Slide Properties Issue

HI,
I'm trying to get this slide to return to a previous slide (with branching options) when the slide completes. But when I click "Jump to Slide" for the Exit action, then select the dropdown to chose the slide to jump to, the dropdown box is empty. (see attached screenshot)
Can someone please help????

You never use workspaces? You would be glad with CP8 (I do not). Open the dropdown menu under Classic.
Since you already restarted CP, this is indeed worrying. You have to run CP always as administrator. Did you try to refresh the Preferences? Look in the 'utils' subfolder in the installation folder of Captivate, there are files to run to do the cleaning. Captivate has to be closed. Also, check the cache, how big is it already?

Ligthroom 5 slider bar issue. i am having an issue on the slider bar on the develop module. the picture becomes blurry while adjusting using the slider which then makes it impossible to see my adjustments in real time. has anyone encountered this kind of problem? need help pls.

It seems like pressing F is no longer a reliable toggle between fullscreen and normal mode. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.
There are separate keystrokes for the two different modes.
F = Fullscreen
Option-Command-F = Normal mode
This seems to get me out of Fullscreen to Normal pretty reliably. So far.
It was much simpler when F was a toggle.

OC4J "classpath+properties" issue

Hi,
Is any fix available for the OC4J classpath+properties issue?
It can't find *.properties files even if it is in the classpath.
It's not convenient to jar properties files and edit the manifest.mf file in orion.jar every time you want to add new file

The classpath for the Oc4j is entirely different than what is normal classpath. If you start your oc4j with -jar option the system classpath will never get effected. If you want your properties files to be recognized keep under the possible classpaths. Oc4j takes every thing from lib directory so you can keep there.
If you have an application you can add <library path=""/> tags to your application.xml and keep the properties files in that directory.
If you have webapplication usually web-inf\lib added in classpath.

How to set slide properties 'display time' unlimited?

Hi there,
I'm working on a PPT based captivate project.
I have a slide with Yes / No button.
I want to program the slide in such a way that, if user clicks 'Yes' control will jump to X slide.
if user clicks 'No' control will jump to Y slide.
My question is i want the slide should be displayed till an either Yes or No is clicked.
But by default Slide Properties is set to 5 sec. Moreover i have read in the HELP section that i can be set to max 3600 sec which i dont want.
I want the slide to be displayed till eithere yes or no is chosen. Please help.

Hello,
You had already very accurate suggestions. Want to add this: if your PPT-slides do have already animations, timings, be sure to set the pausing point of your buttons to be after all those animations have played! If they are only static slides, do not bother about my remark.
Another addition: do you want those buttons on all your slides? If yes: you will have to copy and paste them to every slide, you cannot set a button to be displayed for the rest of the project. And to set your Jump to slides actions, it works a lot easier if you label the slides..

Iweb slider html issues

Hi there!
I'm trying to utilize the "anything slider" via the html widget on my welcome page. I've got all of my files properly located, I think my issue is with the html working correctly in iweb. The original html code opens up a beautiful slider and when placed into an html snippet on my welcome page it's all wacked out and images are not displayed properly.

Convergence 2 Timezone in calendar properties issue

Hi. I'm using Convergence 2 with patch 1 so when i set default timezone in options tab on calendar genteral to Asia Bangkok and check calendar properties in Calendar tab. It's turn into America Denver but in Directory server user profile icsTimezone and sunUCTimeZone has set to Asia/Bangkok. I'm not sure is it a bug or not. Anybody got this issue? I'm need help. thanks

Sorry it isn't a software bug. Course of when calendar 6.3 create new user's calendar DB it will set timezone in calendar DB by timezone config in ics.conf file for the first time. After i edited ics.conf to change timezone parameter then delete user's calendar DB. It' fine now after new create.

Unable to edit slide properties - Edit is dimmed

Can anybody clue me in to why my Edit button would be dimmed? None of the slides are locked. By clicking on 'Select All', the Edit button activates, but of course then I can only edit all slides -
Can someone tell me how to remove media from a slide if I can't get to the Properties of the slide??
This is driving me nuts - why can't I edit properties of slides?

That's okay...venting is good.
After looking at your screen shot, I'm wondering how you ended up w/ the Edit button at all. By default, the Slide Manager dialog box should have only showed the "Select All" button...and then, and ONLY then, the Edit button would have appeared. And for what its worth, the default functionality of the Slide Manager is to provide slide-by-slide adjustment to it's properties such as setting the slide title, advancing by user and locking a slide, just to name a few.
The Edit button (once you've selected more than one slide) will only allow you to modify the presenter's info, lock slide and advance by user options, so it's pretty restricted in terms of the parameters you can set over multiple slides.
And unless I'm completely wrong, as far as "removing media from a slide" is concerned, that's not something the Slide Manager is capable of doing.
What you're seeing in the listing of multimedia assets in the Slide Manager dialog box is simply a visual feedback element; meaning, that the Slide Manager is just visually identifying the kinds of things that your slides are using....like audio, animation and flash files. But if you want to manage those assets, you need to look in the appropriate places...like the Edit Audio or Edit Flash dialog boxes. In order to eliminate a flash file, all you have to do is go to the slide where the flash file exists and simply delete it from the slide. Same thing goes for animations; and since those are PowerPoint items, that's a simple matter of eliminating any custom animation applied to objects and elements on your slide(s). As for deleting audio, that's slightly tricker, because you have to use the Edit Audio dialog box....and from there you can cut audio or replace an audio segment with silence. In a worst-case scenario, you might find yourself having to delete the slide that contains audio you want to eliminate...only to recreate that same slide, so that you end up with a slide that doesn't contain any audio at all.

Keynote, Audio file embedded on slide, properties such as file name?

Any way to see the properties of the embedded audio file such as its name, or where it is located? I've converted from Powerpoint, but miss this RClick, Properties option to at least see the name of the file that is embedded.

I think you meant the Metrics Inspector? Also, to get this info, you need to have your audio object selected. The QuickTime Inspector does not give you file info, and neither give you file location data. Don't know why, unless Keynote is assuming you've set you media files to be embedded.
BTW, if you ever want to isolate a file outside of a slide, you can drag the proxy icon out of the Media Inspector and drop it on an appropriate app on the Dock. For this audio file, you could drag it onto QuickTime Player, and then Command-click on the proxy icon in QuickTime Player to see the path of where the file originated. Kinda kludgey, but it works...

Unable to Set Master Slide Properties

I'm not sure how this happened, because I could do this in the past, but for some reason I cannot set properties for the master slides in my project.
I am using Captivate 7 32-bit, and when I click on a master slide I get the "Master Slide View" message and can add/remove/modify objects on the master slide. But, for some reason, I cannot set the properties of the master slide iteself anymore. Specifically, I am trying to re-name one of the master slides, and the properties view is the same as the last filmstrip slide that I viewed.
For example, I am editing slide 2/10 from the filmstrip. I decide to change the master slide associated with this slide. So, I click on the master slide tab, then select the master slide I want to edit. The "Master Slide View" message appears, but the properties tab remains the same as the last slide I was viewing on the filmstrip. If I select an object on the master slide (like a text box), I can modify the properties of that text box. But, I cannot modify properties for the master slide I am working with.
Any ideas of how to re-enable the properties of the master slide? I already restarted Captivate and my computer a couple of times.

Skype Properties "Issue"

Have posted this recently but still looking for an answer
In Skype Properties - Security - Group or User Names there are the following
System
Account Unknown S-1-5-21 .........
Steve (User)
Administrator(User)
Interactive
Should the User "Account Unknown" be there as I do not see it on my laptop or old Desktop. Is this a problem or is it maybe because I have a newer version on my new Desktop. Sorry I haven't given you a snapshot. Would welcome an answer Thanks

Adobe Print Properties Issue

I am having an issue with the print properties being extremely delayed when hitting the print icon on Adobe Reader XI. I reverted to Adobe X to see if that would fix the issue, but it did not. I am running adobe reader XI on several (32) different Terminal servers that are on a Windows Server 2008 R2 operating system. I also have a server running Adobe Pro that is used by the people that have been assigned licensing for it. Both are displaying the same issue. Sometimes the print properties can take as long as 4 minutes to appear after hitting the printer icon. Once the print property is open, the file prints normally. The printers are all networked and running on a print server running the same OS as the terminal servers. I have unmapped the the printers and remapped them as well while troubleshooting.

UV Properties Issue

Hey,
I was having an issue with my UV maps, so I went to Photoshop and decided to change it over there. My problems started here.
I edited the UV properties and started doing the texture job on this little model:
After finishing the very first part above, I decided to try it out on other applications (C4D or Unity).
So, I exported it as .DAE and .OBJ just in case.
For my surprise, when I exported the files, the UV mapping did not change on the exported object, making the textures go completely wrong on other applications, except on Photoshop it self.
How can I fix that and export the new UV Mapping with the file?
Using Photoshop CC 2014.

PS does not change the actual UV parametrization on the meshes, this is merely an internal thing. Simply the wrong tool for this work.

Syndication Map properties Issues!!!!!!!!!

I am having some issue while doing settings for "SYNDICATING ALL RECORDS TO ONE XML FILE".
I had followed instruction as per SYndication guide pg 140,where it says:-
To syndicate all records to a single XML file
1. On the Map Properties tab, click in the Value cell of the XML File
Output property and select Single File (All Records) from the drop-down
list.
2. Click in the Value cell of the Repeating Record Node property and
select the repeating XML element which contains the record structure
But the issue is when i do the above still field "Repeatable record Name/Node" is greyed out and doesnot allow me to select IDOC segment.
So is this the issue with XML schema file OR is there something i am doing wrong?
Please let me know if anyone has got these issues..

Issue is, we had a XSD to which we added/extended some more fields..As a result root node of XSD was changed and the whole map now needs to be redone.
Old XSD was/is still allowing us to select Segment in Reapaetable node in Map Properties, but new XSD doesnot allow .
How is this possible that for same MDM version system allows to choose Repeatable node segment selection(in Map Properties tab) for one XSd and stops doing it for other?
Also if we dont select the repeatble node how will you map qualified tables?

Audio/Slide Timing Issue in Captivate 4

I have created the following:
A master file in Captivate 4.
Each slide in the master file contains an audio file and a .swf file (also published in Captivate 4).
The master file contains all highlight boxes and audio files.
I have four highlight boxes on a slide in the master file. The corresponding .swf file contains five slides.
Two of the highlight boxes must appear on the first slide of the external .swf.
The next highlight box must appear on the third slide of the external .swf.
The last highlight box must appear on the fourth slide of the external .swf.
When I preview the external .swf project (the five slides) from itself, everything works fine. The audio syncs properly when the highlight boxes appear and the slides change according to their own timing.
However, when I import the .swf into the master file, and run it from there, here is what happens:
The slides in the external .swf do not even all appear. The last one is nowhere to be found. The highlight boxes, of course, appear and disappear according to their properties. But the external slides will not cooperate.
So basically, what I have is audio synced up with the highlight boxes in the master file, but no way to coordinate the syncing of the slides in the external .swf with the audio and highlight boxes in the master file.
Can anyone help?

First thing to check is the frame rate of your master file and external files. They should match otherwise they will be playing at different speeds.
But quite frankly, even if the frame rates DO match, I think you're strategy of having Captivate SWFs playing inside another Captivate movie and expecting everything to sync up properly is doomed to frustration. SWFs inserted into a Captivate movie don't necessarily play as you would expect. The longer the duration of the SWF, the more chance it will be out of sync with the main project.
My honest suggestion is to build all of your slides in the one project. Insert SWFs only for small animations.

Quiz Slide Pausing Issue

I'll do my best to explain my situation. I just got Captivate 8, and am just getting comfortable with the environment. But for the life of me, I can't figure out why my quiz slides are pausing at the end and not continuing to the next slide. I am using master slides, and custom navigation buttons. My intention is to not include the built in playback controls, as I wanted to have my navigation stylized and placed a bit differently. I do have Playback controls enabled currently, to help me troubleshoot the issue. My Back and Refresh buttons work fine, but whenever I click the Next button (set to the Continue Action), it will complete the current slide, but pause somewhere in the transition. The only way to continue at this point is to press Play in the Playback controls. I've tried making this button a master slide button (by using a smart shape, and selecting Use As Button) and I've tried putting the button on each individual slide, but the problem seems to be the same (or similar) no matter what.

Well, this is what I get for being an idiot. You made me realize that there was something silly I was overlooking. I had a button in the Master Slide that was set for the Exit action. I guess that action automatically has a pause at the end of it in the timeframe, so it adds an extra, unwanted pause if included on the Master. I removed it and placed it on each individual slide, and it's working fine now. But for the record, In Captivate 7 I was just using a blank master, and (stupidly) copying every element that should have been templatized onto each slide... I'm not the greatest self-learner.
