SLD in DEV

Hi,
We have just one SLD for DEV, QAS & PRD. The SLD is installed on DEV. Are there any risks to have it installed there ?

  • Separating the SLD Systems DEV and QA

    Currently DEV,QA and Production is connecting existing SLD. we have created new sld.
    we want connect the DEV and QA to new sld system.

    Hi,
    go to Transaction SLDAPICUST in the DEV and QA system, Change the entries there, and give the entry for new SLD. Also look out for the services running in SM59 (RFC destinations)
    You have to check in Visual Admin also that all SLD parameters are pointing to new SLD. Ask basis to look into this, will be helpful

  • Transport targets for single SLD for (Dev & QA), another SLD for (prod)

    Hi All,
    My landscape is
    systems: DEV ( Dev & QA )----->PRD ( prod ).
    i.e, Development and Quality in one sys DEV , Production in the other PRD.
    i have two business systems in DEV :
    1) BS_Dev1
    2) BS_Dev2
    i created a group for these , say DEV_GROUP
    As Dev and QA are under one SLD, there is no need of quality group right?
    so i have created business sys in DEV:
    which points the target business systems for BS_Dev1  &  BS_Dev2
    1) BS_Pro1
    2) BS_Pro2
    and created a  target group for these, say PRO_GROUP
    So  my question is , as there is no QA in landscape
    this would be the procedure to create the Groups and  target systems for the objects of DEV (Dev & QA ) to PRD.
    And then transport the objects from DEV (SLD -> Administration -> Content -> Export)
    to PRD (SLD -> Administration -> Content -> Import).
    Correct me if i am wrong.

  • Dev and QA pointing to Same SLD

    Hi Experts,
    We have a situation in our landscape. Just want to confirm if it is right approach or will be face any issue in future.
    We have DEV and QA box of SAP PI in our landscape. (PRD under construction)
    1. The DEV PI and QA PI are installed on the box and has the same host name. xyz.com
    2. When I execute the SXMB_IFR from Dev PI it opens the url like xyz.com:54000.
    3. And when I click the SLD it opens the SLD with url xyz.com:54000/sld
    4. When I check the SMICM-->Services the http port is 54000
    Until this it is fine, but when I login to QA box the following happens
    0. QA PI  is the system copy of DEV PI.
    1. When I execute the SXMB_IFR from QA PI it opens the url like xyz.com:55500 (as already mentioned xyz.com host is same for dev and qa)
    2. When I click the SLD link of QA box it opens the url xyz.com:54000
         -- it opens the SLD of Dev PI were as i guess it should open the url like xyz.com:55500
    3. http port for QA PI is 55500
    I can see something is wrong here, but not able to understand it.
    Though we are not facing any immediate issue what problems can we expect in future.
    How can we rectify it?? any sap note available for this??

    Hi Prasanna,
    As Rajasekhar said ,
    Your Project has one SLD for Dev/QA and mounted that SLD in Dev and one SLD for Production, some of the client prefer this approach.
    Even in our project also we followed the same.
    Since SLD is mounted in Dev ;when you  clicked on  the SLD it opens the SLD with url xyz.com:54000/sld.
    There is nothing wrong in it .

  • Error in Updating SWCV SLD Info

    When i try to use the 'Update SLD Information' under tools in the enterprise repository i get the following error -
    GUID of software component version in SLD has changed To import the software component version with the new GUID, create a new software component version
    Why does this occur and what can be done about it?

    Hi,
    1. In your SLD of dev, do you have the same GUID for this SWCV ?
    if yes,  you should do a clear cache of your IS (PI web page -> administration -> cache -> etc..) + SXI_CACHE.
    2. if no, eventually, think to this non-normal action.... but...
    Do you have this SWCV in another PI environment (exm PI qua) with your GUID (this one of ESR)?
    If yes, check if you have this SWCV (same GUID) in the SLD of this other environment (exm XI QUA).
    if yes, maybe a solution to avoid your conflict in ESR dev / SLD dev is to do an export of this SWCV from SLD qua to SLD dev... but... that's clearly not the normal way... with perhaps other impacts (I don't know your landscape, your SWCV dependency, your development phase vs production and/or maintenance)... so that's just an idea which could be thank. (coud be)

  • Problem when importing SLD objects

    HI,
    I am trying to export and import SLD objects from Dev to Prod. For that I have studied weblogs and following the below procedure:
    to transfer SLD objects:
    Export the Business system in SLD of DEV server
    Select the Business system and click export button, then download file and saving to a local machine.
    and importing
    go to adminstration - > import the file
    now while importing the file on the production server, it is displaying " The target namespace of special import has already one or more data, import may corrupt the data". Below that two buttons Cancel import and Import anyway.
    what to do at this stage?? shall I import in this way??
    Please suggest me how to proceed....

  • Integration Engine does not connect with SLD

    Hi all,
    We have an XI 3.0 system that acts as QUA system in our track. This XI 3.0 system is connected to a central SLD installed on a PI 7.1 system that acts as our DEV system.
    Everything seems to be OK in the Java part. We refresh the caches successfully and enter the SLD in DEV system.
    We have a problem, though with the SXI_CACHE transaction. It shows the following message:
    "Unable to refresh cache contents.Error during last attempt to refresh cache"
    And the detail of the error is: "LCR_GET_OWN_BUSINESS_SYSTEM - NO_BUSINESS_SYSTEM"
    We have checked in the SLD and the Business system is created.
    In transaction SXMB_ADM when checking the Integration Engine connection with SLD we get the following error: "No access to system landscape at present"
    In the Runtime Workbench of the system, when checking the Cache Connection, the Integration Engine part shows a warning. In the RWB also the Self Status Check of the Integration Engine gives errors:
    "Are roles in SXMS_CONF_ITEMS and SLD consistent?"
    We have already followed all the post installation guides, and the cache checks, and SLD checks guides.
    Do you know which the soltion could be for our error??

    We have checkes
    SM59: TCP/IP Destination: LCRSAPRFC y SAPLSDAPI. check the program ID is correct.--> connection test goes OK
    HTTP destination: INTEGRATION_DIRECTORY_HMI: do a test connection: result=500--> connection test gives us 500 result
    SLDAPICUST: Check the user and password and the server defined. the PI server should be the main server.--> checked, OK
    SXMB_ADM>Integration Engine Configuration: Check if the destination is properly defined. should be dest://http://<server><port>/sap/xi/engine?type=entry> checked. OK
    Check RZ70: wich configuration you have there?--> The configuration in the RZ70 for the SLD is pointing to the DEV system, so it is correct
    SLDCHECK results:
    "Properties of RFC destination SAPSLDAPI
      RFC host:        %%RFCSERVER%%
      program id:      SAPSLDAPI_XXX
      gateway host:    XXXX
      gateway service: XXXXX
    Testing the RFC connection to the SLD java client...
    RFC ping was successful

  • Transporting from DEV to QA

    We have 3 different sld's for DEV,QA,and PRD systems.
    i need to transport my XI objects from DEV to QA.i'm working on standard XI contents.
    i need answers for my following questions.
    1.if i use full export for transporting SLD from DEV to QA,can i use the same tecnical systems and business systems in QA?
      Can T.S and B.S also get transported from DEV to QA?
    2.In such case how to define business systems groups and transport targets?

    Hi,

    You can use same technical systems and Business systems.
    1. Go to Dev SLD and Export all your SWCV, Products, Technical and Business Systems. This is nothing but saving of the SLD objects as a CIM file on your local machine. You would also need to export the Technical And Business System poitning to your XI integration server .
    2. Go to the QA SLD and then import these objects exported in Step 1 in QA SLD
    3. Now, create the QA Tech and Business Systems in the QA SLD
    4. Go to the Dev Business systems imported on the QS SLD and you will have an option Transport Targets. In this map the Source Business System to the Target Business Systems.
    Make sure that all Dev Business Systems have the correspodning Transport Targets for the QA Business SYstems
    5. Now if you import the ID objects in QA , the business systems name will be renamed automatically.
    2.In such case how to define business systems groups and transport targets?
    You need to create Transport Groups on your QA SLD. One for Dev and One for QA. You can create Transport Groups only for Integration Server Business Systems.
    And this is why you would need to export the Dev XI technical System and Business System from the SLD of Dev and Import it into the QA SLD.
    2. Create the transport groups and then assign all Dev Business Systems to Dev Group, all QA Business Systems to QA group and then create the transport targets.
    You use the Option related Integration server in the Business Systems to assign a Business System to a Group.

  • Business system not in dev but in QA

    Hi,
    we have a scenario where  ECC sends a message to PI which sends a web service request out to a provider.
    We have a only 1 ECC system in DEV but 2 ECC systems in QA ... one for QA and 1 for training.
    Now we want both ECC systems to be able to send messages to the same PI system in QA and PI has to route the request to the right web service provider. How can we configure this in DEV and transport if there is only 1 ECC system in DEV ?
    Is there a way to create a virtual business system for training in DEV (I.E no technical system) and then configure with this system in DEV and then transport in QA where the real training system is... that is , the one which has a technical system.

    For QA ECC 1
    1) Export full SDL from DEV to QA.
    2) Create T.S & B.S for QA ECC 1.
    3) Create Tranport Group & provide Transport Target in QA SLD for Dev B.S.
        This will automatically convert your dev B.S to QA B.S in Configuration .
    4) Import all objects in IR & ID.
    For QA ECC 2.
    1) Create New Business system for Training ECC in QA SLD.
    2) Since we can't give 2 trasport targets for 1 dev B.S, you have create a new configuration scenario and import your new B.S .
    3) You have to do seperate configuration for sender B.S as your new B.S
    4) your I.R objects will be same for both configuration.
    Also Import the idoc metadata from both ECC in IDX2.
    When an idoc is triggred from ECC1 or ECC2 in QA, it will use the same mapping and data will be transfered to Target system.

  • Installing ECC 6.0,  XI not full in place Option for SLD

    We r Installing ECC 6.0,  and we dont have XI fully installed in place and also another ECC 6.0 in place.
    While installing ECC 6.0, it gives 3 options reg the SLD configuration as :
    > No SLD destination
    > Configure a local SLD
    > Register in the Central SLD
    Which one should I select.
    If i select the first option (No SLD destination), in the future can I change it to the last one.

    The first one is telling that u r not using the SLD in u r landscape
    The second one is telling that U r about to configure the Local SLD on u r current installation only...
    The third thing tell us that if there is already configured  SLD in u r previous system and u want to use that SLD for u r current installation then u have to redirect the configuration parameter to the existing SLD only...
    AS for example...
    In my system previuosly i have one DEV system installed with SLD configuration...after ward i had installed the PRD system and at the time of installation by mistakenly i had installed a new SLD over there in PRD also.....
    but after some time as of requriement i have to make only one SLD between DEV & PRD system so later on i will redirect the PRD SLD to DEV SLD...
    so after installation u can change/reconfigure u r SLD also...
    if you want the steps for the same then let me know..

    If I have the DEV and QA in the same box and the sid’ s being EXD and EXT respectively pointing to the same technical system. Should we assign the role of “Integration server” to both the business systems or EXD should be integration server and EXT being the application system?? Hows it work for a single SLD for Dev and QA?

    Adding to stefan, in your SLD, you create Transport Groups and then assign your Business System to the Correct Transport Groups ( when you assign a Business System to an Integration Server ,  it is added to the Transport Group to which the Integration Server belongs ) and then you assign the Transport Targets to the Source and Target business systems.
    note : When migrating objects from one environment to another, all Source Businss systems should belong to the same transport group.

  • SLD - Export Business System: 404 Not found while downloading ZIP-File

    Hi, well we did a complete export of SLD to another XI-System. This worked fine so far except that one business System was not properly "installed" in SLD.
    Therefore we want to export this single business system via option "Export" but we receive an 404 Error: The requested resource does not exist. when trying to download the given zip-file!
    I read in OSS that this error occurs in XI-systems with SP <12 and SAP suggest to upgrade to 12
    Well that's not an appropriate solution!
    Does somebody can help how we can download this zip-file with the business system in it?!
    Or is there some workaround i am not familiar with?!

    we had two same Technical Systems with two differnet hosts given in the SLD of DEV & PROD System.
    After decision to devide both systems, means to seperate SLDs we copied the whole SLD from DEV to PROD. So there were some conflict with this two technical systems because during import of CIM-Data the business systems got switched up.
    Therefore we thought we have to export the business system given in DEV SLD to import this business system in PROD SLD. But the workaround is that we simply assign the wrong imported business system to the right technical system (in PROD SLD)

  • Defining an SLD Strategy for XI Migration using CMS

    Can the following scenario occur?  Please explain if any of my assumption are incorrect.
    -> An XI DEV, QA, and PRD environments each with a separate "slave" SLD.
    -> A separate "master" SLD that contains all XI dimensions (i.e. transport, solution, and technical).
    -> This "master" SLD will deploy all relevant SLD components (Products (versions), SC (versions), Technical Systems, and Business Systems) to the specified SLD "slave" environment.  For instance, the master SLD will provide only DEV SLD components to the DEV "slave" SLD specific instance.  No QA or PRD SLD relevant components will be stored on the DEV "slave" SLD. 
    -> All Integration Repository (IR) and Integration Directory (ID) objects will be exported from DEV "slave" SLD and imported into the "master" SLD.
    -> All ID components will have transport targets defined in the master SLD for DEV to QA and QA to PRD, respectively.
    -> CMS will perform all transports from DEV to QA and from QA to PRD for both IR and ID components by defining "tracks" for specific SC and development configurations for each of the development states of an SC.

    The following scenario can occur.  That's what we're doing at our customer site.
    -The only thing is that you can import QA and PRD relevant components to DEV.  If you want to define the transport targets between the systems, then this information will need to be the individual SLDs (slave SLDs).

  • PI and SLD Transports using CTS+

    HI all,
    We have a three system  PI landscape (DEV.QAS.PRD)
    There is a two system separate SLD landscape (DEV/QAS & PRD SLD) - this is also serving PI, NWDI, Portal, & solution manager has its own SLD.
    CTS+ has been configured to transport all PI objects in a PI Domain controller.
    In trying to integrate SLD to PI domain controller, the SLD transport is created, we can see it in the transport organizer but after releasing the SLD transport , it does not show up in the SLD source system defined in the domain controller? Any ideas why?
    The transport content is in /usr/sap/trans/data at the file system level.

    I do not think CTS+ support SLD content transport. You have to use manual export/import mechanism from with in the SLDs.
