Slide presentation display

Hi, When I hit play on my presentation, all that appears on the screen is s small version of the slide off to the left of the screen with the slide number over it. I have tried everything I can think of to change it..but can't. I also can find nothing in the user manual about it. How do I get it back to one full slide on the screen when I hit play.

If you are using two video outputs, you may be looking at a version of the presenter view. Check the slideshow preferences and see if you are using the primary or secondary display to view your slides. Another thing you can try after you hit play is to hit the x key. this toggles between the slide displaying on the primary or secondary screen. also check that mirroring is off in your system display preferences.

  • Is it possible to get Apple Keynote to show the presenter display instead of just the slides when I record audio using Play - Record Slideshow?

Rather than giving a presentation with an external monitor, I want to sit at my desk and record a presentation for distribution like a podcast.  When I click record to add the sound to the presentation I see the slide show on the screen while recording instead of the presenter display.  I would like to watch the presenter display while recording so that I can see the next slide as I record.  There doesn't seem to be any way to record and watch the presenter display without having an external monitor attached.  Does anyone know how to get the presenter display to show while recording without an external monitor?

I also needed to view presenter notes while recording a presentation on my Macbook Pro and could not find a solutions, but I did find a pretty good work around.
I downloaded the Keynote Remote app for my iPhone.  I am now able to start recording on my laptop and then hit start slideshow on my iphone to view a portrait mode version of my slides with presenter notes below.  I use my phone to flip through slides and slide builds while I'm reading through my presenter notes.  When I've reached the end of the presentation I hit esc on my Macbook Pro and I'm done.  I'm then able to export the recorded presentation as a Quicktime video and post it on our website, which is exactly what I set out to do.
It takes a little bit of coordination to get used to this method, but I don't need to have a projector or second monitor because my phone takes on the second monitor role.

  • Can Preview be made to offer a Presenter Display much as Keynote?

When in "play" mode, Keynote offers a highly valued feature known as +Presenter Display+ that shows the current plus the next presentation slide on the computer screen side by side while, at the same time, driving a beamer connected to the display port with the current slide in full screen mode. +What I am looking for is an analogous function in Preview.+
Reason: I am routinely using LaTeX to prepare scientific presentations (and texts) in .pdf format, and this cannot be changed for various reasons. Keynote does not support importing an entire presentation in .pdf format and Adobe Professional offers no Presenter Display facility. So I am out of luck and forced to deliver my lessons and talks in the old way without being able to see the upcoming slide, which is far from optimal if one has collected thousands of slides over the years.
Any help is greatly appreciated. In case there were no solution with the current tool set, I would like to see this understood as an enhancement request by Apple. Thank you!

  • When I customize my presenter display it doesn't work! I still get on my screen what shows on the main display.

When I customize my presenter display so that I can see the time and the next slide on my screen, it doesn't work. I get just the normal view on both. Any ideas?

In Keynote Presenter Display Preferences ensure that Alternate Display: "Use alternate display to view presenter information" is checked
If using a laptop such as a MacBook Pro, toggle the Dual Display Key (typically F7 - has two rectangles on the key) to switch views
It is probably one or both of those causing your problem.
    Good Luck.

  • When using presenter display, my videos are jumpy. Why?

Hello: I just upgraded to Keynote 3 and am having a nightmare. I use the Presenter display mode so I can see the next slide, (no mirroring) and use a lot of Quicktime video clips in my engagements. In Mirroring mode they run smoothly. In the presenter display mode they stop every second for half a second - making the video extrememely irritating to watch. It worked perfectly in Keynote 2. It 's not the projector - I've tried it on seven projectors that I used prior to Keynote 3 and it happens on all of them. I've tried using different resolutions, different refresh rate modes, etc. Nothing make it work right.
I do 100 speaking engagements a year. HELP! Don't make me go back to PowerPoint!

I have been having the same problem both in KN2 and in KN3. I am a speaker as well and I use about 25 QT videos in my keynote presentation. When I go back and view the QT files outside KN I still have jumpy, choppy parts of my videos. The weird part is that the the videos are choppy at different sections and then they will be fine for a week. I am stumped and from what I see so is Apple. Apple has replaced 2 logic board and I have spent hours on the phone with tech support and still no idea. All I know if about 15,000 people have seen the apple at the front and seen the choppy video and as you can guess all the PC guys always mention how choppy the video was. Not good promo for Apple.
I am interested to see if anyone has any answers to this.
    Thanks
    Brett

  • Quiz Score in Slide Presentation

    Hi All,
I have prepared a short tutorial in slide presentation format
with 20 questions at the end, and I'm trying to get the quiz score
(using Flash with AICC tracking) displayed on the last slide but I
haven't been successful so far. I am using slide template in Flash
Professional 8, and I followed the instructions in Flash help menu
including copying all the required files onto my server, but I'm
still having problem with reporting the quiz score.. The only thing
I don't understand very well in the instruction found on the help
menu is "start the LMS system (or create the AICC Course Descriptor
Files) that references the frameset.htm file."
I would appreciate if anybody could provide me with
information on where to get help on this. Maybe there is a tutorial
somewhere I am not aware of.

  • Presenter Display Options Are Missing in Keynote 6?

I upgraded to Mavericks / Keynote 6 yesterday.
I have a dual monitor setup on my iMac27, and today when I'm trying to play a keynote presentation, it displays on the wrong monitor.
I seem to be unable to switch it to my primary monitor, because the "Presenter Display Options" tab (under preferences) that was present in the previous version is alltogether missing.
Anyone else have this issue, and a work-around?
Where are the "Presenter Display Options"?
    Thanks, JB

    Hi, everyone.
I, too, have encountered the same problem the first time I fired up Keynote to an external projector.  After trying out all the suggestions posted here, I stumbled upon a simple remedy.
    1.  Ensure that the "Enable Presenter Display" checkbox is ticked under the "Slideshow" preferences tab of Keynote.  I believe this is enabled by default.
    2.  Then right click the "Keynote" icon at the dock, and under "Options," assign to "None" or "All Desktops."
I found that this enabled Keynote to present my slides in the exact same way as the previous Keynote version did.  Whether assigning it to "None" or "All Desktops" makes any difference or not, I cannot tell, but both options work. I hope this helps.

I was in a presentation, and could not launch a website from the presenter display, clicking it only advanced the slide. Unfortunately, I didn't test that out before presenting in front of a few hundred people this morning. Ooops.
    Can anyone please help me?
    Thanks!

  • Auto numbering a slide presentation

I have a slide presentation created and I am trying to figure
out how to auto number the slides and display on the presentation.
I am new to actionscript and have hit a roadblock, i.e.,
    can't find any tutorials etc.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to accomplish this?
    thanks

Well, I created the presentation using the Flash Slide
    Presentation document.
What I had envisioned was creating a dynamic text field on
the parent slide that would display the page number. Then I wanted
to use some actionscript that would increment the page number
up/down when the user clicks on the next page/previous page
    navigation buttons.
I have not had any luck finding examples other than how to
create bookmarks that are SCORM compliant. I am not at that point
yet, just want a simple page number scheme.
    thanks

  • Controlling volume in a Flash Slide Presentation

    Hello,
I am working in Flash Slide Presentation mode. I have a
started a sound file playing on the "master" slide and I want it to
play throughout my entire presentation. However, on a couple of
slides, I want to play some short voice clips. How can I "turn down
the volume" a bit on the main sound file so as to hear the short
voice clips? And then turn it back up when the voice clip ends?
I understand basic Actionscript. Can anyone tell me the code
or point me to a tutorial which I can use to accomplish this?
    Thanks in advance.

use a sound instance to create your background sound.   and, how to control your flv sound depends on what you did to display your flv.

  • Please help -- Flash Slide Presentation

I've completed a Flash Slide Presentation (here at
work, which should be online right now). There are no nav buttons
displayed, but the left and right arrow buttons work when run
directly as a flash movie (test movie). As soon as I use the
published html file to load the movie, however, the arrow keys no
longer work, and I still see no nav buttons. Is the template bad?
I've read several tutorials on creating a slide presentation and
I've followed all the steps. I'm just beginning with action script,
so I'm obtuse about these things.
    Thanks

It is hard to tell the problem by just your description. If
you could post your file it would be a great help. Only thing I can
suggest is looking for any stop(); actions in your timeline.
At the end of your movie if you don't use a stop(); action it
    should loop forever.

  • Customizing presenter display

Does Presenter Display have to be customized one slide at a time, click done, and then go back into Customize Presenter Display? Is there no way to remain in Customize Presenter Display and move through the slides, not clicking on Done until all slides are ready?
    Thanks,
    Ben

Sorry. In that case, my question makes no sense. I misunderstood what was happening (I've never used presentation notes before). I thought the amount of space devoted to notes could be increased or decreased for each slide individually.
    Thanks for the help.

  • External Projector for Slide presentation on iPhoto 09

I need assistance in using an external projector for a slide presentation of my pictures. I can not get the pictures to project. I can do Keynote presentations with no problems with the same settings. thank you for your help...

    Welcome to Apple Discussions Alejandro,
iPhoto does not support slideshow play back on a secondary display like keynote does. iPhoto always displays the slideshow on the primary display. There are a few ways you can get around this:
1.) Export your slideshow as a Quicktime Movie and play it in Quicktime or iTunes
-- File > Export > Slideshow -- Check off "Display" and "Automatically send slideshow to iTunes"
-- Once your slideshow (now a movie) is in iTunes you can move itunes to your second display (or projector) and then play
2.) Change the primary display from the computer display to the projector
-- You can tell your computer to display on the projector first by changing your display preferences
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=301408#3
-- Go to Apple > System Preferences > Displays > Arrangement > Drag the small white bar from the current display (which is your computer) to the secondary display (which is your projector)
    -- Now play your slideshow
3.) Set your computer to use mirroring ( I don't like this option because you lose your primary display for the duration of the slideshow
    -- Go to Apple > System Preferences > Displays > Arrangement >Mirror
    -- Now play your slideshow
    Hope that helps!

  • Why doesn't the slide present?

Why doesn't the slide present, but the audio and highlighted areas do?

    Hi Lilybiri,
I am using Captivate 6 and I have created a Software Presentation. When I am previewing the Project, I notice that the Audio, Highlighting, Mouse, and Typing display, but the slide doesn’t. I’ve tried starting the Audio, Highlighting, Mouse, and Typing after the slide is supposed to present, but that doesn’t seem to fix the problem. Notice the screen shot below. The Highlighted text field is presenting but that is actually on the next slide. If I had let the preview run a little longer, the typing in that text field would be seen as well.
Here is what that slide looks like.  Notice that the Text and Highlighting are one second after the slide, but they are presenting before the slide.:
    I hope this helps.
Thanks for any assistance you can provide.
    BNYM Ralph

  • I dont like the presenter display

I would like to see my outline slide view while presenting on another display. I've already got a projector hooked up and displaying full screen, but I'm not comfortable with the presenter display.

I'm afraid the outline view or something resembling it isn't possible on the presenter display. What you have available is in the Presenter Display tab in the Keynote preferences. Do make use of the "Edit Presenter Layout..." button and arrange the presenter display to your liking. Mine has a much larger Notes window, larger current slide and almost no empty space.
When presenting, make use of the number, plus, equals and hyphen keys to call up the slide switcher for quick jumps to other slides.
