Sleek Photo: Album organisat

Hi, i've been trying to get my zen sleek to store albums within sub folders, mainly cos of the large amounts of multi disk box sets I have. Is it possible to do this? At the moment they automaticly go into the artists folder, then say list the individual disks along with the seperate albums. And is it possible to put albums in chronological order rather than the alphabetical default? Ive got one artist with 70 disks stretching 50years so itd help if it were possible to reorganise. Cheers.

  • Zen Sleek Photo: support for Album A

    As the title already says: will there be support for Album Art for the Zen Sleek Photo in future firmware versions?

    Yes I also ask the same question. I ordered mine earlier this week and thought the sleek would support album art. I actually downloaded MediaMonkey and took about 6+ hours going thru and organizing everything and making sure every album had an album cover. Please Creative just fix this one setback and it would be an even sweeter player then it already is! I couldn't afford to get a ZVM but the Sleek Photo was the next best thing. Please we're not asking much just help us out. There are people out here that still use your earlier players and are being left in the dust...don't leave us there when we know that you can fix it or provide us a way to fix it. Thanks!

  • Zen sleek photo....how do you make folders and edit them on mp3player using windows mediaplayer

    well....that's really all I want to know!: is it possible to create folders and move files around on the sleek photo (windows media player 0 doesn't let you edit the player as far as I know!) I would really like to organize my songs....they all seem muddled up. I have nearly 6 gigs of music on it and when I go under "Artists", sometimes it doesn't show me all the albums. Many of the albums on my player don't even have a folder and all the songs can be found only going on to "all tracks".
    It's a bit frustrating....
    any ideas?
    thanx

    This seems to be happening a lot now... The same thing happened to me. Unfortunately, I had to get a new one, but to save you a phone call, I'll tell you what Zen told me to do.
    . take the batery out.
    2. while putting the batery back in, turn the Zen on. This will take you to recovery mode (make sure your batery is full...you can check this on Recovery Mode. If it isn't you should charge it if you can stil connect to the cimputer. If not follow the rest of the ste
    ps.
    3. Click on Format All. This will sadly delete all your files =(
    4. Click on Ceanup
    5. Click on Reboot. (If this doesn't work and you get the logo again, your Zen's probably broken and you may need to return it and get a new one... or at least that's what I had to do)
    Note: You can also try to just click Cleanup and Reboot and see if that works. If not follow the steps above or call Zen...
    Note: If you can connect to the computer and your batery is full, you may want to download a new dri've. Call Zen for more info.

    I have two q?I have a Zen Sleek Photo player and love it. . Our music displays the Artist. can i the display to Albums only?2. I just backedup my music to a external dri've. Can i delete my music on my pc then copy back to my pc from the external dri've?ThanksChuck?Message Edited by dancnsailr on 0-24-200809:29 PM

    To A clean up, if that doesnt work do a firmware reinstall, IF that doesnt work, so a reformat, you can do all of this using the rescue mode, by the way, use rescue mode to reinstall the firmware.
    For your battery issue, have you drained your battery down to 0% a lot? if so thats whats causing the issue with battery life, its really unhealthy for li-ion batterys to be drained to 0%. if you havent drained it much only once in a while like say once a month, then something else is wrong, make sure bass boost and custom eq are off along with smart volume. if there all off Drain the battery once more completely down to 0% and recharge it completely. tell me if that works, i dont visit this forum much now. you can email me or PM me here if its still bad so i dont have to go on looking and searching for this thread.

  • Creative Zen Sleek Photo isn't being read on compu

    I've had the Sleek Photo for over a year and I've never had any problems until now. The other day it worked, but not its not registering on the computer. I plug it in, Creative Explorer pops up (as usual) but it says that there is no player plugged in. My USB port is ok, and I've tried everything on the Zen site that is recommended but to no avail....help?

    Exactly the same thing has happened to mine today. I had a fault with uploading two tracks to it last night (not sure why), afterwhich I recoverded the player, used disk clean up and let it rebuild the library. However, some albums are now missing, and the display just says "select music to PLAY from Music Library" even when playing tracks (ie no artist or album info is displayed, just the quoted message)?My Sleek is recognised by windows when I plug it into USB ports, but not by the Creative software.Message Edited by django68 on 0-23-200704:23 AM

  • Sleek Photo froze on Playback Er

    Hiya?my sleek photo i've had for a couple of months so far has been a really good mp3 player , i put alot of Mp3's on it and its only like 0% full so far. the only issue i've had with it before was a vertical red bar that appeared in the middle of my screen. was there for months , then one day POW it was gone. So today i was listening to a song i had purchased from the Musicmatch online site i think it was. i bought the entire album of Hades "Resisting Success" and have had that for almost 2 years now on my main comp and on the sleek photo since i bought it. This morning i was listening to it on the way to work , then when i went to lunch i turned it on , it was at the beginning of one of the songs , and it just popped up "Playback Error" and froze. its now 6 hours later and its still on and froze , cant turn it off. I havent changed any mp3's?on the sleek since the first month i bought it , and havent downloaded anything new to my computer since i moved the mp3s over. havent had time haha. so my sleek is frozen in playback error screen and wont go off. any ideas?tanxj

    Jason,
    I've not tried WMA at all. All attempts have been straight MP3. Last night I downloaded a set of upgrades to the s/w that comes on the CD - all for Creative PC applications , not the sleek itself. I deleted all albums from the Sleek and reloaded one (from the PC, not CD). The PC version plays ok, the Sleek one skips through several tracks (not in order, but I haven't got round to looking at how to organise things yet) before stopping after about 3 tracks.
    I didn't get as far as DM's firmware suggestion - at am I went to bed(!) - and may not be able to get time tonight for another attempt. I will do the firmware if nothing else solves it. I'll also do more reading.
    Thank you all so far - I'll keep you updated.

  • Does Zen Sleek Photo require AC adapt

    I am considering buying the Zen Sleek Photo 20gb in a refurb model. My only concern is that customer reviewers state that even though the manual says it comes with an AC charger (and that it is required for charging) it does not have one and that you are required to buy it aftermarket for about $30. Is this true?BTW, I just purchased the 8gb Microphoto and have just installed it and played one classical album. It appears to be a very fine unit. Can anyone comment as to whether the Zen Sleek Photo is at least as good a product as the Microphoto?

    Thanks for the quick reply and the information. I'm assuming you mean that I can, in fact, charge the unit with the equipment that comes with it. The reason I'm concerned about this is that the reviewers claim that the AC adapter that the manual claims is in the box in not there with the refurbished model and that it must be purchased separately. It seemed that they were claiming that it was useless without the adapter.

  • Sleek Photo Song Information Missi

    Hello,
    I had to reset my Zen Sleek Photo via the reset button on the bottom of the player...
    ...And now when listening to tracks (which play fine audio wise) instead of saying the track name, artist and album along with diplsy the position you are in the track, it has the words "Select music to play" and "from music library" underneath that.
    Does any one know why this is and how i can get the information back?
    Thanks,
    Rob

    If you have already tried the recovery mode option and the player is still not detected by the computer, it's best to get in touch with support for further assistance.

  • Zen Sleek photo is great but has terrible softwa

    Ok, Im posting this for one reason. The software to edit,transfer, compile playlists, or do anything for the Zen Sleek Photo is horrible. It is very long and tedious to do one simple change. Don't get me wrong I love my Sleek Photo. its great. But editing songs and making playlists in the creative mediasource is really horrible. I had a Zen Micro and it had Creative Mediasource as well, but It was different. It allowed me to veiw all the tracks at once, or all the albums, or all the artists and showed them to me AS THE WOULD APPER IN THE PLAYER. The Sleek Photo has the folders of the music and it is really hard to keep track of your newly transfered music and maybe not yet correctly labeled stuff if you don't know it doesnt have an artist or something. I was hoping someone could help me out? tell me that im stupid and say there is a preference you can choose, or hey here is some third party software, it works great.
    That would be wonderful
    thanks

    No one at all?

  • Zen Sleek Photo cannot be switched

    From one day to another, my new Zen Sleek Photo can not be switched on anymore. Yesterday I charged it, so I am a bit worried. Especially because the on/off button still is lit, but nothing happens when I press it.
    Usually when the batterie is low, the screen lits with that message when I press the on/off button. In combination with the fact that I charged the device yesterday and did not use it that much, I am worried something is broken.
    Or can somebody say it is still possible with the on/off button lit, that the battery is too low to display the message that it needs to be charged? But still, how can it be that the player is empty, if it automatically switches off when nothing happens? Sure, it's possible I left it on while playing, but it plays album time and then sto
    ps.
    And if it doesn't detect any user-activity, it automatically switches off after 5 minutes.
    Has anyone got the same problem and knows the sollution for it's
    Please help, thanks!!
    Best regards,
    Maarten (Holland)

    Hi Maarten,
    If it's already charged, try resetting the player to see if it will start up then. If it hasn't been charged or you're not sure, leave it charging for a while first and then try the reset.
    If this does not help, then I would advise contacting Customer Support directly for assistance, as there could be a problem with the unit.

  • Zen Sleek Photo, to buy or not to b

    I have never used or owned an MP3 player before, but as I now travel a lot I intend to buy one.
    I have spent quite some time reading various reviews of MP3 players on the internet and the Zen Sleek Photo seems to suit my requirements.
    However the most important requirements to me, are that the player is mechanically robust and the software reliable. Is this the case with this player?

    The Zen Sleek Photo is a great player. I wish they'd give it an Audible update though.
    The player is fairly robust but I would advise purchasing a protecti've case rather than just using the pouch provided. This will prevent the screen getting scratched etc.
    Creative MediaSource Organiser and MediaExplorer are very easy to use (very much like Windows Explorer with a lot more features), and you can also use Windows Media Player 0 or Windows Explorer if you are used to these programs. If you are transferring photos you can get them to fit the screen better with MediaExplorer (select to resize for screen).
    Pros:
    -Sound quality is the best (as with all Creative players) and you can eliminate sreechy treble using customisable EQ
    -FM radio is powerful and not just a gimmick
    -Displays thousands of colours for photos
    -genuinely sleek and compact design
    -intuiti've navigation and software
    -good voice recorder (don't shout too loud very close up as this causes sound ripples in the display!)
    -can download music from just about anywhere, purchase or subscription
    -great 9-hour battery life
    Cons:
    -no Audible support
    -can't browse photos whilst listening to music, and no album art facility
    -plays aritsts/genres in normal play mode by alphabetical track title, not alphabetical album (recently discovered this)
    -can get display errors (probably a one off but my friend has a contrasting vertical line on his screen)
    -touchpad takes some getting used to
    -proprietary dongle for USB and charging, so you can't use any old USB cable or power supply

  • A few annoyances with Zen Sleek Photo 20GB (Reque

    <i>Update:</i>
    PETITION FOR SEPERATING ARTISTS (See "Artist Listings"): Click here to open message in new window
    Many thanks to anybody who gives comments or signs it!
    Zen Sleek Photo Pictures: See 2nd page!
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    I have just recieved my wonderful new Zen Sleek Photo 20GB, and right now I am only allowed to test it (Christmas present ^^)
    I am very impressed with the player, absolutely wonderful
    Of course there are a few problems/annoyances with the player.
    I haven't been able to thoroughly look at the player, but a few things have come to my mind already.
    I am sorry if this thread is perhaps too big :-/ But I really like the Creative MP3 players and want to enjoy my player as much as possible and recommend them to my friends.
    >> Artist listings
    The most annoying thing is with Artist names!
    When you browse the artists, it looks for COMPLETE ONES, exactly as in the tag.
    This is a very big problem for me... I would really prefer having it search IN the tags..
    So if I look for Dr. Dre, it will find him with ANY of the features in the song.
    I don't want it to display about 30 different ones with him in...
    For example:
    Dr. Dre
    Dr. Dre, Mel Man
    Dr. Dre, Hitman, Eve
    Dr. Dre, Eminem
    Dr. Dre, Hitman, Eve, Eminem
    etc etc etc
    This becomes very annoying and makes an extremely long list.
    So what I would like to see, is that it just shows Dr. Dre as ONE artists, and then show his albums with ANY of the featured artists, not only solos.
    Secondly......
    >> Background Pictures
    I have been looking around for images to add to my player as background pictures and found that there is no option to "fit to screen". When you view pictures it adjusts to the >> full-screen << size, not the actual menu size..
    I think there should also be stretch/tile etc options.
    >> Listen whilst viewing
    I think it would be much much better to be able to listen to music whilst viewing pictures..it's just not the same :-/
    >> Other formats
    I think it is a shame you can only view jpegs on the Sleek Photo
    It would be very easy to allow it to display PNG, GIF, BMP files and maybe even VIDEOS.
    I am sure many people would be the sleek over another player because of that.
    >> Pictures: Folders get image for thumbnail
    This isn't much of an inconvenience, but it would be a nice little feature
    So you can set or there is automatically an image set for the folder, so you don't have to wait for the address to display at the bottom. That is a bit too long sometimes too with the /pictures etc (If I remember correctly *hope*)
    I really hope Creative gets around to making some additions to the firmware, user contact is the key to user satisfaction.
    Something else I should say, is the products need updating on various area-specific creative sites. The Sleek wasn't even on some.
    I couldn't search for any updates to the sleek photo as it wasn't on the US site for updates either.
    Many many thanks for reading,
    StephenR
    EDIT: It may also be a nice feature to have album art displayed when you play a song Message Edited by StephenR on 2-7-2005 :43 PMMessage Edited by StephenR on 2-2-2005 04:48 AM
    This range of players have always worked from tag data, so it will always show what's in the tags. If you want to see different data then it's a case of changing the tags.
    Similarly the search works on start of string data, rather than searching as a substring. It might be too much for the small brain of this player to do substring searching, but still a good wishlist item. No Creative players do substring searching to-date.
    <B>>> Background Pictures</B>I have been looking around for images to add to my player as background pictures and found that there is no option to <B>"fit to screen"</B>.     I guess it might be a case of adjusting the pixels and aspect ration of the file?
    I don't have the player, so just a guess.
    Still a nice wishlist for pictures you don't want to have to mess with.
    <B>>> Listen whilst viewing</B>I think it would be much much better to be able to listen to music whilst viewing pictures..it's just not the same :-/
    There's a petition on this for the Micro Photo. Clearly Creative have listened as the Zen Vision:M will be able to do this, and hopefully they'll backtrack firmware for the Micro and Sleek Photo to do it also.
    <B>>> Other formats</B>I think it is a shame you can only view jpegs on the Sleek Photo It would be very easy to allow it to display PNG, GIF, BMP files and maybe even VIDEOS. I am sure many people would be the sleek over another player because of that.
    Again, see the Vision:M. It does all this.
    I couldn't search for any updates to the sleek photo as it wasn't on the US site for updates either.
    Did you try the European site? Ultimately it's very new so they might not be any updates.
    What with the similar release times of the Sleek Photo and Vision:M it might be that regions forego the Sleek Photo and replace with the Vision:M anyway.
  • How can I remove my iCloud Photo Albums from my iPhone 6 storage, but still use the iCloud Photo Sharing?
    I put all my photos from my iPod Touch 4 and my iPhone 4S in iCloud Photo Albums and Labeled them so that when I got the new iPhone 6 on iOS 8.1.2 I could have my previous photos on there for future use. Now I look on my iTunes app on my computer it shows that my storage on my iPhone 6 is almost full. Those Photos in iCloud are taking up all my storage on my iPhone. I know how to add more storage on my iCloud account, I just want to know Is there a way where my iCloud Photo Albums can still be in my iCloud Account, just not taking up all my storage on my iPhone.
    Hello mushysun,
    Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
    If you did not sign out of your Apple ID on your iPhone before creating a new one, then you will need to sign back in with your previous Apple ID and then sign out.  If you do not remember your password and do not have access to the email account, then you can reset your password by using the security questions.
  • How do I delete downloaded photo albums from my iPhone 4 if I don't have the original computer?
    My old computer crashed causing me to lose everything. I have a photo album on my iPhone that I would like to get rid of but i can't seem to figure out how to on my new computer. Is it possible to get rid of that album without factory resetting my phone and losing everything?
    Try this (not 100% sure it will work, though.)
    Transfer all your photos from the device to your computer:
    Then, do an iCloud or iTunes backup.
    Erase all content & settings.
    Restore from the backup.
