Skypes website SUCK

Iam sorry but its true, I been sitting here for 2 days now and I am about to explode.
I been using skype for a long time and now when I am gonna make the payment with a new credit card it says I have to many cards added already so I have to remove one if I wanna go on. ANY OTHER WEBSITE WOULD LINK TO THE PAGE WHERE YOU REMOVE THE CREDIT CARD FROM DIRECT, why do I need to look around the whole site like a jackass? especially when its nowhere to be found?
After probably an hour of looking through this horrible site and reading the support (which mostly of course does not link to the pages they talk about like ANY OTHER SITE IN THE WHOLE WORLD WOULD) I found a page, but with only 1 of my credit cards, so I removed it but when I try to add a new one its just the same **bleep**.
Sorry for the bad language but I am so fed up with this site. Please if Skype want my money, help me solve this, because best of all you of course dont have any customer support e-mail that I could send a mail to. At least not one that I easily could find.
Take this topic of frustration as valuble information on how to improve the site, I am a game developer and are working with complicated computer stuff EVERY SINGLE DAY, but I couldnt manage to use your site...thats bad!
So please help me, and improve this site becuase I cant be the first one going through this nonsense.

I too struggled with trying to make a change from paying monthly to yearly. More than 3 hours of messing around with this poorly developed website and still have not been able to make a payment to SKYPE. I guess Microsoft does not want my money. . . so I will find other ways to communicate with people. Seems like there are better services for free. I guess when revenue quits coming in, SKYPE will try to get me again as a customer.

  • Skype Website - Unable to add/see details of subsc...

This is an issue with the skype website.
I may be interested in the worldwite subscription but the website does not give me the possibility to check the details and/or purchase this subscription.
    In detail:
    1. I am selecting the "Discover Subscription" option to the left side of the screen:
    2. I see the "Skype Unlimited World" banner that offers a free month (I don't really care for the free month - I just want to see pricing and service details).
    3. I click the "Get your free month" button as there is nothing else to click.
    4. In the next page I click again the "Get your free month" button as there is nothing else to click.
    5. I get the following error and I can only restart the process which of course puts me in a loop.
"Oops - it looks like this trial has either expired or isn’t available for this Skype Name.
Please ensure you’ve signed in with the Skype Name the free trial was sent to."

  • Skype Website Won't Let Me Send Message To Custome...

I was charged way too early for an auto-renewal of a subscription, and to contact customer service about it, I went through the whole process several times on two different web browsers without luck, as the Skype website is having technical problems!
I was charged 8 days early in the billing cycle for my subscription, and need to get that adjusted, but if I can't contact customer service about  it, then what am I supposed to do?
After going through several attempts to get to the page where I could write my message and give the info requested (multiple times being asked to sign in again only to have to start all over again), I hit send and I was taken to a page that says:
"Sorry, we’re having some problems at the moment. Please try again later. In the meantime, you can post to the Skype Community or read our FAQs."
No, I can't post to the forum about this, because it's a private issue!
Also, I want to know why Skype, especially since it's owned by Microsoft, isn't charging US customers from a US payment gateway instead of a European gateway? The way Skype has iit set up now, every time a US customer pays them, the customer's bank charges them a 3% International Transaction Fee, which shouldn't be happening.

    Hello,
    1. According to your account you were charged correctly. You have 2 Subscriptions. To which one are you referring?
Due to the time it can take for some transactions to be processed, we charge your bank or PayPal account three days in advance to ensure prompt delivery of your subscription. You don’t lose these three days: your subscription is still valid for the full period that you sign up for (one, three or 12 months).
Although the recurring payment is taken three days in advance to avoid possible delays, your subscription minutes are reset based on the initial purchase date and time.
Minutes are added to Plans at or about midnight UTC/GMT on the due date.
    2. US banks have charged a Foreign Exchange Transaction Fee (FETF) for years on their credit (and debit) cards. Each bank has its own policy.
Some banks do not charge. Some banks charge 1%, 2% or 3%. They all vary. The details will be in your card agreement.
In recent times, banks have begun charging FETF for transactions in US dollars if the merchant of record is located outside the United States even though the transaction is in US Dollars.
Skype's billing and payment facilities are located in Luxembourg.

  • Found a fake Skype website

I've found a fake Skype website and want to report to Skype team
    This:  [URL removed by Moderator]
Hopefully Skype team will do anything to the site.
    Thanks.

Indeed it's a (IMHO very baldy executed) fake website which I've forwarded to our fraud team to deal with. Thanks a lot for flagging (bow)

  • Always redirected to local Skype website of anothe...

Whenever I want to buy a new subscription, I was redirected to a local version of the Skype web site of my home country (which I registered my account with initially). The problem is that it ask me to pay using local bank accounts and doesn't have an option to use up my existing Skype credits. Since I'm now in the US, I don't have a way to pay through them and I also don't want to waste my Skype credits. Customer service responded that the only way to use Skype credits is to send SMS messages or to use them for Skype Wifi (both of which I don't need), and the only way not to be redirected for payment is to sign up for another account (which I want to avoid too because I have a long list of contacts..) I'm pasting my problem here in the hope that someone in the relevant department can see it and provide a way in the future to get around the issue (change account type, select which website to use for payment, etc.). Thanks!

The reason why you are being redirected to a Taiwanese Skype website is either the creation country of your account is in Taipei, Taiwan or you went to Taiwan and logged in using Taiwan’s IP address. Our partner in Taiwan is detecting your account’s IP address, which is why you have been redirected to our partner’s website.
PC Home is a Skype Partner selling Skype Credits and other Skype Products in Taiwan, to provide you with the best possible service, they handle all your payment and customer support in both English and Traditional Chinese. Hence we have migrated to ensure you get the best support.
To fix this issue for you, contact PC Home via their website, visit: http://skype.pchome.com.tw/cs.jsp or email them at [email protected] for the un-tagging of your account. To have it un-tagged, kindly provide them the following documents:
Copy of their telephone bill/statement showing their new address. Kindly remove any sensitive information before sending.
Proof of Identification with the address included.

  • Skype websites in Korea are 'kidnapped' by Daesung...

    Dear Skype and Microsoft engineers,
I am a foreigner in Korea and I want to connect to the international Skype website.
When I go to skype.com in Korea, I get automagically redirected to daesung.com, which offers a very, VERY poor skype website. The options and service on this website is below any standard! The redirection prevents all my attempts to get to the international Skype website!
This is not only bad for foreigners in Korea, but for everybody who wants to connect to Skype in Korea.
Is there a way that Skype and/or Microsoft step up and stops this nonsense by daesung company?
    Thank you!

    This is an urgent topic!
    Please read all information!
I've recently been a victim in a host kick... someone asked me skype what was my skype name and then I was kicked offline for 5 minutes!
I later found out this website: skype2ip.org - They state they're partnered with Skype/Microsoft even though they are clearly not...
Could you guys tell me what I can do? These people are giving my IP out when I do NOT want them to.

  • What is it with the Skype website anyway?

I have tried from several computers to buy a $2.99/mo Canada/US unlimited Subscription. When I click the Buy button the Internet Explorer logo on the tab just spins and spins forever.
I do not have popups blocked. I have also tried it using several Skype accounts.

slow. I tried the other one, but I didn't touch that setting anymore, after seeing vcore at 2.0V while the board was on ultra turbo. That reading was from core center, so who the heck knows if it is valid.

  • Can't login to Skype with Microsoft account

    Hello!
My problem is I can't login to Skype (website and program both) with Microsoft account. When I try to login to Skype on website, it says: There is a problem signing in with Microsoft account. Please try again or sign in with Skype details instead.
Please help me, I tried so many things and nothing works...

And me. And I tried to reset my password by getting the "password token" emailed to me. Once received I clicked on the link to reset my password and it told me that my "password token wasn't recognized" and to enter it manually. I did that, going as far as to cut and paste the token, and it wasn't "recognized" again.
And when I was able to sign in, I couldn't get any new contacts, even though I knew they were presently signed in.

  • Skype account blocked and they won't unblock it.

I had this really old skype account, I believe I created it when they released skype, but I had like 7 contacts or less, and used it like once a month, sometimes once a year, I don't know. But I used msn messenger a lot, and my account was really old aswell, and when they merged it with skype, I had to merge my accounts, so that's what I did. but at that time, it was so complicated, you had like two contact lists, on the same software you could send messages as a messenger account, or a skype account, to messenger or skype contacts, and it was really not user friendly, it was impossible to use, even tried to clean my list, deleting duplicated entries, people i never talked to, but still didn't do it, so once again, I abandoned skype and went to facebook. so last year I went away and wanted to do a video call to my girlfriend, so we installed skype. I didn't remember what account name I should use, or wich password was correct, and for some reason my account got blocked. i'm not even sure that i entered a wrong password, but it got blocked anyway. when i tried to retrieve it, said i had to contact support and cmon, to reset your password you have to contact support???? no thanks, decided not to use skype again, and made a video call with facebook.  but as of this week, I wanted to make a video call from my android phone, and decided to give skype another go, people told me that it was a good video app, so why not. and there was i trying to retrieve my password, when i ran through this form to fill with a lot of irrelevant information: if i "used credit card to pay for a skype service or if i used paypal." how the hell should i remember a thing i did once in my life and many years ago? i don't know if i used credit card or paypal, how should i know wich credit card i used? ok, next field: "what email address you provided when you registered." ok, when i registered my first skype account, or my messenger email wich i merged later? because i don't know what email i was using back when they launched skype, ffs. so i put my messenger email and procceeded. next question, when did i create my skype account (year AND month). again, my old account, or the one i merged later? and how the hell should i freaking now the year or even the month i created it??? was like centuries ago, cmon!!?! next question, "provide five names that are in your contact list." heck, I had hundreds of people on my messenger, wich i often deleted and replaced, and barely 5 or 7 contacts on skype, wich i never used, and when they merged, i reorganized my list, so i had no idea wich list they were talking about, or who was on it. next question, "what is the total cost of a recent order that you have made." you're kidding, right? next, on what date did you place the recent order (dd/mm/yy)? ... next, "please provide two phone numbers that you have recently called or contacted using skype." god, i tried to order a pizza once, and i called my mother another time, but how am i supposed to remember wich pizza place, and if i called mother at home, work, cellphone 1, 2, or what? jesus. I answered the other questions properly, but apparently they 'don't have enough information to retrieve my account" thanks microsoft. I really wanted to use that account, since it's linked with my microsoft email, wich is also my xbox live account, and some other stuff, and I don't want to have 2 ms addresses, but ok, i really needed to make a video call, so i tried to create another account. I was on my pc trying to solve this problem, so I opened skype website and clicked create account. luckily (or is it?) there was an option to create account with facebook, so that's what I did. and when I went to my phone to login, bam, no option to log in with facebook, and when you create an account that way, you just don't have a name or password to log in on your mobile. good job ms! thanks for ruining my day, and good luck beating apple, google or facebook when you keep treating your costumers like **bleep**.

I've recently noticed that my skype account has been blocked. I don't know what the issue is. I have the password, but it won't let me make calls. I have cash on the account too. But now it is requesting me to fill in forms. What year did I set up my account? 10 years ago or so, maybe 11, maybe 9, 8, 7, not sure. What card did I use to last put money on it.... not sure, it was about a year ago, debit or credit? Can't remember. But out of the 10 questions, I seem to have got one wrong, but it won't tell me which one. I have asked customer service for help, but the genius just asked me to refill in the form. I did again, same issue, something wrong (waiting for 24 hours for failure notification on both occasions) I've asked him to point out what is wrong, but genius refuses to. Honestly, a pathetic customer service experience. 0/100 score. Just some autogenerated BS from India. I've had to now set up an entirely new Skype account. So warning, if your account is blocked, don't bother with customer service. They are useless. Just set up a new account and forget about what ever cash is on your account. Thanks Skype!!

  • Need to Immediately Deactivate a Skype Number

I purchased a Skype number that turns out to have been previously owned by a scam operation and is still receiving calls.  I alreaday purchased a second Skype number to replace it, and canceled the first number.
The problem is that the first number is still active until the end of the subscription in 2015.
How can I deactivate this number immediately?   I don't expect a refund, I just want it to go away  now.    I really don't want to shut down the entire Skype account and lose my Skype name just to deactivate a phone number.

Hi, Kevin, and welcome to the Community,
Skype needs to be alerted - and due to the nature of the number being abused, I would request a refund!  Here is a link to the instruction on how to request a refund: request a refund
Better yet, here is a link to the instruction on how to contact Skype Customer Service via their secure portal: Contact Customer Service
Here are a few extra notes to help you find your way:
You will need to proceed through each step, one at a time. Sign on to the Skype website as requested. Choose the subject and topic which most closely matches the item you need assistance with. Then, continue past Step 2 of the instruction where several articles from the FAQ library will appear for you to review, and proceed to Step 3, Continue Support Request (the blue "button" appears at the lower right corner of the website page). You may also skip through Step 4 where you will be referred back here to the Community; no need to do this as the Community is where you started. When you complete the webform and click Submit, your information is relayed to Skype and you will receive a reply via e-mail.
If you are a Skype Premium or other eligible customer, you will be routed to start an instant message chat session with a Customer Service agent.
    Regards,
    Elaine

  • Get An Error Message When I Try to Get a Skype #

I have tried many times to get a Skype #.  Everytime I log onto the website to get a Skype #, I get this message:
"There's been a problem. To complete your purchase, please sign into your account from Skype."
When I log into my Skype client, it doesn't make a difference, and there is no option in the client to a Skype number.
Any help with this would be appreciated.  I would really like to get a Skype number so people can call me.

I log into my Skype account via the Skype website.  I then click on the Skype Number option, which takes me to the "Get a Skype Number" button.  I click the link, enter my state in the pull-down menu, and choose a city that is closest to mine (since my city no longer has any numbers available). When I choose the number I want, it takes me to this screen, with the following error:
    The error reads:
There's been a problem. To complete your purchase, please sign into your account from Skype.
I am also logged in my Skype client/program, but there is no way to complete the purchase from either the website or my Skype client.

  • Skype on Mac OS X 10.5.8

Hi! Struggling to get Skype working again on MAC OS X 10.5.8 I repasted into the Info.plist but now I have lost video. Which version will solve all bugs?

We're sorry to hear that this has caught you off guard. As you pointed out, we began the process of dropping support for 10.5 about 9 months ago. At this point, that process has been completed and you are no longer able to use Skype on Leopard. We sent out several emails warning about this, as well as providing an alert on Skype Home.
At this point, your only option to continue using Skype for Mac is to upgrade to 10.6. Apple charges $20 for this upgrade, and you can get it here: http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573Z/A/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard
You can of course continue to use Skype on other platforms, including iOS and Android. You could also create a Skype Number to call your fiancee (and another to have you fiancee call you) using the PSTN phone network. This wouldn't involve video, but could still be cheaper than placing an international call directly. You can purchase these things on the Skype website by logging in using your Skype name.
If you want to use video chat, you will need to upgrade your OS. As covered in another thread on this topic, Skype is the last major VOIP provider to drop support for Leopard. More information on why we have done this is available here:

  • Skype on Mac OS X 10.5.8 suddenly stopped working ...

    Hello everyone,
I'm in a bit of trouble, I'm aware that support for my OS is very limited now, I managed to fix the problem last year by redownloading 6.3.0.604 and it worked (sort of) like a dream, then suddenly last night it logged me out and refused to let me back in until I upgrade which is literally impossible.
I'm not going to upgrade the OS mainly because I am low on funds and the computer is pretty old but everything else works fine.
Need Skype to talk to my fiance in the States.
I've searched all over and I can't seem to find any sort of idea of what happened so suddenly, would really appreciate any ideas on getting it to work!
