  • SLA reporting in SCOM - can I sort Health from Computer?

    Hi,
I am trying to do what others have done before in creating an SLA report from SCOM. I am going down the route of using the Health Service Agent watcher as what I am going to report on rather than Windows computer etc.
My first problem was just reporting on "PROD" rather than "DEV" servers which are all in the same environment. I could do this with manual groups but wanted something dynamic. Using Kevin's article I have got this working -
Creating dynamic groups via registry key
All well and good. The problem now was that I cant use that for creating the actual groups (OK for Windows Computer but not the health service agent watcher). The following then helped and worked (with a little hacking of the XML for SCOM2012) -
Adding health service to the groups
This is fine and does add the health service watcher so you have this AND the Windows computer object.
To be honest I only real wanted the health service watcher in my report but could live with the Windows computer too. However when I run the report now I get both instances of the server (computer and watcher) but they are not even together in the report
    - i.e. it may list it as - SERVERA (windows) SERVERB (health) SERVERB (windows) SERVERA (health) so very unorganized.
Is there anyway I can create a dynamic health service group or perhaps anyway to tidy up the SLA??
    thanks

    Hello,
Yes, But I recommend connecting to both machines in turn and choosing "Manually Manage Music and Videos" and setting all the settings before putting any content on.

  • Issue with SLA reports of Exchange 2010 MP in SCOM 2007 R2 !!

    Hi,
I have issues with Exchange 2010 MP SLA reporting. Whenever report is run it fails on some or the other dataset(Outage**,SLAbyDAte etc.) When I digged in, I found that it is connecting to DW Exchange 2010 Availability tables + Planned maintainance +
outage table. The tables were not available in the DW, not sure how it got removed. Initially I tried by uninstalling and installing MP(Exchange 2010  & Exchange 2010 reports both) if relevant tables get created automatically but it did
not help and I was still facing the same issue. Then I tried to create the tables manually and check if it could resolve the issue. There was unique ID associated(different in different computer) with the name of most of the tables. I tool it from Exchange
report data source which exists in reporting server. But I could see that table remain empty with no records there and SLA report start giving different issues stating table instances do not exist.
Could anyone help me to restore the SLA report of Exchange 2010 MP ? How should I ensure that data start populating the tables ? I am also helpless here because we do not have correct DW dump to restore back to earlier when it was working fine.

    Hi,
Based on my research, to correctly install the Correlation Engine, consider the following when you install the Exchange 2010 Monitoring Management Pack:
Determine which server will host the Correlation Engine. While not strictly required, it's strongly recommended that the Correlation Engine be installed on the Root Management Server computer.
Make sure that you download and install the Exchange 2010 Management Pack that matches the operating system for the selected server. You can install the 32-bit or 64-bit version.
Make sure that you run the Microsoft Installer (.msi) package on the server where you want the Exchange 2010 Management Pack and the Correlation Engine to be installed.
After the installation is complete, the Correlation Engine service will have been installed on the server, and the Management Pack files will have been copied to the
System Center Management Packs folder. By default, the installation directory is C:\Program Files\System Center Management Pack.

  • Availability "SLA" report - wrong "Planned Maintance" for some servers

Just wondering if anybody knows of any bugs or perhaps what I am doing “wrong” here when I have created an availability “SLA” report
The report is the generic, availability and tagets a large group (1000) of SCOM health service watchers . Under downtime I am checking the options for “Planned Maintenance” and “Unplanned Maitenance”. When I run the report most seem correct – I spot
servers I know have been down and small amount of planned downtime for patching. However I
have bunch of servers (mabe 20) that all show pretty much 100% planned maintenance and all with the same odd uptime of say 4 hours exactly. I cant find anything common with these servers. I even removed the SCOM agent from one server, left
a litte while and re-installed and this still shows up in this fashion. Any ideas?
    I am running SCOM2012 SP1 CU4
    Many thanks

    Hi,
It seems like that there are cache data for the agent, what is the result when we use report tasks under monitoring console for that specific server?
If the issue still there, then I would like to suggest you refer to the below blog, and follow the article to re-install the agent:

  • SCCM- SLA reports.

    Hi All,
Can somebody share how we can run SLA reports for SCCM software updates features. IF we can ru  it from SCOM what should be the SLO that needs to be defined , before we can go-ahead and run SLA reports.
    Rgs,

The only way to get rid of unknown compliance state is to troubleshoot why your PCs are not return data to CM07. There are many reason why they will show unknown state, these include:
    PCs are turn off
PCs have a GPO prevent them from scanning against the CM07 SUP.
    WMI issue
    Windows Update issue.
    Etc.
The bottom line is that you need to troubleshoot each PC and determine the reason why.

  • I am unable to get a proper report if i schedule a performance report in SCOM 2007R2

    Hi,
A very Good day to All.
I have created a Performance report in SCOM 200R2 to trace performance reports for specific counters. I also receive the report VIA email, But the problem is i get the same report all the time. I need the report on hourly basis but with the value of that
    particular specific times.
    Example:
    =========
When i schedule a report for data needed for CPU utilisation from a group of servers from  1/1/2014 9AM - 10AM i get the report for that and in every 1 hr (As per the time what is set in SCOM). I get the same report every hour for 1/1/2014 9AM
    - 10AM only i want an email to triger for every one Hour with its current value.
    Eg: 1/1/2014 10AM - 11AM,  11AM - 12PM's CPU Report etc.
Can any one plz help me on this.

there is  no option to doing this.

  • Solution Manager SLA reporting

I use SolMan to create different SLA reports - for different clients in
    one solution.
The problem I'm facing is that the "General Settings for
SL Report xx" data are not saved for the report chosen, but for all
reports: the address, header and frontpage data saved as the last for
report x overwrites the same data for other reports. Additionally some
data even if can be entered there, are not fully displayed on the
report - sometimes they are shorter on the report than in configuration.
Is it possible to save the (for example) customer data for only one
report, and the different data for the other report?

    Hello,
No there are not any daily reports for Alerts on Solution Manager.
However there is a reporting functionality in Central Performance History Reporting in the Alert Monitor.
The functions of the Central Performance History (CPH) include creating report definitions and reports. You can also call these functions from the Monitoring Attributes - Detail Data screen in the Alert Monitor. All reporting functions are available to you, and operation is simpler (especially for creating standard reports):

  • Schedule a custom report in scom 2007 R2

    Hi Guys,
I have created a custom report using visual studio for scom 2007 r2. I can create adhoc reports using that but when I want to schedule it I dont know how to do that. Since default reports from scom has other optional dates like yesterday, Today, last week,

    Please help me.
    Thanks,

    Hi!
You have to add the correct controls in the parameter block, add the code-block, add report parameters as in the parameter block and replace query parameters.

  • The problem with forecast reports in SCOM 2012 after integration with VMM 2012

    Hello.
I have problem with forecast reports in SCOM 2012 after integration with VMM 2012. All other reports (not forecasting) works fine. For example, report “Host Group Forecasting” don’t work. The report is generated, but I have error: “Subreport

SQL collation for all SQL DB instances (SCOM and VMM and SCOM reporting) – “SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI_AS”
SQL Analysis service: SQL collation – “Latin1_General” ; language for the server – English (United States)
I think the problem in regional settings. By my opinion there are two possible mistakes:
SQL collation  for all SQL DB instances. May be need use “Latin1_General_CI_AS”

Need change regional setting. Question is for what (OS regional setting, SQL Analysis service settings,…) ?

Error: Subreport could not be shown
Opening a report for Client Security might result in the following error being displayed in one or more areas of the report: "Error: Subreport could not be shown."
    Background
There are two possible reasons for this error:
    1. Wrong location   The reporting server is pointing to the wrong computer running SQL Server or a SQL Server instance.
    2. Insufficient permissions   The account configured (in SQL Server Reporting Services) to connect to the reporting database does not have appropriate permissions for the database.
    Solution
To determine which reason is causing the error, attempt to directly open the subreport reporting the error, by clicking the name of the subreport.
If the reporting server is pointing to a wrong location, the report displays an error similar to the following:
    Error message
An error has occurred during report processing.
Cannot create a connection to data source 'SystemCenterReporting'. Cannot open database "SystemCenterReporting" requested by the login. The login failed. Login failed for user username.
To verify the correct SQL Server computer and instance path
In Report Manager, navigate to the report generating the error and click the Properties tab.
Click Data Sources and under a Shared data source, note the path.
Open the reporting Web site. If you chose the default virtual directory for reports, the URL is: http://hostname/Reports/
If you chose to secure the viewing of reports with HTTPS, the URL is: https://hostname/Reports/
    Click SCDW.
In the Connection type list, ensure that Microsoft SQL Server is selected.
In the Connection string box, ensure that the correct SQL Server computer and instance name are entered.
    Note:
A period (.) denotes the local computer.
If the account has insufficient permissions, the report displays an error similar to the following:
    Error message
An error has occurred during report processing. (rsProcessingAborted) Query execution failed for data set 'DSDashboardComputersTrend'. (rsErrorExecutingCommand) EXECUTE permission denied on object 'prSAS_UX_DashboardComputersTrend', database 'SystemCenterReporting',
    schema 'dbo'.
To determine if you are experiencing the SQL Server permissions issue
Open the reporting Web site. If you chose the default virtual directory for reports, the URL is:http://hostname/Reportserver/
If you chose to secure the viewing of reports with HTTPS, the URL is:https://hostname/Reportserver/
Click Microsoft Operations Manager Reporting, click Microsoft Forefront Client Security, and scroll to DashboardComputersTrend.
    Click DashboardComputersTrend.
If you are experiencing a SQL Server permissions issue, an error similar to the preceding error appears.
To grant permissions to the SQL Server computer
    1. In Report Manager, click SCDW and note the account in the Connect using section. This is the account under which the database is contacted.
    2. On the server with the System Center Reporting database, start SQL Server Management Studio.
    3. In the tree, expand Security, and then expand Logins. Do one of the following:
If the user account is listed, right-click the account, click Properties, and then go to step 5.
If the user account is not listed, right-click Logins and choose New Login.
    4. In the Login name box, enter the user account (domain\username).
    5. In the Login Properties dialog box, click User Mapping, and then under Users mapped to this login, select the System Center Reporting check box.
    6. Under Database role membership for: System Center Reporting, select the db_owner check box, and then click OK.

  • SLA Report generate and download automatically

    Hi,
I u2018m looking for a way to generate  SLA report automatically (in batch) and also download it to a file system or move it to a SAP Portal KM environment.
Has anybody an idea how I can doit ?
    Regrads
    Robert

    Hi Carsten,
    thank you for your answers.
you have to configure your button to submit the request "download". so give your
button the name "download" - you can set the display name like you want - but the >>"internal" name must be "download". Then you can use your condition as described.
... and .. the button must not have a target ...Sorry I think I was not clear enough on this. I allready did what you described without success. I thought there was some typo but I could not find one.
The button name is set to download and the condition is 'Request = Expression 1' in the select list and download in the textarea.
Unfortunately the process does not execute with this condition whereas it is executed when there is no condition. So I think there has to be some typo I did not recognized so I have to search again.
just make sure in your link that the :REQUEST is download
    f?p=&APP:ID.:&APP_PAGE_ID.:&SESSION.:download:...
("download" is the request parameter)Thank you, that's what I searched.

  • Server Uptime Availability Reports in SCOM

    Hi Friends,
Whenever i am running the Availability Report for an server by adding the computer object, it is calculating all the monitors present inside the server and giving us the average/aggregate report as the server Uptime.
Because of that we are getting wrong server availability information. We need to submit our Server availability report to our client and we commited to give 99.5% uptime.
We have used Uptime.exe tool to take up the exact uptime and it is showing the exact downtime.. The only advantage and the reason we opted to take the reports in SCOM is, scom has the ability to exclude the planned maintenance from the total as downtime.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Dinesh Sundaram
Please help me to take the exact report which suffice my requirement. I think we can do that with the help of SQL Reporting Services. If yes, kindly guide me to take the steps to do thatThanks & Regards,
    Dinesh Sundaram

    Hi Dinesh
This is by design - "Whenever i am running the Availability Report for an server by adding the computer object, it is calculating all the monitors present inside the server and giving us the average/aggregate report as the server Uptime."
What you need to do is Add the health service watcher object rather than the computer object.
So in the availability report, when you select add object, type in a server name and search and you'll see the search results include a number of items. One of those has an icon of a pair of glasses (watcher!) - class health service watcher.
This will give you availability of the agent which is (I think) the metric that you want.
    Cheers
