Sleep Wake Button unresponsive

I just updated my iPad (1) to iOS 5.1.1 and the sleep wake button became unresponsive. I restored the iPad via iTunes and the button still doesn't work. If I wake it up via iTunes, all functions except the button work fine.

When USB not connected phones displays symbol that tells me to connect. When connected it shows that phone is charging but it won't charge. Sleep wake button unresponsive.

Sounds like a hardware problem.
Make an appointment at an Apple Store if there is one nearby to confirm.

My sleep/wake button is unresponsive, It has been through the usual wear and tear, but I was forced to press it on the far left side of the button, i have read that they immediately change the phone, but that is on the apple retail stores in the US, my question is where can i change my phone in Mexico, my iphone has the SIM card, and Ameican Iphones don't so i do not know what to do.

Why not? Did you damage the phone? They will not replace a phone that has been accidentaly damaged. And probably neither will "wear and tear" cut it. What is "normal" wear to you might look like "destruction" to Tel Cel.

Hi. I have been having this bro;em yesterday and also today when i woke up. My Verizon iPhone 4S touch screen is un responsive sometimes then it workes other times. My Sleep/WAke button also doesnt work. My phone thinks that my sleep button is always being pushed so if my touch sreen is working i can do anything becuase my phone puts it self to sleep when i unlock it. A Restore is more thorough than an update. Try to Restore with iTunes on computer. If still problem, all iPhone 4S have full warranty, make Genius Appointment and return to Apple for resolution.

Sleep/wake button works, but not when iPhone is asleep

I just upgraded from an iPhone 4S to an iPhone 5. When my phone is asleep the top wake/sleep button is unresponsive. The home button will wake the phone up, and once it's awake I can use the top button to wake/sleep the phone. But if I sleep the phone (not turn it off but just sleep it) and wait about 30 seconds, then the top button becomes unresponsive. I've tried holding the top button and that doesn't do anything either.
I do not have Applecare for the phone, nor is under warranty.
I tried the Apple top button replacement web site, but it reports that the phone isn't in the serial number range of affected phones.
Any ideas or suggestions?

If you are having issues with your iPhone's sleep/wake button not waking the phone up when it has been asleep for more than 30 seconds, you may want to try some things to troubleshoot.
First, quit all running applications and test again -
iOS: Force an app to close
Next, I would try restarting the iPhone -
Turn your iOS device off and on (restart) and reset
If the issue is still present, you may want to restore the iPhone as a new device -
iOS: How to back up your data and set up your device as a new device

My 6th generation iPod nano automatically turns off (=stops the music) when I push het sleep/wake button or when screen turns black for power saving mode. Does anyone know how to solve this ?
I have already tried resetting, connecting to PC/iTunes to check the software version, turning off/on, I don't have any inspiration anymore.

If your iPod touch unexpectedly powers off, you may want to use the steps in this article to troubleshoot -
iPhone: Hardware troubleshooting (The steps apply for the iPod touch) -
Specifically -
Will not turn on, will not turn on unless connected to power, or unexpected power off
Verify that the Sleep/Wake button functions. If it does not function, inspect it for signs of damage. If the button is damaged or is not functioning when pressed, seek service.
Check if a Liquid Contact Indicator (LCI) is activated or there are signs of corrosion. Learn about LCIsand corrosion.
Connect the iPhone to the iPhone's USB power adapter and let it charge for at least ten minutes.
After at least 30 minutes, if:
The home screen appears: The iPhone should be working. Update to the latest version of iOS if necessary. Continue charging it until it is completely charged and you see this battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen . Then unplug the phone from power. If it immediately turns off, seek service.
The low-battery image appears, even after the phone has charged for at least 20 minutes: See "iPhone displays the low-battery image and is unresponsive" symptom in this article.
Something other than the Home screen or Low Battery image appears, continue with this article for further troubleshooting steps.
If the iPhone did not turn on, reset it while connected to the iPhone USB power adapter.
If the display turns on, go to step 4.
If the display remains black, go to next step.

You should note what it states near the bottom -
Apple may restrict or limit repair to the original country of purchase.
So it is possible that you may have to return the iPhone to the United States in order to get it repaired.

Suddenly, the sleep/wake button on my iPhone 5 is almost always unresponsive. I want to avoid doing a restore if I can. In addition, my volume down button doesn't work often, either.
I swear, I'm nice to my phone! It has always had a shock-absorbing case and has never been exposed to water. Bought it in December, problems started in May. I'm annoyed.
Anyone have any solutions? I'm nowhere near an Apple Store and I need my phone for work. TIA.

My daughter tried to open a game on her Ipod touch and the screen went white and I can't get it to do ANYTHING...I've tried holding the sleep/wake button and it does NOTHING, still only a white screen.

Try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If that doesn't work, try a Restore:
From iTunes, select the iPad and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad.
There's more that you can do. Post back if none of the above solves the problem.
By the way, I always allow "push." That allows the app developer to "push" information to your device rather than waiting for you to ask for it. However, "don't allow" shouldn't cause the problem that you're experiencing.

Apple can fix it without your receipt or box. They pull the serial number from the device and determine warranty status from that. Hopefully ApplCare was registered to the product before you lost the receipt though. If not, you can go back to the point of purchase and obtain your AppleCare receipt and Apple can help attach it to the iPhone.
