Slide show: publish to folder - how to optimize

http://www.shukubo.de/harry.staymann/ar.lanin.html
pls. try slide show button and click on the images.
it will bring up windows which need improvement. the silverish design of the window does not fit to actual image size. so on both sides there are huge white gaps which looks pretty cheap.
how can i fix this?
also i'd prefer to leave the slideshow button out and just want my images to be clickable to open a (plain) window (such one i get if i click on the image in the slide show window itself) with the original image size (here 640x480).

the silver design is the result of not publishing to .Mac!
this is one of the features that will fall off.
you can integrate other slideshow that look much better than the .Mac one. Here is simpleviewer which is great:

THOUGH, if you only want to have the images open in a small window - you will have to do some post-editing that will make images open in a new window.
you first of all drag in your images into your photo template. then create boxes with a opacity (GERMAN: in deutsch ist das -->> Deckkraft <<--) of 1% over each image. Activate each as a link, which goes to the image that it should show when it opens.
When you now publish you will have each image link to the corresponding image when clinked upon.
YET - if you want to have the pictures open in a new window with a custom size - you will need to do some post-editing.
to do that you can view this article that will help you:

hope that helped,

    You don't.
Slideshows are exported as movies and these are very large files. Email is not an appropriate medium for very large files as they can cause immense issues for the receiver.
Better to share some other way.

  • Slide show on DVD. How?

I have made a slide show in Lightroom 4.4. I want to make a DVD that I can watch at my DVD player. How do I do it?

Most DVD and Blu-ray players will create a slideshow for you using JPEG image files on a USB thumb drive or SD memory card. You'll get the best results using a Blu-ray player and 16:9 TV.
    1) Create your slide show using the LR 'Widescreen' template.
    2) Use 'Export JPEG Slideshow' with 1920 Width x 1080 Height for Blu-ray players, 1280 Width x 720 Height for DVD players, with 80 Quality to keep the file size smaller.
    3) For the 'File Name' use the number 1, which will number the images 1-1, 1-2, 1-3 to maintain your slide order.
Check the player's User Manual for details on its 'Picture' playback features and setup.

  • How can I send a slide show with email?

I am trying to send an album but want the receiver to get them as a slide show. does someone knows how?

Note that any kind of file containing a slide show with multiple photos is going to be quite large, most likely, and thus is not really appropriate for e-mail.  Many servers won't accept attachments beyond a certain size, many people operate with strict mailbox size limits, and so your message may never arrive at its destination.  I'd encourage you to do something else.  For example, I think you can create a movie file - possibly using iMovie, I'm not sure though.  Do that and upload it to YouTube, then send people an e-mail invitation to view it.  If desired, YouTube allows you to set it to be viewable only to those who are invited and not to the general public.

  • In Mavericks iPhoto slide shows, why do the last pics come first, some pics are upside down, and some vertical pics are horizontal?  How can I fix this?

On my iMac OSX, 10.9.4, Mavericks, I have been trying to view an album as a slide show.  The slide show starts at the end (bottom row picture) instead of the beginning (top 1st picture).  I have gone to View>Sort Photos>Manual.  But the order of Ascending and Descending choices are greyed out with the default check by Ascending.  How can I start at my beginning without rearranging all the photos?  Also, some of the photos are upside down and sideways, even though they are correct in the album.  How can I fix this??   Thank you!  Also, can I include a video in the slide show?  Up to how many seconds/minutes?

Is this a slideshow created directly from an album?
There's a bug with iPhoto 9.5 and Mavericks in that slideshows from Albums do not play correctly if they are sorted manually.  Only photos that have been sorted by date, keyword, rating or title will play from albums correctly.
To have a slideshow with photos sorted manually use the slideshow mode in iPhoto.

  • Hi, The burn quality of iDVD in very low for my slide shows. Images do no tlook good on playback and the sound track jumps every 99 images due to the way chapters are set up in it. How to I output a slide show to be high quiality?

    Hi
the output form iDVD is very poor quality( Low res due to compression by iDVD) when I produce a slide show in iPhoto and share it over to iDVD then burn it. What is the solution? I like to add the title page in idvd ads it looks professional, but hte end output in NOT professional.
Also in iDVD the soundtrack that was flawless in iphoto now jstutters every 99 images and IDVD apparantly can only process bulk images in chapters that contain 99 images. So if you have a slide show with 245 images in you get hesitation at two points of teh slideshow as it struggles to start the next set of 99 images in the slide show!!! How annoying overall. Please help??????

There are many ways to produce slide shows using iPhoto, iMovie or iDVD and some limit the number of photos you can use (iDVD has a 99 chapter (slide) limitation).
If what you want is what I want, namely to be able to use high resolution photos (even 300 dpi tiff files), to pan and zoom individual photos, use a variety of transitions, to add and edit music or commentary, place text exactly where you want it, and to end up with a DVD that looks good on both your Mac and a TV - in other words end up with and end result that does not look like an old fashioned slide show from a projector - you may be interested in how I do it. You don't have to do it my way, but the following may be food for thought!
Firstly you need proper software to assemble the photos, decide on the duration of each, the transitions you want to use, and how to pan and zoom individual photos where required, and add proper titles. For this I use Photo to Movie. You can read about what it can do on their website:
    http://www.lqgraphics.com/software/phototomovie.php
(Other users here use the alternative FotoMagico:  http://www.boinx.com/fotomagico/homevspro/ which you may prefer - I have no experience with it.)
Neither of these are freeware, but are worth the investment if you are going to do a lot of slide shows. Read about them in detail, then decide which one you feel is best suited to your needs.
Once you have timed and arranged and manipulated the photos to your liking in Photo to Movie, it exports the file to iMovie  as a DV stream. You can add music in Photo to Movie, but I prefer doing this in iMovie where it is easier to edit. You can now further edit the slide show in iMovie just as you would a movie, including adding other video clips, then send it to iDVD 7, or Toast,  for burning.
You will be pleasantly surprised at how professional the results can be!
To simply create a slide show in iDVD 7 onwards from images in iPhoto or stored in other places on your hard disk or a connected server, look here:

  • How can I make a CD full of photos play as a slide show?

    Hi all.
I hope I am posting in the right place.
On my XP machine I can insert a CD or DVD loaded with photos and without any convertions it loads and I can choose to view the photos as a slide show by clicking on an command in the left window "View as slide show".
Does the Mac OS X have a similar and simple way to view photos as an automated slide show?
If so, how would I go about working it?

  • Converting m2ts videos for iPhoto slide show.

My brother used a new camera during a recent trip we took together. He has some great videos, but they are m2ts format and I use iPhoto to produce my slide shows. (I burn the slide show using iDVD). How do I convert his videos so that I can use them? My computer is not able to open them at this point.

One for the iMovie forum, I think.

  • IPhoto books and slide shows vs. iMovie

I have put an iBook together and it looks great. To play it in a slide show with text and titles is wonderful. The problem is that I cheated. I fooled iBook into making double trucks (two page spreads) of some of my photos...Looks great in book form but plays as left page/right page in a slide show. Not good. I could just make a slide show from a folder...But then I get no text page or title page. If I make an iMovie of my images, they look soft (out of focus) and I am limited in the amount of text I can output. If there is a way to get print into the iPhoto slide show, I would be happy. Any ideas?

If you had iDVD on an older Applications DVD disc that came with an older Mac install that and then make sure you use Software Update before you try to start the program. You could also try doing software update now and see if any newer upgrades/updates are available.
I suspect what they transfered is an older version that will not run on the new OS X. Once updated/upgraded to a newer version it will work.
But then you may need to do a reinstall first.

  • 16:9 HD Slide Show in PSE7?

Can PSE7 export a 16:9 slide show in HD?
How can the "pan and zoom" box be sized to match 16:9?

Thanks. Actually, I tried rebooting and it worked. Now I just double click the slide show image or right click and click Edit and the slide show editor opens.

  • Wanting to make a high quality slide show

I have pse 5 and want to make slide shows. I know that I must save the show to .wmv.
Please give me some tips on making the best quality HD tv slide show using pse 5. I am primarily concerned with visual quality, not features such as a 1000 different transitions.
As far as VCD's go, are they capable of producing excellent quality, assuming a short slide show?
Or, will I have to get Premiere to get the best playback quality?
Lastly, do the stand alone slide show programs create better quality (not transitions, etc.) shows?
    Thanks very much in advance.
    Steve.

    >As far as VCD's go, are they capable of producing excellent quality, assuming a short slide show?
simple and direct answer - NO
    >best quality HD tv slide show using pse 5
How will you play back this slide show on your HD TV?
Do you have a Media Center configuration where you can play from your PC to your TV?
Do you have a DVD burner that can burn Blue Ray DVDs and a TV DVD player that can play the Blue Ray DVDs?
Premiere Elements does have the potential to give you better quality for TV playback from a DVD. More info and suggestions sort of depend on responses to those questions above as well as the specifications of your PC and therefore its capability to handle HD video.
    EDIT - adding comment
If you want to pursue the Premiere Elements discussion, there is a forum at muvipix.com (a site started by some regulars at the Adobe Premiere Elements forum) that may be a better forum for this discussion.
    >Lastly, do the stand alone slide show programs create better quality (not transitions, etc.) shows?
Potentially yes. ProShow Gold is a program that some Photoshop Elements users like for their slide shows. Hopefully someone who is using that software will post to this thread.

  • Making A Slide Show To Burn To A DVD

His I just started using photshop elemnents 13 from a previous 11 version.
In the past I picked some 300 slides to make a slide show with music and then exported it to a WMV and then imported the WMV into premiere elements and burned a DVD. In phtoshop elements when I selected my slide and created a slide show I could choose how many seconds each slide, the color of the borders, the manner in which slide changed and I used random.
You could then do zoom in or out, make extra slide with information, add music and then save and export to a WMV and then import that into premiere elements and then burn a DVD.
    Help
    Tom Fitch

Reason I thought PSE4 would burn to a DVD is, there is a button in the slide show screen that says "burn to DVD" in the PSE4 book we were reading.
If Premiere Elements 2 were also installed with Photoshop Elements 4, then it was possible to burn to DVD from the PSE 4 slide show editor by using Premiere Elements 2.   Not all writing on that workflow made it obvious that the Premiere Elements software was required.
Would I be better off getting a different program for making slide shows? The pictures I'm trying to make into a slide show are from a 90th birthday party I shoot over the weekend and want to give out copies of a DVD to the guest.
    Option 1
If you have already made a slide show in the Photoshop Elements slide show editor, then you might as well do some investigation of the alternatives.
-- What Windows operating system are you running ? If it includes Windows DVD Maker, then I would give that a try. Write your output of the slide show from PSE to a File - WMV - with Size of DVD,NTSC (or DVD,PAL if your TV is PAL format).  Then use that WMV file as input to Windows DVD Maker.
-- If you don't have Windows DVD Maker then you could investigate whatever DVD software came with your PC.
FYI - One warning about the photo files that you use in that PSE slide show. If you use hundreds of high resolution photo files, then PSE can have problems. If your output will NOT be High Def (and yours probably will not be since you mentioned a DVD) then "downsizing" the photo files to approx 1000x 750 pixels will decrease the probablility of your having problems with the slide show.
    Option 2
If you have not yet started the PSE slide show, then you might consider a program that many people like for slide shows ----- ProShow Gold from Photodex. It does have a trial.
