Slide show but no sound

It does not have sound. It also takes a very long time to open a link. Most of the time the little timer just runs fir ever until you click on it then you see a play button. After clicking on play, the slide show starts but there is no sound. How do I address this issue for a Galaxy Note 10.1 on 4.1.2?

I don't have a tablet, but perhaps the same issue occurs on a phone. Could you provide a URL for the problem page so a volunteer can take a look?

  • Slide show - audio Narration & Sound Track

IN PE7 is there a way to adjust the volume of the audio narration and the background sound track . If I add an audio narration to the slides and add a music Sound track to the show - The music steps on the narration and it can not be heard.

    Robert,
In the PSE 7 slide show editor you could decrease the volume of the music soundtrack for its entire duration - but that may make the volume of the music too low when there is no narration. You can also add multiple music files to a slide show, but creating separate pieces (files) from a music sound track would require additional software to edit the music files and then difficult precise placement of the pieces of music around the narration. In my opinion, neither is really a good answer.
What format do you plan to use for the Output command of your completed slide show?
Do you also have Premiere Elements 7? If no, do you have other video editing/creation software on your PC?

  • I am using Iphoto 6 to create a slide show but my music stops when it supposed to loop?

I am using Iphoto 6 to create a slide show but my music stops when it supposed to loop?

    As a Test:
Hold down the option (or alt) key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Create Library'
Import a few pics into this new, blank library. Is the Problem repeated there?

  • Preview slide show-but not full screen?

Seems to me I recall seeing an option to NOT preview the slideshow full screen. But can't find it now. I would like to view the slide show while keeping Pages on screen so I can take notes. Is there any way to do that?
    Thanks.

I had gathered that, so am I to assume that the answer to my original question is no; ''"Is there still a way to maximise the screen without it going into full screen mode?"''

  • IPhoto 9 video playback shuttery in slide show but ok otherwise.

    Hi,
I'm using iPhoto 09 (version 8.1.2) on a brand new MacBook pro 2.66ghz running Snow Leapord 10.6.4. In my iPhoto events I have photos and videos imported from my Samsung pl150.
If I play one of the videos in iPhoto by just clicking on it launches Qucktime and plays the video fine. However, if I run a slide show of the same event containing the same video it is stuttery.
Anyone any ideas how I can get videos to show in slideshow without stuttering?

That's correct. See my first post in this thread.
iPhoto '11 uses the Quicktime X frameworks provided by Snow Leopard, so the GPU does the decoding. iPhoto '09 does not, it came out before Snow Leopard so didn't have that option.
This is why you must have Snow Leopard to install iLife '11. I now experience nice smooth playback during slideshows & also directly inside iPhoto (it used to open in the external Quicktime X player when double clicked).
I highly recommend anyone with a 9400m gpu or later & who works with HD h.264 get iLife '11.
According to the link below, nearly all Macs with Snow Leopard will see an improvement during HD playback. But its the ones with 9400m and later GPUs that get the best increase.

  • Sidetracked to a Slide show but too much flicker!

    Hi all.
As my wife is a pro photographer...I've been asked to do a slide show with audio track for a client.
I've spent a few hours now reading so many posts on this forum relating to why still images flicker on a DVD when played on a TV. Amazing what you guys know it really is. :-)
So having now made numerous tests with: image sizes and formats (PSD TIF JPGetc), Blurs, Contrast settings etc, I am left with a hugh pile of used DVDs, but still cannot get the photos in my slide show to stop flickering when played on any LCD or CRT TV.
I have read posts advising that there are better products for slide shows than PrE8, so I'm currently dowloading an evaluation version of ProShow Gold.
I guess I am just looking for confirmation that I am on the right track with this mode of thinking..? It would seem that using PrE8 for a slide show is kind of like using a sledgehammer to crack a nut?
    Thanks
    Craig.

When you say a DVD s/w player....? Is that a separate application?
Yes. I use CyberLink's PowerDVD, but the freeware, MediaPlayer Classic HC is a good one too. As I have the full-paid versions of CyberLink on all machines, I have it set as the default DVD player, though I do have MPC HC too.
When you say you 'Import those into Encore for authoring' are you saying that it is the Encore application that burns your final DVD? Does the method of DVD authoring actually have any bearing on the flicker issue?
In my case, Encore is my authoring application of choice. Good news - it's great and works beautifully with both my PrPro and with Photoshop. Bad news - it is no longer sold as a stand-alone application, and is ONLY available bundled with Adobe PrPro, as of CS3 and now CS4.
All that Encore does is author DVD's and BD's (Blu-ray Discs). My version, EncoreDVD 2.0, does not have BD authoring capabilities, but, as of now, I only work in SD DVD Projects, so that limitation is not of consequence to me - yet.
Most of my Projects are Burned from Encore, though I can and do use ImgBurn (or Gear DVD) to do some Burns, especially if I have Burned to Folder, or done an Image (ISO), in my workflow.
Encore does have a very rudimentary SlideShow creation feature, but I do not use it. There are too many limitations, and the only thing that it offers, beyond what I do in PrPro, is Random Pan & Zoom, something that I would never do, as I view each image as unique, requiring my eye to determine exactly how the Pans & Zooms are applied, and adjusted. It also has a 99 image per SlideShow limit. I just have zero reason to use it.
I have never had an issue with flickering, and really cannot comment on flicker removal in Encore. Never needed it, so never looked for it. Also, since it is an authoring program, ONLY, I rather doubt that it has this. It would be an operation for the NLE, not the authoring app. Encore can do no editing (except for that SlideShow feature), in either Audio, or Video - none.
    The image output was JPG.
As I've stated elsewhere, I am not a fan of JPEG compression, even at lower compression levels. This is both for print and video work. I only use JPEG, when I am doing work that will go onto a client's Web site, and often choose PNG over JPEG. I find that I can see slight pixelization with JPEG's, and eschew that format. As most of my images are in camera RAW (NEF's in my case), all of these come into PS through ARC, and are in .PSD format. I will do all of my image editing in that format, then resize for video and Save_As .PSD, which will then be Imported into my NLE (Non Linear Editor). I just never get to JPEG. Depending on your source material, and exactly how you are editing these images, you might want to explore not using JPEG in the scheme. As your wife is a professional photographer, test whether she can see a quality improvement. Some do not, but I can with my images. Not saying that PSD will eliminate your flickering problems, but it might be worth a look.
As for the ProShow programs, they do look good, and many professionals, who do major SlideShows are very pleased with them. One such producer on the PrPro forum got me to look into Producer, and it seems to be excellent. I just need to justify the purchase (and learning time), against the number of SlideShows that I am likely to do.
Last, with regards to the DVD RW's, remember that those are just for testing, and NOT for delivery. For that, I strongly recommend Verbatim, or Taiyo Yuden blank media. Nowadays, the -R vs +R is not the issue, that it once was. I always use +R for all DVD-9's (DL), but will use either for DVD-5's.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • I am trying to create a slide show but QT Pro won't open now

I am trying to create a slide show (Time Lapse Movie) from thousands of photographs and was told to buy QT Pro. After downloading QT 7 and QT Pro yesterday, the program would not operate correctly, although I was able to work with it somewhat. Today it started out Ok but then back to same as yesterday (will not open). Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
    Bob

Export the slideshow out of iPhoto as a QT movie file via the Export button in the lower toolbar.  Select Size = Medium or Large.
Open iDVD, select a theme and drag the exported QT movie file into the open iDVD window being careful to avoid any drop zones.
Follow this workflow to help assure the best quality video DVD:
Once you have the project as you want it save it as a disk image via the File ➙ Save as Disk Image  menu option. This will separate the encoding process from the burn process.
To check the encoding mount the disk image, launch DVD Player and play it.  If it plays OK with DVD Player the encoding is good.
Then burn to disk with Disk Utility or Toast at the slowest speed available (2x-4x) to assure the best burn quality.  Always use top quality media:  Verbatim, Maxell or Taiyo Yuden DVD-R are the most recommended in these forums.
If iDVD was not preinstalled on your Mac you'll have to obtain it by purchasing a copy of the iLife 09 disk from a 3rd party retailer like Amazon.com: ilife 09: Software or eBay.com.  Why, because iDVD (and iWeb) was discontinued by Apple over a year ago.
Why iLife 09 instead of 11?
If you have to purchase an iLife disc in order to obtain the iDVD application remember that the iLife 11 disc only provides  themes from iDVD 5-7.  The Software Update no longer installs the earlier themes when starting from the iLIfe 11 disk nor do any of the iDVD 7 updaters available from the Apple Downloads website contain them.
Currently the only sure fire way to get all themes is to start with the iLife 09 disc:
This shows the iDVD contents in the iLife 09 disc via Pacifist:
You then can upgrade from iDVD 7.0.3 to iDVD 7.1.2 via the updaters at the Apple Downloads webpage.
NOTE:  If you're running iPhoto 9.5 the export options will be different.

  • IDVD said it burned the whole slide show, but it didn't.

I burned an iDVD slideshow project, and it said it was burned successfully, but when I put it in my DVD player it kept looping the first 2 min. of the slide show. There seems to be nothing else there. I did have to archive my project and transfer it to my friend's PowerBook because my doesn't have a superdrive. Would this have affect it anything? The slideshow is only 9 min. long! Help!
    PowerBook G4   Mac OS X (10.4.9)

    Yes, there are 159 slides.
Yup, that's what I thought. MANY DVD players don't like the 'hack' Apple made in iDVD 6 to allow more than 99 slides in a slideshow and reset or drop the music after 99 images.
The only sure way to create a slideshow of over 99 images that will play in all DVD players, is to create the slideshow as a movie in iPhoto or iMovie.
Many of us like FotoMagico or Photo to Movie better than iMovie for making slideshows. (I use FotoMagico.)

  • My ipod video, videos show but no sound...

well i just got an ipod video and i uploaded a couple of videos into it, they look great. however no their is no sound. i dont know what is going on, what can i do about it?

    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
Were these videos converted? If so...
This is most likely because the videos are muxed. See this for more info...
iPod plays video but not audio of some exported files (Muxed Files)
You would have to use a converter that supports muxed videos, such as...
    MPEG Streamclip

  • I've completed my video slide show but there are vertical lines 6.0.3

I used overlap transition between all still photos. I noticed that the resolution goes down to 117k (can this be increased?) when I bring in the large mb stills. Everything is smooth but the lines. I have created this over and over. Ultimately I want to create an instant play DVD but have trouble with iDVD is forcing me to use a lame title page with stupid music. PLEASE HELP!!

Is the problem occurring in iMovie or iDVD?
If iMovie, give this basic remedy a try. Quit iMovie and delete your iMovie preferences. To do this, go to your username> library> preferences> com.apple.imovie.plist. Delete this file. Then reopen iMovie; it will create a new preference file with all of the default settings.
If iDVD, do the following for troubleshooting purposes. While working on your project in iDVD, create a disk image. Go to File>Save as disk image. This will create a file that can be viewed on your computer's DVD player. You will be able to see just how your project will work when viewed on a regular DVD player. You will be able to catch errors and correct them before burning and possibly wasting a disk. If the disk image plays correctly, then you know that the encoding is being done correctly. This would point to problems with the burn process. If there are problems with the disk image, then the issue is with encoding.

  • Not a slide show, but a group of photos lined up and scrolling

I want to take about 60 photos and line them up, and have
them scroll horizontally. Is there an easy way to do this? Id also
like for the user to be able to put their mouse over the pictures
as they scroll and stop the scrolling. Also, Id like for the
picture they mouse over to expand.
    Any help would be appreciated.

There are 9 different versions of iPhoto and they run on 9 different versions of the Operating System. The tricks and tips for dealing with issues vary depending on the version of iPhoto and the version of the OS. So to get help you need to give as much information as you can. Include things like:
    - What version of iPhoto.
    - What version of the Operating System.
    - Details. As full a description of the problem as you can. For example, if you have a problem with exporting, then explain by describing how you are trying to export, and so on.
    - History: Is this going on long? Has anything been installed or deleted? - Are there error messages?
    - What steps have you tried already to solve the issue.
    - Anything unusual about your set up? Or how you use iPhoto?
Anything else you can think of that might help someone understand the problem you have.

  • I have the apple univeral dock and AV cables and   can play videos and slide shows on my TV but not music How do I play the music

I am trying to connect an IPOD classic to my TV to play music
I have the dock and AV cables and can play videos and slide shows but not music

Actually, i figured part of it out. When I'm playing itunes to my Apple Tv and Airport Express stations around the house, then turn on the mirroring, the itunes volume bar goes all the way to zero. I can bring it back up manually, and it will play on Apple TV, but it won't broadcast to multiple Airport Express speakers, the way it was doing before I turned on mirroring. It seems that mirroring turns off the airport express stations.
