Sleepbutton iphone5 doesn't work

Sleep button doesn't work on iphone 5 after 2-3 months, anyone have experience with apple care swapping the device in Germany?

Did you try restarting you iPhone? Restore?
If the problem persisits take it in to an Apple store. It is still under warranty.

    With it connected via WiFi, the printer component of the MP600R uses a Canon proprietary protocol called canonijnetwork to advertise itself on the network. The scanner component uses an Apple protocol called Bonjour. Since you were able to add the scanner then it shows that Bonjour is working and your issue is with the Canon protocol.
    One thing to note about the canonijnetwork protocol. It can take several seconds longer than Bonjour to make the printer appear. So when you click add, you will see the scanner first. And if you wait another 10 seconds, you should see the printer.
    If the printer still fails to appear, it can be due to a driver issue, as it includes this canonijnetwork module. So I would suggest that you connect the MP600R to the Mac via USB. If a driver is needed, it should be automatically downloaded v10.72.1.0 from Apple. With this USB connected printer now in Printers & Scanners, check that you can print. If you can, then disconnect the USB cable and see if you can now add the wifi connected printer.
    One final note. If the above all works for you, remember to remove the printer that was created for the USB connection. If you try to print to this, it will always give you an error as it is no longer connected to the Mac.

    Try a reset: hold down the home button along with the sleep/wake button until you see the apple, then let go. (No data loss)

    After updating to iTunes 11.1and ios7 hotspot USB doesn't work anymore, wifi and bluetooth work fine.
    In system network preferences iPhone usb connection is not detected.
    I tried to change the kext file with the Time Machine's old one but no response!!!

    Anyone has any advice? Or the problem is just the age and incompatibility of the old MacBook Pro 1,1 A1150 (Mid 2006) and the best way will be to change it into something newer?

  • Sharing pictures doesn't work anymore

    I used to be able to snap a picture, see the picture, and then on that screen, hit the picture and hit the sharing button to message it to someone (or do other things with it).
    Since the last two ios upgrades (6 and above), this feature doesn't work correctly.
    Before:
    1) Click home button
    2) Launch camera using an upswipe on the camera
    3) Take picture
    4) Click on thumbnail in lower left corner
    5) Click on picture that comes up
    6) Select outgoing arrow on bottom
    7) Select message and send pic
    After:
    1) Click home button
    2) Launch camera using an upswipe on the camera
    3) Take picture (btw, my iphone5 pics are *fuzzier* than iphone4!!)
    4) Click on thumbnail in lower left corner
    5) Click on picture that comes up
    6) Try to select outgoing arrow on bottom, but doesn't show up
    7) Click home button
           -- Either --
    8) Launch camera again from home page camera icon
    9) Click on thumbnail on lower left corner of last picture taken
    10) Select outgoing arrow on bottom that *now shows up the second time, but didn't show up the first time* [BUG]
    11) Select message and send pic
          -- OR --
    8) Launch the photos gallery from the photos icon
    9) Choose Camera roll from albums
    10) Try to figure out which picture it was from the thumbnails
    11) Select the picture thumbnail by clicking on it
    12) On the image that comes up, click on it to bring up context menu
    13) Select the outgoing arrow on bottom (the one that doesn't show up in the camera app view) [BUG]
    14) Select message and send pic
    The bottom line is, something I do several times a day, used to work great on pre-ios6 and iphone4, now really *****.  I keep waiting for this to get fixed, but apparently it's not, so I wanted to document the process.

    It should work.
    Sending any pic file format that Preview can open should be viable.
    Check that you are using port 443 in iChat Menu > Preferences > Accounts > Server Settings rather than the default port of 5190
    iChat by default logs in to the AIm servers on port 5190 ON TCP protocol
    Pics in Chat are sent on port 5190 but on UDP Protocol
    Some routers and modems do not like this dual use of the port and changing the Login port is a works around and the only port you an change.

    ssince I updated my iPhone 5s to ios8 ive had nothing but problems...
    first the the screen rotation is not working... Checked the settings and  lock is off.... The wifi is intermittent, some times it works sometimes it doesn't....
    the he iPhone is really slow now, like really labouring.... It hangs and crashes all the time.... I have to close apps down completely because they won't work from quick launch anymore.... Even writing this the phone is labouring.... It's like my old 48k spectrum.... I don't expect this from Apple and when you spend £400-500 on a phone you expect it to work and play propperly....  come on Apple you need to sort out this mess of a update.... Ios 7 was no bother......

    Same issue here... iphone5S 64GB.  It's intermittent.  Sometimes the rotation works fine, sometimes it doesn't, but most of the time it doesn't work.
    The first time I figured out it wasn't working was when all newly-taken photos and videos were showing up in portrait mode though I always hold in landscape mode when photographing.
    Rotation lock is disabled (tried toggling it on and off).  Tried recalibrating the compass on a whim, no effect (although my compass seems to always require calibration when it's launched now).
    This issue only started happening after upgrading to iOS8.  I did a reset/restore through iTunes rather than an OTA upgrade.
    UPDATE - power-cycling the phone seems to fix it temporarily.

    FaceTime has been having problems for a couple of weeks. Apples solution is to make sure both parties have IOS 7.1.1.

    You can send it to someone you know in the US to have them take it in for service or you can get on a plane and take it there yourself. You can not ship it to Apple in the US for service.

    Once again Apple released a buggy phone. Much like the iPhone5, iPhone6 has already shown issues in the connectivity department. Thousands of users have already blogged about it all over the internet, so I hope that Apple steps up to the plate and fixes the issue ASAP.
    Bluetooth DOES NOT WORK! Tested repeatedly on my 2014 Super Duty, 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland, 2014 Ford Mustang GT, 2013 Scion FR-S. The device struggled to pair on each and every vehicle. Once finally conncted the voice commands don't work, and good luck trying to answer the phone!! If you manage to (highly unlikely), the conversation is possible only through the phone, not through Bluetooth.
    Get with the program Apple. If you released a phone that was not ready for release just to compete with Samsung, LG and HTC, that says a lot about your company. The customers are not guinea pigs - If you intended to use the public as testers, you should have given all of us a considerable discount on the purchase and warned us about the potential bugs.
    Additionally the data restore from iPhone5 through both iTunes (v11.4.0.18 which is the latest one) and/or iCloud, doesn't work either. My iPhone5 was successfully updated to IOS8 and backed up on iTunes. As soon as I connected the iPhone6 and tried to restore the backup, an untrue pop up saying "iTunes cannot restore your backup because it's either corrupted or incompatible with this device" showed on my screen. I performed 5 backups of my iPhone5 through iTunes (all of them competed successfully by the way), but each time I tried to restore them on the iPhone6, I got the same error message.
    Being an IT guy I started fiddling with settings, hidden files, locked files, until I got it to work by simply checking the "encrypt backup" box in iTunes. It was a big waste of time, and it would be nice if Apple knew about these issues before they released a new phone.
    P.S. THe internet is full of blogs about this backup restore issue on iPhone6: obviously I was not the only one.

    I'm sorry you're not having a positive experience.  I set up two iPhone 6's from iPhone 5 backup's via Wifi and paired both seamlessly with our 2012 Mercedes cars without an difficulty.
    I don't know if this is your first post, but you are not writing Apple on this forum.  This is a user to user forum and you are only writing other users.  If you are not pleased, feel free to contact Apple directly via the link I've supplied.  I hope you get your issues resolved to your satisfaction.  But because you are having issues, does not mean everyone is.  I know lot's of people who now have iPhone 6.  None of them have experienced any issues pairing to their cars Bluetooth system, or setting them up from previous phone backups.

    I bought iPhone5 last week, and its already broken, had to go to the store where I bought it, then they said I had to go to Apple store, then I went to the apple store on Grandcentral, and had to wait for 3 hours, and their attitude was pretty BAD. I spend metrocard, and I took day off for this incident. AND NOW, this iPhone's power charger doesn't work! I call to Apple, and their attitude was also REALLY BAD! I DEF NEED my iPhone charger ASAP, and I REALLY WANT THEM to refound my metrocard charge to go back and forth this annoying issues!!!!!
    The Apple couster service person's name is MICHEAL OLIVER. His attitide was very very BAD!!! I told him I've been a MAC user since 1995, and had a bad experience for my 3rd MacBook ( within 6month its broken twice!), and this time is more annoying costmar service ever!!!

    I have an iPhone5 bought in late Dec 2012.
    I've noticed on rare occassions that the volume down button some times would not respond.
    Starting yesterday, the volume down button would not respond more consistently.
    Sometimes a reset would fix it, sometimes a reset network would fix it, but the problem would come back.
    Came across this thread, and pressing gently on the upper right hand corner fixed it!
    I remember seeing some video on Youtube or iFixit that shows how to replace the power button. It appears that the volume buttons and the power buttons are tied in together on the same piece of connector. I supposed taking the iphone in and out of cases may have warped or twisted the connector inside the case ever so slightly that the sensor for the down volume button got shifted.
    The down volume button works now, after doing the trick you suggested. I'll wait and see if it comes back before taking it in for warranty repair.
