Slide Show File Names

To All,
Is it neccessary to have individual file names for all the files in all the slide shows?
I created a DVD with several slide shows that contian many images from my digital camera. Some of the files have the same name (ie:, DCS_004). All the slide shows stayed together while I put the presentation together. But now, when I reopen the iDVD file, I'm asked to find all the files for each slide show (which I have in individual folders). I choose the first slide for each show, the others followed automatically. But the problem is that the slide shows are all mixed up. Images (with the same name) from different shows (folders) are appearing in different slide shows. Should iDVD automatically find the images rather than me having to find each slide show???
Thanks in Advance,
Craig

You can do it in Encore 2.0.
Select all the slides in the slideshow, then go to Properties and turn on subtitles with the Name property checked. The name of the slide will now appear as a subtitle over the slide (make sure to enable subtitles when you link to the slideshow).

Is there a way to show file names with the events, in the event library window?

that is beyond the CONCEPT of this 15€ consumer product
iM is meant for camcorder-imports - cams give automatic file-names with very little information (clip001); the more important info are in the meta-tags (when, perhaps where, after analyzing who, what) .. so, from the intended perspective of this app, there's no need/function to display clip-names.
the EVENT-concept structures on time-stamp, based upon the assumption, you record your movies on some 'daily' basis, think of vacations, city-trips, holidays ...
for your workflow, using 'files', I would suggest to prep all files in Finder, create folders, re-name them, arrange them (you do know, in Finder hitting Space-bar when a file is selected, it shows a preview? video as motion pictures?), whatever to structure them, THEN import to iM for editing.-

  • Can't Export Keynote slide show file to iDVD?

I am having difficulty exporting a 12mb Keynote slide show file to iDVD. When I go to export, a warning stating that 'There is not enough disc space or a problem with the file' appears. I have enough disc space and I don't think that I am corrupting the file in any way. I've also tried a 'dummy' version with only two slides in the show, still get same message. Any help is greatly appreciated.
    intel 20"   Mac OS X (10.4.6)

I don't have a solution, but I'm having the same problem. I just installed iWork 06 and iLife 06. I have tried this on 2 machines one running 10.4.6 and the other running 10.3.9. And both give the same error. I called Tech support and first talked to the iWork department. The tech actually was having the same problem when he tried. He did research and talked to a product specialist to no avail. Then he transferred me to the product specialist, who was also having the problem and said they would escalate the issue to the engineers to see if its something they know about already or need to look at. I'm curious if anyone has actually been able to use this feature and when people started having problems. Because before installing iWork, there was a recent security update that I had installed on both these machines, and I wonder if that may have caused anything.
As far as preferences, there are two folders named Library one directly on your hard drive and one in your home folder. Both have a folder called Preferences, in Library/Preferences there's a file called com.apple.Keynote.plist and in home/library/preferences there's a file com.apple.iWork.Keynote.plist These are the preference files for Keynote. On rare occassions preference files can become currupt causing errors in the application. If you delete the file the application just creates a new fresh one the next time you launch, but settings go back to default. But this sometimes fixes problems. However I have a feeling this may not work for this problem.

  • Show File name as download link in a report

    Hi people,
In an application (APEX 4.2.1) I have a reprot whith a file donwload column. I implemented the download as a BLOB column with "DOWNLOAD" as Format Mask. This works fine, I can download attachments, no probs so far. However, I want the Download Text to show the name of the actual file instead of a static text "Download".
    Any suggestions on this?
    Kind regards,
    Vincent Deelen

    Hi fac586,
Thanks for your reply.Actually, my first thougt was to use #FILE_NAME# reference, I tried it again, but it doesn't really work for me. I end up with a download link that reads exactly "#FILE_NAME#".
I've put up an example in my demo app to show:

  • Show file name as the title for a photo in Photos app

If my memory is correct in iPhoto when you hovered the cursor over a photo it displayed the title assigned to the photo, but if you had not assigned a title it showed the file name. In Photos app the only way I have found to see the file name is in the info panel. Other wise it only shows untitled when you hover over the photo. You can copy/paste in the info pane but thats a pain if you have hundreds of pics with no title. I only named a few in iPhoto as I preferred to see the file name assigned by the camera. Any one know if it's possible to see file name and not untitled?

See this discussion:  Re: Where are photo file names?
Photos does show the filenames only in the Info panel, and if you wrote the filename into the title field as a title, Photos will suppress it. in some cases

  • Show file name in the library module

In Lightroom 2.7. there was the option in the library module to show the file name of the photograph in the area under the photograph. In Lightroom 3 I can not find this option anymore. Can anybody help me to find it ?
    Thank you

Info is not available in LR3.  You could use the info overlay.

  • How do I get the Organizer to show file names?

I'm lost and confused in Photoshop 13. How do i get the file names to be displayed in Organizer? I've chosen to keep the older version of the "grid" display and miss having the file names showing. I've searched the online manual but can't seem to find what I need!

And as a follow-up question, how do I get the font to be larger in the Organizer. It's all so tiny!
If you are on Windows, you can set the font size  from the control panel, display options. You can set the text font to 125% or 150%.
That will change the display for other applications too (not for the editor...)

  • Image Gallery: Show File Name

I am a yearbook adviser and am making an iPad edition of our yearbook.
Am hoping there might be a way to have images in the gallery show the filename of each image, for example, by default in the caption or title. Say I have a senior portrait image. If I named the image John_Smith.jpg, then the caption or title would read John_Smith.jpg.
Probably not possible, but thought I'd ask.

I think you'll find it not an option w/iBA, sorry.
There are graphics programs that will tattoo your images with the file name, I think, if that's enough for your needs. A Keynote slideshow may help with thumbnails...
As always, feel free to use the 'Provide iBooks Author Feedback' menu item for features you'd like added in the future, etc.

  • Showing file names in Slideshow mode

Anyone know how to show the image filename in slideshow mode?
I often use Slideshow to help me pic out the strongest images in a set, but it would be really good to be able to see the file name so I could more easily remember them! Seems you can have the stars on ther, but little else, which is a shame
    Thoughts?
    thanks in advance

Activate Text Overlays in Overlays panel (right side). Click on ABC button on toolbar below image, choose Filename. Position and size as required

  • Spotlight does not give the option to show file names only

I have noticed that Spotlight doesn't have the button to allow for showing only the file name that contain the search word. I use this function a lot and not having it makes my searches much more tedious. Anyone know if there is some hidden way now in Lion to do this?
    Sima

Well, after digging for a while in help, I found it. You have to click "show all" after beginning the search, then click on the + sign to add criteria, then choose criteria from the pop-up menu labeled "Kind". I had to go further and click on "other" to find "filename", then it worked. It seems like a lot more work than it was before. I would think that putting a few buttons with some of the most common uses at the top of the window would be more convenient, or at least, providing an option to put those buttons there.

  • CS3&CS4 dosen't show file name when printing to a rip

Need help. I'm using the Xitron Rip. It appears that when I use Adobe CS3 and CS4 to output files to this rip, the filename doesn't appear in the que. It shows the printer type file name instead.
    eg. : 4CTP-175Lpi-AT on 'LaserWriter
Any ideas?. I don't have this problem with CS2.

Sounds like you are using different settings. The file name would usually only appear if it is sent as a file to the printer, i.e. a pre-converted PS/PDF file. Otherwise it is simply a spool job with no specifics attached to it. Perhaps you changed the separation settings to be handled by Illu and it is converting the files?

  • Refinement Panel show "file name" values with question mark instead of spaces

    Hi,
I customized Refinement Panel to refine by file name. In some cases the value (file name) is shown with question mark instead of space. It looks like gibberish and the refine by that value doesn't bring the result.
    Any ideas how to solve?
    keren tsur

    Hi Keren,
Please try to reset index in Central Administration > Application Management > Manage service applications > click the Search service application > Crawling > Index Reset > check the box Deactivate search
alerts during reset > Reset Now > Ok.
Then restart a full crawl in the Central Administration > Application Management > Manage service applications > click the Search service application > Crawling > Content Sources.
In addition, please capture a screenshot of the issue.

  • Show file names on still images in Premiere CS6

I need to know if there is a method in Premiere CS6 to have the file names of still images displayed, without manually making title cards for each one. I have over 400 images to treat and any automated process would be helpful.

If you have Indesign you might want to have a look at this tutorial for making multiple titles for Premiere.
