Sleep image can this be deleted?
Just trying to free up some space and this seems to take up 5GB.
Sleep does not have an image nor is it one. Please clarify.

AIperformance.log - Can this be deleted?
Hello everyone!
I have recently found that an Adobe Illustrator log file name 'AIPerformance.log' is taking up 699mb of my SSD storage. It's located in Library/Logs/Adobe Illustrator 17/. I have tried to search Google, but came across only one slightly older thread of someone in this same situation, unfortunately there was no answer to whether what this is and if it can be deleted. My particular file says it was created in March and modified in May, but I have been using Illustrator all the way through to today.
Is this something I can delete and regain some SSD space?
I am currently on Yosemite 10.10.1 and my Ai version is 18.1.10.

ChrisI'm on Windows and have been looking into what's filling up my SSD boot drive and happened upon this AIPerformance.log file too.
I just deleted it (into recycle bin first, just in case!) and booted up Illy to check it works, which it does.
Coupled with Photoshop's propensity to create tmp files and just leave them there, I've just recovered 30Gb from my SSD. -
Can this be deleted for me please?

Ranjith Singhi think u want to skip the selection screen when executing the BDC program..if so then u can create a new report program and
1) either Submit the BDC report with all selection screen values from this report and export list to memory and display.
2) or use call transaction method (for tht u need to create a Z transaction for ur BDC program and then call it from ur new Z report with seletion screen values specified)..and skipping first screen while calling this z transaction

How can I disable the sleep image?
I have OS X installed on a 240 GB SSD on my Mac Pro. There is a sleep image of around 20 GB showing up on the drive. I don't normally sleep the Mac Pro as it won't. There are devices attached which prevent the Mac sleeping so there's little point in having it sit on the drive. Its on an OWC PCI Accelsior Drive. Is there anyway of disabling the creation of a sleep image. This Drive is backed up regularly using Time machine.

frozen rogue image on macbook air: synced iphone, was asked to download from itunes, to restart, did this. when restarted there was photo of chocolate saying 'love you'. never seen image, it will not delete, the techs at work tried too. No luck.Virus? any ideas?
I'm an applications developer and also run a part-time videography business. As such, I require more than 3.12GB of RAM. That is the physical limitation of a 32bit system. Pointless to stay on 32bit if you plan on having more than that much RAM.
I'm also not about to pay someone to fix my PC when I can do it myself. I was originally hoping for someone who had experienced the problem before to point me in the right direction so I didn't have to spend so much time trying to figure out what the issue was for myself.
Basically, in the end the problem was caused because right at the point in time when I chose to uninstall, and reinstall; Apple released a new version of iTunes. This version in turn had a requirement of iOS 4.2 to sync with the iPhone. This is a pretty embarrassing for Apple that they would release software reliant on other software before said software was released.
Had I realised I was downloading a newer version at the initial point of installation, this wouldn't have been an issue. I could've easily have rolled back iTunes to the previous version and gotten on with my life.
Another issue is that iTunes is not actually a 64 bit application. It masquerades as one to allow installation on the 64 bit platform. -
Can you automatically delete anchor points when a new image is placed on top - so that it 'replaces'

I'm using CS6, and I have a tree vector image, and I am trying to put names on top, but when I do this to keep it clean with no anchor points (as my other software cant read it with all the points in it) I have to manually delete each one but it deletes the whole path and I then end up with a tree, names on top, and a big gappy circle around the names.
So really, I wanted to add the names on top, and have that delete all anchors underneath .
Does this make sense? :S -
Pages 5.5.1: When opening a document created with Pages '09 (Version 4.0) with Pages 5.5.1 the page header and the page footer are deleted. How can this be prevented? Or is this a bug in Pages 5.5.1?
Same problem here (no graphics in header or footer) and the problem has been reported months ago. It is another bug/feature lost when Apple moves from 09 to the iCloud-compatible versions. Complain to Apple, you may have better chance than me and they may finally listen to their users....

How can I retreive deleted iPhotos which were deleted from the documents and trash files? I stupidly did this because a "genius" from Apple Store assured me that I would still have access to the photos.
Check iPhoto's Advanced preference pane to see if it's set to a referenced or managed library;
If it's set to a referenced library you photos are gone.
If that's the case they might be able to be recovered with a file recovery app like SubrosaSoft FileSalvage. It will run in demo mode so you can see if it can recover your photos before having to purchase it. Use the iMac as little as possible till them so as not to overwrite them.
If it's set to a managed library launch iPhoto with the Option+Command keys held down and rebuild the library's databse file.
What verson of iPhoto and system are you running?

I can not delete old icloud back up from my old phone, keep receiving an error message "this back up can not be deleted because it's in use" it is not in use that phone is long gone!

I use an external hard drive for my Lightroom library and I notice that all the images shown on there are DNG. On my MAC hard drive I have images shown as NEF. I desperately need to free up space on my hard drive, can I safely delete these NEFs?

heidie22, dj_paige has a very good point there. I would not through away the NEF files; I would archive them to a external drive.
By the way, I am assuming that converting RAW files to DNG is a decision you have made and not an accident. -
I have two separate iTunes libraries on different computers and I would like to compact into one. But I cannot without completely erasing one of the libraries. How can I do this without deleting anything?
Copy the content from one computer to another and import the media into iTunes.
Any playlists, playcounts, etc on the computer the content is being moved from will be lost. -

Thanks for any thoughts.I'm having a similar but slightly different problem. My company just migrated to Gmail, and it's saving mail drafts every 30 seconds into my Trash folder.
I unchecked the "Show in IMAP" preference in the Gmail settings, but my Drafts folder completely disappeared. I went back and checked it and the folder reappeared (with my drafts still in there).
I like the idea if starting an email on my laptop and having the option of finishing it on my iPhone or iPad, so only saving Drafts locally would not be ideal. -
I've copied my itunes library onto an external hard drive. Is there any way I can do this and delete songs from my PC without also deleting from the external drive? Already lost two songs!!! I just want a back up - using a work PC and don't want others accessing my songs. Hope someone can help. Thanks!

I'm interested in the block of 4 results starting ITL location. If your profile name shows up somewhere replace it with <Name>. It is also worth checking under Edit > Preferences > Advanced to see where iTunes thinks your media is supposed to go. My script estimates the setting based on the location of the first media file it can actually find.

To delete files from your external HDD, attach it to your MBP and drag the unwanted files to trash and then empty trash.
Then you select the files that you want to transfer by 'drag and drop' to the external HDD and trash the files on your MBP.
