I see this subject mentioned before but don't see any resolutions......can anybody tell me why I would be getting a "Missing Prompts" error message when I try to create a dimension?
One reply did say that syntax is missing in the measure 'where clause' of the universe (created in Designer).......can anybody give me an example of a 'where clause' that has the proper syntax?
the end result I need is to create a sliced metric that I can drill down each (quarter) and see the total (charges) per department.... but I can't get the dimension to work......... the sliced metric to work.........and therefore can't get the drilldown feature on the pie chart to work.............any information on whether this is possible or how to do it would be greatly appreciated.

and then you should create a analytic. take care...

I have a sliced metric for a actual say X with the sliced dimensions A,B and C. This is an additive metric, thus A + B + C rolls up into the global slice. I have used the CI_PROBE universe to take the aggregated values of X to determine the average value say Y on a 7 day rolling basis for each day for each slice of X (A,B,C) in so to create a means of having thresholds based on these values. The issue is that these measures do not roll up as they are averages.... Does anyone know a better way of creating this scenario without having the global slice rolled up incorrectly. Hi
I am new to creating analytics in BO. I am trying to create an interactive metric ternd that is sliced by region.
Questions/Problems that I have.
1. When I select interactive Metric Trends I get a drop down under the select data section that is grayed out and say Universe Qery. My question is how do I create a Universe Query?
2. When I define a query I select a Universe that I created in Designer that has three objects. Region, Date, Sales. I do not see where I tell the metric to slice by Region?
For Dimension for X-axis and slider I select Date. I have tried to add the Region to Analytic Filter and nothing happens
When I get the results metric I only see Sales by date. No Metric Name, No Metric Value, No Metric Trend.
No Regions
Can someone point me in the correct direction as to how to set these up.Hi David,
Have you created the metric? or do you have any metrics created yet? - this may the reason why you it is greyed out or you can not see any other options.
Basic steps... (you can refer to the product documentation for details)
Create the metric universe
Import the universe to DM
Created the Slice (Dimension) in DM
Created the sliced metric (using the measure from the universe and slice created above)
Run the metric to load data
Use it in the analytics.

I am creating a Sliced Metric based on some dimension define in setup.
While defining dimension in setup i found two things
1)object for dimension name
2)object for dimension code
can anyone please tell me the significance of each with respect to created dimension or metric based on that dimension or on the result set.
one thing more i am not able to refresh the sliced metric as my calendar start from 5 april 2007 and i am refreshing the metric on 6 april 2007 but then also it is not able to refresh it can please anyone tell me what can be the possible reason for that or where i am getting wrong with.Post Author: jezbraker

use deski or webi and build a query using the meausre (and if applicable) filter object from the metric universe your using to build your metrics. chances are this will show you why your metric is generating invalid SQL based on your universe design.if this doesnt help you may also want to try turning the trace file on for the metric engine and hitting refresh again - this should also help highlight where the problem is. -
Performance Manager slices ans chart thermometer
i have a analytic with slices, and that the user can choose navigation between slices, more in my chart thermometer the slider does not change, how do i solve this problem?

Your question is not quite clear, but I presume you are saying analytic A (e.g Spedometer) you have a sliced metric with several periods... you can select a slice and use the slider to move through the periods on that slice. Then you have analytic B i.e the thermometer, and you want to do the same, but you can select the slices, but not move through the periods with the slider?????
Check that the thermometer analytic is using the sliced metric, and not a regular metric. Also check that the periods have not been restricted in the properties of the analytic.
You can also test if it is the analytic itself giving the problem by changing the type of display i.e robot, thermometer, spedo in the same analytic's properties..

Weird "Trend" metric calculation in Tabular KPI
Hi Experts ,
We have a tabular model in which we started designing the KPI to show Actual metric value vs its Target comparison by an Status indicator to know how good the metric has performed. In the KPI calculation window of the tabular model , there are only
place holders to calculate Value , Status & Target but not for “Trend” . Even though we didn’t code anything specific for “Trend” calculation , Under the newly created KPI we see the “Trend” along with Value , Goal & Status . But the “Trend”
is behaving weirdly in the Tabular KPI, The trend indicator is being showed for every dimension attribute that is sliced with the KPI irrespective of whether it has Metric value or not. I searched many websites to understand how this “Trend” is
being calculated in a KPI , but none of them are able to throw some light on the “Trend” calculation. In this kind of scenario please suggest me a way to circumvent this issue.
How to hide the “Trend” indicator from the newly created KPI, as this I think we cannot define “Trend” calculation in tabular as in that of Multidimensional Cubes

According to your description, since you haven't specified any expression for Trend calculation, you want to hide the Trend option. Right?
In Analysis Services Tabular, Value, Goal Status and Trend in KPI are based on the Base Value, Target Value and Status Threshold. No matter you specify a Trend Expression or not, the Trend box is always displayed in the KPI pane. And it will do the
calculation automatically. This is feature by design. There's no way to edit or modify it. So your requirement can't be achieved currently.

Can not refresh the metrics in schedular

Hi,
When I refresh the metric using schedular, the metric is not refreshed , nor schedular return any error. But when checked in metrics proparties, the last refresh date is not changed, niether the values are updated.
Whe I try to refresh the metric manual, the values are refresh.
Please help me to troubleshoot the problem of refreshing metric through schedular.

Scheduler is pretty horrid for refreshing metrics.Better of to use the Rules engine and create a rule thats based on a schedule that based on condition (1=1 works well ) then refreshes metircs.troubleshooting is best done with the trace options in setup/parameters.there are a few other ways or seeing what the schedulers up to - but id stick to rules if i were you. -
Campaign Metrics - # Bounces Switched?

We have sent out several campaigns and are now reporting on them.
The metrics seem to be mixed up on the subject area.
The campaign was sent out 2/3/2011
The receipent data on the campaign object shows delivery status of 8 hard bounces and 1 soft bounce as of 2/7/2011
The dates are important since the report is 24 hours delayed......
When we run our report using metrics from the Campaign Response History subject area - no formulas, just pulling Metrics."# of Soft Bounces and Metrics."# of Hard Bounces"
the results are SWITCHED. I have tried to change teh aggregation rule from default to sum, just to check. No pivot tables are being used...just straight values.
Does anyone know if this is really a bug or what else might be happening??

How to change default thresholds for some metrics of all targets.

We have a lot of servers which have to work hard.
So, our OEM very often generates messages like these:
"EM Alert: Critical:dbsora90.tsb.kz - CPU Utilization is 99.95%, crossed warning (80) or critical (95) threshold."
"EM Alert: Critical:dbsora94.tsb.kz - Disk Device c8t60A9800043346C384C344A4A63516D6Ad0(ssd4) is 99.7% busy."
"EM Alert: Critical:dbsora94.tsb.kz - CPU Load (Run Queue Length averaged over 5 minutes) is 20.78, crossed warning (10) or critical (20) threshold."
I need to change default tresholds for mentioned metrics but I can't their defenition in SYSMAN.MGMT_*-tables or suitable settings in OEM GUI.
And I have no time to edit treshholds manually for each target. )Modification of Metric Thresholds (as this is what you are referring to), should be done using the Metrics and Policy Settings link (to be found in the Target Home page).
Don't mess around with the SYSMAN tables!
Best thing to do here is to start using Monitoring Templates for this.

if you want to differentiate the Lifnr then you need to first
sort your itab on lifnr and werks
then
you can loop at itab and using control break statements
either you can display or it transfer it in to another internal table
i.e that means
your new internal table will look as
lifnr plant Material
1100 1000 101-200
101-300
1122 1000 301-324
302-234
or
you can find out Material which is with multiple vendors
in the same way as above
You can always display them in ALV List
The ALV function can display them appropriately if you want to display
or
if you want to transfer it for processing then you have to use
control break statements

I already made the report, but I can´t change the size of the graphic (for a better presentation on my report)....
Do you know how can I change the size of the report?
I think that I´m using a "metric" so for that reason I Can´t change the size ... :(I am currently having a problem with this report and drilldown to KSB1, the cost centers selected int S_ALR_87013611 are not transferring to KSB1 and thus all the cost centers come up in the call to KSB1, are you experiencing this problem? I am on V4.7

Need help in creating a metric Days Late
Due Date and Pay Date are seperate dimensions with their respective ID's in the Fact_Details. Now i need to create a metric Days_Late=(Due_Date - Pay_Date).
My question is whether i have to create this metric using the Logical Table Source editor in the Data Type Tab or by using 'Use existing logical coumns as the source' in the general tab.
If i use the editor in the general tab then i can directly use the two dates from the dimensions. If i use the logical table source editor in the data type tab then i have to use the date Id's which are in the number format with dates concatenated with the company number id's.
Can anyone suggest me what to do. I would appreciate any help.

Tiling or slicing large images in tables? Completely outdated?
I'm working through the XHTML tutorials on Lynda.com
The instructor does a demo of slicing a large image with sections that have animated .gifs. He slices the static portions and slices the animated portions and then combines them in a 3 slice x 3 slice table.
He says "I still prefer to do this with tables, since it's what it was designed for."
I know tables are outdated, but I'm not sure if it's in all respects. Like if I was going to do a data table, I certainly would use tables...
Im not sure when this video was made, but is it still in practice and a good practice?
He then shows a similar demo of how to combine slices using CSS. Is this outdated too? Are people still slicing large images?Unlike print design where everything is static and unchanging, web pages need to be flexible and web accessible to accommodate all users, displays and devices.
Image slices have their plusses and minuses. Occasionally, you may need them to create a flexible container that resizes to content.

Click Thru Destination from Third Part Website Metrics
Hi,
I was interested if anyone has successfully seen metrics for click thru destinations using web advertisements. I can create the campaign schedule (Internet Advertisement) and create the content and get the tracking URL. However, after clicking on the link (tracking url) and viewing the Report in the Campaign Workbench for the campaign schedule nothing appears. I am not sure if this is a bug or not. I am running 11.5.10.2 (haven't applied any marketing patches).
