Sliced Images are Broken after Converting HTML into a PDF

I am trying to create a PDF of a webpage and after Acrobat converts it, the page is broken apart in multiple pieces. I noticed that this is happening to images that are sliced. Does anyone know how to prevent this from happening?
Thanks!

Just to clarify, I only want a PDF image of the web page -no functionality of it. The equivalent of a "print-screen" of the page without the IE window/toolbar etc. I need to have it in PDF format for printing purposes.
ASP code is also appearing in the PDF and I don't want this to occur.

  • Bitmap image won't show after converting HTML file to pdf

I have a program which saves a technical report as a HTML file. I don't  have another choice as to file type to save as. This program has a  template which generates the report....and there are fields which are  filled in...some text fields, and one is a company logo. Just to be  clear the logo itself is not in the template, a holding place is there  which points to the location of the logo on my drive. This is all set up  by the program and can't be altered.
If I save the logo as a jpg, png or tiff file, the logo shows up in the  final HTML report and if I use Adobe Professional (version 7.0 on Win XP)  to create a pdf the  image also shows up - a perfect replica of the report is created in pdf,  making it convenient for printing and email.
If I save the logo as a bitmap file (which creates a higher resolution  and sharper looking logo) the logo shows up in the initial HTML  technical report, but when I convert this to pdf the file is not found,  instead it shows as a small square red box with the error "Bad file  image" or "unable to download image".
I can't understand why this would be the case as the logo is saved in  the same location whether it is jpg, png, tiff or bmp. It just seems  that the Adobe Pro doesn't know how to "find" the bitmap logo from the  HTML template.
I did try converting the HTML document to Word but it threw the  formatting out and when it was converted to pdf it cropped the page  & I wasn't able to resolve this...maybe it can be done but it is a  long way around in any case, particularly if steps then need to be taken  to correct the formatting.
At the moment the document can be printed with success from the original  format - then it's a matter of scanning the printed document in order  to email. It can't be emailed directly because of the embedded  information which is lost if then sent to the recipient's computer.  However it would be nice if the doc could be converted to pdf which  would then make it easier to transfer the file to a backup drive or for  email.  Any ideas? Thanks

Thanks for your response. Yes I did mean .bmp files.
The problem is not getting it to show in HTML - but Adobe then picking it up from there. I guess though if it is not a standard format for HTML then maybe Adobe has trouble recognising it if it is there. Also, it is possible for Adobe to convert .bmp files if they are inserted in the HTML file, but I have instead a template with the code for the location of the file rather than the graphic itself.  I don't have this problem using the other file formats and getting them into pdf...it's just that the images aren't as sharp as the bmp. I have tried various formats and resolutions so if there isn't a way I can get the bmp from the HTML file into pdf I might just have to live with printing and scanning from the original. Thanks for your input, it confirms what I was thinking. I'll leave this unanswered for now in case someone else has further information.

  • Multiple images are blocky when converting from powerpoint to PDF?

    Heres my problem:
If I have a powerpoint with ONE image (be it jpeg, gif, png, etc) they apper fine when you convert the document to PDF (via print>Print to PDF or by using the Acorbat plug in in Powerpoint).
    BUT
If I have 2 or more images in a powerpoint slide, the images appear blocky and sections of the images are missing. I tried to ungroup the photos and group the photos yet I get the same result. Anyone know how to correct this??
The images were originally created in Adobe Illustrator. There must be a setting in Illustrator or Powerpoint that is causing this problem but I cant figure it out.
    Thanks

Correction, it appears to be a problem with the CROP button in Powerpoint. I have a PNG file and it has two images (a map and a legend) on one png. When I crop it to only show ONE image (either the map or the legend) it makes it become blocky. So weird.

  • Translation from CS5 to Cloud doesn't  work correct, navi and linked images are broken.

Translation from CS5 to Cloud doesn't  work correct, <navi> and linked images are broken.
The data of CS5 was created at another PC. I installed Cloud version into two different PC. One has had the site data since dreamweaver CS5 and it works correct in Cloud version. Another PC got the site data from remote server and it doesn't work correct. <navi> and linked image are broken.

Another PC got the site data from remote server and it doesn't work correct. <navi> and linked image are broken.
This implies your site is not properly defined in DW.  Go to Site > Manage Sites.
Or simply go to your other installation of DW and export the site definition file from Manage Sites.
Save it to a flash stick or other removable drive.  Then import the STE file into your 2nd installation of  DW.

  • Hello, I have includes a Web link in an image. When I convert the document in PDF, the link remains inactive. Could use me? Thank you.

    Hello,
I have includes a Web link in an image.
When I convert the document in PDF, the link remains inactive. Could use me?
    Thank you.

No version of Pages will allow images to be links. We always got around this by bracketting the image with text and making the link in that.
Pages 5 has lost the ability to have cross links in pdfs and seems to have a bug that disables any links after the first page.

  • After converting a file to *.pdf

After converting a file to *.pdf and saving it, how do you set the program to open this file automatically?

No, I want  the file to open automatically, not to start the program on starting the computer. That way, I do not have to open the program, and open the file from the location just saved. Applies for any version of Adobe.

  • Word macros are disabled after converting to a PDF document.

We work with Word templates that contain macros.
After you convert a Word document into a PDF document, the macros of the attached template are disabled.
The conversion takes place via the Adobe Acrobat icons.
    Used Products:
    - Windows7
    - With Office 2007 SP2
    - Adobe Acrobat 9.3.3 Pro
The described problem only occurs in Word.  Outlook, Excel and Power Point are not affected.
Thank you for your time and help

    Hi Buster,
The error message you were receiving occurs when you try to convert a dynamic PDF file created with Adobe LiveCycle Designer.  This file is usually already a fillable form.  Unfortunately there is no workaround available for converting documents like this within the ExportPDF service.
    I'm sorry for the inconvenience.
Please let me know if you have any questions or if I can be of further assistance.

  • Images are broken and duplicate pages aren't loading?

    Hello,
This is probably a really noobish problem. I've been working happily on Dreamweaver CS3 all day and had no problems.
Just gone to make a new html page and when copying over AP Divs and containers that hold images the images end up broken, despite the location not changing at all. My other pages holding the same images do not show broken links, either. When I replace the image with itself, it works, however I have a lot of images and they dont always click into the exact place I want them, hence copy/pasting in the first place. The worst part is until I made this page it wasn't broken for everything else I was working on!!
I'm having to duplicate pages instead, which is really not helpful.
I am not trained in coding, I am a designer, and I want to keep this site as simple as possible as I have to manage it all. My knowledge is limited to modest amounts of html and CSS.
    Thank you!!
Below: What the page looks like, highlighting the top div and copying it to the new page, where I paste it and it becomes broken.

    Ditto,
As you have created a brand new file from scratch and not saved it yet, the relative links from the rest of the site will not work. You need to save the file in the same location as the other HTML files. You should also have your site defined in Dreamweaver which will help keep you right.
As a side note, you will find it much easier to save over a previous file and just rename. That way you don't need to keep re-linking files etc.

  • INDesgin image links broken after saving file across systems

    Hi
We have a scenario involving 3 components:
    1. Linux file server running both SMB and AFP (sharing the same directory thru both protocols)
    2. MacOS 10.5 (Leopard) with INDesign CS3 connecting to the Linux server thru AFP
    3. Windows 2003 server running INDesign CS3 connecting to the Linux server thru SMB (or NFS)
    The scenario:
    1. We create an INDD document and link an image to the AFP share (on the linux)
    2. On the windows 2003 server we open the same document from the SMB share (on the linux) - no error/broken links message is received.
    3. We save the document with a irrelevant to images change, (eg. Adding a text block) to the SMB share
    Here is the problem:
    4. We open the document on the MacOS and receive "Broken links" message atlhough when you look at the path of the image you see the correct AFP path (needless to mention the path is mounted on the MacOS properly and the images are fully accessible)
What can we do, so we will not receive a broken links popup on step #4 of the scenario?
    Thanks

No answers, but a few questions:
Just to be clear, by "broken" you mean missing, not in need of updating, right?
What version of netatalk are you using on the Linux box? Does it implement AFP 3?
What version of InDesign CS3 are you using? Is it fully patched to the last public version (5.0.4.682) or newer?
Are there any potentially problematic characters (e.g., slashes, backslashes, unicode characters, etc.) in the file names or the directories in the full paths?
If you make note of the full path on the Mac when the document is first created, and then compare it very carefully with the same path when you re-open it and get the broken links messages, can you detect any differences? It might also be interesting to place one of the same "missing" images in the document again once you've re-opened it on the Mac, and compare the two paths...

  • Converting HTML into PDF

    Hello ABAP Experts,
I have a request to convert a HTML Response (FM: HTTP2_GET) into a PDF Document.
Has any body an idea how to handle that.
Thank you very much for you answers.
    Kind regards
    Axel

The easiest way to convert web pages/sites into PDF is with Acrobat! Important: this is Acrobat (costs a few dollars) and not Acrobat Reader!
Acrobat has a web capture tool. With the older version I tested there was some minor problems.
    (1) It is not recognized as a browser we support. You will have to knock out the browser checking for this to work. Look at the cl_htmlb_content->runtime_validation. The last case statement. Modify your system to temporarily comment this out. (Do not forget to place it back!).
    (2) The older version I tested with had problems to convert complex pages into PDF. The new rendering we use is to browser specific. Your milage might vary.
Alternative could be just to "print" the page from the browser into a PDFWriter (kind of printer driver that comes with Acrobat). This actually worked very well.
Alternative is just to make screenshots into word document and convert this into PDF.
    > Please help me ..
With this, I think we have now helped you. In return, you can help us with a nice append (or better a small weblog) about the "huge project that was a challange". These war stories shared by the fire side makes for interesting reading, and I am sure other people would also be interested in seeing what you achieved. Looking forward to it.

  • OSX Lion jpeg 'preview' images are blurry after altering them

When i edit a photograph in photoshop (cs3/cs4 etc, it doesnt matter which version) the preview of that image goes blurry after its saved. The image is the full res still and hasnt lost any quality but when i have the icons that are of a large size they appear really blurry and 'low-res'
I know its a small gripe but it makes things difficult as a photographer when im trying to organise images that perhaps look similar or i want to see as a whole set.

Hello, sorry, I don't know the cure for this, but as a photographer you might have a look at Tr-Catalog, where you can choose the size thumbnail/icon/detail...

  • How to convert HTML into XML

I know I can parse XML into some HTML, but is there any tools or methods existed to parse HTML into XML?
I have a not well-formed HTML with a lot data fields, including a lot not closed tags. This HTML is generated by some XML(as I can see), but I can't find a way to reform it into a XML, and eventually stored the data into another database.
Anyone can help me? I appreciate!
