Slide function won't work

I tried to turn off my iPad yesterday and a white box circled the 'slide to turn off'. When I tried to open it, everything I touched had the white box, but no function would work. HELP!!

Try to reset your device:
Device Reset (won't affect settings/data/music/apps/etc)
1. Press and hold (& continue to hold) BOTH the Sleep/Wake button & the Home button.
2. Continue to hold BOTH (ignoring any other messages that may show) until you see the Apple logo on the screen.
3. Release BOTH buttons when you see the Apple logo and allow the device to boot normally.

Wacom Intuos Tablet Touch Function Won't Work On Mac OS X

Hi there,
I recently purshased a Wacom Intos pen & touch tablet, model CTH-480. But the touch function won't work.
I've done the following, but it still won't work:
1. Re-install the driver to the latest. (Driver Driver 6.3.8-2 from http://us.wacom.com/en/support/drivers/)
2. Turned on the switch on the tablet. Whenever I touch the tablet, the blue signal light at the top-right corner will be on.
3. In the app named "Wacom Desktop Center", the "Touch Settings" shows "Touch On". So the software is configured well.
4. In the "System Preferences" --> "Walcom Tablets", the "Touch Options" is available and is able to configure. There's no option there which saya "Enable Touch Input" as seen in some tutorials online.
The other functions are perfect. I can use the pen, I can set custom functions to all buttons on the tablet.
Someone meet similar problems before? I sincerely appreciate your help!

I had the same exact problem. No matter what I did, tablet LED lights and diagnostic testing mode indicated touch sensors working but no corresponding screen functions. This included removing the app/plist installation through CleanMyMac 2 and a subsequent reinstall. You may have fixed your problem by now but Wacom customer support sent me this advice within a day and it worked for me on first try. Touch gesture and pen functions seem to work equally well now.
Key is to use the uninstall utility within the Wacom app itself.
Thank you for contacting Wacom Customer Care. The problem that you received maybe cause by a corrupted driver file. While you may have already reinstalled the driver, please follow these specific instructions:
Open your Applications folder and locate any Tablet or Wacom Tablet folders you have
Use the Utility in each of these folders and click ‘Remove’ under ‘Tablet Software’
Once the software is removed, restart the computer
Once this is complete, download and install the latest 6.38 driver from: (Current as of Aug 2014)

As always, make sure your tablet is connected directly to your computer. Avoid using USB hubs, keyboard/monitor ports, or docking stations with the tablets, as they can cause inconsistent behavior.

Shuffle Function won't work

I plugged my iPod mini into another computer, this loaded all the songs on their iTunes on to my iPod. After reloading all my songs my shuffle function won't work and all songs play in order. I have reset my iPod but this has not worked. Any ideas?

Try this.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

Export function won't work - help!

Running iPhoto 6 and for some reason my "export" function doesn't work anymore. I'm not sure if upload companions (shutterfly, flickr, etc.) are interfering, but suspect they are. Any have this problem before? Any suggestions on how to fix? Many thanks! Tom

In your Applications folder, select the iPhoto icon and go File -> Get Info. In the resulting Get Info pane you can manage the installed plug-ins. Turn off the third party ones and you'll be able to see if that's the issue. Then a little trial and error will find the particular one that's causing the issue.

EMacs Energy Saver function won't work.

Did anyone notice the same strange thing with the Energy Saver Control Panel after the 10.4.10 update? It won't work anymore... I would like to get this thing to sleep, to save electricity... Yes, I did check the Energy Saver Control Panel/Screen saver settings and this thing suppose to go to sleep after 3 hrs but it won't. Any suggestions? Thanks!

What peripherals do you have attached to the eMac? In particular, do you have a all-in-one printer/copier/scanner or stand-alone scanner attached? It's possible that the scanner driver in that case conflicts with the latest OS X version.
Is "wake for Ethernet network administrative access" checked in the Energy Saver options tab?
More generally, try resetting PRAM by restarting, then as soon as the display goes dark, press and hold down command-option-p-r keys until you hear three sets of chimes, then release the keys. You may need to go through System preferences and reset anything affected by resetting PRAM (see What's stored in PRAM?).

IPod function won't work on iPhone 4

My iPod application won't work on the iPhone 4. I can play YouTube videos, listen to previews on iTunes, but for some reason whenever I hit the play button on a song in iTunes it doesn't start on any of my songs. I've tried the lyrics app to play music, I've tried powering off and restoring it by holding home and power down and still nothing, help!

Read in another thread a solution that worked for me. Basically, you need to delete the music from the phone and re-copy from iTunes with 2 syncs. In the music tab, uncheck the boxes in the playlist, artist and genre option, removing all music from the phone, then sync. Then, re-check the desired music to copy back to the phone and sync. Music should play now from the phone.
I echo the sentiment of another poster that iOS4 really is a disaster. Problem like this should have been solved before release.

Type function won't work on trial version

Just installed trail version of Photoshop CS5 and the type function does not work?
All I can see when I selct the type tool and start to type is a constant line with no actual letters or numbers?
Can anyone help?

Windows 8.1 update added a recovery partition now the recovery function won't work.

After the latest 8.1 update, an extra recovery partition as added to the C: drive. A few other things got messed up so i decided to reset to factory original. To my surprise the HP Recovery Tools no longer work. If I hit F11 I get a 0xC0000225 error where the device isn't avaialble. I can see the recovery partition with the WINRE partition but I think the computer doesn't know where the partition is. I'm on an DV6-7211 with Windows 8.1 update. Anyway to tell the F11 function where the WINRE drive is? Since HP didn't seem fit to give me recovery media in my box I have no way to revert back to factory original. SInce there is a liscense for Windows 8 included, I don't feel like spending the money to buy a new operting system. Recovery media is way too expesive.

You might try making a Recovery set with the software included on your machine-though it may not work now either. Creating Recovery Media >> Windows 8

Upgraded to 3.6.16 now New Tab function won't work

Firefox did the automatic update to 3.6.16 and now it won't allow me to open a new tab. Page just refreshes if you choose 'File'-New Tab, and clicking on the tab icon doesn't result in anything. Have not noticed anything else that could be affecting how Firefox is working.

Uninstall the Ask toolbar and it should work again. There is a compatibility issue with the Ask toolbar and Firefox that prevents new tabs from being opened.
There are a couple of places to check for the Ask toolbar:
* Check the Windows Control panel for the Ask Toolbar - http://about.ask.com/apn/toolbar/docs/default/faq/en/ff/index.html#na4
* Also check your list of extensions, you may be able to uninstall it from there - https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Uninstalling+add-ons

Scrolling (carousel) function won't work

Hi a scrolling function on this site http://thepienews.com/ (top stories, carousel feature built in wordpress) has suddenly stopped working on my macbook pro and i have no reason why.
by this i mean i can't make my mouse manually switch between stories at all.
any advice? be gratefully received.

Trace function won't work but why?

Okay, I used to use Flash MX+ and AS1 & AS2 alot and am
now ramping up to AS 3.0. This sounds simple and dumb, but I cannot
for the life of me get the trace() function to work. If I put this
into a new .fla:

I get nothing. Blank. Nothing in Output or anywhere. Can

Open Recent function won't work after Mountain Lion updates

I recently did a fresh install of mountain lion (after using snow leopard for years). iWork, which came with my MacBook Pro worked great, until the update. Obviously I had to do a fresh install of iWork 09 from the CD I had. I then updated iWork through the software update. Now running pages 4.3 etc.
However, for pages and numbers I can't get the Open Recent function to work. It's just empty, no matter how many docs I've opened or worked on.
Any tips??

Menu > Pages > Preferences > General Preferences > For New Documents: check Show Template Chooser
When you now open Pages it will show you an open dialog with the option to look for those files either in your iCloud folder or on the regualr place on your Mac.
Personally I prefer the File Menu > Recent.

Photoshop Elements Editor Function Won't Work

After upgrading to Windows 7, the Editior function on my Photoshop Elements 6 program stopped working. I have tried the following: Run as Administrator. No success. Compatibility Troubleshoot. No success. Reinstalling. No Success. Anyone have any suggestions?

Please try the below solutions-
Solution 1:
1. Close Elements.
2. Launch the Photoshop Elements Welcome Screen and hold down ctrl + alt + shift as you click Editor.
3. Continue to hold the keys until you see a message box asking if you want to delete Photoshop Elements settings file; click Yes. Elements will open with default preferences.
2: In case any network printer is attached try to launch without network or printer uninstall or make different printer as default.
3: Try launching with anti-virus off or removing PSE from conflicting list.
4. Try launching directly from the exe of editor and organizer and see if it gets launches-

New version (2014.1) bug : stop() function won't work

Hi everyone,
I would like to know if someone else had this issue.
I've set a symbol that has an animation into another symbol that is put in the Stage. ( Stage -> symbol_father -> Symbol_with_animation) .
I want to make this animation start only when i press a button into the Symbol_father.
The issue is, as soon as I run the Stage, my animation will start regardeless i've insert every type of "stop()" function ( for example : sym.stopAll() into the stage, or sym.stop(0) into the start function of the symbol_with_animation, and so on...)

There is no such bug AFAIK.
I have created a composition @ Dropbox - NestedSymbols.rar as you described, and everything seems to be working fine.
Preview in the browser and click the green box.
Let me know if it helps, else share your composition so that we can test.
