Slide looks good until i print

The slides in my keynote look great when I play them on my computer but on some of them the text and graphics are suddenly jumbled when I upload to print. Why and how do I clean them up when I cant see a problem in the first place?!

It is better to fix your photo before bringing into Pages but you can do a lot in Pages itself:
Menu > View > Show Adjust Image > Slide the brightness to the right
Experiment but there are multiple adjustments to make to correct a photo for print. A subject beyond these forums.

  • Video looks good, until I export it to vimeo?

    how are you guys doing? im new to the cummunity. I have a problem with FCPX/Compressor 4. It seems when my video is in fcpx it looks good, i export via Compressor 4 & it still looks good. Now heres the problem. When you look at my video through a computer on Vimeo it looks ok, but soon as you veiw it via cell phone it looks terrible! (& we all know most people veiw media through cell phone devices) so my question to you guys is... is that just a cell phone thing? or are there settings in which i can change to make the video look good always reguardless if its on a computer or cell phone?
    http://vimeo.com/67703617   there is the video, but on a cell phone just doesn't look as right.
    it would be greatly appriciated if someone out there can answer my question..thank you!

    Terrible? No way.
    I have a 4S and I thought it played smoothly and displayed quite well – no artifacts that I noticed and very nice color as well.
    Don't know what else to tell you.
    Anyhow, the deal with Vimeo, et al is that once you upload it, it is in their hands.  So you want to give them a version that isn't excessively compressed (and of course, progressive). And they will encode it for desktop and mobile devices.
    Good luck.

  • I'm trying to print a pdf I created and posted on my website, it looks good online but is missing data when printed, help.

    I'm trying to print a poster I created and posted on my website, it was created in power point, saved as pdf, and uploaded using wordpress. It looks good online but is missing data when printed. It contains almost all the information except for about 6 lines, which happen to be important. Any thought are appreciated.

    No its weird, everything was the same. I sort of resolved it, since he can view the PDF fine on his comupter but also wanted to print it, I just exported all the slides as JPEGS and made a new InDesign book with those on the pages and exported that as a PDF. Seemed to work for him, I just don't know what happened!

    rying to get Photoshop CS4 functional with Mavericks and an Epson 3880 printer. CS4 fails to send a file to the print queue. Have reinstalled the Epson 3880 driver for Mavericks. All looks good but no file is sent.
    Does anyone know how to fix this?

    What EXACT version of Photoshop CS4 are you running?  You should be on Photoshop CS4 v 11.0.2.
    Also run Apple's software update to see whether it offers you the latest Epson update:
    Printer Driver v9.33
    Epson Stylus Pro 3880, Drivers & Downloads - Technical Support - Epson America, Inc.
    MOST IMPORTANTLY:  have Photoshop re-create its own Preferences:
    To re-create the preferences files for Photoshop, start the application while holding down Ctrl+Alt+Shift (Windows) or Command+Option+Shift (Mac OS). Then, click Yes to the message, "Delete the Adobe Photoshop Settings file?"
    Note: If this process doesn't work for you while you're using a wireless (Bluetooth) keyboard, attach a wired keyboard and retry.
    Important: If you re-create the preferences by manually deleting the Adobe Photoshop CS6 Settings file, make sure that you only delete that file. If you delete the entire settings folder, you also delete any unsaved actions or presets.
    Reinstalling Photoshop does not remove the preferences file. Before reinstalling Photoshop, re-create your preferences.
    NEW Video! Julieanne Kost created a video that takes you through two ways of resetting your Photoshop preferences. The manual preference file removal method is between 0:00 - 5:05. The keyboard shortcut method is between 5:05 - 8:18. The video is located here:
    How to Reset Photoshop CS6’s Preferences File | The Complete Picture with Julieanne Kost | Adobe TV
    Mac OS
    Important: Apple made the user library folder hidden by default with the release of Mac OS X 10.7. If  you require access to files in the hidden library folder to perform Adobe-related troubleshooting, see How to access hidden user library files.

    I have the same problem with lectures slides.
    Furthermore, sometimes the text box, when doube-clicking, turns  the text into a one-liner. Causing the text box to sometimes get 3. times wider than the pdf itself.

    By pressing [cmd + I] the Inspector opens up and clicking on the rightmost tab 'Annotations' you should be able find those Annotations again. I do this regularly to find the empty annotations I accidentally create while clicking through slides.

  • How can I make my images look good when exporting to PDF document?

    Hello! I'm struggling here with a PDF Brochure that I need to create (intended for web only, not print).
    There are two images that look horrible and pixelated when I create my PDF file. I have tried everything, making the images bigger and smaller, using 72 dpi images and 300 dpi ones. Everything results the same way... It looks perfect in my InDesign file, but in the PDF it looks all damaged. Here are two screen shots, one of how it looks in the PDF and one of how it looks in InDesign.
    Could you please tell me what I need to do to guarantee that the image looks good quality in the PDF? (My document is 40cmx20cm, I don't not if using cm is affecting the document).
    To export to PDF I'm using the option: Adobe PDF pressets --> Smallest file size.
    If you can help me I would really appreciate it!
    Thank you,
    Nataly.

    Terrible idea. In a JPG the text will not be alive, you loose all interactivity.
    And making JPGs with InDesign is not what the program is meant to make.

    i am on a Windows 7 professional PC, 64-bit.

    If anyone is reading this still looking for what caused the issue and how to fix it here is what I discovered.
    The antivirus program our company uses, Bitdefender Antivirus Plus, was causing some of the PDF files not to open. After troubleshooting the different modules and settings the culprit was..
    Scan SSL in Privacy Control Settings. Turning it OFF solved the problem and all the PDF files that previously would not open now open just fine. This issue has been sent to Bitdefender for them to review. If you use a different antivirus program and are having this issue try locating the Scan SSL setting and see if turning it off solves the problem.

  • High quality only looks good when in full screen

    I have a "15 MacBookPro using AE CC 2014.2..
    So I typed some text within AE and dragged in a high resolution photo to make a simple video. My composition size was 1920x1080.  But the photo and text always look weird, sorta pixelated, unless they are full screen.  It's like the AE video can't handle being resized whether I'm watching it on quicktime or youtube, or even while working in AE.  However the high res photo looks great at any size when I view just as a photo, using the Preview application.
    This has happened before on other videos I've made but it really bothered me because it just ruins the photo on this one.  if I make my video 720 it comes out not as noticeable but then if you try to watch the video full screen it gets blurry in the expected pixelated fashion, so that doesn't truly solve anything....I am just confused as to why after effects is not letting me make high quality videos that look good in a smaller video window (eg: the youtube video player if you don't click full screen)
    below I attached a screen shot of what is happening.  This particular screen shot is from when I uploaded it on youtube and watched it.  But if I watch it in a small window using quicktime or even in AE, it looks the same...until you blow it up to full screen then it looks alright!
    But I want people who just happen upon the video to be drawn into the photograph and bold text on screen not see some pixelated ****

    Your thin outlines on the fonts are going to fall apart when you have the media player scaled down. Here's why. Say those thin lines are 2 pixels wide. Say the Media player is set to 600 pixels wide instead of 1920. Divide 600 by 1920 and you get .3125 (or 31.25%) Multiply 2 pixels by .3125 and you get .625 and since there is no such thing as a fraction of a pixel the media player is going to make it's best guess where those white pixels should be and adjust the color to approximate what six tenths of a pixel would look like. The result is poor quality.
    You can improve the quality by first, not using very thin lines in your design, and second, not putting high value pixels (white, red, blue, green at 255 for example) next to black ones (0). Learning how pixels behave is as important to a motion graphics designer as learning how a brush responds to the canvas for a painter working with oils. Video is limited to whole pixel brushes so you need to learn how to paint with them.

    yes.  As long as it is a newer one (means not 15-20 years old). Do you have one?  If so, provide the make/model.  If you do not have one, which ones are you looking to purchase?

  • When I print a Word document to a shared printer, print preview looks fine but the printed page has too much blank space at the top and doesn't print the bottom few lines.

    When I print a Word for Mac document to a shared printer (that is connected to my iMac) from my Macbook Pro, print preview looks fine but the printed page has too much blank space at the top and doesn't print the bottom few lines.  I have tried to adjust the margins and the page setup settings but to no avail.  It used to print fine until recently.  Is there a way to fix it so that the printer prints what print preview shows?

    I should add that when I e-mail this document to myself and print it directky from the iMac, it prints fine.

  • Page looks good online but text won't show within Dreamweaver

    I have modest website and the text for one of the subpages doesn't show within Dreamweaver, yet it looks good online. Here's the page in question:
    www.acemon.com/basic-options.com
    It passed in Validator.
    A secondary problem is getting the container to actually fill the background. I'm sure it's something simple but I can't seem to catch it.
    Thanks

    If this is the correct URL, http://www.acemon.com/basic-options.html
    Try this:
    .container {
        width: 832px;
        background: #FFF;
        color: #000;
        margin: 20px auto 0 auto;
        padding-bottom: 20px;
        overflow:hidden; /**to contain floats**/

  • Looking for a Photo Printer

    Hello everyone. I am looking for a small printer that I can take with me to my photo session that can print glossy photos Something that can do the 8x10s or smaller.

    Hi again Kolourl3lind,
    Since you are looking for a compact photo printer, I recommend either the PIXMA iP100 or (maybe) the SELPHY CP900.  With the iP100, you will get better support for connecting the printer to a computer.  The CP900 is more suited for printing directly from a memory card or camera.  Both will produce excellent quality photo prints, but you are limited in size on the CP900 to around 4x6 prints.
    Of course, the PIXMA MG7120 is a good option as well.  This printer will allow you to print larger sizes and directly from a memory card.  However, it has some features you don't need (like scanning and copying) and it's definitely not as portable as the other two.
    My best suggestion is to contact our Sales Department.  Our agents will be happy to discuss the best model for your needs.

  • Iweb website doesn't look good on our web server (apache2)

    hello,
    I made a website on iweb and then published it to a folder. I then copied the files to our web server (linux, sles9). When I viewed the files on my laptop, it looked fine. But when I put the files on the web server, it looks bad.
    please see www DOT tkminc DOT com
    Why are all the spaces full of capital letter A's? It's not just that. The second page doesn't look good either. I was all happy about using iweb until I saw the results on the web server. Why is this happening?
    Thanks,
    oskar

    Why are all the spaces full of capital letter A's?
    I don't see any A's.
    But if one does see such characters, it is normally because the server is (mis)configured to force all browsers to use the wrong encoding. See this note:
