SkypeIn on N82 option besides Fring

Hey All,
Anyone knows any app that would allows SkypeIn on my N82 besides Fring? Call quality on Fring is bad. Tried iSkootbut not able to set it up at all. Calls always fail, be it outgoing or incoming. Thanks for your time!

I've seen many threads about this boot problem and the "corrupt card" theory comes up a lot.
If that's the case, why would this happen on such a large scale? Because I've never unplugged the USB unless all Nokia apps are closed, including the little taskbar icons. Windows doesn't offer a way to eject the card since Nokia has a unique way of mounting it. I'm not aware of any extra precautions I could take.
The worst case scenario, though, would seem to be to unplug the USB during an application install, but even in that case, since the installer is copied over before installation begins, I don't think that would even interrupt the install or break the card. It's hard to imagine what copy could be interrupted that would do that kind of damage. And anyway, this all seems contrary to everything else I've read about unplugging nokias, like:

Printing Options besides Epson R200

We like our R200 printers. They work ok, but we find we are printing 1000 DVDs a year (middle school) and the Epson R200s are not really designed for that level. We raise some funds from the sales of DVDs. What is a better option besides the Epson R200? The next level?

it dupes 50 CD's or DVD's in a batch before printing labels on each one
there is a printer only version available which is cheaper
I use Epson, Canonand HP printers also, but the Primera is the better option by far and is the most reliable duping machine Iv used

My ipad is not syncing with my iPhone. I am considering restoring it to default settings but are there other options (besides calling Apple)?

With apps, if I install an app on my iPhone that is also for iPad, it will go on my ipad, but if I delete the app on my iPhone it will not be deleted on my ipad. With photos, I have pictures on my ipad that are not on my iPhone and vice versa. With contacts, on my iPhone, everyone has their own ringtone, but on my ipad they're set to default. As I set up top, I am considering restoring it to default settings but are there other options (besides calling Apple)? I just want a second opinion.

Currently, all opinions are set to ON in iCloud on both devices. On the iPhone, apps is set to ON, iTunes Match, Music, and Books are set to OFF. On the IPad, apps, iTunes Match, Music, and Books are set to OFF.

N82 bug with fring skype

My N82 get along with skype verywell by using Fring. However there is 1 bug that make me quite trouble is Fring can only get connected with "non password" WIFI connection. My WIFI area at home have password. Normally if i use N82 to connect, it will ask me password. But if i connect it thru Fring, Fring will not ask me password; it will just say can not get connected. So i need to shut down my WIFI password first in order to get my fring connected. Can someone help me with it?

I have the latest version of Fring and it does ask me for password. Check to make sure you have the latest version of Fring.
The other option is to set up your Access Points first. This means you will not have to enter the password everytime you reuse the Access Point.

Other LEAP upgrade options besides PEAP and EAP-FAST?

Currently I'm using LEAP for authentication on my AP's at roughly 200 remote locations, with about 6 AP's per site. These are performing local Radius authentication on the AP's themselves. We are using non-dictionary passwords, so I'm not too worried about a ASLEAP attack. However, I've been asked to look into other alternatives besides LEAP for security.
Here's the problem.... there is no way my company will pay for a Radius server at each individual location. As both PEAP and EAP-FAST seem to require an actual Radius server as opposed to an AP acting as one, to use either means authentication would have to happen back to the central office servers over our WAN. That is going to generate an unacceptable amount of WAN traffic, as well as leave us stranded should the WAN connection go down, as happens to at least one site once a week or so. Do I have any other options, are are they superior to my current LEAP setup?

A comparable system might be to use WPA - PSK (Pre-Shared Key) w/ TKIP.
TKIP will keep the key rotation, and if you start with a strong PSK, you should be OK. WPA - PSK doesn't need a RADIUS server or certificates to work.
Pre-shared keys could conceivably be defeated by a brute force attack, but you can control that aspect somewhat with a lockout after X number of failed attempts.
You could also toss on some MAC filtering but, depending on your user base, it can be an administrative nightmare.
If all of your remote sites are tied back to your home network, you could try a central RADIUS, and local Certificate Authority (both can be on an existing WIN2K or better server) at the home office, then use the remote RADIUS on the AP to proxy the requests back to the home office.
There are a couple approaches depending on your specific environment. Without a CA and RADIUS server (that supports certificates - I don't think the AP RADIUS does), your options are fairly limited. LEAP and WPA-PSK are probably as good as you're like to get.

Many people like Mozilla Firefox. You can pick your preferred language from those listed in the 'Mac OS X' column here: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all.html
I'm sure others will offer other suggestions as well. One benefit of Firefox is that it has become fairly popular, so developers and designers often ensure that display and function work well for Firefox whereas verification may not happen with some other less popular browsers.
Here's another site which lists about as many browsers for Macs as you would ever want to try: http://www.pure-mac.com/webb.html. It looks to be up to date, as the Firefox version listed matches with the current version on the Mozilla site offered for OS X.
One thing that might be helpful is for you to list anything else you are specifically looking for in a browser besides compatibility, if anything This could help other forum members to direct you toward the 'best fit' for you.

Installed Lion on external drive per apple support, now won't install on Mac HD, because can't create recovery disc, does not give option besides restart to old OS

Why do I not have any publishing options besides MobileMe?

iWeb '08 is not showing any alternative publishing options.

With iWeb 2 (08) the only option now is to publish you site to a folder on your hard drive via the File ➙ Publish to a Folder option
and then upload the site folder and the index.html file to the ftp server with a 3rd party FTP client like YummyLite, Transmit, Cyberduck, etc.
Note: If you plan on upgrading to Mt. Lion know that iWeb 2 is not compatible with it. You will need to upgrade iWeb to Version 3.

Log and Transfer: Options besides Apple Pro Res 422 ?

Hi, I am now using a camcorder that records files to a card. When I use Log and Transfer in FCP, the resulting files default to Apple Pro Res 422, which are absolutely huge. Is there a way to set this up to transfer to a smaller file type, maybe of a quality similar to HDV?

There's a reason HDV files are small - they're highly compressed files. Final Cut is a professional product - it's built for high quality video, which requires storage space.
In some instances can change Log and Transfer preferences to transcode to ProRes422 LT, which is a lighter weight version of ProRes422. The files will be smaller, but they probably won't be as small as you're hoping they will be.
Open the Log and Transfer window. On the upper region there will be a gear, pick that and pick preferences. Find the camera type you're using and change the Target Format to ProRes422 LT if possible. As you did not tell us what kind of camera this is it is impossible to tell which one you need to change.
All that said, storage is pretty cheap. If you don't do a whole lot of editing a 320gb G-Drive Slim for $80 would be a great investment. If that isn't an option and you really need small files I would suggest editing in iMovie. I believe it converts everything to H.264, which is very small in comparison to ProRes. Don't try editing H.264 in FCP.

The sleep button on my 4G iPod Touch is stuck? Any other option besides the genius bar?

I have a 4th generation iPod Touch. Everything with my iPod was working well till about a week ago. A week ago I went to use my sleep button and discovered it wasnt working. When I removed my case I discovered the sleep button was stuck pressed into the iPod.
What I was wondering is if I had any other options? Is it my best bet to run to the Genius Bar before my warranty goes out in a few weeks?

I resolved my 3194 error by deleting all the references to apple out of the hosts file. I am still having major troubles but I was able to resolve this specific error.

I have an 80gb 5th gen. Using it with my Windows XP it was fine. I recently got a Windows Vista HP laptop and it worked fine until today, when I plugged it in and transfered music, iTunes froze midway. So I unplugged the iPod and iTunes closed. I plugged it in again and the blue screen came up saying there was a memory dump needed and it restarted the PC.
Additionally to crashing my PC, it messed up my iPod software so now I cannot listen to music or videos. The files are still on the iPod when I check through disk mode, but when I use the iPod itself no songs or movies show up. Some of the songs on the iPod when viewed through disk mode are also unrecognized when played through windows media player, a few are fine however but still do not show up on the iPod.
The files are still there when you use disk mode, but when you use the iPod no files show up. When I plug in my iPod to iTunes it says the iPod files are not readable by iTunes and that I must restore my iPod to company settings. Is there any way I can repair my iPod without having to restore it and erase all my music/videos, I have 74GB of media and some things are not on my computer anymore. Is it possible to restore the iPod to an earlier savepoint? I do not know if the iTunes program automatically creates backup points but if there is a way please let me know. I am very very reluctant to restore my iPod to company settings so help is greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance

I have exactly the same problem i use a 60 GB video ipod which shows that i tunes cant play content from the ipod when i connect it to any computer after connecting to the HP laptop that had vista on it. so please if someone knows how to fix it without loosing the media from the ipod tell me how to do it! i got 6500 songs on there!

Options besides reinstall to get MBP working right?

I purchased my MBP in April 2011. It's currently running OS X 10.8.2. I haven't done any wipe/reinstall of the OS since it was bought. About 3 months ago, I started getting weird behavior.
Usually, when a window in the background is clicked, it comes forward. Lots of time, I have to click twice before the background window gets focus.
Another issue is sometimes I can't type into the Safari address bar. I begin typing and nothing happens. Then I click the title bar and move the Safari window. For about a second, nothing still happens. Then all of the sudden, the window flies over to where the mouse pointer is. Some kind of delayed response. At this point I can now type. Sometimes, the window I previously had focus on is moved instead.
I don't see these issues when I log into another (basic/clean) user account on the same MBP. I'd like to avoid a wipe/reinstall of the OS since it will take forever to get everything reinstalled and configured. I have run Disk Utility several times. I have done the hard (keyboard) reset (before boot up) with Apple. None of this has helped. Is there any cleaner software or something else I can do to avoid wipe/reinstall?
Possibly is the keyboard/trackpad failing?

This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether your problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode* and log in to the account with the problem. The instructions provided by Apple are as follows:
Shut down your computer, wait 30 seconds, and then hold down the shift key while pressing the power button.
When you see the gray Apple logo, release the shift key.
If you are prompted to log in, type your password, and then hold down the shift key again as you click Log in.
*Note: If FileVault is enabled under OS X 10.7 or later, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t boot in safe mode. Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including wireless networking on certain Macs. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin. Test while in safe mode. Same problem? After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

Other options besides query joins?

I have a table column called "INC" - each cell has one of 3
values: null, 1, or 2. I want to know two things: how many 1s
exist, and how many 1s + 2s exist, so i can find the percentage of
1s compared to he total (1s + 2s, ignoring nulls).
I have a main query that gets other data then i created a
query1 to get the 1s from INC and joined the 2 queries for a
revised query, the i created a query to get the 2s then i joined
that to the revised query, creating a final query (for atotal of 5
queries).
Could i do this in a simpler way using "CASE" or subqueries
(i have tried these but hopefully they bombed because i did them
wrong)

The answer is correct except the third sub-query (table c) is
counting nulls which the original post didn't want.
An alternate solution that only makes one pass through table1
works like this (oracle syntax):

Options besides Oracle Express for self-trainng?

I took one Oracle DBA course, from Oracle, and was very dissapointed: two to three students per worksation... harly "hands-on", for $3 grand! So I down-loaded Express, bought some books and set out to teach myself. I am dissapointed to find that many key tools such as DBCA are not included in express. Yes, I know one can do everything from the command line, but I expect employers will be looking for someone with exposure to the full suit of oracle tools.
Does Oracle offer any sort of full-featured but affordable database for learning purposes only, perhaps one with a predetrmined life span as other software vendors to with evaluation copies?
