SLD for FILE TO FILE Scenario

Experts,
I have created one Technical system and two busines system for F2F scenario. Both the  BS are of third party.
Sender is  MDM (Master data management)
Receiver is BW (sap system)
I am right.Please suggest.
Thanks
Veeru

hi,
>>>For your F2F scenario, Create two TS of type third party and two BS for them because you have two different entities as your sender and receiver.
why should he create TS of type third party for BW for example?
if you can easily create TS from BW with TCODE RZ70 and
it will not be third party
+ the question was about BS and not TS I believe

  • FTPS or SFTP for file scenario. Suggstions

    Hi,
I have searched blog in sdn but do not get good blogs/links.
For File scenario which to use FTPS or SFTP.
How to do the configuration in XI and Visual admin.
    Full points will be awarded.

    Hi,
    1) SFTP (Secure File Transfer Protocol)
"SSH File Transfer Protocol" or SFTP is a network protocol that provides file transfer and manipulation functionality over any reliable data stream. It is typically used with the SSH-2 protocol to provide secure file transfer. SFTP encrypts the session, preventing the casual detection of username, password or anything that is being transmitted. One key benefit to SFTP is its ability to handle multiple secure file transfers over a single encrypted pipe. By using a single encrypted pipe, there are fewer holes in the corporate firewall.
    SFTP:
As per the latest SAP PI/XI support pack, it does not support SFTP via File Adapter.
So alternative approach to cater this requirement from XI is to make use of Unix Script at OS level to transfer the files from/to third-party systems.
    Inbound Interface - i.e. third-party system ->XI->SAP:
File is transferred to a folder in SAP XI landscape from the third-party legacy system using UNIX Script with secured protocol. Once the file is ready in the XI landscape, File Adapter will poll this directory and file is picked up by NFS protocol.
    Outbound Interface – i.e. SAP->XI->third-party system:
XI is responsible for writing a file into a folder in the XI landscape. These files are transferred to the third-party system by executing UNIX scripts with secured protocol i.e. via sFTP.
    Pre-Requisites:
Public key should be exchanged between external systems and the PI system.
UNIX shell script has to be developed and scheduled.
    Advantages:
    Highly Secured.
Ability to handle multiple secure file transfers over a single encrypted pipe .By using a single encrypted pipe, there are fewer holes in the corporate firewall.
    Disadvantages:
    Two-Step process i.e. XI>Temporary folder>External System and vice-versa
Files have to be temporarily stored in XI server.
Multiple failure points i.e. XI and Unix script execution
Maintenance of an external UNIX script.
Difficulty in monitoring the execution of the shell script as it cannot be monitored thru XI.
Need to generate keys and install it in the SFTP site as a pre-requisite i.e. SFTP clients must install keys on the server.
SFTP uses keys rather than certificates. This means that it can't take advantage of the "chains of trust" paradigm facilitated through Certificate Authorities.
Files from the XI server should be deleted/archived in a periodic manner to increase the disc space so that it will increase the performance.
Note: UNIX shell Script can be executed as a background job ‘or' can be triggered from SAP XI through OS command at File adapter level.
Secure FTP (SSH) with the FTP Adapter
Secured File Transfer using SAP XI
    Secure FTP in SAP XI
SFTP (FTP over SSH) in XI

  • Mapping error for file scenario.

    Hi ,
I am working with the help of this scenario to pick only selected files.
    /people/mickael.huchet/blog/2006/09/18/xipi-how-to-exclude-files-in-a-sender-file-adapter
I am getting error in mapping . Everything i have checked its correct . Mapping is correct . but still its giving error . how can i solve it .
    Error : RuntimeException in Message-Mapping transformatio~
    Thanks ,
    Syed.

    Dear Syed Kumar
Based on the blog you are executing the scenario I guess. The scenario is clearly focusing on the picking up the files using the mask attribute in File Access Parameters.
As you mentioned clearly, that you are getting mapping error plz concentrate on how to rectify the mapping errors.
    will guide to do so.
    1. Go to SXMB_MONI and in the integration server and check for the message you are trying send.( I hope you did this)
    2. As it is giving you mapping error, Double click onthe message Flag showing red.
3.Plz check the Payload XML content copy that content and paste in the message mapping Test section of IR.
    4. Execute the Test. If you get the message at the receiver side there shouldn't be any error.
If you still get the error let me know.
    Best of Luck

Do the Interface mapping test as well if you are successful in message mapping.

  • Business systems  for Soap to file scenario

    Hi Experts,
I am working on a soap to file scenario.Which type of business systems shall i  create i.e Third party,As ABAP,As Java etc. Please suggest.
    Thanks
    Veeru

    Hi,
Normally Business systems are created in SLD when you are provided with relevant system details. A business service is used in case of the system being an abstract unit.
In your case, it is better to go for Business service because you generally don't  have such details for third party system.
Just go through this link for more understanding...

  • Error in AE for File to File scenario

    Hello,
i created a scenario for file to file. My file is picking up, but when i see sxmb_moni, i am seeing below error. Is there anything to configure for AE.
<b>no_messaging_url_found: Unable to find URL for Adapter Engine</b>
    Please advice,
    Srinivas

    Hi,
Under SLD check if you have maintained  Pipeline URL for XI Bsuiness system. Under tab "Integration" you will find parameter "Pipeline URL" and shd have value something like "http://dev server:port /sap/xi/engine?type=entry...
If this entry is correct then try to refresh Adapter Cache using TC : SXI_CACHE..
MenuGoto>Adapter Engine cache ( Click on refresh button)..
    Hope this will help.

  • Which all configurations you need to do in R/3 for an Idoc to file scenario

which all configurations you need to do in R/3 for an Idoc to file scenario?
    Rgds
    Ruchitha

    Hi ruchitha thakur  ,
A Summary of the Steps to be carried out to enable a SAP R/3 System send Idocs to SAP Exchange Infrastructure.
First - Maintain the Sender R/3 System:
SM59 : Create a RFC destination to XI
WE21 : Create a TRFC Port ->Specify the RFC Destination Created
BD54 : Create a Logical System for the Idoc Receiver
WE20 : Create Partner Profile ->Maintain Outbound and the Inbound Parameters
Second - Log on to XI System:
SM59 : RFC Destination for Sender System
IDX1 : Create the port to get Idoc Metadata from Sender System ( The Port Name must match the port name in the idoc header - Usually in format SAP<System ID>. eg. SAPID1 [Optional Step. Not mandatory]
IDX2 : Maintain the Idoc Metadata. This is needed only by XI, and not by other SAP systems. IDX2 is needed because XI needs to construct IDoc-XML from the IDoc. No other SAP system needs to do that.
    To Enable Acknowledgement:
SXMB_ADM ->Integration Engine Configuration ->Specific Configuration ->Add New entry -> Select parameters as:
    Category: RUNTIME
    Parameters: ACK_SYSTEM_FAILURE
    Current Value: 1
    GO TO SLD:
Create Technical System: Choose WEB AS ABAP if the system is R/3 -> Define SAP SID, Installation Number and Database Host Name a Maintain message Server Details according to Sender System -> Maintain Client Details of Sender System ->Select a Installed Product for Sender System
Create Business System: Choose WEB AS ABAP if the system is R/3 -> Choose the Technical System and the client Created Before -> Choose the Installed Product -> Set:
    Business System Role: Application System
    Related Integration Server: Integration Server
    Integration Builder
    Integration Directory:
Add Business System:  Adapter Specific Identifiers -> 'Logical System' identical to the 'Logical System Name' in the SLD Business System
IDoc Receiver Communication Channel: port the same as XI System IDX1

    background jobscheduling for file adapter...
you can schedule the file adapter according to your requirement as follows:
In the  Communication Channel Monitoring Locate the link Availability Time Planning,  In Availability Time Planning, choose the Availability time as daily and say create, give the time details, select the communication channel in your case file adapter , goto the Communication Channels tab and filter and add the respective channel, save it

  • RFC destination for RFC to File scenario

    Hi,
I m creating a TCP/IP RFC destination in R/3 system for my RFC to File scenario.
    Step 1:
For this a Registered server program is created in Jco RFc Destinations with,
    Program Id : pgm1
    Gateway host : PI's host
    Gateway service : PI's service
    application server host: ECC's host
    system numer     : ECC's number
    client  : ECC's client
    logon user : ECC user
    password : pwd
    Step 2:
In SM59, TCP/IP connection the following parameters are given:
    Program ID : pgm1
    Gateway host : PI's host       -
    > is this correct
    Gateway service : PI's service      -
    > is this correct
    Step 3:
So i am calling the RFC in ABAP program (R/3 system) like:
    CALL FUNCTION 'Z_HR_OUTBOUND_DATA2'
    IN BACKGROUND TASK DESTINATION 'Z_HR_OUTBOUND_DATA2'
    Step 4:
    In PI side,
for RFC sender I am passing :
    Application server : PI server
    Application server service: PI host
program ID: pgm1 which was created in the previos step
For RFC Metadata Repository Parameter, i am passing all the values related to R/3
Please let me know whether the steps and values i given is correct.
B'cos even if i give ECC's information in Gateway host and Gateway service the scenario works fine and if i PI's info then also it works fine.
so i am confused as which is the correct method. pls clarify

Ok I will try to explain....
Assumptions: R3_TO_XI is the name of RFC which I created in ECC of type T.
While creating the RFC in ECC we mention a unique name which is called Progaram ID. Now the same program id we mention in our sender RFC CC.
So now when an ABAP Progarm (where you will call this RFC with it's destination) is scheduled/triggered with the code as mentioned below then since the DESTINATION ('R3_TO_XI') mentioned here contain the same program id which we have mentioned in our sender CC, invokes the adapter in PI and soon after that all pipeline steps get executed in XI.
    CALL FUNCTION 'ZBAPI_COMPANY_GETDETAIL'
      IN BACKGROUND TASK
      DESTINATION 'R3_TO_XI'
      TABLES
        comp_detail = company_detail.
    COMMIT WORK.

  • Alert Configuration for File to IDoc scenario

    I have followed Alerts : Step-by-Step /people/michal.krawczyk2/blog/2005/06/28/xipi-faq-frequently-asked-questions
and configured Alerts for file to IDoc scenario.
But the problem is, I did not notice any alerts being generated. I could notice the IDocs being posted to destination system. So I was going through Alerts-Troubleshoute Guide. In intension to maintain monitoring level, I clicked Configuration tab. But I did not notice my sender and receiver system there to maintain.
Can any body help me to detail out the procedure to add sender and receiver systems to maintain the monitoring level?
    Regards,
    Suraj Kumar

    hi Suraj,
WHich SP version are you on??
If you are on Sp14 or above, then unfortunately, Michal's Trouble Shooting for Alerts will not help.
From SP14 onwards, activation of end to end monitoring is not needed for Alerting. Refer to this note <b>870232</b> for this info.
Next, to test if your Alerts have been defined correctly, go to SE38. In the program , type RSALERTTEST and then click on EXECUTE button ( F8 ). In the next window, it will ask you for your ALERTCATEGORY. Just give the name of your ALERT CATEGORY and click EXECUTE.
If you have configured your alerts correctly, you will receive a message that tells ALERT IS GENERATED and will give the ALERT ID.
Now, go to your Run TIme workbench and then select ALERT INBOX and see if you have got the ALERT message in your ALERT INBOX.
If this is working fine, then the last step, implement the note 913858.

  • Datatypes for File to File Scenario

    Dear all,
i have a question concerning a file to file to file scenario in XI.
I simply just want so send a RTF-file to XI via FTP adapter and store it on a different FTP server according to the file name. I do not need any information for the content of the file. So I do not want to perform a File Content Conversion.
I know that it is it possible to implement this scenario without using the integration engine. But for monitoring purposes I'd like to do it anyway.
My question ist, what kind of message types I will have to choose. From my understanding, the file adapter should just store the content of the file in the payload as a binary data. So does it matter what kind of data type for the message interfaces i choose in integration builder. Of course, a message mapping is not required,
    Best regards
    Florian

    HI,
In File-XI-File scnearios, you need to have Sender File Communication Channel to pick the file and Receiver File Communication Channel to send the file.
You can create a Data Type something like this
    <DataTypeFile>
    <Row> ...</Row>
    </DataTypeFile>
    Also look into this Blog-
XI in the role of a FTP
FTP  receiver adapter does not transfer (STORE) file
