SLD  export

Hi there,
We are building a parallel landscape  for PI and would like to have an exact copy of our existing Dev system with a different SID.
The method we are using is fresh installation with export/import  of content from source to target. I need some guidance on the approach .
1) I  have taken the export of the sld data from administration-> data.  when importing in the target system, do I need to install the CR and CIM content before hand to the same level or will this export taken in source suffice.

Hi,
Hi,
Can you please refer to the documentation on the SAP
Community Network System Landscape Directory (SLD)
e.g. Planning Guide
     User Manual (NW 7.1)
     and others
The following SAP Notes may also be of interest for this issue:
Splitting an SLD instance 936318,
935245,
669669
Provided that you indeed do not yet have any important data in the
target namespace, you can clear the target namespace under
"Administration" - "Namespace". Select the namespace and delete
it. Namespace sld/active will be recreated automatically. You'll only
need to reimport the model as required.
2) Target SLD
- Change object server name from "localhost" to a unique name as per note 935245,
- delete and recreate namespace sld/active
- check the profile parameters
- import latest model (same as in source SLD)
- import backup from source SLD.

  • SLD Export / import Technical and Business systems

    Dear all,
I am new to SLD administration.
We have task to update the local SLD on the Production PI system PPI ( Target ) with the business systems ZEC, ZSC from the Production Master SLD on Production solution manager system
PSM ( source ) using Export/Import on the necessary technical and business systems.
Please confirm whether i am following correct steps :
Go to SLD Administration on PPI target system
    ALL Instances
    Instances by Class
    Model
( which one of this option need to be selected , please let me know  ?? )
Go to SLD Administration on PSM source system.
    select Export button ->
Select business systems one by one and perform Export which will create .ZIP file
    at local machine.
Go to SLD Administration on PPI target system
    select Import button ->
Select Export ZIP file which created in previous steps from PSM and provide location from desktop
Start Import button ( only if you get Continue import option )
Please let me know if above procedure is correct for business systems
if yes then  what need to be done for Technical system ??...do they require Export/import also ?
If yes when i go to technical system option i get Export option disabled...but same way when i go to
business systems option i get Export button enable and able to perform the export.
Do i need to only Export / Import business systems ?
    Plese help me.
    Regards,
    RR

    Manoj,
It seems entries are added manually .... should we remove and run Import for the same ...
or just try to overwrite .... in case of overwrite option ( as we have open OSS message ) SAP has suggested through OSS message that If you end up with problems when trying to overwrite, then the PPI SLD is broken and will have to be re-built because someone made a manual change to it and got the GUIDs out of synch with the master.
I do not understand if target system PPI SLD gets broken during overwriting operation as mentioned by SAP ... whats is the way / steps / procedure to Re-build SLD .
In rebuilt - process do i need to Import ( Export -> Export lines -> ALL ) the export backup created before start of this activity ? please let me know SLD rebuilt steps and about Remove - reimport issue.
Appreciate you time on this. thanks in advance.

  • SLD - Export Business System: 404 Not found while downloading ZIP-File

Hi, well we did a complete export of SLD to another XI-System. This worked fine so far except that one business System was not properly "installed" in SLD.
Therefore we want to export this single business system via option "Export" but we receive an 404 Error: The requested resource does not exist. when trying to download the given zip-file!
I read in OSS that this error occurs in XI-systems with SP <12 and SAP suggest to upgrade to 12
Well that's not an appropriate solution!
Does somebody can help how we can download this zip-file with the business system in it?!
Or is there some workaround i am not familiar with?!
    Thx in advance!

    Ok Prateek,
we had two same Technical Systems with two differnet hosts given in the SLD of DEV & PROD System.
After decision to devide both systems, means to seperate SLDs we copied the whole SLD from DEV to PROD. So there were some conflict with this two technical systems because during import of CIM-Data the business systems got switched up.
Therefore we thought we have to export the business system given in DEV SLD to import this business system in PROD SLD. But the workaround is that we simply assign the wrong imported business system to the right technical system (in PROD SLD)
    That's it! br

  • SLD Export, how many elements?

I'm doing an incremental export from an SLD on a 6.40 system.
The status is "Exporting: Performing incremental export: xxxxxxxx"
It's been running for about 6 hours, and is up to 700k+ elements.
How can i see how many elements there are in total or left to go?
I though it would be possible to add the objects from within in the "data" section in the details header.
But adding the objects for sld/active and sld/restored namespace has already been passed a few hundred k's ago.
You do not need to post any notes refering to how the SLD works etc, since I've been looking into this and the help and this information cannot be found in the "normal" SLD documentation.
    Best regards
    Tomas

    Hello Federica,
how did you manage to use oracle.sql.ARRAY[]?
When i try to create a deployment for a method using this as parameter, i get the error:
"Parameter #1 is of type oracle.sql.ARRAY, which does not map to any PL/SQL data type".
    Thank you for your help!

  • Download file fails with 404 error  in SLD export of business system

    Hi all,
We just upgraded to 2004s, and when I try to export BS to a file, I get a 404 resource does not exist error. I wanted to find out which service needs to be activated in either the J2EE stack or the abap stack to allow the download.
    thanks,
    chris

    Hi,
    1) Did you maintain Client, userid, password, and lang information in SICF transaction -> sap/xi/engine ? Double click on service and check whether you have entered correct information.
2)Access the trace file and search for traces with severity ERROR, WARNING or stack traces.
If we do not find an error in the log file or the error message does not explain the problem sufficiently, access the default Trace. The default trace file contains detailed messages for developers. Extract the relevant trace information e.g. using the time stamp or the message ID.
If this does not explain the problem in more detail, increase the trace level and reproduce the problem. Then restart message processing using the message display tool. Mark the message and select repeat.
    3)Check the Note-803145
    4) 404 is an HTTP response code that indicates that the resource in question could not be found. Usually this is due to an incorrect URL check all URLs.
5)The SOAP message that sent might not have an envelope.

  • Adding additional sld

    Hello,
we have 1 sld  - configured on the portal dev -
i would like to add additional sld - configure it on the portal production - all the production systems will be added to this sld, and all the qa and dev systems will remain on the sld opn the portal dev
what are the specific pahses in adding additional sld , updating it if neccasary, and moving the relevent systems
    Regards,
    Moshe

    Hi
The task could be done like this:
    1) Activate the SLD in the EP prod and configure post-processing accord. to SLD guide
    2) Ensure that the DEV-SLD and new PRD-SLD has the same CIM model version and SAP_CR version
    3) Export the content from DEV-SLD (export line ALL)
    4) Import this export into PRD-SLD
    5) Configure all production systems "SLD data provider" to send technical data to PRD-SLD
    6) Configure all production systems "SLD client role" to work with PRD-SLD
...now the DEV-SLD will only get technical data from the non-productions systems. If you want both SLD's to have a full view of alle systems then ALL systems could use PRD-SLD as target for their data suppliers and a sync from PRD-SLD to DEV-SLD can be set up... You maybe also need to supplement this strategy with manuel export/import of SLD content.

  • SAP third party Pre-delivered SLD Content - Product and SWCVs

    Hi All,
I have started this thread on LinkedIn and I wanted it to be viewed by all of you for your valuable suggestions and thus from SAP too... The thread is [here|http://www.linkedin.com/groupAnswers? viewQuestionAndAnswers=&discussionID=20482912&gid=81282&commentID=16700717&trk=view_disc ]

Here is the thread content until now -
    Hi All,
I have been working on integration of our product with SAP. We wanted our SLD objects for the product and the swcs to be delivered as part of SAP's pre-delivered SLD content, so that the client could simply import our design objects in to their PI landscape (Similar to how SAP provides PI content on service market place. We do have partnership with SAP and this product integration was not yet certified by SAP. However, they SAP agreed to supply our product and SWCs as part of the standard SAP CIM modal content).
How ever, even when we gave our SLD export to SAP, when the latest CIM modal for SLD from SAP got released, we were surprised to see that, our product and SWCvs are created with the vendor name "sap.com". This absolutely makes our product and swcvs unusable as we would not be able to look at them in the SPROXY on application systems. This was the same case with an older client that I worked with too..!! Any one had similar experience with this? Shouldn't SAP
be creating them with vendor as "<vendor>.com"? At least, our product is not owned by SAP..!!
We all know that, if sap.com is the vendor for SLD objects, only SAP could provide the proxy implementations through an SAP support pack.
Could someone from SAP PI Techies understand my point and care to respond?

  • Transport from one System to another

    Hello,
I want to transport from one XI-System to another XI-System. I tried to make a import from the SLD but that doesn´t work, why? When i make a file transport and make changes of the transported Software-Component will there be the changes of the original Objekts in the sld?
    Thanks in advance,

    Hi all,
In the case when we have multiple SLD's for Dev/QA/Prod ..There has been a case of manual business system creation in QA for some scenarios. Now I need to move a new scenario into QA and I would like to do an SLD export from Dev to QA..
1.Will this overwrite the existing business systems in QA?I have re-created the QA business sytems  in DEV with a QA target..
    2. I am taking a Backup of QA SLD before doing this.
    Any advise..

  • XI - Transport of ID via CMS / Business System Replacement

    Dear Experts,
We have installed SAP XI, and we now have our QA environment installed. We are transporting our objects from DEV to QA through CMS.
In the SLD, we have defined 2 business systems : SAP_R3_DEV and SAP_R3_QA. Each of this system is assigned to a group (DEV_GRP and QA_GRP). We have added dependencies in the "Transport" section of the business systems (i.e. SAP_R3_DEV becomes SAP_R3_QA when transporting).
So, everything seems to be configured.
Now, we are transporting objects from the Integration Directory using CMS / Transport Studio. My understanding was that occurences of "SAP_R3_DEV" should be replaced by "SAP_R3_QA", but this is not working.
    <b>Where am I wrong ?</b>
    <i>Our configuration :
    XI 3.0 - Netweaver 2004s SP10
We have 3 different SLDs (DEV, QA and PRD)
    </i>
Your help would be greatly appreciated !
    Regards,

    Here are more details...
We have multiple SLDs : One for DEV, one for QA and one for PROD environments.
We do all the configuration in the DEV SLD, and then use Export / Import functionality to replicate data in QA / PROD environments. We did also a full SLD Export / Import in case something was missing.
In many forums / blogs, it's indicated we should go in SLD, under "Business Landscape" on the first screen, and under the Business System we can find the "Transport Target" field.
In our version of XI, which is 2004s SP10, we must go in SLD, under "Business Systems" on the first screen, and under the Business System we have a "Transport" tab in which we must indicate both a "Target Group" and a "Target System".
We have created an XI_DEV group and assigned business systems SAP_R3_DEV and SAP_XI_DEV
    to it.
We have also created an XI_QA group and assigned business systems SAP_R3_QA and SAP_XI_QA to it.
In the "Transport" tab, we have configured XI_QA / SAP_R3_QA as the transport target for SAP_R3_DEV.
In the Integration Repository, we do our configuration using Business System SAP_R3_DEV.
When transporting, we tried both CMS and Export/Import methods. However, when importing in XI QA, we still see SAP_R3_DEV instead of SAP_R3_QA...
    I hope this clarifies )
Thanks a lot for your time !

  • XI Objects transport..

    Hello All,
I am trying to transport my XI Objects from one system to other. I have few questions reagrding this process.
I have Design Objects and Configuration Objects export TPZs with me. Also, the SLD export of Component (Product and Software component version) data.
I am not asking how to import them. Rather I would like to know what is the minimum work I have to do.
i am sure that In configuration I have to do some manual stuff for Business Systems because my end environment is having different Businees Systems. Is there any way that I can get rid of manual work for configuring my all scenarios. Or I have to add the Businees systems for all scenarios.
Though I import my scenarios from Integration repository, Still I have edit Business Systems in Repository for Inegration scenrios.
Anybody let me know is there any standard process for XI tranport. So that I can reduce manual work ( reduce errors )
How the version management happen for XI. At least, is mappings are version enabled since they are programs.
    Thanks,
    Srinivas K

    Hi,
U do not need to manually change the Business system name after transport but there is a process for this.
For example: IN Dev system u have BS with name Test_Dev and in QA system u need to use the Test_Qa then in this case u need to do the configuration in Dev system and when u transport the Bs from Dev to Qa it will automaticallt change from Test_Dev to test_Qa.
    Follow the below steps:
Once you have created SLD in Dev below transport mechanism is used for transporting the obj from DEV to QA and PROD:
    Transport mechanism
    1. Create Technical System and Business Systems for the QA system.
    2. Create Transport Groups in the Business System.
    3. Create Transport Targets in the Source Business SYstem.
    Check the link for:
Configuring Transport Groups and Tranport Targets
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/ef/a21e3e0987760be10000000a114084/content.htm
Your SWCV can be exported and imported using TPZ files into the IR.
The ID also use TPZ files and as the objects are imported, the business system details will be filled up .
Refer How to handle SLD guide for help:
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/9e76e511-0d01-0010-5c9d-9f768d644808.
When u transport the ID u need to change the channel parameter manually u can not avoid it u have to change it manually.
    Thnx
    Chirag.

  • How to import all the configuration for the developed adapter

After developed the adapter, there are many steps remains to deploy and use in the XI server.
1)Creating a New Product and Software Component Version in SLD
2)Define the Technical and Business Systems in the SLD
3)Define Business scenarios, design Data types and Message Interfaces and etc in Repository
4)Configuring the Scenario in the Integration Directory
The four steps above are a little complex, I know there are ways to export and import these object seperately, but how could I export all these objects and configurations in these four steps into one package as a whole and import it as a whole too without import one by one?

    Hello Mints
Wow - sounds like you've attacked XI from the big end, developing an adapter before doing any XI development!
There is no way to bundle all these things into a single "package", they all have their own mechanisms:
    1) Products and Software Component Versions can be exported from the SLD into a zip file which can then be imported into another SLD at your own or a customer site.
    2) Technical and Business Systems are specific to an installation or site, so they are never "packaged". They can, however, be "transported" using the SLDs export/import mechanism if you are running a multi-SLD setup within your landscape.
    3) Repository objects <i>are</i> meant to be packaged. Use the export functionality in the Integration Builder to create a .tpz file on the XI server that can be moved to another XI repository and imported. Exports can be done at the Software Component Version level (usual for packaging and distribution), the namespace level or for individual objects.
    4) Configuration is a per-site activity (see point 2). You might, however, include a Communication Channel Template in your Repository export to help customers configure your adapter.
5?) Don't forget that the adapter must also be deployed using SDM before it can be used!

    Thorsten

  • Error while exporting the 3rd party technical system in SLD

    Dear all,
We're currently using PI 7.0. When trying to export the technical system in SLD, after the exporting, the IE jumps to the download page automatically, but there's a exclamation mark with no text info. not sure if it has relevance, but the SLD level transports will do nothing but create a CIM file which should be downloaded to your deskktop.
    1. Make sure that there are no Pop Up BLocker's acting on the XI server on your machine.
    2. Make sure that you have the download authorizations on your machine.

  • Howto export and import SLD data to different SLD's

    Hi All,
I have a landcape with 4 SLD's. A central SLD within Solution Manager and 3 SLD's for resp. XI dev, qas, prd.
The central SLD is version 7.0 and the XI versions are 2.2. (model versions are the same, CR are different -> XI SAP_CR 2.18 -> Solman SAP_CR 2.0)
The idea is that all changes in Bussiness (including new products and software components) and Technical Systems take place in the Solution Manager. After a change we make an export and import it into XI dev, qas and so on.
    However....
When adding, for example, an exsisting product to a technical system, export it on Solman and import it into XI dev, all entries dissapear(sapms/host/clients).
We filled Solman with a full export of XI development and that worked fine.
Does anybody has an idea about actions to be taken?
    Thanks,
    Sjoerd Lubbers
