SLCM Audit WebDynPro

Hi,
I noticed in Appendix B to the Audit Handbook that an audit viewer WebDynPro, available in EhP3, was showcased. Is this something that is going to remain available as a display-only application, or are there plans to develop this into a fully functional audit application? Can anyone (Michael) speak to whether there are plans to phase out development on the PIQ_AUDIT BSP application in favor of a WebDynPro in the future?

Eric,
Certainly we hope to turn the WD application PIQ_AUDIT_EXECUTE into a full-featured audit execution user interface (with subsitutitions, etc.), but I have no specific timeline for that yet.  As you know, WD offers many advantages over BSP.

    I have been exploring the idea of associating requirements catalogs with programs of study. Generally speaking, it seems to be quite elegant and natural with regards to SLCM's audit capabilities.
    However, in our existing paper-based process, the structure of our undergraduate programs is somewhat messy in the sense that undergraduates can have different yearly versions of the catalogs for each major or minor that they sign, plus another different yearly version of the catalog for their overall degree and general education requirements.
    Furthermore, in our undergraduate programs catalog, programs of study are named after the various degree programs (B.S., B.A., etc...), and majors and minors (academic specializations) in those degree programs are attached as module groups to their corresponding programs of study. So, unlike some universities, we do not have distinct programs of study for each major (like B.S. in Computer Science, B.S. in Physics, B.A. in Philosophy, etc...).
    This seems to imply that we need to derive requirements catalogs from the academic specializations associated with a student's study object (CS - 516 - CG), and not just the program of study (CS - 514 - SC) associated with that study object. If we are to emulate the existing paper process to any reasonable extent, then it seems that we would also need to generate requirements profiles from multiple requirements catalogs (derived as stated above), and I am still not quite sure whether the SLCM audit system was designed to accommodate this.
    Any thoughts on whether we should be considering a restructure of our undergraduate format (a potential bureaucratic nightmare), or whether SAP can be made to work well with the notion of more than one requirements catalog (or more than one version of a requirements catalog) contributing to a requirements profile?

    I am somewhat concerned that we may be talking about two different things, or that you are saying something deeper than I realize. So, let me give you some more detail about what I am trying to do, and what I have tried so far.
    I understand what you told me earlier about being able to merge multiple catalogs into a requirements profile at various nodes in a requirements pattern. This works for me. As an example, I have a test student, who has a SC, "Bachelor of Science, Plan B1" and an academic specialization, "Broadcast & Cinematic Arts". The SC and the CG have different catalogs, and I have a requirements pattern that looks like:

    I have attached the SC catalog to the student as a main catalog, and the CG catalog as an additional catalog. Everything works fine. The SC catalog is used for the "Degree Program" requirement and the CG catalog is used for the "Major" requirement.
    So far, so good. Now, I add a second major, "Computer Technology", to the student. This major has its own catalog, which is different than the "Broadcast & Cinematic Arts" catalog. Now after I build the requirements profile, HRIQ_RFC_AUDPROFILE_GET basically shows me the following when displaying ET_SUBREQUIREMENTS:

    In the above, I note that there is no "Test-Major-BCA", probably because there is no way to disambiguate it from "Test-Major-COMPTEC" - at least no way with the above requirement pattern.
    After seeing that, I considered the possibility of making the catalogs for the majors be the main catalogs, and making the program of study catalog be the additional catalog. I still may end up adopting this strategy. However, this is somewhat undesirable since it is more like performing major/minor audits rather than a degree audit. I think it might be confusing to the users.
    Today, I tried what you suggested in your most recent reply, and added the following to my requirement pattern:
    ReqPattern  Item  RefItem  Requirement
    =============================
    Test1         4       1           Major
    However, this only made the problem worse, because now I get the subrequirements for both "Broadcast & Cinematic Arts" and "Computer Tech" under both nodes 3 and 4. I tried using both an evaluation path (CS - A516 - CG) and requirement selection, "SCG0", and they both produced the double result.
    So, I am guessing that by "appropriate selections", you mean that we would have to custom develop ones that would be smart enough to only assign the set of subrequirement rules from one academic specialization (instead of all of them) to a particular specialization node in the pattern. Is this correct, or am I misunderstanding your suggestion?

  • BSP View: URGENT

    I can see the Audit running when i test view default.do Main Controller. For other views like Start.htm which says different views for all modes i am not able to see the Page ..It just says Loading.... and stays there.
    Can u suggest sth,
    I am able to run the audit PIQAUDMP_CP for Mass but I want to show thatin BSP application PIQ audit. Where my requirtements should be either green or red.
    Its very important as we have some POC lined up.

    I'm not sure what the exact problem is here, but here are some things to try:
    1) Check in the IMG that you have some BSP Views defined.  SLCM --> Processes in SLCM --> Audits --> Adjustment of User Interfaces --> Set Up views of BSP Applications.  Here, you should have some views, such as EV01, EV02, etc.
    2)  If that is OK, then try launching your BSP from a Favorite in the main menu.
    - BSP Application: PIQ_AUDIT
    - Start Page: default.do
    - Parameter AUDITTYPE: 1000
    - Parameter VIEW: EV01

  • Weird behavior in assigning requirement pattern (audit graduation)

    Hello,
    I have the following setup:
    On the SC i have filled infotype "Requirement Catalogs (1778)" with a Requirement Catalogs and Requirement Catalogs for audit type 1000. I've also marked it as a "Main catalog".
    Requirement Catalogs: VAHO
    Version: 2.0
    Now in the IMG i have the following setting:
    Student Lifecycle Management -> Processes in Student Lifecycle Management -> Audits -> Requirement Catalogs -> Define Structure of Version Sets
    Set          Version       Default version
    Audit       1.0              X
    Audit       2.0
    When i exicute the Audit via PIQAUD_MP_CP it is giving me an error:
    No requirement pattern is assigned to requirement catalog VAHO, version 1.0, and audit type 1000.
    When I change the default version to 2.0 it is working correctly.
    This seems stange to me because on the SC I have said that the version 2.0 must be used.
    Am I missing something, did i missunderstood something or is it just a little bug in SLcM?

    Hello Molenaar,
    You are Specifying that the requirements defined in version u2018audit 1u2019 as your current requirements of your university by setting u2018 audit 1u2019 as the default version, where as you are trying to evaluate the requirements in u2018audit 2u2019 which are not your current requirements though you have specified them in your program of study. If your current requirements are in version u2018audit 2u2019, then set u2018audit 2 u2018as the default version.
    Remember default version is always the basis for evaluating the requirements.

  • Currency audit of documents in Portal

    I would like to audit the currency of the documents being published on my Oracle Portal intranet. Meaning, I'd like to run a select statement agains the iasdb database which returns information on Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Project and PDF files which have not been updated in the last 30 days. Any advice on how much information can be retrieved on these documents and from where, would be appreciated. My organisation has a policy that only current documents be published on the Intranet and I need to be able to identify documents which are not being updated. Thanks.

    My question is: Is it possible to store the documents in WAS itself by creating a folder and access it?
    Yes, go the below path in server (WAS, if its Windows):
    drive:
    usr\sap\SID\JCXX\j2ee\cluster\server0\temp\webdynpro\web\<create_your_folder>
    Here you have an option to read/write the documents (any type) under your_own_folder. You've TWO advantages placing the files here:
    1. you can access using the shared path when coding in java or use the drive path directly
    2. you can access this location using portal url: http://<hostname>:<port>/webdynpro/resources/<your_own_folder>/*.FILE_EXT
    this is useful when using images specially!!
    And imp'ly is to check with your Basis admin, about this file_system and the projected size of the folder(s) and get approval. B'coz it helps them in size plannings.

  • Degree audit cookbook and best practise

    At Freie Universität Berlin we started implementing SLCM degree audit for the graduation processes of our study programs and face now the challenge to educate our administrators in usage of the tools to define the appropriate requirement catalogs. We are using Version 6.0 of CM.
    Since degree audit is a complex process to be customized and enhanced by BADI implementations and objects (rule containers containing requirements) we asked SAP for documentation usable for training administrators with erperienced SAP-CM-knowlegde in other areas.
    It seems that such a documentation does not exist yet, neither in help.sap.com nor in the SND-marketplace, so we are now to ask the highered-BPX-Forum.
    We search for general documentation and how-to-Documents (cookbooks) about:
    - setting up requirement patterns, requirement catalogs (and versions of them), selectors, filters, figures and performance indices to model the requirements of a given program and anchoring them to the academic structure;
    - If there exists a graphic of a "database scheme" which illustrates the dependencies of the objects used in degree audit this would also be helpful.
    Can anyone point us to such documentation?
    We would also like to be pointed to/share knowledge about:
    - best practices in the pragmatics how to compile study regulations into requirement catalogs using the given objects, BADIs and SPRO yielding both: accuracy and maintainability;
    - How-tos about enabling enterprise services assignable to business roles or automatic procedures and composable to an example process including
       - the assignment of requirement catalogs to student's study;
       - the creation of requirement profiles for candidates;
       - starting and saving audit runs;
       - propagating their results to internal qualifications;
       - completing degree.

    As of this writing, I was only able to successfully retrieve the files with IE. Firefox 2 is being given empty files.

  • Entrance Test Scenario Capturing on SLCM

    Dear SLCM Gurus,
    I have a scenario which need to be configured in SLCM.
    Student applies thru Enterprise portal for applying for Entrance Examination for a body u2018AIEEEu2019 .
    When the student applies he also submits his transcript for 12th(High School) Marks. Say 50% is the eligibility for taking the Entrance Exam.
    Once the eligibility check is done , student is registered for the exam.
    Student takes the exam .
    Evaluation is done.
    Based on entrance evaluation and 12th transcripts, the student applies to different colleges that one can apply thru AIEEE. (When the student is applying for the AIEEE exam, he should be able to see all colleges thru AIEEE in the portal). Please note that these colleges are under different Universities. College does the requirement audit and he/she becomes registered student of the college
    I have a few questions on the above:
    Is this scenarios is possible on SLCM or not?
    Does SLCM have the capability to capture huge student database and conduct exam on various locations across nations with various examiners? And finally if possible then how to it?

    Vinod,
        If i am right you are trying to implement SLCM at entrance exam body(AIEEE). They will use this just for Entrance exam. If that is the case you can handle it in SLCM.
      If you want entrance exam body to handle everything(booking,registration etc). You have to do little bit of development work.
    How you can do It. It is not easy to explain here. But it will be interesting and challenging project.

  • Button "change" disappers in BSP degree audit

    Hi,
    I find the following strange behaviour in BSP degree audit, when I want to change an existing but not released degree audit run.
    1. When I select the student in the BSP application and list the audit runs for a study program, the application shows correctly five buttons: "create", "change", "display", "delete" and "cancel". Four of them are greyed correctly, as no audit run is selected yet.
    When I now select an audit run, the buttons "change", "display" and "delete" disappear, so I can not change or delete the audit run anymore. To me, this behaviour seems not to be correct.
    2. When I create a new audit run in this situation, no "save"-button appears. This also seems not to be correct.
    Can anybody reproduce this behaviour as well? Is this a bug?

    Unfortunately this comes not out-of-the-box. Remember you are in a web browser and not in SAPGUI. If you need it you can do one of two things:
    1. develop such a tool by yourself
    2. check out the possibilities WebDynpro for ABAP offers you (available as of SAP NetWeaver 7.0).

    I developed MSS form using Webdynpro Java and want to add the submit (not for actual update)  as well as approvel / rejection process.
    what is standard process is to route the PCR Notifications through the HR Administrator who will then process them in the backend, to facilitate any audits & validations before actual update.
    so where to store the data , before actual update? we i need to use xml ? how to get the notification no in this case ?
    is the are way to store data directly in r3. and get those data from iqs_special_data_get, if it is good practice.
    what is solution of my requirement, please guide me.

       To study  the standard MSS PCR process , please study the development guide for PCR available at SAP
    Service marketplace .
                       Standard MSS PCR forms are designed at SFP in ABAP  and are processed through BADI QISR1.
    for PCR workflows refer -
    WS31000009 ISR_CONTROL
    WS31000010 ISR_APPROVE
    WS31000011 ISR_PROC
    I would suggest to study the standard process first before doing any customizing .

  • MDM webdynpro components.

    Hi,
    Iam using the MDM webdynpro components. I have created a MDM destination which has authentication as "No Authentication", then the repository and server name.
    I have added the IP address of the CE portal in the allow.ip file.
    But when i create a project under the MDM  WD CONFIGURATOR and try to use the destination i get an error
    Cannot retrieve language list from repository [null] on server [null]. UserConnectionException: Can not trust user session '<server=XYZ serverUser=Admin repository=ABC region=English [US] user=MNN>',  com.sap.mdm.internal.protocol.manual.ServerException: User not found
    The user MNN is there on MDM and JAVA Web AS
    Can someone pls help

    I am getting below error while creating new WDC project.
    Cannot retrieve language list from repository [null] on server [null]. UserConnectionException: Can not connect with UserSessionContext to repository <repository_name>on the server <server_name>.,  Can not connect with UserSessionContext to repository <repostiory_name>on the server <server_name>.,  Problem while creating session context for 'UserSession' from MDM destination 'null',  Can not resolve JCA connection,  Could not create a trusted connection to MDM server "<server_name>"for user ''<user_name>. Server is not defined as trusted,  The connection is not trusted (0xffaa0225)
    And in MDM logs I am getting below error message.

    I have a program in R/3 that is based on a logical database. I don't want to have to write the program all over again in Webdynpro.
    Is there a way to use the logical database in Webdynpro for ABAP.

    Basically WDA calls a FM and then the following help is a good starting point:

    I am facing the same problem with ESS payslip (smartform/Hrform): my customer wants to have custom file name for download salery statements from the portal. Do you know how to change the default form name unknown.pdf to e.g.. "payslip_month_year"?
    I spent a lot of time to find any possibility to get and change the file name but without success till now.

  • Debugging is not working in R/3 from WebDynpro-ABAP developed webpage input

    Dear Friends,
    We are facing a serious problem for debugging. Expecting valuable input for the same.
    Debugging is not working in R/3 from WebDynpro-ABAP developed webpage input in Production Server.
    The debugging (for WebDynpro-ABAP application) is working in Dev. Server for
    1st ] Within R/3
    Ex. debug for bapi within R/3. i.e. value enter as input in R/3 only.
    2nd ] From webpage to R/3
    Ex. Some input given on the internet web page developed through WebDynpro and external breakpoint set in R/3 it works. It directs to R/3 code through debugging.
    In Prod. Server the 1st case above is working but the 2nd case is not working.
    In Prod. Server the WebDynpro developed applications are running successfully through internet explorer webpage inputs. So running the application is not a problem in prod. Server but debugging of the same is the problem.
    The setting which are done in Prod. server are,
    1] RZ10 in parameters are set for port and host name.
    2.1] In SMICM check for ICM.
    2.2] Host file updated in Windows-System 32.
    3] In SICF following services are active,
    3.1] default_host/sap/bc/webdynpro
    3.2] default_host/sap/public/bc
    3.3] default_host/sap/public/bc/webdynpro/viewdesigner
    3.4] default_host/sap/bc/wdvd
    3.5] default_host/sap/public/icman
    3.6] default_host/sap/bc/gui/sap/its/webgui
    3.7] default_host/sap/public/ping
    3.8] default_host/sap/bc/error
    3.9] default_host/sap/bc/echo
    4] In SE80
    4.1] Internet services-System-are published
    4.2] Internet services-WEBGUI-are published
    4.3] Utilities-Setting-ABAP Editor-Debugging-Username & New Debugger set.
    4.4] Utilities-Setting-ABAP Editor-Editor-Front-End Editor(New) set.
    5] In Su01 for user profiles sap_all & sap_new is assigned and role  SAP_BC_WEBSERVICE_DEBUGGER is assigned.
    6] The support packages are also updated to latest level.

    I am running mini SAP trial version 2004 with Internet explorer 7.0 and also installed gui patch 23.
    I am making a sample application in SE80 and when double clicking on a view in Abap Webdynpro component I get following error:

  • Hiding a subview called in a main view in WEBDYNPRO Application

    Hello Experts,
    I have a scenario in which i am calling a subview inside a main view. I have created a main view in which:-
    1. List of reportee to the manager logged in is getting displayed in the form of a table.
    2. When we select any row of this table ( means selection of any reportee row) and click on a button 'Get Details', then it  should display the detailed personal data of that reportee.
    I have successfully called an already created personal data view inside this main view to display the detailed personal data of any selected reportee. But the issue is in the main view:-
    1. This view has table containing the list of reportee getting displayed.
    2. This view simultaneously also displays the default first row detailed data of the table of reportee.
    Our requirement is:-
    1. To display only table containing the list of reportee in the first load of main view.
    2. Then when any row of this table is selected, then only the detailed data specific to that row should be displayed.
    My approach till now is:-
    1. I have removed the default first row lead selection for the table of reportee.
    2. I have created a node VISIBILITY_DET_DATA and then an attribute IS_VISI BLE under that node of type WDUI_VISIBILITY.
    3. In the layout section i have created a group GROUP_DETAIL_DATA and a view container UI element under that to call the detailed data view when any row of table containing the list of reportee is selected.
    4. I have created a binding for the VISIBLE  property of the group GROUP_DETAIL_DATA to the attribute IS_VISI BLE created in the context of the component contoller.
    5. I have then used the method WDDOINIT of the main view to write code to hide the detailed data view by setting the IS_VISIBLE flag to '02' i.e. NONE.
    But this is causing the entire view to be coming as blank view.
    I am not sure why this is happening, Can any of you suggest if i am missing anything important which is cauing this analomy.

    This is a Webdynpro related question. you would have got many repsonses if you posted in webdynpro forum.
    i) I would want to know how to hide Image object or the transparent container which holds the IMAGE object, dynamically through the code inside the MODIFYVIEW method of the view
    You can do a post_exit enhancement in the  MODIFYVIEW method. Get the UI element object  from view and There are methods to set the visibility at runtime.
    Is there an option to dynamically specify diffent image based on the login language with the IMage container?
    i think yes, same procedure as first question's answer. Based on condition you can change the source path of the mime object .
