What is the best program out there to do a wedding slide show with pics and audio?
User friendly as well.

There are so many programs that can do this, the choice really depends on what else you want it to do besides present pictures. iPhoto, which came free with your computer, is the first one to try. It will play a sound track with your slide show if you want it to, and you can select a variety of transition effects between slides. For a plain slideshow with no sound, bells or whistles, I like [ViewIt|http://www.hexcat.com/viewit>.

Not the only one. Though I have not retryed my installation. Here is what happen to me and please verify if you had the same (sounds like it).
1. Installed 10.8.4 on top of 10.8.3 and install went fine.
2. I have installed a Niffy Drive (though no SD in it) ... but did not realize potential problem you suggest.
3. its a MBPr
4. Boot took for every (it 40 seconds from after I logedin to system screen on 10.8.3) but after (ie on 10.8.4) took forever 10-15 minutes with a cursor in the upper left on a white/gray screen.
5. I reinstalled to 10.8.3 and all works as before
6. But sounds like after removing niffy dirve I should reinstall??? Ie the problem I described was the same as yours.

You want the caption written directly into the photo?
Since you are exporting from iPhoto, you could download the BorderFX plug-in, if your mac is compatible with this plug-in. It will allow you to write the titles or dates you are seeing in iPhoto directly onto the border.
You can download BorderFX here: BorderFX - iBorderFX iPhoto
If BorderFX is not compatible, use any photo ditor, that suports graphics, like Photoshop, Previews, to write into the photo.

Adobe elements 10. slide show for tv is poor quality

The only output selection for a CD/DVD slide show has a pixel count of 320X240. What level of Adobe software do I have to upgrade my Adobe software to have decent slide/show pictures on a TV?

"Slide show" for a web page

Hi all! I have a client who wants me to make a slide show to go on his web page. Up until now, I've been creating animated gifs. But now he wants the slides to fade or dissolve in to one another. I can do this in iMovie. But... the slide show has to be a specific size. I'm not sure in iMovie how to make a specifically sized movie. Plus, I'm not sure of the best way to save it. SWF? I've posted on the iMovie forum, but didn't get any helpful responses. I've looked online for help, but apparently I'm not using the right search criteria. All I find are instructions on making movies to run off of a computer.... not on a web page.
Oh... it also needs to loop continuously. Is this a setting I set in Dreamweaver? Animated gifs are set to loop when I create them in Photoshop. But I couldn't figure out how to do this in iMovie.

Quicktime slide shows for dvd and Quicktime movies

I am trying to make a slide show(s) out of several thousand
jpegs to dvd and also trying to make one quicktime movie from
short quicktime movie files.I have downloaded quicktime 7.6
pro and when I was looking at the pages on the download site
I get no pull down options like were shown ,when I click quicktime
the player comes up but thats it no options for slideshows no options for
making any type of movie ?????Am I being numb?and does anyone know
how to do either of these things in quicktime?My machine is only 933mgz
so no ilfe-imovie-idvd answers please they wont run on my machine,
besides quicktime claims to be able to do these things!

Can easily turn a folder full of pics into a QT Movie.

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. You can send the slideshow to iDVD and burn a DVD disk that can be played on PCs or thru TVs via a DVD player.
If the PCs have Quicktime installed you can export your slideshow to Quicktime movie and burn that to either a CD or DVD depending on the size of the file.
A third method would be to create a HTM gallery web page with the slides using the build in gallery mode in the Export window or the freeware Galerie. Then burn the folder to a CD. The PC users can open the index.html file on the browser and view the photos with their browser.

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.

Exporting a Slide Show for YouTube

I've exported a slide via QUICKTIME. It looks fine when I play it but after I upload it to YouTube, some of the still images are scrambled. The still photos are completely damaged. It's hard to describe but the images not recoginizable at all. They consist of scrambled glitches, if that makes sense.
What is best codec, format, etc for exporting a slide show, and for you youtube.

I'd first export a self-contained movie (File->Export->QuickTime Movie) and see if that plays OK in QuickTime Player. If it does, then convert it to H.264 for uploading to youtube.
If it doesn't play OK in QuickTime, post the Sequence settings you're using in FCE for that project.

Aside from any custom implementations that may be suggested by any other members, you could also consider using some hero-type slider like those found on our new responsive templates, and have each web-app item contain a product.

How do I make a slide show for a Mac that is not a video file?

I made a .mov slide show at "Display Quality" using iPhoto on my Mac Mini 2011 and it was 334 MB file size. When I made a similar show using Photodex ProShow Gold on my Windows PC (Windows executable file) it was only 14 MB and of equal quality (actually slightly higher resolution). I beleive the differnce in file size is because iPhoto is exporting a movie while ProShow is not. Is there any way to get the file size of a Mac slide show to a resonable size, yet retaining the quality one can get on a Windows PC? I would like to place the slide show on my web-site.

iPhoto lets you export as a webpage. This will create a webpage based slideshow of all the selected photos you can upload to your website.

Made a slide show on macbook pro of the two of us, saved it, then exported it to my iTunes. So how do I now share this with her. None of this stuff is purchased, just photos I have taken over thirty years....????Any ideas, greatly appreciated.

All the music plays. Literally took it off of my old hard drive I used to sync from and put it on my new computer. It all works. I don't know why it wouldn't work or why it would sync all f'ed up.

There used to be an option to choose how many seconds each "slide" would show in Screen Saver. I don't see that option in Mountain Lion, only how many minutes until Screen Saver comes on. Is there still any way to do that? My slides change more quickly than I want them to...

Thank you for the advice, but I think you misunderstood what I am trying to do. I know about Home Sharing and have set this up along with many of my photo albums. I can access them when my Apple TV is on.
I am trying to customize the screen saver for the Apple TV. When I go into settings - Screen Saver, I get a list including National Geographic, Flowers, etc. and also My ICloud. I choose My ICloud and it gives me two Options - Photo Streaming (which contains pictures taken in the last 30 days) and a second Option - Activity. I am guessing this would allow me to use specific photos. But it says "This album is empty." I would like to use about 30 - 40 photos as my screen saver but have no idea how to get them into that Activity album.
I created an Activity Album in IPhoto, filled it with the photos I want to use, then tried to share it to ICloud. The color wheel stays on for awhile which I thought was indicating the transfer. But I go back to Apple TV, turn it on, go to Settings - Screen Saver but it still shows Activity is empty.

I seem to be having trouble inporting scanned pictures from iphoto into imovie 08. This is my process.
1. Scan the photos.
2. Save as JPEG image into the pictures folder (Not the iphoto file, but pictures -My save as choices do not include iphoto).
3. Do a drag and drop of picture from picture folder into opened iphoto program. I can now see them in iphoto and have placed them in a seperate iphoto album.
4. When I choose pictures (right hand side button that looks like a camera) it shows me all my pictures EXCEPT any scanned ones. I have 6000 pictures in iphoto, but imovie only sees 4000 (2000 are scanned).
5. When I try to do a drag and drop from iphoto directly into imovie, imovie tells me the pictures are not compatable.
What am I doing wrong? My guess is something from the scanning aspect. Please help, the family just dropped the pictures off last night and the funeral is tomorrow.

IDVD will import from IPhoto with no problem and, you could create your slideshow from there.
It will only allow you to add one transition but, it sounds as if you are lacking in the time area, so it might be a good option for you really. I have never created any of my slideshows with IMovie , only FCE. in fact I have never even launched IMovie but, if working with stills in IMovie is even a reflection of how it is in FCE. then IDVD would be your best option in my opinion. to many things can go wrong such as fluttery images giving you bad playback, and you'll not have the time to gaussian blur out you problems.
You could always use Photo to Movie http://www.lqgraphics.com/software/phototomovie.php
It's fast and easy to use and, will allow you a lot more transition. it will allow you to import into IDVD.
The down side of FTM would be the render time depending on your machine.
