 without permission. I've tried turning off updates within Skype's settings (didn't work), blacklisting the Skype update server (didn't work), removing the updater.exe (didn't work), disabling the Skype Updater service (didn't work), and removing the Skype Updater service from my computer using the Command Prompt (didn't work).
Even severely hobbled, Skype is still finding a way to update itself. Modern versions of Skype don't work properly with my (Windows 8 ) computer. I require Skype for work, so just getting rid of it like any sensible person would isn't an option. There has to be a better way than letting Skype update itself every time I turn my back, letting it mess up my computer, uninstalling it, and reinstalling a version that works.

This is what I got for ping:

Before last month, I was running 5.8.0.158, but after it started trying to update, I switched to 5.9.0.115 since it was the most similar version with the ability to disable automatic updates. Forced updating happens with both versions, even with the Skype Update service disabled, even with the service completely removed from my computer, and even with Skype's servers in the hosts file.
This is how the hosts file currently reads; I modified it on the seventh, with admin permissions.

  • Skype is updating whenever it feels like no matter...

Within the last few days, no matter what I do, Skype has been updating from version 6.2 to the latest version of 7.
Each time I've uninstalled Skype completely from my computer.
Ive deleted all Skype relevant files (excluding local chat history cache which I saved).
I've reinstalled version 6.2 from an old install file.
I've set the startup type for Skype Updater to disabled in administrative tools.
I've blocked apps.skype.com and g.msn.com in the internet security options.
I've turned off automatic updates in the skype advanced options.
I've deleted the update package (SkypeUpdate.exe) from the local appdata folder and replaced it with a dummy file.
    1. How is Skype possibly updating?
    2. Why does it do so with no indication to myself, no buttons to click to confirm, no process window popping up to evidence that it is starting, and only when the computer is off or asleep?
    3. How can it be doing this when the computer isn't even off?
    4. How is it overriding all of the decisions I've consciously made and settings I've set? Where in the user terms does it say that it can override the authority of the computer administrator wherever they go?
    5. How do I stop this?
    6. How is this acceptable in any way?

Updates weren't pushed if you ran a version above 6.11.  Since that version was upgraded to 7.0 last week (7.3 is the latest), people have had the update applied.  Updates can be hidden like this updated webcam driver is:

  • Skype attempted update, now skype won't boot up.

I'm really pissed off right now. In the middle of a group chat my skype started updating and then it gave me the windows alert "Skype has stopped working". As a natural reaction I hit cancel and then went to boot up the program again. Then it said something about how there isn't room on my disk drive for an update (I have over 200gbs worth of space left." I tried uninstalling my current version of skype, 6.22. At first it gave me a problem about how there was no space on my drive/temp folder (again) and I spent about half an hour trying to fix it. Then I tried it a few minutes ago saying there was a problem with the package itself trying to uninstall it. I need help ASAP please.

Please,  run the DirectX diagnostics tool.
Go to Windows Start and in the Run box type dxdiag.exe and press the OK button. This will start the DirectX diagnostics program. Run this diagnostics and save the results to a file. Please, attach this file to your post.

  • App store wont update or download my apps

after i just got my internet connected after about a week without it, the apps tore will not update my apps. i tryed updating one and it says this: "snap collage- frame, caption, crop, edit, save to album and share photo creations on instagram, facebook, twitter and postcard' cannot be downloaded. Please try again later. I kept trying it just wont update same with my other apps unless i try to update them at a different wifi connectiong although wifi works fine on my other apps now and i cant get into the apps that i tryed updating at all now. please help

This usually means that the Apple ID you used to connect to the itunes store is not the same one used when buying the apps.  Purchases in the store are forever associated with the ID used to buy them.  Could this be the issue?  Go to Settings>icloud and verify which ID is currently being used.

  • When i try to update my apps from the app store some of the apps wont update and ask for an Apple ID that isn't mine. Whats the problem and how do i fix it?

When i try to update my apps from the app store some of the apps wont update and ask for an Apple ID that isn't mine. Whats the problem and how do i fix it? All im trying to do is update my apps and its asking for these random apple ID's.

The apps were purchased by another user with a different Apple ID. You will have to erase them and repurchase them using your Apple ID.
