Sleep/wake button unresponsive at the farthest right

Hi everyone. I live in Qatar and I  bought my phone last April and the sleep/wake button now is unresponsive. Does any one know where I can ask for replacement?

The trick with water damage is to switch the device off and let it dry for several days in a warm place. It's not the water that causes the problem - it's the combination of water and electricity. It's a pain that you can't remove the battery from an iPhone because that would allow the water to dry out with no power.
Of course, it makes a differences whether the water is fresh or salty, clean or dirty. Salt water's a killer. Fresh water not so much. If you do get salt water in your device, flushing with distilled water (yes, really) helps.

    Hello all,
I have a 14.88G iPod Nano that I currently use as my primary watch. A week or so ago I started to experience a blank white screen when I press the "sleep/wake" button instead of the watch face (I have it set to wake from sleep to display the clock). When I hard reset it, it will come back fine and the screen will respond and work as normal, as soon as I manually put it to sleep by pressing the "sleep/wake" button and then try to wake it the same thing happens and I have a blank white screen that doesn't respond to touch gestures or anything.
What I have tried so far to no avail:
Numerous hard restarts (holding the "sleep/wake" button with the volume - button).
Tried this: iPod nano (6th generation): Hardware troubleshooting
Changed the watch face to display.
Recharged the device overnight (without full discharge).
Since none of this works I'm out of ideas. Eventhough I have a 6G Nano it should no longer be under warranty since I was sent it as a replacement for a different (older) product.
Any ideas? Is this a known problem? Thanks in advance for any insight any of you could provide. Also, what time is it??
    Regards,

    Hey,
I have the exact same problem as you have described. I also used my ipod as a watch but starting from today, whenever I unlock it the screen turns white until a reset is done. Even a factory reset through itunes didn't fix it.
    Have you found any solution?
    Bah, this is annoying.

  • Sleep Wake Button unresponsive

I just updated my iPad (1) to iOS 5.1.1 and the sleep wake button became unresponsive. I restored the iPad via iTunes and the button still doesn't work. If I wake it up via iTunes, all functions except the button work fine.
    TIA

  • Where do I find the 'home' and 'sleep/wake' buttons on my iPad?

One user suggested I reboot my iPad by holding down the HOME and SLEEP/WAKE buttons at the same time. Where do I fine the home and sleep/wake buttons?  I am new to apple. Thank you.

The home button is the button on the front of the iPad below the screen, the sleep/wake button is on the top edge of the iPad

  • The sleep/wake button is stuck

How do you unstick the button?

    Hello tgn1222,
The following article has a few things that you might try in order to get your sleep/wake button working again.
    iPhone: Hardware troubleshooting

Sleep/Wake button will not lock or unlock iPhone
To lock the phone, press the Sleep/Wake button. Note: By default, if you don't touch the screen for a minute, iPhone locks automatically.
To unlock iPhone, press the Home button or the Sleep/Wake button, then slide the slider.
If either of the above steps don't work, try turning iPhone off and then on again.
If the iPhone will not power off, reset it.
Try to lock or unlock the phone.
    Cheers,
    Allen

  • Sleep/wake button works, but not when iPhone is asleep

I just upgraded from an iPhone 4S to an iPhone 5. When my phone is asleep the top wake/sleep button is unresponsive. The home button will wake the phone up, and once it's awake I can use the top button to wake/sleep the phone. But if I sleep the phone (not turn it off but just sleep it) and wait about 30 seconds, then the top button becomes unresponsive. I've tried holding the top button and that doesn't do anything either.
I do not have Applecare for the phone, nor is under warranty.
I tried the Apple top button replacement web site, but it reports that the phone isn't in the serial number range of affected phones.
    Any ideas or suggestions?

    Hi Craig Volpe,
If you are having issues with your iPhone's sleep/wake button not waking the phone up when it has been asleep for more than 30 seconds, you may want to try some things to troubleshoot.
First, quit all running applications and test again -
iOS: Force an app to close
Next, I would try restarting the iPhone -
Turn your iOS device off and on (restart) and reset
If the issue is still present, you may want to restore the iPhone as a new device -
iOS: How to back up your data and set up your device as a new device

  • Sleep/wake button not working - fixing in Israel?

    Hi all,
I'm a proud owner of an iPhone 5. In the last week I've noticed that my Sleep/wake button is not functioning.
I've Googled it a little and understood that it's a common problem, and if I'll step into a Apple store in the US
they will replace my iPhone with a new one, no questions asked.
The problem is that I've purchased my iPhone 5 in an Apple store in NY, and I live in Israel.
Here in Israel, there's only an official reseller, and a few cellular networks who sells the iPhone 5 officially.
What are my options to fix/replace my iPhone 5 without coming to the NY Apple store (which is not possible
    for me at the moment)?
    Thank you!
    Erez.

  • IPod touch problems grey pixels and stuck sleep/wake button

I got my iPod touch 2g in January of this year and I noticed that my sleep wake button was inside the iPod not sticking out like it is suppose to and I also saw that I have about 15 rows of greyed out pixels. I'm wondering if my warranty can fix both of these problems for free or do I need to pay money. I have tried the stuck pixel fix but nothing happened.

Did you try to restore in iTunes?

  • Sleep/Wake button is jammed!!

I was playing golf the other day and a buddy of mine slapped me on the leg with the grip end of his golf club. He hit my iphone, perfectly in-line with the sleep/wake button, and now the button is stuck in the phone.
He didn't hit it hard which is why I am surprised it is stuck. Have any of you had a similar problem, or do you think this will be covered under apple's warranty(allowing me to switch my current iPhone for a new one free-of-charge)?
Any yes or no answer would be appreciated, thanks.

I went to the local Apple Store near me last night and saw a Genius. I told him I pushed the button in and it got stuck, but he didn't really believe me. Since there was no damage to the outside of my iPhone and there was minimal scratching around the button area he couldn't really argue with me. He swapped my iPhone with a new one and I walked out of the store happy as anything, after buying a new case of course (A nice Les Paul rubber one that fits good).
P.S. If I learned anything from this experience it is to always have a case on my iPhone because I am sure that if I had a case this wouldn't have been a problem. (I had one but didn't like it and then took it off and never put it back on).

  • My sleep wake button won't work on iPhone 4

When USB not connected phones displays symbol that tells me to connect. When connected it shows that phone is charging but it won't charge. Sleep wake button unresponsive.

    Sounds like a hardware problem.
Make an appointment at an Apple Store if there is one nearby to confirm.

  • Iphone 4 just turned itself off, won't turn on again - sleep/wake button hasn't worked for a while - tried charging (even though it was 50% charged when it shut down) and that makes no difference....tried usb to computer and directo to wall socket. help?

phone 4 just turned itself off, won't turn on again - sleep/wake button hasn't worked for a while - tried charging (even though it was 50% charged when it shut down) and that makes no difference....either via usb to computer and direct to wall socket. Any suggestions...other than heading off to the genius bar tomorrow?

Well, the sleep/wake button is also the power button. If you cannot use it to turn on, then you cannot use it to perform a reset by holding it and the home button together until you see the Apple logo. Those are the only two ways to turn the device on. You can try letting the battery go completely dead and then trying to plug it in. After it has charged for 20-30 minutes, the device may come back on. But, without the sleep/wake button, there is no other way to turn the device on or off.

  • IPhone 5 sleep/wake button replacement programme.

Just wondering if anyone ha had difficulty getting their sleep/wake button replaced under the current programme.
Currently Apple are refusing to repace my button due to the fact their is cosmetic damage to my iPhone (the phone is in perfect working order otherwise apart from the sleep/wake button)
Apple claim the button can only be fixed once I've paid for the cosmetic damage to be repiared at over €210. I've said i'm fine to recieve my phone back with the same scratches at I sent it out with but they won't offer me the option as they may need to replace the entire phone, however this isn't my problem.
Apple only say the phone needs to be in working order to be eligbible which it is.

I've just been to the Apple Store Genius Bar with the same issue.  Although there's a small scratch on the corner they classed it as normal wear and tear and it's now been sent off to Holland (!?) for a repair.  The process was quite long, involving the iPhone being wiped and sent through diagnostic checks (to make sure that the phone didn't have any other problems and to verify ownership I assume) but they gave me a loan phone and it's now sent off - turnaround is about a week.
It does seem odd if minor cosmetic damage voids the replacement programme - the only thing I can think of is if it was a ding or dent then that's evidence of being dropped - but like the situation with over-sensitive moisture detectors a few years back it does feel like it's Apple trying to wriggle out of a warranty repair (or in this case a recall issue) by applying the letter of the law rather than common sense.
Just one further issue was that when I checked my serial number at home against the 'replacement programme' https://ssl.apple.com/support/iphone5-sleepwakebutton/ my phone came up as "not eligible" but when the genius bar entered it in their mac-book it said it was eligible!  Probably just me entering the serial number wrong so I don't know for sure.
