hello all
i am new on this site and i want to ask about my lenovo thinkpad SL-510 TYPE 2847-BWG .
i have read Detailed specifications in the site of lenovo about my laptop model ( i attch the link )

and see that my laptop model support up to 8GB maximum memory with Dual-channel capable
so i want to know please if i need only 2 stick of memory example 2x4GB that must be the same to
be work on dual Together if i want my laptop have the max 8gb memory ?
and my second question if this two models of memory sticks support with my laptop
the first model of memory is :

Yes, a matched pair (2x4GB) is correct for 8GB dual channel.
I have had good luck with Samsung, and I think
Corsair website has a tool to choose correct memory for you model,
as do Crucial, Kingston, and others.

Supported Canon scanners in Windows 7 64 bit
I realise that the Canon N670U scanner is not supported by Canon, but according to the Canon Website, the LiDe 20 scanner is. Up until now, both scanners used the same driver, so it seems strange that one is supported and the other is not. However, though Canon says new drivers will be on the website for the release of Windows 7, none has appeared yet. Can anyone explain this.
As an aside, I can get the scanner to work using Vuescan, but the cost of buying this utility and being tied to the supplier, compared with simply buying a new scanner is not worth it. It does prove, though that a N670U can work in a Windows 7 64 bit environment.Peter, I'm running into the same issue as you. Have to agree with you, this is a great, reliable scanner. Unfortunately, it does not look like Canon has any plans to support it in Windows 7 32-bit -- let alone Windows 7 64-bit. The below list of supported products is from Canon's website.

The full solution, off the product page, is the recommended solution for this product. It works for most windows applications and installed by default.
The PCL 5 UPD driver only works for the 1606 models and is recommeneded for general office printing and 3rd party or custom software programs.
The XPS print driver (off the prodcut page) is recommened for capturing and printing exactly what is on the screen.
When you install the UPD driver, I would recommend that your install it in the traditional mode instead of the dynamic mode. Just my preference. This way you don't have to wait for it to search for the printer everytime you want to print.

My Zen microphoto was working fine until yesterday. I got a firmware error msg so I downloaded the latest firmware for microphoto (.3.0) and uploaded it using my bf's laptop (he's still got XP and media player 0). It uploaded successfully, but I'm still getting that error msg. Am I missing something?
I may have a defecti've unit and I have a warranty on it that allows me to replace it for another one, but I'm just like to know if this is a compatibility issue vs. a bum player issue before I do so.

Go to Solution.For others with this problem, there are a couple solutions. First you can use the ALT codes, but this requires a separate numeric keypad (not the numbers along the top of a laptop). Instructions for that are here.
With a laptop you need to use one of the alternate methods here.
Or if you are using Firefox or PaleMoon you can use this addon. The last is my favorite because it allows you to use characters from any language, including extended characters, with no need to lookup a code. Here is the Euro € and it took 2 mouse clicks.

Scanner support in Photoshop CS6 Windows 64bit
Does CS6 restore the twain scanner function on Windows machines that was lost in CS5, or do I have to continue to keep CS4 on my desktop?
ThanksThe TWAIN support in Photoshop CS6 for Windows is exactly the same as it was in CS5 and earlier. You can download the TWAIN plugin from adobe.com, and install it in the 32-bit version of Photoshop. You will also need to install TWAIN drivers for your scanner by getting the appropriate software from the manufacturer's web site or installation disk. You will need to run the 32-bit version of Photoshop to use your scanner.
There is no 64-bit TWAIN support in Photoshop on Windows primarily because the TWAIN data source manager (DSM) that Microsoft ships with Windows is 32-bit only.
While it is possible for more technically experienced users to download and install a 64-bit compatible DSM to replace the Microsoft version (see twain.org), there are two problems: first, the Photoshop TWAIN plugin is 32-bit only, and will not work in the 64-bit version of Photoshop regardless. But even if it did, and you installed a 64-bit DSM, the second problem is that there are virtually no 64-bit compatible TWAIN scanner drivers (data sources) available from scanner manufacturers (it's a classic chicken & egg problem--there's litte demand for 64-bit data sources, so there are very few 64-bit data sources.)
Dedicated scanning applications like VueScan are popular among people who have more demanding needs for controlling the scanning process, or do a large volume of scanning. The WIA and TWAIN plugins for Photoshop are intended for more casual use, and may be preferable to the expense and overhead of a separate application.
