Slide duration too short to read long captions

Newbie here. iWeb 1.1.2. How can I change the length of time for each slide? Also can I force a return on captions that run the width of screen?

UC560 CUE not working--gives error "your recording is too short, record a longer message"

I have a UC560 running Unity Express 8.0.3 that is having voicemail issues. After a CUE reload, if a call goes to voicemail the caller gets a message saying "your recording is too short, record a longer message"; at this moment, an error shows up in the CUE session saying "localhost postgres: voicemail aesop [local] idle in transaction: CRASH sql sql sql PANIC: failed to add item to the right sibling for "pg_largeobject_loid_pn_index". After this error appears, any calls forwarded to voicemail just ring until they eventually disconnect.
I have confirmed that we are not exceeding maximum storage.
Is this a corrupt database? Would resetting the CUE to factory defaults help?

Compressor is exporting clips that are too short in duration

Hi,
I am sending clips via FCP 7 into Compressor 3.5.
The problem is that the outputted clips are too short in duration.
Has anyone else had this problem?
I need to fix it quick!

Hi, welcome to the forums.
It might be possible that you have set an IN and/or OUT point somewhere.
Double check and make sure that in FCP or Compressor Preview window you
do not have IN/OUT set on a selection of clips.

Apple Watch band is too short for me

I've checked out size of band for Apple Watch and all of these model are too short for me. Even Classic Buckle that is the longest type of band in all family is still not fit. My wrist size is 230mm. Feel so sad...... Hope Apple will made longer band size in the next gen.

Let me try this again. (This is for a stainless 38).
I saw the specs on the band. I tried to use a tape measure to determine if it would fit, and I should have had help as that is hard to do alone. But is seemed alright, and I ordered the watch.
I am a watch junkie. I have never had a problem like this. You come to expect a certain "standard" when you buy a watch, and ALL of my watches have a longer
strap, and I guess (Shame on me) I assumed so would the Apple Watch.
The band fits, so to speak, but the part that is left after you pass it though the buckle, is not long enough, and the band keeper-loop thingey does not have enough band to keep it in place. Therefore you are constantly having to slide the loop back over it to keep it in place.
I could send it back, but you might imagine how I feel about that. I made sure I got mine on the 24th because I stayed up and ordered it right after midnight on the 10th. I really wanted the watch.

DVI to VGA adapter Isn't it too short

I bought a MB Pro and I wanted to use the DVI to VGA adapter but it's too short, is there a longer one or is this it?

If it has holes that pins should be stuck into, then http://www.microcenter.com/singleproduct_results.phtml?productid=0201735 is a male-to-male. Make sure you double check the photos against your adapter and your TV before you buy. Also try your local electronics or computer store.

Slide duration

Hello - For some reason, I am not able to change the slide duration. The slide is currently 67 seconds. I try changing the slide duration in the properties panel - nothing. I try moving the playhead. It just doesn't every change from 67 seconds. any ideas? (PS - the slide has audio, but the audio is only 49 seconds long - I want to cut the slide length so it ends when the audio ends.

What objects are on the slide? Normally when you are unable to adjust slide duration it is because you have an object on the slide that is timed such that you cannot make the slide shorter.
Bottom line here is to check duration of objects on the slide.

How to access "Display Time" / Slide Duration variable?

I'm using Adobe Captivate 4, and I'm trying to programmatically access the "Display Time" for the current slide (ie: the slide duration).
How do I do that? I've looked through all the system variables in the actions dialog but to no avail.

I retried it this morning and it works for me. Here are some pointers:
I think it's a coincidence if CP hung when inserting the animation. It never did for me and I inserted it before and after. It's a possibility but I doubt.
Make sure that slide1Duration is written with a lowercase "s" and a capital "D". I noticed that you wrote it with a capital "S".
It works in TC and RollOver TC but it's not working with the click box captions. However, I could not get a standard variable like $$CaptivateVersion$$ to appear in the CB caption either.
I really think that your issue lies with the capital "S". Give it a try.
Finally, I'm not a good person to recommend books. I have learned AS2 and AS3 just from the Adobe help file. I never read a book or tutorial beside the help. Also, my background being a s/w developer, catching up with AS3 was not that much of an issue since I understand all the OO (Object Oriented) concepts. If you ever have questions about AS3, let me know and I'll try to help you out.

Serial Number is TOO short to Enter???

I just bought CS6 Photoshop Extended Student/Teacher Edition because I didn't want to pay for the newer CC version. So I've done all the forms and sent them away. I've received an email that said ok that I am a student and that I can have it, all good so far. So I've entered some stuff they sent me from the email and its started downloading. I stayed well past 12am waiting for this to finish downloading presuming that as soon I left the page there would be a symbol that said Photoshop CS6, of course it didn't and I was too tired at that point to start looking so I left it, its now been a week later and I've noticed something on the home screen and I have gone into it, following all the steps its given me, it wants a serial number. That's fine I still have that, BUT its too short to enter, its wants another set of numbers entered that I don't have. I have looked at all the help questions on here saying that if I received a card it should be on the back with 19 numbers, I have counted and there are 19. So now I am confused on whether the card is the right one or are the numbers they gave in the email the ones I should enter, and if they are well I don't posses them anymore cause I deleted the email thinking I wouldn't need it anymore (stupid idea). So what should I do????

Serial numbers are normally longer than that - I believe 24 is the right number. So whatever you were trying to use must have been something else. If you got rid of the email that was likely you ticket to getting the serial number you needed. At this point you will have to contact Adobe Support directly to see what can be done to get you the right information.

Turn Off Slide Duration Web Gallery Output

I am using CS5 Bridge, I would like to turn off the slide duration feature on the web gallery output. The box requires a value.
If the product will only produce web gallery output with a slide duration is there a way to hack the html output and remove it manually?
What is your opinion of installing the legacy web gallery plug in.

You can temporarily disconnect from the internet, unplug the modem to computer cable. If you're wirelessly connected then turn off the Airport on the Mac, not the base station.

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

Aux cable for Mini Cooper too short for Iphone.

Just purchased a Mini Cooper and the AUX cord that connects the Iphone to the Bluetooth is too short to reach my vehicial mount. I need a longer cord or an extention. Anyone have any ideas?

You said it was an aux cable. nothing you said indicated it was proprietary in any way. If it is not an aux cable, but a dock cable, those are usually proprietary to the auto manufacturer. If they don't have anything, try e-bay, but beware the cheap chinese junk out there.

Clips too short for transistions?

i am adding images to my movie from the photos tab and when i add a transistion between them, it says clip too short for transistions. now why is that? i added transistions between other images in the beginning, so why is it giving me problems right now?

Well then how come when i click apply on the ken burns setting for the picture, it shows 9:01, sometimes 10:01, then i add the transistion, and it says too small.. heres the new thing that just happened, i added a reflection theme and added an image in the drop zone.. now when i add a transistion right after it to a clip that shows 10:12, it says the previous clip must have a duration of 9:01. the theme itself shows 7:01.. so how do i change the duration of the theme?

My nouveau driver file is too short? [Solved]

Yesterday I had this error when I was starting Xorg and it said my file was too short in the Xorg.0.log. I changed the device driver in my xorg.conf to "nouveau". (I do have a NVDIA card and nouveau is installed.)
I have this youtube video to document the error. (It still doesn't work but I changed the device driver to "fbdev")

I had to pacman -Scc and then when I did "pacman -S {,lib32-}nouveau-dri xf86-video-nouveau" it said that a whole bunch of files existed in the filesystem (although when I did pacman -R and the packages it kept insisting I did not download those packages) so I ended up just removing the files manually with rm. I then installed the packages and things seem fine now. I'm going to reboot.
EDIT: IT WORKED! I had to generate a new Xorg.conf, and then I just changed some things, and it worked!

Slide size too large when played via .htm file or in ELM

I have several modules that play perfectly fine from a computer or over the internet if you use the .swf file to launch them. The size of the slide automatically resizes to fit the launched browser window. However, if I try to open the file through the .htm file (as apparently our ELM does) the size of the slides is too large to fit within the browser window. Resizing the window doesn't help. With any module sized greater than 800 x 600, you cannot view the entire slide in the browser window. The bottom and right sides of the slide are cut completely off. Is there a fix for this, short of rescaling and redoing the entire module? The modules have been uploaded to our ELM, but the player controls are completely cut off by the restricted window size so you cannot advance the training.

I agree with BaseballBirch. The window size should be controllable in your Learning Management System or Content Management System (whatever your ELM is).
Most LMSs have the option to launch your content as a sub window of their player window, which has navigation links to enable users to launch each separate module. This option may mean that the user's overall screen resolution is insufficient to accommodate the entire interface. But LMSs usually also have another option that allows your Captivate content to be launched in a separate window. If so, this is usually the better way to go as it gives you more control over the size of the window.
One thing that LMSs differ in however is the way they calculate the size of this window. For some, you just enter the size of your Captivate movie stage and the LMS wraps the player window around these dimensions. In other LMSs you need to do some trial and error to work out what figures to enter into the LMS controls for height and width of the window because they include browser "chrome" and the dimensions of the window title bar and status bar. So you may have to add 50 or more pixels to height and 10 or more pixels to width to avoid cropping off your content.
You will need to use the HTM to launch the content. LInking to the SWF may cause some functionality in Captivate content to fail.

Multiple 30" Cinema Displays, cable length too short

I have two 23" Cinema Displays, and they work great! Power adapters have long clean leads and can put them away from my G5 and place the displays where I want. Then I bought a 30" Cinema Display to try in prep for a "Nehalem" machine. I discovered that the power adapter has to be 6 inches away from the back of the computer and the monitor cable is SHORT. I want to use two 30" displays, but the cables are too SHORT and I don't want those two white bricks (power adapters) behind a new Nehalem. Apple says you can run up to eight 30" displays, with the necessary video cards, but no mention how to reach the second display let alone the 8th display!! Does Apple have cables in a male-female configuration? I have looked at Gefen.com and their extensions are Male-Male for the Apple Combo Extension Cables for dual link (30"). I could say demeaning things right now, but I won't.

Thank you for the quick reply, I can place the power adapter where I want with your solution. You would have posted if you knew about an extension with an "elegant breakout for connection to DVI, USB and FireWire ports" but I will still ask if you know of that kind also so that all monitors have USB and FireWire.
