Slide being deleted when I click show typing

Using Captive 4, I've copied and pasted a slide, removed the audio from the original slide, then when I
click show typing in order to hide typing, it deletes the entire slide.
Anybody else have this problem? It took me forever to figure out what was going on.

Can you please clear CP4 preferences on your machine and check if it solves the problem?
CP 4 preferences are under - C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\Adobe\Adobe Captivate.
Here you see a file named captivate_v40.dat. Please close CP4 and delete this file.
After deletion, launch your project and try to reproduce the issue. If the issue still occurs, then please send us your project so that we could investigate.

Actually, Reader SHOULD keep showing documents that no longer exist, I disagree. It's no big deal, and people will quickly realise why they can't open the file. They open more files, the old ones move off.
The REASON why it should not check is that checking whether a file exists can take a long time when things aren't good. For instance if a file server goes down, or a memory card is unplugged. That in turn would mean delays opening the File menu, and I've seen some software that can sit there for several minutes. That would really give people something of which to complain...

The original photstream instructions, and the current photostream information page on the apple website, say that photos on your pc or mac computer that have been synced by photostream are permanent but the latest updatge seems to have changed that so when items are deleted from any device they are deleted from all devices, including images that have gotten older and have rolled out of photostream on my iphone. I trusted photostream to save these images on my computer and now they appear to be gone. Can I turn off the option of deleting photostream images from my computer or do I need to copy these images to another folder to save them from being deleted when they are deleted from the device.

Downloads being deleted when Firefox closes

Since the latest update of Firefox my latest downloads are being deleted when I exit the browser. What I have to do to get around this problem is to copy the downloaded files and past them elsewhere before I close the browser. I have uninstalled Firefox and reinstalled it again but the problem still persists. ANy help would be appreciated as its very annoying.

I'm not sure why you wrote above: Cookies - OFF if you were clearing cookies.
Clearing cookies that way also clears cookies (including Flash local storage), so I would have suggest that if cookies were included in that list.
That is why I posted to check in Safe mode because that would be another possibility.
To summarize:
In case you are using "Clear history when Firefox closes":
*do not clear Cookies
*do not clear Site Preferences
Clearing cookies will remove all specified (selected) cookies including cookies that have an allow exception.
*Tools > Options > Privacy: History: [X] Clear history when Firefox closes > Settings

Note that clearing "Site Preferences" clears all exceptions for cookies, images, pop-up windows, software installation, and passwords.
Let all cookies expire when you close Firefox.
* Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Keep until": "I close Firefox"
Make an Allow exception for the ones that you want to keep.
* Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Exceptions"

I think I was syncing... I just flipped that switch to the right and it "turned on calendar" but when I went to my calendar everything was gone.
When I go back now it doesn't do anything.

Window blank when I click "Show Package Contents" in Pictures folder

Long story short, I have two iPhoto libraries - one on an old laptop and one on a new MacBook Air (10.6.4). I have been trying to copy the old iPhoto library from the old laptop to the new laptop (so that I would be able to access both libraries on the new laptop by holding down option when starting iPhoto and selecting one or the other).
I copied the old iPhoto library into the "Pictures" folder on the new laptop. Then I did some ill-advised tidying up (I know, I know, I'm an idiot) in that "Pictures" folder. As I understand it, inside "Pictures", there should be an "iPhoto Library" folder but that has now gone. In fact, there is nothing in "Pictures" at all. When I right click on "Pictures" and select ""Show Package Contents" I get a blank window.
I have the two iPhoto libraries (old and new) elsewhere on my hard drive - in a folder I created in the home directory ("Pictures 2" > "iPhoto Library"). iPhoto can read the two libraries from there no problem. But I cannot drag and drop the libraries into the "Pictures" folder, where they should be, because I get an error message: "You can’t open the application “Pictures” because it may be damaged or incomplete". When I click on "Pictures", it doesn't open in Finder but iPhoto opens up showing whatever library I used last.
Someone on the iPhoto forum suggested that I post this problem here: "That sounds very like the Pictures Folder has had it's Execute bit set and the Mac now thinks it's an application. The solution to this is a trip to the Terminal. Post this here: http://discussions.apple.com/forum.jspa?forumID=1339 and someone will give you the Terminal commands to fix that." So I'm hoping that someone here can help me out!

I'm having the same exact problem. I have an older macbook pro and I was trying to copy the iphoto library to my new imac. I was stupidly messing around with the pictures folder on the comp when things weren't migrating correctly, then it suddenly changed from a folder to a package and I got the same error when I tried to delete. Music being deleted when i plug shuffle to PC

Please tell me there is a way to disable my ipod from having its music deleted when i plug it into my pc with an empty music library. I'll add music to my ipod, then disconnect it. If i delete the music i added to my ipod from my itunes library, then connect the ipod again, my upod gets updated and the music is deleted. Why does this happen?

Simply put... because that's the way it works.
Should you just want to charge the Shuffle witout opening iTunes, UNcheck "Open iTunes..." in the Settings tab in iTunes, being sure to click on "Apply".

Website picture sizes are not being cached when I click on their properties

Since updating to Firefox 18 on my wife's laptop when she clicks on "View image info" the size is shown as "unknown (not cached)". When I try on my desktop the Kb of pictures are showing up as normal. The only difference between the two is the desktop is 32 bit and the laptop is 64 bit.

Is the cache enabled and working on that computer if you check that on the <b>about:cache</b> page?
Also make sure that you do not run Firefox in (permanent) Private Browsing mode.

Trackstarts are being deleted when cutting a region?

Right now I'm working on a live album and it's the first time I'm working with WaveBurner. I've got several wave files of a gig which I'd like to burn onto a CD.
Everytime when I cut a region (in order to get rid of seconds of crowd noise between two songs which I don't want on the album) my track starting points are being deleted.
I think I'm doing something wrong but I can't find why... I'm working with WaveBurner 1.6.

I think I've already found the problem myself:
For some reason, the track start markers are connected to the 3rd region in the edit window. The problem with this is that (for instance) the first track start marker has a starting point of -37:14 (negative, relative to the starting point of the 3rd region.

Signature field is being deleted when pdf is uploaded - what can I do?

I was contacted by another administrator who was having trouble uploading the latest version of a pdf form online. Everything looks great in Adobe Acrobat X and Reader, but when we put the document on our website, the signature fields are being deleted, and the tab order changes.
When users want to look at the document, they must download it, so it's not in the browser when this happens (I know this can make a difference). Signatures are allowed, and field forns are allowed on this pdf. Is there some other setting that could be messing things up?

Does this happen when the Adobe plugin is used in the browser, or a
different one? My guess is it's the internal PDF plugin of the browser used
(Firefox, Chrome and Safari have one), which is probably causing this
behaivour.

I use master page elements all the time and my contents pages do have a text frame on the Master page, so perhaps it is such a master page element. I'm used to working with master page elements that you need to Ctrl-click on so you can edit the content - for my page titles for instance - and smart text reflow is on (Add to end of story).
When I click on the overset text icon on the text frame I am in text mode (t) but I use Ctrl to click the overset text, which gives me the reflow icon. It's only the first supplementary page I have to create, thereafter iD creates all the remaining pages (there are 14 pages of contents in one of the books, the main one I'm experimenting on).

Problems w/ photos being deleted when downloading

Hello, can anyone tell me why my photos that have already been downloaded on my ipod are deleted when I download new photos. This happens every time I go to download new photos to the ipod. Is there a setting I'm missing somewhere? I download my photos manually. I can't seem to find an anwser to this anywhere. Please help. Thanks

I have heard of this happening, but I never saw a resolution. Sorry.
The only thing I may could suggest is moving the contents of your photo folder into a folder temporarily. Leave that photo folder that your iPod syncs with empty. Have your iPod sync and clear all of the photos off. Disconnect. Then move those photos back into that folder. Reconnect and have it sync. If you have already tried that, then I'm sorry I couldn't help anymore.

How do I keep my email contacts from being deleted when I delete a phone contact?

Please HELP!! I am a new iphone user and I am not understanding all this "icloud" stuff. I have "Contacts" turned off in my phone's icloud settings and on my computer's icloud settings. Every time I add or delete a contact in my phone, the same changes are made in my email contacts. There are certain contacts I need in my email that I don't need in my phone. Also, if I have "Find My Iphone" turned on, do I still need an app for it to work and is it true that if a person's phone is lost or stolen it can't be tracked if someone turns off "Find My Iphone" (if a restrictions passcode has not been set up) in the icloud settings?
