SLD server connection is inactive

Hi,
"SLD server connection is inactive is shown" by executing RSGET_SMSY
SLDCHECK -> is ok
SLDAPICUST -> is ok
LCRSERVADDR  -> is set
SMSY_SETUP->Edit->expert setting     ->  testet with all Blank and with serveral user data
SLD is working fine by connecting via http !
We use a Solution Manager 7.1 with SLES 10
Thanks
Steven

Hi,
Could you please check, if the SMSY_SETUP expert settings are empty,
as LANDSCAPE_FETCH uses only SLDAPICUST transaction
for connection data.
Maintaining expert settings at the same time will confuse the job.
Please make sure the alias & primary RFC destination are correctly set,
as well as checking that the user/password combinations are also valid.
Please review SAP Note 757204 regarding the SMSY-SETUP expert settings
empty.

    Trying to execute an automatic data transfer from SLD to Solution Manager 3.2 with transaction SMSY_SETUP, I have recieved the update log message:
    The SLD server connection is inactive
    Message no. SCDT_LIS_IF011

    Some suggestions how to fix it?

    Hello Christine,
    due to the fact that we (up to now) have no need for a business landscape, we created one manualy to test if the check would get a bit further then.
    We created a business landscape with the following settings:
    Technical System: Web AS ABAP
    System: <solution manager>
    Business System Role: Application System
    Related Integration Server: (no integration server defined)
    Testing the Connection wit SLDCHECK we got this error message:

    After install and test SLD into XI 3.0, I am trying to customizr a Solution Manager 3.1 to connecto with SLD using SYSM_SETUP. I configure RZ70, SLDAPICUST, and SMSY_SETUP->Edit->expert setting as requested in SAP documentation.
    When I try from SMSY_SETUP, Schedule data transfer from lis/SLD, the update log returns a message:
    <b>The SLD server connection is inactive

    When executing SLDCHECK I get all checks with green status except:

    Someone have some sugestion how to fix it??

    Hello,
    We met this problem too.
    However, we solved the problem. In our situation, it was becasue the sldapiuser was locked on SLD. The following is our solution.
    1. logon to http://<sldhost>/<port>/sld to check the ID and password of the SLD user (e.g sldapiuser)
    2. fill in the user and password in /sldapicust
    3. go to /smsy_setup      Edit<<expert settings and then fill in the same user with the one you have in sldpicust
    4. check the SLD connection with /sldcheck
    Good luck!

  • SMSY_SETUP: via SLD: "The SLD server connection is inactive"

    Hi folks,
    setting up the Solman 4.0 and want to replicate our landscape from our System Landscape Directory.
    I followed the instructions in SMSY, set the RFCs etc.
    - set the user / pw in SLDAPICUST
    - in SMST_SETUP, in the expert settings: put the right user (Administrator), host and port of the SLD
    I checked customizing with transaction SLDCHECK ->everything ok, except it's coplanming that it cannot find settings for my Solman-client (yellow).
    When triggering the Data transfer via SMSY_SETUP, "SLD", I get in the application log this error message:
    "The SLD server connection is inactive",  (Message no: SCDT_LIS_IF011)
    "Access the SMSY_SETUP transaction to check the connection data for SLD in the expert settings"
    Has anybody an idea how to "activate" the SLD server connection?
    I cannot find anything what I am missing there...
    Thanks
    Christian

    Hello Christian,
    Please check the following document in SAP Service Marketplace. It has been designed to tackle with some of the questions on system data exchange between SAP Solution Manager and SLD, with an overview on all required steps and guides as well as some tips and tricks.
    It also contains answers on how to proceed when the SLD Server is inactive:
    http://service.sap.com/~form/sapnet?_SHORTKEY=01100035870000538663&_SCENARIO=01100035870000000202&_OBJECT=011000358700000530282007E, see especially chapter 5. Answers to questions 1 and most probably to question 3 (in current document version on slide 7).
    I hope this helps to solve your issues.

    Hi Sasha,
    Are you able to connect to the SLD through the browser via http://server:port/sld
    I removed everyhing from the smsy_setup except for the namespace at it works fine now.
    Have you entered all the relevant data in sldapicust transaction ?

  • SLD server connectivity

    i have read that a portal consultant is required to accomplish the task of connecting to SLD server by configuring HTTP connection parametres..
    can anybody please explain what it is in detail
    thanks in advance
    krishna

    Generally the portal doesn't need SLD, but if there's a web dynpro application running on the same instance, then that may require a Jco Destination to be configured.
    If you look at the SLD data supplier service in Visual Admin on the portal instance, then you will see the connectivity parameters for sending the Web AS details to SLD.
    Cheers

  • Content Server connection problems

    SAP Content Server connection problems
    I have installed the SAP Content Server on a Windows 2003 server. I connected to the Max DB on the remote server from Database Manager on my PC. I created repositories in R/3 in OAC0 and CSADMIN and saved documents to the Content Server. This all took a few hours from O/S install to saving a document in the repository, so I do understand the basics of the Content Server and Max DB.
    Unfortunately we are not going to use Windows; we will be running this on UNIX. Therefore I'm trying it out on a Linux system while I wait for the AIX system to be available. It's been a long road but I have finally gotten the install to finish 'successfully' however I can't connect from R/3.
    When I run the check http://10.XXX.YYY.ZZZ:1090/ContentServer/ContentServer.dll?serverInfo from the browser on the Linux host I get back a good status as shown below:
    serverType="SAP HTTP Content Server";serverVendorId="SAP AG";serverVersion="640";serverPatch="0";serverBuild="16";pVersion="0046";serverStatus="running";serverDate="2008-03-25";serverTime="22:39:45";startUpDate="2008-03-25";startUpTime="22:32:21";lastAccessDate="2008-03-25";lastAccessTime="22:38:33";
    However when I do this from any my PC it won't connect. (Of course the real problem is I can't connect from R/3.)
    If I try the same URL from a different user session on the same Content Server Linux host I get the same good status.
    I thought maybe the httpd.conf file was wrong so I tried:
    Listen 0.0.0.0:1090
    In cs.conf I tried commenting out AdminSecurity & AdminSecurityGroup.
    I also changed StorageDriver from SAPDBStorage to FSStorage.
    I don't know if this is related or just another problem to tackle once I can get through this one. I was not able to add the new system to the Database Manager. I get the error "-4 could not connect to socket [10060]".
    Thanks to all for any help. Points will dutifully be rewarded.
    David

    Hi Henk,
    It looks like I am dumber than a rock. The firewall was indeed active on the Linux host. I turned it off and can now do the http connection test to the Content Server. (I awarded very helpful points.)
    I still can't connect to the database with the Database Manager however the message has changed; it now says "-4 XSERVER might be inactive". I just turned off the firewall so I have a few things to try, like figure out how to start MaxDB without the DB Manager. I'll post my progress. Thanks Henk.

    Now I have installed the Database Studion on my PC. No I'm getting this message when I try to connect to the host/database on the Linux system: "Cannot connect to host 10.XXX.XXX.XXX:7210 [Connection refused: connect], -813."
    Does MaxDB need to be started to connect? Any idea how to start it manually? Thanks,
    David
    Edited by: Dave Hill on Mar 28, 2008 1:06 AM
    Ah, at long last. There's this tiny yet very important little program called x_server that SAP didn't include in the SAP Content Server install guide. This needs to be running in order for anything to connect. I'm sure most of you know about it but for the rest you can find it in:
    /sapdb/programs/bin
    Then type
    ./x_server start
    I'm not sure what user it should run under but I started it as the sdb user.
    You could automate the database startup with a script. See http://maxdb.sap.com/doc/7_7/e9/005dac1592496783e26133eb7fad0b/frameset.htm
    Thank you Henk, I'll call this problem solved and award points.

  • SLD server exception: IO error: Read timed out

    Hi,
    I have deployed the components for NWDI and after that when i am creating the Domain,I am doing update CMS data for creating a Track. I am getting the following error:
    SLD server exception: IO error: Read timed out
    Can any one help on this.
    Thanks

    Hi,
    My SLD is a PI 7.0 system and my NWDI is configured on a standalone Java system.
    I have done the SLDDataSupplier check, and it connects fine to the SLD.
    Also on my http://<hostname>:<port>/devinf/main in the NWDI system, the SLD link points to the right SLD and im able to connect.
    Still at the CMS update stage it gives the error -

    Regards,
    Aidan

    Hi Aidan,
    "Your logon id (domain\user) does not have SystemAdmin rights; some functionality
    is disabled."
    This is caused by the fact that the user you are logged in as isn't in the UJA_SVR_DEFAULT table, the SYSADMIN field needs to have a value that contains your user id (i.e. DOMAIN\USER)   . You can set this up with the UJA3_WRITE_SYS_USERS program.
    "When I try to install APPshell the following errors occur:
    @8O@ UJA_DATA_CHECK E 006 Application PLANNING's multiprovider /CPMB/ATMKOOE not exist in BW
    @8O@ UJS_EXCEPTION E 003 Errors occured during "after import" method call during activation"
    Aidan, sounds like something went terribly wrong during your activation process. Do this, Clean the appset with the UJS_ACTIVATE_CONTENT program and make sure that everything is completely deleted. Make sure that there is a lot of memory available for the activation and try it again.
    It should work.
    Hopefully this helps you.
    Cheers, Scott

    Hi Bryan ,
    i had made few changes in EP module and since then my server is not starting properly. i am not able to login to EP module. so i made changes in UME using configtool.
    I changed DataSourceConfiguration to use dataSourceConfiguration_r3_rw.xml and used user J2EE_ADMIN . since then while server comes up it gives some error related to service jms_provider.
    so before putting the trace here , can any one tell me which is the default dataSourceConfiguration ? and also what user do i specify ??
    i just want to fall back to default datasourceconfiguration
    here is the current trace when using dataSourceConfiguration_r3_rw.xml

  • Error when access EP - Dispatcher running but no server connected- details

    Hi every body:
    I have problem when I try to access SAP EP with URL: http://192.168.122.82:50000/irj/portal
    I tried to activate the debug remote, I access on configTool and on the section of process node I activate the options of debugabble, enable debugable , restricted load balancing.
    Then I apply the changes and restart the services and my SAP EP didn't run. I try to deploy my app on NWDS and the it can't connect with vm and check whether the SAP J2EE Engine is up and running.
    All the services are running.
    Then I try to revert the configuration of debug to try deactivate the options, apply and restart the services but my SAP EP get the error:
    SAP WebAS Engine is starting...
    If this state does not change within a few minutes,
    please contact your system administrator.
    Check the recommendations in SAP Notes: 943498, 764417
    Message: Dispatcher running but no server connected!
    Details: No details available
    All the services are running.
    I post this on the thread, where I post some details
    SAP EP Error: Dispatcher running but no server connected!
    But I find a detail on dev_serv0.log
    And I saw a difference on this attribute:
    On SAP EP DEV
    DLoadBalanceRestricted=yes
    Djstartup.debuggable=no
    And SAP EP QAS
    DLoadBalanceRestricted=no
    Djstartup.debuggable=no
    And I check the configuration on SAP EP DEV and the checks of debug and restricted load balance are inactive
    I think that this atribute no change, how can I change this attribute. ???

    Hi Jesus,
    Please check the service  in SAP MMC are running or not. if not running, then you need to check the log file to identify the root cuase of the issue. If it is running fine then update the host and ip address in the host file and acces the portal with fully qualified domain name (fqdn) like http://<host>:<port>/

  • SLD Server can not start

    Dear Experts,<br>
    I need your help...<br>
    <br>
    I installed ABAP+Java stack (ECC6.0 and SAP J2EE Engine/7.00 PatchLevel 109886.44).<br>
    When I view http://myserver01:50000/sld, I saw that the SLD server is stoped and I can not start it even I click "Start Sever button", system gave me error message "Failed to send start signal for complete cluster, SLD may still be stopped on other cluster nodes.".<br>
    <br>
    I checked the log in Administration tab, the log said:<br>
    ===========================================<br>
    #4 12/20/2009 19:40:06.390 [SAPEngine_Application_Thread[impl:3]_6] FATAL com.sap.lcr.start.StartDirector: SLD start failure, unable to activate the SLD CIMOM. Check the log of the persistence medium for any errors. If the error is reproducible, please send a message to SAP. More...<br>

    ===========================================<br>
    <br>
    Could any one  tell me how to start up the SLD? <br>
    More information: When I click Administration>details>Data, I saw:<br>
    ==================<br>
    Nothing Available<br>
    Model Version (sld/active):     No model loaded<br>
    SAP CR Content Version (sld/active):     (SLD server stopped)<br>
    ==================<br>
    But when I checked the location of E:\usr\sap\EC6\SYS\global\sld\model, I can see cimsap.zip and CR_Content.zip files there.<br>
    <br>
    <br>
    <br>
    Further more, I was a little bit confused about the SLD HTTP Port, that is during the installation parameter setting phase (SAP Sytem-> Central SLD), I choose SLD destination as "Register in existing central SLD(default)", and set SLD port to "8089", SLD Data Supplier User as "SLDDSUSER", but I can not find user "SLDDSUSER" in ABAP SU01, it's very strange. when I tried to view http://myserver01:8089/sld, it said "Page can not be found", could you tell me what's the difference between these two URL: Http://myserver01:8089/sld and http://myserver01:50000/sld?<br>
    <br>
    There are totally two questions(one problem and one question) of mine, any suggestions is welcome and it's surely that I will follow up and close this thread for the effective solutions.
    <br>
    Thank you very much in advance.<br>
    <br>
    Best regards,<br>

    Hi Nick,
    1. Is SLD a pure java component that ABAP system should connect it through gateway port (JCo or something else..) and Java engine connect it directly with HTTP/HTTPS?
    Above statment is right
    2. So, the mechanism of Solution manager to manage all the systems is also based on SLD? Can we monitor all the system landscape without Solution manager, just SLD instead?
    SLD is central repositoy to store system data present in landscape , Solution manager is used to monitor all the system using SLD also.
    We can't montior system by just using SLD.
    3. The functionality of the Visual Administrator->Cluster->Server->Services->SLD Data Supplier is to provide user inforamtion of the system that will be registered info. onto the SLD server, not configuring the SLD Server? (SLD is configured through Webpage port 50000 and to-be registered server is configured through Visual Administrator?
    SLD Data Supplier is a area in As java system where you provide the information of existing SLD system ( the Exisiting SLD mean where SLD services is running )
    SLD is purely java component
    user SLDDSUSER belongs to the "TO-BE Registered" system, not the SLD server, am I understanding right?
    SLDDSUSER belong to SLD server
    so, the event of "Trigger SLD data transfer" is to send system information to the SLD Server
    Yes.
    Thanks
    Anil

  • SLD server has stopped; start the SLD server in Administration

    I am trying to configure Technical Systems in SLD (for deploying a webdynpro application which has models). Logged in as Administrator. I see this message when I login from the portal (https://host:port/sld):
    "SLD server has stopped; start the SLD server in Administration." And all the links are greyed out.
    When I log in to the Visual Admin, services->Sld->and tested the connection (with same ID as Administrator), I see "connection test failed CIMClientObject"
    What ID, password should I be using for testing the connection for SLD in visual Admin. Or is this related to ID password at all.
    Thanks
    Srinivas

    Thanks for the replies!
    I still have the same problem.
    When I select the SLD Data Supplier under services in Visual Admin, I see an error on the task bar at the bottom: SLD_Collector_Task
    When I open this item, I see the following error message:
    "2008.12.10@10:51:20: HTTP call failed: Failed to send HTTP data: 503 : Service Unavailable. Please check if the target SLD system is available and the SLD bridge is started there"
    Is this something related to SLD configuration.
    Thanks
    Srinivas
