Slide show greater than 200

I have Photoshop Elements 6.0 and Premier Elements 4.0.  I would like to create a slide show with greater than 200 slides and then burn that show to a DVD.  Photosho Elements will not let me work with greater than 200 images.  How do you get around this problem?

Create two projects intead of one and export the slide show in to PRE then burn a DVD.

  • PSE4 How to burn slide show to DVD

I have created a slide show with over 200 photos and added music. After saving it (which took 45 min.) I want to save it to DVD. When I open the burn page it only has VCD option. How do I get it to burn to DVD. I have a Gateway Computer wit an NEC DVD burner. Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks,

    David,
Below is an extract from a discussion I had with others on forums who had your current dilemma. Adobe's answer is generally to use Adobe Premiere Elements to burn the DVD; if you have it installed there is a additional option to burn to DVD on that menu. However, you may have other choices.
If you have a DVD burner, want to make a PSE 3 or 4 slide show that plays on a TV DVD player, and do not have Premiere Elements:
    - create a WMV file using DVD NTSC or DVD PAL (according to your country TV standards) as the OUTPUT parameters
    - then read the doc that came with the software that supports your DVD burner (might be Nero, Sonic, Roxio) looking for a function that will create a Video DVD (note that it must specifically be creating/authoring a VIDEO DVD intended for play on TV rather than just burning a data DVD). Once you find this function, use your WMV file from PSE 4 as the input and choose the software options that give you a video DVD.
Based on my experience and conversing with others on forums, this will give you a DVD that is significantly better quality than the Elements VCD (written to a CD) and but not quite as good as a program that does a slide show direct to DVD. Quality is a subjective judgement, so I am not saying this is the answer for everyone. However, my philosphy is generally to try the software I have first before purchasing additional software.
Notes: For Sonic, I used a MyDVD limited edition that came with my burner. For Nero, I communicated with someone who did it with Nero Vision Express. I don't have any specifics for Roxio.
Notes: Creation of the WMV will almost always take a long time - depending on the number of slides and the number and type of transitions, zooms, pans. Each photo must downsized in resolution, then each individual type of motion must be applied; these photos must then become frame per second video (a significantly different format translation). All this takes time and processor power.

  • IPhoto's Slide Show allows for only one song !

I love the feature of iPhoto's slide show for a user to accompany a slide show with music from one's iTunes library. However, you can only pick one song. That means that if you have a slide show longer than one songs worth of time (most slide shows will be this way), the song will just keep repeating.
Sure would be nice if there was a way to either play mutiple songs from a user's iTunes playlist. Alternatively, I've heard that the a capability may exist (outside of iTunes) to concatenate multiple songs together to accomplish the same end.
Any suggestions on how to do either of the above?

    Hey Baheno,,
there's so many Roads that lead to Rome!
    Road #1
You can consolidate 2or more songs together in iTunes and name that (2 in 1) big song, Say, "eye of the tiger 2in 1) so this way it will be easy to locate it in the iTunes library while searching through iPhoto. Else you can create a separate albums in iTunes, and you put there only songs that are combined together.
    Road #2
This is the one I prefer. You can export your slide show to QT (Quicktime). it requires some calculation to create a slide show that ends with the end of 1 song. Then you create another QT slide show, that ends with another songs.... etc..... after you merge all the parts together and you have a very long slide show with many songs!
    Transitions:
Keep in mind that exporting to quicktime uses only the desolve transition. Which is fine with me. I have seen so many people doing some power point presentation and slide show with photos and using a array of different transitions..... in the same slide show.....it is disturbing, and takes away from viewing pictures. In cinema, it is said: "the thecniques should remain invisible" so keep the disolve transition... it is the least obtrusive .... your viewers, will never complain that there was no "cube effects"! Only you know about the missing effects!
    Self contained file.
When you export to QT, you now have a file that you can send people through e-mail (given that it is a reasonable size) or you can even post them on web page! like a .mac page.
When you want to view the show, you just click on the file and play it. No need to start iPhoto. No need to have a MAC, it can be seen on a PC too with QT. You can put it on a CD or DVD, and can be viewed on a DVD player.
But when you play your slide show directly from iPhoto, you have to be in front of your mac, you have to have iPhoto open! But you can have you mac connected to a TV in the living room (I do) and then can play the slide show from iPhoto, using a TV-VGA adaptor that will play on your living room TV for a larger crowd to see. It can also be played through the sound system!!!! infinity and beyond!!
If you want more specific on how to export to QT and merge 2,3,4,5 files post back. I will get more into it.
I always export to QT, because this way, in the future, you do not have to mess around again in selecting the photos needed, and selecting the songs in iPhoto. I just click the QT file, and it will always play the same!
    hope this helps!

  • Create aduio slide show

How to create an audio slide show with my digital camera audio photos. My camera allows me to talk to each photo to identify what I saw while on vacation. All I want to be able to do is to download from my camera and create an audio slide show just as is. I have both photoshop elements as well as premiere elements. I now also have NINE 2GB digital phots sticks full of audio photos going back several years. My health now dictates that I create these audio slide shows rather than continuing to buy new photo sticks. Thank you very much for whatever hlep you can advise. Wayne

      Hi Wayne
I’ve seen this done with on-line apps such as fotobabble but I’ve not come across in-camera narration. Have you tried downloading the files from one of the memory sticks to your computer. What exactly is the file format and does it have a separately embedded audio track such as wav. If so, it’s possible to do something in PSE or PRE. Normally you would add the images and audio on separate time lines and then mix them into a single clip. The clip can be played on your computer, uploaded to a website or you can burn it on to a DVD.

  • What Software/Techniques Needed to Write Slide Show to DVD?

Created my first slide show of +/- 1,200 slides in PSE 4.0 slideshow. No problem there. I want to burn this slideshow to a DVD that I can use in a laptop or other computer to view the slideshow on other computers with DVD drives, not necessarily to view on a TV. PSE 4.0 Help file says: Select "File"; then "Output Slide Show"; then "Burn to disc"; then "Select DVD Option." I'm ok to step "Burn to disc," but then there is no "Select DVD Option." Only options at this point are to select video format (NTSC or PAL), and Output Speed. "Burn VCD on drive (Phillips DVD+RW-D28)" is pre-printed in the dialog box and cannot be changed. Inserted a DVD+RW in drive, clicked "OK," and this disk was immediately ejected with a pop-up box reading "Incompatible media. Please insert a blank CD-R or a CD-RW disk to burn the VCD". (1,200 slides will not fit on VCD.) One user suggestion to reboot the computer to see a DVD option on screen did not help. My OS System is Windows XP. Two programs installed on my computer with the DVD burner, that I believe are DVD authoring programs: MyDVD v.3.5, and PowerDVD v.4.0. Must I have Photoshop Premiere Elements 2.0, or some additional software (recommendation?) to create a "portable" slideshow to view on other computers?
    Would appreciate any help!

    >Must I have Photoshop Premiere Elements 2.0, or some additional software (recommendation?) to create a "portable" slideshow to view on other computers?
Glad that you added the fact that you want to play the DVD on other computers - it does make a difference. As the prior post indicated, you really do need Premeire Elements or Nero Vision Express or Sonic MyDVD to make the DVD to view on a TV DVD player.
However, there is something else that might work if all people who will watch this slide show have a DVD player on their PC/laptop and play it using Windows Meida Player 10. So I suggest that you try it on your PC.
    - In the slide show Editor of PSE 4, do your Output command to a WMV file on your hard drive.
    - Then use whatever DVD software came with DVD burner to burn this WMV file to a DVD as a data file (NOT as a video DVD). Choose an output resolution that will be good for the monitors of the recipients.
    - Next try to play this DVD on your system using Windows Media Player 10 (I don't know if earlier versions will play). I doubt that the software on your PC that plays commercial DVDs will play the WMV file; that is why I directed you to use Windows Media Player.
If you plan to distribute this to the general public, I think you will have problems with the recipients not having the necessary hardware or not understanding that they can't use their normal DVD player software. However if you are sending to a limited set of relatives and friends, it might work. If anyone has an Apple computer, I think there is software that will play a WMV file on Apple software, but it seems that many people may not have it.
    In closing I will say
    - be sure to save your slide show as a project so you can do multiple experiements (you may have already done this)
    - it would be much more flexible as to how it is played if you did make a video DVD. However, you actually have a choice of using higher resolutions if you only save as a WMV file for play on a computer.

  • Unable to locate saved slide show

I created an album, and then a slide show containing almost 200 slides.  I was sure to save and name it; now I can't find it.  When I open Photoshop Elements 9 there are no menu items,( i,e, File, View, Edit)  across the top, so I see no way to "Open Saved Project".  I can see the album listed on the right, and can access the original photos from there, but I can't find the slide show.  Would LOVE some help as it took me hours to create, thanks.

There are many ways of finding your slideshows in Photoshop Elements Organizer.
    1. If you know the name of your slideshow(s), you can search for them using the Search box at the top left of the Media Browser (the area with your image thumbnails).
    2. You can have the Media Browser only display projects (such as slideshows):
    A: Go to Find>By Media Type>Projects (keyboard shortcut Alt+4).
B: Go to View>Media Types and uncheck all other types besides Projects.
    3. If you know when you created you slideshow(s), you can limit what the Media Browser displays to that date range (Find>Set Date Range or by using the Timeline (under the Window menu)).
    4. If you are in the Folder Location Display mode, navigate to this folder:
    A: Windows XP - C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Adobe\Elements Organizer\Catalogs\PSE9\projects
    B: Windows Vista/7 - C:\ProgramData\Adobe\Elements Organizer\Catalogs\PSE9\projects

  • How do you create a 800 x 200 pixell slide show with Photoshop Elements 8?

I have a banner for a web page that measures 800 x 200 pixels. I would like to create a slide show in the whole volume but I have been unable to discover where to change the standard size of the slide show window to 800x200 in Elements 8. Can anyone help?
    Al

Many thanks for your reply. I edited a series of photographs to 800x200 as
you described and then attempted to create a slideshow in Slideshow editor.
I get a good horizontal fit in the slide frame but there are black bars top
and bottom since the frame is more than 200 pix high. My question really is
how do I create a 800x200 slide frame that the edited photographs will fit.
Subject: How do you create a 800 x 200 pixell slide
    show with Photoshop Elements 8?
In the slideshow editor interface click once on your image in the main
window - you will see a bounding box appear together with editing options.
Click on the More Editing button and when your image opens in full edit
    select the crop tool.
Set width to 800 px and height to 200 px and resolution to 72
Drag out your crop rectangle and move your image to the position you want -
this avoids image distortion but you will sacrifice parts of the original to
    create a banner.
Press Ctrl=S to save and check version set to save an edit without affecting
    the original.
Press Ctrl+W to close and your cropped image should automatically pop up in
    the slideshow editor.

  • How do I get my DVD slide shows to display files in the order I load them rather than random present

How do I get slide shows created on DVD to show slides in the order I load them rather than randomly?

  • Adding more than one song to a slide show in Elements 11

Most of my slideshows are longer than one song and I get tired of it just repeating. Can I have more than one song in a slide show and how do I do this?

I like to use different songs for different parts of slide shows and also to edit out some of the extra verses in some of the songs I use, so what I do is to use Wavepad (free download) to edit the desired songs. I save each one in a separate file (adding a descriptor such as "short" to the original title). Then, I open a new file in Wavepad, save it as the name of the slide show (such as Graduation Medley), then copy & paste each song from its respective file, in the correct sequence I want them to play into the new file. Be sure to save at the end, in between, all the time.
I go back to iTunes and import the new file into the Library. Then I go back to iPhoto, select the relevant slide show, click on the Music button and select that file for my music for the slide show. I then go to the Settings and click the button that says "Fit photos to music".
You can also create a playlist from the edited files and add the playlist as specified in the other posts.
When previewing the slide show, if the music for the 2nd section starts too soon or too late, I adjust the time for a couple of beginning section's slides, add an extra one in, or maybe even reedit the music.
    Hope this helps.

  • Slow exporting slide show as video.  4 days less than 10%

    Hey,
i was organizing a slide show on my new mac book pro and i was trying to put more than one song in my slide show. is this possible? i realize that u can loop the same song but that is pretty tacky for a slideshow if you ask me. plz help as soon as possible because this slide show also has a deadline for tomarrow. thanks.

    Michael:
Yes it is. You need to create a playlist in iTunes with the songs you want and then in iPhoto select that playlist. Just be sure to click on the playlist icon and not on any of the tracks in it.

  • Using more than one transition in a slide show

Is there any way to use more than one transition in a slide show?
    Thanks,
    Steve G.

I do not yet own iDVD8 but I do know that transitions w/in iDVD6 are applied globally (same transition for each image).
The only way around this that I know of is to use another app like DVDSP (which allows you to change individual transitions and durations as well).
