SLD Datasupplier - Technical System Sychronization

I understand that SLD 7.0 and 7.1 employ "automatic forwarding" that updates all data supplier targets with new system information.  But, is there a nightly synchronization job between the master and slave SLDs that synchronizes technical systems between master and slave?
In our scenario, we supplied the wrong SLD user in the slave SLD which we assume is the reason why technical system synchronization from Master to Slave did not occur.  Now, we need this information in the slave SLD but are unsure if a synch job will run nightly, daily, weekly, etc.

Hi
In 7.0 you can either use export/import to sync the content - if you use export line "LD" only the technical system data will be exported/imported, but you can also use export line ALL to export/import all SLD content (Content Repository, Landscape data, Namespaces and manuel entered data).
However the "automatic forwarding" will eventually update your target with ALL systems that functions as SLD datasuppliers, but yo have to wait until all data-suppliers has run.

  • SLD Configuration - Technical System and Business System

    Hello,
I have installed SAP Solution Manager with local SLD and i want to use this system as Central SLD for my System Landscape. Later on i have installed other SAP Products like ECC,BI,PI etc.
Some of the systems i registered with previously defined SLD in Solution Manager, but some system i forgot to register with SLD during installation.
I am not sure or aware what is the difference between SLD configuration during installation and after installation.
If i have Register the System during installation will it register automatically with SLD or we have to do manually.
If i have not register system during installation and later on i want to register particular system with SLD what is procedure for that.
Can some one share knowledge on What is Technical Systems and Business System in SLD Configuration, i tried to do some activity for SLD Configuration but after seeing above both terms i was confused so for time being i stopped this activity.
    Looking forward for kind response.

  • SLD: Duplicate Technical System after Installation Number change

We changed the installation number for a system. After this, inside SLD there are 2 entries for this system, with 2 different installation number (new and old). What is the correct procedure to remove   one of the entry (old one).
    Please advise.
A proper SAP note would be appreciated.
    Thanks

Its ok even if you have forgotten to register to the SLD during installation. We can regaister after installation.Since SLD runs on java engine then if you go to http://<ipaddress or hostname of the server>:5<instancenumber>00/sld
If you go into that you can click on administration button and follow the instructions as in the link.

Difference between technical systems and business systems is that business systems are used in PI/XI.Whereas technical systems are nothing but your ECC , CRM etc.You have to use business systems only when there is a case for connecting to XI/PI.Hope i have answered your quesries if not please let me know.

  • SLD Setup - Technical System

    Hi All,
I need to send/receive data from the third party using SOAP adapter. in our environmnet we follow the SLD setups for third party.
Hence I would like to know what setup needs to be done in the SLD for this.
I think I do not need to create new product and software component.
Specifically when I am trying to create a new technical system the  its asking for the system name and host name.
I beleive system name I can give anything . What about the host name ?
Is it the host name of the third party system??
Could some one explain me detail?
    Thanks

    H i
What about the host name ?
You can give the  IP address  or actual host name of the system  you are trying to connect. it cannot be any generic name.
As mentioned above  for soap based system , generally we use Business Service but  yes if you can get all the details you can set up TS for non -ABAP based systems also . Whatever the details the TS wizard asks you to give , you have to get those details from your SOAP system admin .

    Hi All,

  • Technical system not available in Integration tab of Busines System SLD

    Hi ,
I am  creating a Business System in SLD(on Solution Manager) for XI system but not able to see any technical system from Integration tab of Business system.
I have already created a technical system in SLD.
Please suggest  what other settings I need to check.
    Thanks
    Bhaskar

    Hi,
Clear the cache and try again.
    Go to Environment -
    > Click on Clear SLD data cache.
If you still din't get then In the SLD goto technical system, in the dropdown box select your Technical system type(web as Java/....) and cleck on display, if it is there then it was created other wise it wasn't created.

  • ** Is it possible to change the IP of the existing Technical System in SLD?

    Hi Friends,
I want to do RFC to RFC scenario. When I try to import the RFC from the Business System, RFC is not imported. When I looked the corresponding technical system in the SLD, it is having the old IP address. That's why I am not able to import. So, is it possible to change the IP of the existing technical system in the SLD ?
    Kindly reply.
    Kind Regards,
    Jegatheeswaran P

Reason being : We can associate n business syatems with one tech system with and we configure the scenarios via business systems which itself uses Tech system , if we will make changes in tech system later on it will affect the other scenarios also which are  using the same tech system

  • Error while exporting the 3rd party technical system in SLD

    Dear all,
We're currently using PI 7.0. When trying to export the technical system in SLD, after the exporting, the IE jumps to the download page automatically, but there's a exclamation mark with no text info. I've tried to create a new 3rd-party technical system and try to export, the same thing happened.
It happened in both our develop and our production PI system.
Also I've found following error info in SLD server log:

not sure if it has relevance, but the SLD level transports will do nothing but create a CIM file which should be downloaded to your deskktop.
    1. Make sure that there are no Pop Up BLocker's acting on the XI server on your machine.
    2. Make sure that you have the download authorizations on your machine.

  • Error while adding Poduct to Technical System in SLD

    Hallo all .
I am trying to add a product to a technical system and i get the following error .
    CIM_ERR_ALREADY_EXISTS: Instance already exists: SAP_InstalledProduct.CollectionID="39e669ae-4752-5274-31d1-d7d085055ac",ProductIdentifyingNumber="0",ProductName="********",ProductVendor="********",ProductVersion="1.0",SystemID="SRQ.SystemNumber.**********.SystemHome.*********"
I have deleted everything (Technical System, Business System, Product) and recreated them but the error persists .
I also rebooted the j2ee server and cleared the SLD and the CPA cache .
    Every help will be appreciated.

Thank you both but none of the above is the solution.
(we had checked the note allready too)
Currently I am following those instructions, but the problem is that although I delete the TS this is not shown as it should . Still I don't think that it is the TS that causes tha problem but the connection between the TS and the Product . ( My guess is that somewhere there should be a wrong database entry, connecting the TS with the Product. Of course I have no idea where to look for it)
    Cleaning Up Data
    Use
The data supplier programs report data about the systems in your landscape to the SLD. If a system no longer exists in your landscape, the data about the system remains in the SLD. You have to clean up the data manually in the SLD.
    Procedure
    1. Choose Administration u2192 Automatically Updated Data.
    2. Enter a date and optionally a time before which you want to display the systems that reported data to the SLD.
    3. Choose Display.
A list of systems is displayed along with the date on which they last reported data to the SLD.
If a particular date is too far in the past (see Scheduling the Data Collection Programs [Page 66]), this is a good indication that the system no longer exists in the system landscape. The SLD has no way of knowing this, so you must manually remove the system from the SLD.
    4. Select the system(s) you want to remove from the SLD.
Bear in mind that you remove not only the system but also all its associations to other systems, for example to business systems.
    5. If you want to remove the selected system(s) and all their instances, choose Remove.

when we go to create a new technical system type WEB AS ABAP, the system said 'system already exists'
it exist other technical system for this system of type third party,
don't is it possible have together?
    very thanks,

    Hi,
The problem is due to whatever technical system your are trying to create those details are  already contain another technical system name in SLD.  We can't create more then one technical system with same parameters.  Better to use existing technical system or delete existing one create new one.

    Hey,
Well  did you create the technical system  or was it created or used before>? Unless it was done you can't create  Business System for the specified technical system.

  • Error while importing technical systems in SLD

    Hi all,
I was importing technical systems from one SLD to another by Export-Import.
While importing the content i got an error 92 out of 93 objects successfully imported.

I have a problem with my new NW PI 7.01 System. I have installed it some days ago and it was running until yesterday.
I created two technical and business systems. But now they are away. In the SLD I cant find them anymore. I wanted to create some new technical systems but I can´t end the process. In the last  step I have to enter what product and versions are installed one the server but there is nothing what I can choose. The list is empty!
As is sad yesterday it was running an I did nothing special what triggerd this problem
Can anybody tell me what the problem is?
    Thanks

  • How to create Technical System in SLD configuration?

    Howdy!
Our R/3 system has not packed with proper plugin so I can not use T-code rz70 to transfer system info from R/3 to SLD.
I try to create a technical system manually in SLD web UI.But in the last step of creation(ABAP based system),after I had choose the "installed product",which is SAP R/3 4.6c,"installed software component" didn't show on the right side panel as expected.
Anybody can tell me how to slove this?
    Thanks indeed...

There are a few notes on http://service.sap.com/notes that may help you with this!  Try note number 584654.
    What version is you kernel?
I think it needs to be at least 6.30.
J2EE Engine >= 6.30 on Windows and Unix platforms
    Web AS >=6.40 SP4
