SLATEBOOK 14 android Kitkat not getting 1080p video streaming

How  come i am not getting full HD when streaming content such as youtube, netflix, google movie etc...? On youtube the best it will do is 720p. Anyone have any idea why?

So, I  went into a few youtube videos and tried them out on my Windows laptop and on my android tablet. I tested the android athority channel and the videos on my other devices allows me to choose 1080p in the player/app settings. But my new Slatebook 14 doesn't give me that choice. It only allows me to choose up to 720p. There isn't even a 1080p option in the settings on the Slatebook 14.  Same thing when I try to stream/download movies from my cinemanow, google play movies app, even my flixster app. All those allow me to choose HD or SD on my other devices. The Slatebook 14 just doesn't give me that option.

    Muneer-
What App are you using to get the audio stream?  Safari should work unless Flash is involved.
I have used the free NPR App to listen to radio stations, but I don't know if it works with TV stations.

  • Can not get a video from my PC into iTunes.

I can't seem to get my video from my PC into iTunes, so I can play them on my iPad. I've tried adding from the library....nothing. I've tried dragging and dropping into iTunes directly from the folder....nothing. Am I over looking something? Please help.

I have an iPad 1 and when I wanted to put a couple of movies on my iPad I found that it would not import them until I reformatted the video from the .AVI they were in to the apple MP4 format and afterward iTunes imported them and I ran the Sync to iPad function and they went right on without any problems.
Hope this helps as Apple doesn't seem to want or care about supporting the iPad 1's. wouldn't have spent the money then if I would have know this would happen since my iPad is not quite 2 years old. I have a 5 year old Dell laptop and they still give total support for it and I paid much less for it !
    Good luck.

  • I have a 3g ipod touch and bought a TV adaptor so as to view the iTunes festival on my TV - Why can I not get the video ? all I get is sound - any thoughts ?

I bought a TV adaptor and docking pod for my iPod touch 3g so as to watch the iTunes festival as my pc will not stream properly. I cannot however get the video all I get is the sound  -Any Thoughts would be welcomed.
    Cheers

    Hi,
I have the Apple MB128ZA/B Adaptor  and the Apple Universal Dock.
My settings read TV SIgnal - PAL
With other videos already on my iPod the video and sound works so I assumed that the iTunes festival stream was probably not compatible but if I am wrong I would be pleased to know.

  • Red lines/glitched 1080p video streaming XBMC in Mavericks

    Hello,
This is so weird because I don't think this was happening the first weekend after installing Mavericks, but in the last few days, my XBMC is playing 1080p videos I'm streaming all messed up.  There are odd red lines and glitches in the video that do not go away.  720P seems to work fine, and even some 1080p works but I'd say 75%+ of all 1080p videos are doing this now.  I'm wondering if it has happened since me messing with Airplay as a 2nd display (not mirrored) to my Apple TV3 or the HDMI video output I've connected/disconnected several times.  Rebooting, reinstalling XBMC, you name it, nothing now is seeming to get rid of these playback issues.  Has anyone else ran into this? Hoping there is some sort of workaround as it is driving me nuts!
    Thanks.

Same problem here. Same results in full screen and windowed. Noticing that overlays are fine, looks like a video decoding issue.

  • Get underlaying video stream

Hello. I am new to media in Java. I want to take a byte stream from a webcam and send it via a JXTA socket to my remote computer (this is going on a robotic submarine). What I can't figure out is how to get the byte stream from the camera and then feed it to a player on the other end. How do I get the underlaying byte stream?

    1. Use JMF to write the video to a temp file (preferably in the ram). Read the temp file into a JXTA socket to be sent. On the client side, read the data in the socket into a temp file. Point a player at the temp file to play the video. If you're wanting to do this, then rather than writing it to a temp file, you could simply create a custom DataSink and have the DataSink send the file via your JXTA socket.
The entire file will be passed into your code, and you can do whatever you want with the data. The example just sends the data to be printed in a function called printDataInfo.
    2. Use the RTP protocol in the JMF libraries to push a stream onto a port on the loopback address. Read the stream on the port as a UDP byte stream instead of an RTP stream. Feed the recieved byte stream in to the JXTA socket. On the client side, read the JXTA socket stream into a udp stream and send it to another port on the local machine. Read the UDP stream as a RTP stream back into a player. Or, you could simply write a custom RTPConnector that would replace the UDP socket with a JXTA socket, so you'd be able to deliver the video packets via JXTA instead of UDP.
Swap out the UDP sockets in this example for JXTA sockets.
Of the two ideas, the RTPConnector option is probably the easier to implement because the sample code already does everything, you just have to swap out the kinds of sockets it uses.

  • Android devices not getting push notifications after a while

We have just installed a new Exchange 2013 setup and started to move mailboxes across. Users that have Android devices though are noticing that push notifications are not reaching them and checking in the ECP I can see their last sync times are a long time
    ago!
If they restart their devices then the sync occurs and push notifications work for about half a day then stop again.
We have no issues with any iOS devices getting push notifications. We have a range of Android JellyBean and KitKat deployed so not looking device related. If I turn off push notification on the Android device and force a manual sync every 5 minutes that
works and currently seems to be my workaround. But this will drain the battery quicker now.
The flow of notification would be simple, Exchange2013 > Firewall > Internet > Device
Anyone else experiencing issues like this and know what to check? We have checked all networking aspects and its not a network/firewall issue.

After hours of searching online and testing and troubleshooting I found the issue actually was affecting push notifications to all mobile devices on Exchange 2013 where their mailboxes had been migrated recently from Exchange 2010.
There is a bug in Exchange 2013 CU5 which I am on which causes issues after mailbox migrations and requires the ActiveSync app pool in IIS to require a restart after mailbox moves to function correctly.
After I completed an iisreset within a command prompt on the CAS server everything started working for push notifications.
Lets hope this gets fixed in CU6!

  • I can not  get a video in Pr.Pro

Please give me some tips,no I do not have fire wire.I took a dvd "robin hood"

    Brenda,
To try and distill, what others have offered:
1.) Premiere Pro is designed to edit material, that you shoot with a video camera, that records to a mini-DV tape. It will edit other material, but not without problems.
2.) DVDs are for watching, and not editing. You can rip (the term for getting the files on the DVD into another, possibly editable format) the DVD, but, in the case of the two, that you have mentioned, Robin Hood, and Starwars 1, they should be copy-protected, meaning that you cannot rip them. If that is the case, I do not think you will be able to edit the material on the DVDs.
3.) This forum is made up of people who use Premiere and not people, who work for Adobe. It is not a technical service site. It may take days, or even weeks, for someone to see and read your posts, and then to help you, if they can. Posting several times, will not speed this up, and will only confuse the issues. Changing your login name will not help, and will only confuse the people on the board.
Others have recommended Adobe Premiere Elements. It is a good program, and much easier to use, than Premiere Pro. It will also handle more file formats, meant for watching. However, given that you have DVDs of commercial movies, I do not think that there is a legal way to use it, regardless of your intended use.

  • In camera on iPad with the iso7 I can not get the video aspect of camera to work., any ideas?

In the camera app. I can take pics. But when I touch the video ,to change to taking a video it does not let me. All I can do is take pics. Any ideas  of what I can do to make this work.

It took me a whole to work it out as well, it's not at all obvious. you don't press "video", like any normal person would assume. You have to slide those words up and down. Some of the design choices they have made in ios7 are just plain weird. My favourite is in Game Center... They have hidden the "play game" option behind three little dots.

Uninstalling and re-installing Flash should solve it:
    Follow these directions to uninstall:

Then re-run the installer you've already downloaded, or go to http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer to download.

I'm a little confused here... do you want to upload a
pre-recorded video file, or have a live broadcast (like from a
    webcam?)
If it's live broadcast, you'll want to use FMS.
If it's a prerecroded video, FMS might be a bit of expensive
overkill. You could just as easily use PHP to begin playing the
video from a given byte (see
    http://flashcomguru.com/index.cfm/2005/11/2/Streaming-flv-video-via-PHP-take-two

Whenever I try to watch any Apple keynote presentations (e.g. from WWDC) Quicktime loads a window and then I wait... and wait. But nothing happens - only a blue bar flashing back and forth. This has happened ever since I moved from Panther on an iBook to Tiger on a MacBook and now Leopard. What's the problem?

If you do a search of these forums you will find many solutions to your Keynote problem. Perhaps one of them will work for you.

  • Can't get 1080p output to TV in windows 7 under bootcamp

I have no problems using my 40in Samsung LN610 1080p TV as extension of my Snow Leopard desktop (though it was rather tricky to get it running). However, I can NOT get 1080p output in windows 7 under bootcamp.
In detail, when I use TV as an extension of the desktop, TV shows no HDMI signal coming in if I try to use 1080p or 1080i output (using NVIDIA panel or standard win7 properties panel). However, when I drop the output to 720p then the signal gets through and TV displays 720p just fine.
I hope I explained it clearly engough. Please let me know if you are having the same trouble or if you know of a solution. I'm using the latest bootcamp drivers.
    I have Macbook Pro 13in 2.53GHz, 9400m, 4GIG RAM, mid 2009 unibody model.

This problem is not a problem with Windows or Apple. It has to do with when the updates are applied to Windows boot camp. The way to fix this is as follows. First click on the bluetooth icon from the Windows start page. Then click show bluetooth items. From this window click add a new device. When the device appears double click on the icon for the device. A window should appear that at the top says general and other. Click on the other tab and another window comes up with a small box in it. Check the box and Windows will search and install the exact, correct drivers for the device. Now the device will pair and work fine.
